    The Hooligan was the model I initially wanted. The local dealer kept having shipment delays. They called and sent me pictures of the Genuine Rattler 200i (170cc). Less price, similar platform. I went over and purchased it. Genuine sent them 3, I bought the first one. Good speed/power but I still like the way the Hooligan looks. Rattler is sharp too!

      The walk-through frame is very popular in Taiwan with over 10 million scooters for the convenience of doing verious errands, such as delivery, grocery shopping, big dogs outing, etc.

    Hey Andrew, and everyone else, wondering how these scooters fit with riders above 6 Feet. I'm 6'2 with a size 14 boot. I couldn't even turn the steering wheel on a Piaggio Liberty, but sat on the Vespa 150 comfortably. I hope to fit on the hooligan, If not I'll have to go with a Kymco XTown 300, or the Vespa 150.

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Рік тому +2

      Hi Malcom! I’m 6ft and feel pretty good on the Hooligan. I’ve also seen someone 6’4 ride one without issue. It’s the same for me on the Liberty - it just feels too small for my size. The Vespa 150 feels great but where you end up on the seat is the question - there’s a little ridge that is meant to separate the passenger and driver seating positions that you may end up sitting on. Whether or not that bothers you is personal preference - I’m OK with it since tue ridge is slight. Go sit on some to see what feels best. Take care and good luck.

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  2 роки тому +1

      Yes to the first question and maybe to the 2nd. It will depend on the weight of the riders and the terrain being ridden on.

    What is the mpg? I’m thinking about purchasing a scooter so I’ve been doing a little research on line.I’m 59 years old,so it would be kind of a midlife crisis purchase.I’ve never owned two wheeled vehicle. How do I know which would be the best option

    • @VespaPortland

      Probably about 60-65 mpg on that scooter. Depends on how you ride. Rider weight. Etc.

    What is the weight limit for driver/passenger on this scooter?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Рік тому +1

      Sorry for the delay - we finally got a Hooligan in stock to check. The gross vehicle weight limit is 617lbs which includes the weight of the scooter which is 278lbs. That leaves you with 339lbs max left to play with.

    do you guys sell scooters so I need to buy one I need one for long rides an something can push my weight

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Місяць тому

      We definitely sell scooters. Why you’ll want to look into for weight concerns is the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) on the VIN plate of the scooter. From that number you subtract the weight of the scooter and whatever number is leftover is how much rider and cargo can fit on the scooter. Generally it’s in the 400-450lb range but on some bikes like the Buddy 50 it’s under 250.

    Would a scooter be a good form of transportation for a amputee doing short local trips?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  2 роки тому +1

      It could be! Probably not the best choice if you don't have two hands on the bars. If a leg was amputated and you're comfortable with balancing the scooter on one side it would probably be fine. Getting the bike on the center stand could be tough but the kickstand may be all you need.

      None that we know of but you’re one of the first people to ever ask. There is probably a custom fabrication shop somewhere in the US (maybe connected through medical insurance?) that could do something like it.

    Can u take this scooter on a long distance trip

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  2 роки тому +2

      You can take nearly any scooter on a long distance trip! We’ve seen people on 50cc scooters circle the country or ride from Portland all the way up to the northern tip of the Washington state peninsula. Scooters aren’t always the perfect tool for the job - wouldn’t recommend just sitting full throttle on the freeway for hours on end with this thing but if you’re into taking rural highways and some slower roads mixed in, sure! Just stop and stretch because your butt is going to give up the ghost otherwise.
