It may only be number 4 of their best selling albums, but it is my favorite and chock full of hits. Thunderstruck is used to pump crowds up at sporting events all over the world. This whole album has me banging my head to every track. Are You Ready, Shot Of Love, Fire Your Guns, Thunderstruck and The Razors Edge are phenomenal songs! Loved it since it first came out in my last year of college and still rocking out to it 34 years later!

I didn't care for it when it came out even though AC/DC was my favorite band and this was the first tour I saw them on (even two times). Something about it made me put my critic hat on every time I heard it and analyze the production. Also it was hugely popular and I always compared it to the hype surrounding it and that just took me sort of out of the experience. When Ballbreaker came out and then Stiff Upper Lip I thought those were a wonderful return to form for the band. So over the recent decades I've come to listen to The Razor's Edge album in a different context almost with different ears. It's like a 34-year-old album at this point. Yes it's production is different for AC/DC but now I can just look at that as the character & vibe of that album at that time and be okay with it sounding a little different. With this band in the Autumn of its years I wouldn't remove this or any of their albums from their catalog. I would add that I don't blame Chris Slade for the issues many people have for this album. I think he was doing what he was told and he was just a part of the production of this album for better or worse. So I have all the international releases on CD including this one and I just listened to the whole thing cranked and it rocks.
