Brock lesnar vs Roman reigns at SummerSlam 2022 was absolutely incredible, Brock lifting the ring with a tractor, Paul heyman getting F5'd through the announce table etc..
If that was the official last match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, then it was great way to end the Broman program.
i still go back and watch that match
I love that match so much, definitely one the peak examples of sports entertainment done right
Yes. I remember being there live and watching it. It was one of the most chaotic things I’ve ever seen
I will probably give it a rewatch because I felt it was the usual, outplayed, Roman-Lesnar, until the ring lift.
The whole Invasion angle had amazing match quality in the main event scene. Rock, Austin, Angle, RVD, Booker T, and Jericho had some of their best work then.
Yeah, 2001 really is one of the best years if you just look at the quality of the PPV matches. And until I decided to finally watch the entire era on the network (didn't have WWE on Free TV back then), that was all I ever knew about WWF in 2001, so I never got why people hated that year. And to be honest, even the TV shows had some good to them. Like I genuinely think that heel-Austin was one of the most entertaining and creative phases of Austin's career. And it became obvious as soon as he turned back to babyface after Survivor Series, that the creative tank of the old Austin character was empty.
it’s kinda funny that if Lesnar did the Brock Party stuff today it would probably be much more well received cause of how his character has evolved
Wrestlemania 31 and 37 are some of the prime examples of Bad Builds, Fantastic shows
WM31 is good, but not fantastic. Try watching it without FF and sit through all the bloody padding that show has
I’ll always have some good memories associated with WM31 (aka Play Button). It was my first WrestleMania, and while I didn’t love everything, I thought it was a great show.
But…I was loving NXT more at the time, and I had also seen Wrestle Kingdom 9 (which literally changed my life), so my first WM was a bit muted.
The last great wrestlemania was 31, then is the shits because everybody had to get in the card and nobody cares except for the main event
@@misterwishart What's FF?
@@pablodiaz5325 I thought last year wrestlemania was pretty damn great. Almost every match delivered except for the main event of Night 2, and that’s only because Roman got injured.
I definitely think that a great match after an uninteresting or even cringe worthy feud is at least a nice prize for sitting through the rough parts of a feud that wasn't well thought out.
Sheamus vs Cesaro. The audience audibly groaned at Mick Foley putting them in a best of 7 series. 6 matches in, nobody cared. Then match 7 had everyone wanting more.
“STOP IT…WHY CANT I QUIT YOU!” 🤣🤣 So true. Sometimes it gets to the point you dont even know why your watching then something like Edges Rumble Return happens, or Rock Vs Hogan. And you realize this is why.
Cole's "Kickout by Sasha" messed it up a bit though 😂😂😂
That "Why can't I quit you!?" from Adam at the end.... Super felt by me prior to Summerslam last year... I was getting burnt out.... Then that night my kiddo watched it with me and he immediately latched on to the product. He loved Brock's tractor antics. He's been hooked ever since and it has helped me regain my enjoyment(not quite love, yet) out of the business.
The Debra stuff in the run up to WM 17 wasn't great, but I wouldn't dismiss the feud completely. I particularly liked the sit down interview with both Austin and Rock, where Austin hints at his future heel turn by explaining his "need" to become the WWF champ again after his long hiatus.
"Simple country hyperchicken" popped me so much. Love Futurama so much
The WM17 main event gave us probably the greatest promo video package of all time. Using Limp Bizkits song with the highlights of a terrible build in the best way possible is something that still to this day gives me the goosebumps.
Literally live Adam Blampied, been listening since WhatCulture and it always feels great to hear him and make his lists. But with this I must admit that when they booked Brock vs Roman in 2015 we would’ve never had imagined a great rivalry that everyone will be talking about in decades to come. Like the heist of the century was perfect and both men have changed drastically since their first encounter
The 6 man tag between Darby, Sting and Sammy Guevara vs AHFO at Revolution 2022 is another one for me; a build I was not a fan of that went completely balls to the wall with action and the first of Sting's many balcony dives last year!
Also want to give some love to NXT Vengeance Day last night, decently fun show overall
the feud between Miro & Kip Sabian and Best Friends was so awful (other than Miro calling Chuck Taylor "Charles"), but Arcade Anarchy was so good
I keep forgetting about that match, but it was really fun! Best Friends/Santana and Ortiz in the Parking Lot Brawl was great blow off as well
I'll still maintain that House of Black/Varsity Blondes had the fun idea of a teen slasher movie behind it. They didn't quite deliver on it, but I really enjoyed the freaks stalking the jocks.
It hurts my soul that this probably is setup to great feuds with horrible blow offs because a terrible ending is what I fear most in the Bloodline angle.
How do you want to see The bloodline angle end?!
@@jasonmarinezslowpoke8845 Sami/Jey winning the universal title with the help of Sami/Jey would be the perfect ending imo. Roman losing the bloodline, his titles and his wiseman would be the end to his character arc.
@@gauravshahi6334 What about the both the Usos cost Roman the titles at WM Night 2 after they lose their tag titles at Night 1?
Adam Blampied I just want you to know your videos are some of the most enjoyable things I watch on UA-cam. I still watch you 10 fascinating facts of Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and KOR on that dumpster fire of a channel where your videos are still the highest viewed despite not being there in 6 years. Please feel free to bring back the facts for other PPVs on this channel.
Come on now, mate. Wc still has Simon, and only because of him, they are still good, if not great channel. Imo, Simon and Adam are the two best personalities in the Internet wrestling community.
One love ❤️
Head over to No Rolls Barred if you love Adam and have even a passing interest in board games, I went over just for more Adam content and ended up falling in love with the whole gang and board games in general
Idc what anyone says, I may have hated the way Brock won money in the bank, but Brock WITH the briefcase afterwards was hilariously great
The Triple H/Kane feud growing out of the Katie Vick vomitus led to Trips and HBK having several bangers.
@@marcohavokkhaos I remembered it erroneously. I always thought the first shot fired was Shawn super kicking Trips after coming out of the coffin during the match with Kane to finish off the Katie Vick nonsense.
Thar storyline had nothing to do with Triple H vs HBK lol
This is actually an interesting topic that I've thought about before; especially nowadays people can hope straight to social media and nitpick storylines on a week to week basis, but ultimately what people take away from them in the long-term is whether it has a satisfying conclusion or not. The ends justifying the means.
Randy Orton absolutely roasted 😂😂
He's my favorite wrestler of all time....yet Adam is right though. I love all his stories. All his crazy promos. He's my fave because of his CHARACTER(s), not his matches. It is what it is😁.
The most true line that ever been spoken "I can't stop watching because I never know what's going to happen"
I have a idea you should make top 10 matches that were better than the main event matches video
Yeah, *FTR vs The Young Bucks* was a fantastic match, including the sequel in 2022. And, it was 2020 where many angles were questionable across promotions around the world (I'M LOOKING AT YOU NEW JAPAN WITH YOUR EVIL OVER PUSH!).
The Evil overpush literally turned me off NJPW.
Legit.
@@mjb2697
It wouldn't have bothered me if they had actually turned Evil into a believable top guy, but Gedo just saddled him with the typical shitty Bullet Club interferences in every match to the point where he came off as a loser.
Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte at Money in the Bank for me. That feud was so stupid, the crowd didn't care & was chanting for Becky at the beginning, but the match was so good those two won them over by the end.
Wrestling being Adam's addiction is very funny
I respected Adam being the first UA-camr to threaten murder for not subscribing
ultraviolet discos 😭😭 my biggest fear now is that they've had the incredible storyline aspect with the Bloodline, that the ultimate pay-off is never going to live up to it.
I thought Sheamus and Big Show blew off their feud at TLC 2012 not Hell in a Cell.
About number 2 and its go home Raw, LittleKuriboh's words on it will always stick with me:
(Imitating Lesnar and Reigns playing tug of war)
"Eh."
"Eh."
"Eh."
"It's mine."
"No it's mine."
"You're a jerk."
"No you're a jerk."
"Eh."
Definitely looking forward to the inverse of this list featuring Randy Orton at least 7 times.
Could you imagine if the invasion was actually good? I think if it was good it might have led to a second boom period.
I don't agree with number 3. The buildup to Rock vs Austin and the weeks leading up to it was amazing and the match itself felt like a huge deal, much more so than their first and last matches at Wrestlemania. Debra probably wasn't needed but it was still a great build
Honestly that build up had way too much Debra in for it own good. Also it reminds me of one of wrestlings habits, which is unnecessary drama being inserted into a feud that already has a huge amount of anticipation around, and I don't know why every company does it too.
They frustratingly muddied the water with Debra. But the TV was genuinely unmissable. Recently re watched a lot of that era and the crowds were absolutely fuckin molten week after week. They could only dream of that these days. The interview they had with JR was absolutely fantastic. Austin blew my tiny little teenage mind with the old "I need to beat you Rock. More than anything you could ever imagine.." monologue.
I have to object, Brock dancing with the briefcase like a boombox was quite fun.
I probably have my Austin blinders on, but I didn't quite mind the build up between Austin/Rock. The ending... though... Yeah...(No, still not a fan of Austin turning heel)
The one highlight of that Invasion storyline that was Paul Heyman's workshoot promo against Vince the SMACKDOWN before Survivor Series.
Stop. The feud between Big Show and Sheamus ruled. The segment between the WMD and Brouge Kick on Smackdown kicked ass. That feud was cool as hell. It’s one of 3 good things Sheamus did as champion in 2012.
Tbh, you could of just said instead of Rock vs Steve Austin, The Road to Wrestlemania 17 as a whole. what a lot of people forget is how bad most of the feuds were going into it.
Sheamus and big show feud started on hell in a cell where bigshow won the world championship. And it ended with the giant chair at TLC
In ring is JUST AS important as segments. And you can do great storytelling in both ways and with both ways. It’s like if with all that build to avengers endgame ended with a 2 minute final battle. Wrestling matters in PRO WRESTLING but a certain section of fans refuse to accept that for whatever reason (wwe brainwashing)
I was expecting Sasha Banks vs Bianca Belair to be number 1. That feud was nauseatingly awful!
Shelton Benjamin's ladder Un spot has always been my favourite, makes me so happy it's no#1.
One of my fav wrestlers, horribly underrated and underutilised.
When I was 13, my brothers and I watched the WWE vs WCW match (without having any context or knowledge about anything leading up to it) so many times because it was incredibly fun to watch, it is an epic match regardless of its messy storyline.
👍🏼👍🏼for a deep Futurama reference in there.
No 1 should be luke v Oli that ended for the wrestletalk championship
If this ever gets redone, Charlotte vs Rhea from this year would be on this surely
Is anyone going to say that Seth Rollins was one of the best of all times? Cant really see that right now.
I know someone who said Seth cashing in on Brock vs Roman ruined the match and it would of been a five star match without Seth 🤢
Help
Honorable Mention: Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero - Ladder Match - For the custody of Dominik - Summerslam 2005
I'd really like to see the favourite matches lists from more of the PartsFunKnowm/WrestleTalk cast.
I honestly haven't watched a complete episode of RAW or Smackdown since 2005, and ever since then I basically just kept an ear out for any good PPVs the company produced and bought those on DVD or nowadays watch them on the Network. Never watched a single episode of NXT, but loved every TakeOver show. If they do a good enough job recapping the story before or during the match, that's enough for me. And sometimes it's even better.
Best example: I wasn't able to watch WWF/WWE from like 2000 till mid-2003, due to them losing their free-TV slot in my country. So when I first watched Summerslam 2002 and the amazing Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H match, I had no clue about the story. I just knew that my all time favourite wrestler had returned to wrestling after 4 years, and I wanted to see it. Then they played that incredible video package before the match and that was all I needed to know about the story. That was enough to get me up to speed and get me hyped up for the match.
I don't need to see Hunter running around for an entire episode trying to find the culprit who attacked Shawn in the parking lot when it was obvious it was him the whole time. That entire "who did it"-story was just blatant padding because they had to come up with a way to stretch this story to four weeks. That's why I was never a big fan of weekly wrestling TV. Stretching out storylines over too many episodes like butter over too much bread.
Is this my favorite part of Sunday? Yeaaah
Say what you want. Boombox Brock was fun and I believe it was the first signs of current day Brock Lesnar where he is clearly actually enjoying his time performing.
The Brock Party thing was silly enough to appreciate for what it was.
Can you guys please do a list of excellent feuds with excellent final matches? I’m sure there’s some out there
Not gonna lie, I loved that segment with Brock and the boombox briefcase.
A tablespoon of cold piss. What is that? xD Amazing
Beast Box still cracks me up lol 😂
Roman vs Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31 was so boring to me until Rollins cashed in. I haven't watched it since the night it aired however at the time I felt that Lesnar was just going through the motions not selling for Roman at all. Only to actually sell for Rollins when he joined the match injecting life into a lifeless match.
I loved Aj and Shinsuke's feud but I wish their Wrestlemania match was way better and Shinsuke needs to be World Champion please god
11:32 ... That's probably the biggest, most painful and yet, the better truth about wrestling ever said ... I mean i was donde with WWE a few months ago with so much drama, and wrestlers let got and stuff ... And now with Triple H still in charge at the time, i kind of want to watch WrestleMania. So yeah ...
Looking back, I think The Rock should've been the WWF guy that led WCW since he would've felt betrayed that Austin and Vince's pact had happened and going to Hollywood would've rejuvenated him, but he was on WCW's side out of spite
Story is always more important than the match imo
You forgot about the shoot punch of Rebecca Michaels.
Whoah easy fellas, Sheamus vs Big Show fued was NOT worse than Sheamus vs Del Rio.
I actually thought that was the best Show had been in ages and the most tolerable Sheamus had been during that agreed, awful babyface run discussed.
Honorable mention:
Daniel Bryan vs Batista vs Randy Orton at Wrestlemania 30
The initial build might have been bad, but I liked Bryan taking over the ring with his "Yes movement".
Great Futurama reference
At number 2: how is Lesnar roman number 2? Horrible feud fantastic match.
At number 1: oh yeah. The invasion.
Magical teleporting Heath Slater
What tf does that mean lmao
Honorable mention: Bobby Lashley vs Drew McIntyre vs Braun Strowman at WrestleMania Backlash 2021.
5:45 they were trying to stretch this out until fans came back so that probably made things weird.
What unsanitary ways are there to end a night in New Castle? Adam?
Can you do more list around guess?
"It's the journey!"
Dancing Brock is always fun
Honourable mention to Bayley vs Sashas first takeover match, while not the worst build and it had the history attached to it, it was very rushed as Bayley just got back from injury so she had to quickly beat all the other horsewoman before taking on Sasha and the focus was more on the "Divas" revolution at the time. Still lead to one of my favourite matches of all time though.
Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks had a terrible feud but a good match
I have a sudden urge yo watch Paddington 2....
The beatbox briefcase makes sense.
Brock Lesnar was created with 2002 culture.
Surprised we didnt see the whole Rhonda/Becky/Charlotte feud listed. Was the feud good? No. Did it make sense? Also no. Was the blowoff match still really good? Yeah obviously
The FTR and bucks feud was shitty cuz I feel like neither team really wanted to be the loser of the feud
Can we get the opposite of this list? Brilliant feuds, terrible matches?
7:51 Dunno why WrestleMania X7 is twitching
PartsFunknown is a smark
Firefly Fun House Match > Great
L O L
luv u adam
Anyone else notice the text twitching on the last few??
rip Bray Wyatt
Undertaker vs cm punk in the road to WM. Punk making light of Paul bearer after his recent death and pouring his “ashes” all over his body was…….yeah.
Match however was great
Only good match at mania 29
Was wrestlemania x7 the end of rock vs Austin i mean they did wrestle again 2 years later at mania (in a better match)?
CM Punk vs The Undertaker from Mania 29
Okay everyone stealing the ic title was absolutely hilarious. I look back on it fondly. 😂
11:30 every single wrestling fan
Wait people got upset because Seth was talking about how rich he was? When was this and why was it important?
you should worst babyface list, or maybe biggest mistake wwe make with it's babyfaces
Can we all admit that Tony Khan can't book wrestling now? Sure he has some things he hits on but elsewise the TV comes across as being booked by a 12 year old. And I had forgotten about Debra's involvement in the Austin-Rock feud in '01. 😬 Not good
Unfortunately looks like Roman vs Brock isn’t over 💀
What happened to Quizzlemania?
Boombox Brock was awesome
Roman vs Sami is gonna be here soon
Didn’t care for the firefly funhouse match. Felt like an inside joke rather than a match.
