SummerSlam this year was lukewarm at best. It wasn’t freezing cold like last year, but it certainly wasn’t hot. They wanna continue this path of the Bloodline hogging all the main championships, that just lessens other competitors. The tag division has been practically neutered because the Usos have a stranglehold on the tag championships, and nobody believes Reigns has any viable competition because of how protected his booking is. I knew Lesnar wasn’t going to win, I knew the Usos were going to retain. When wrestling becomes predictable, it becomes boring. SummerSlam 2022, was boring. No amount of silly tractors or fake out cash ins can change that.

This year’s Summerslam was one of the best. It’s definitely my favorite since 2013. There was just one bad moment, which was Liv vs Ronda. The match and the finish was terrible but the rest of the show was great! The main event was honestly my favorite match of the night and the best match Brock and Roman has ever had together.
I will say this.....some of the Summerslams on this list had some great theme music that i do enjoy. Godsmack enemy 2006, Rip it up 2010, Summertime Blues 2004. I own summerslam 2004 on dvd.
There was a Summerslam (i think 2016) where the best match was at the kick off show between New Day and Usos (it was the same year they had the glorious hell in a cell rematch).

WWE Summer Slam 2010 was bunkers. The World Heavyweight and WWE Championship scenes were put to the side with it's feuds not the best. And, the main event witnessing weeks of pushing the Black & Yellow group - The Nexus - to only lose against Super Cena and all 7 got buried, never to recover ever again.

It feels like the ending of the elimination tag at 2010 should have been Bryan staring down Barrett, the guy who kicked him out on the group's first night as a unit. Bryan coming back was a huge x-factor but there was a great way to work it into the storyline going forward had the Nexus actually been allowed to continue dominating.
For me, the 2004 Summerslam will always be remembered as the night that Edge’s hometown of Toronto Canada booed him out of the arena. (Also Hot Take, but I actually like the Mick Foley vs Ric Flair match.)

I only tuned into Summerslam '22 already expecting sh*t! The card wasn't great and it felt like the same ol rinse and repeat. But holy hell Summerslam was great. It had no right to be better, but it was. Bianca/Lynch III was masterful storytelling and BAYLEY returned with IYO and Dakota Kai were with her! Vince may have already wrote it but HHH tweaked it. I hate to admit that Logan Paul in Wwe is alright but his match against Miz was a lot better than most of the matches on the card. The tag matchs felt a little flat and there was some squashes but none of it felt rushed or forced this time. Still pretty solid action with a few breaks. Then the main event which should have been a disaster, two overrated big men that have bored the hell out of us since 2015. They wrestled each other so much that it became cringe, however that much was 30 minutes of entertainment! Not to mention Brock's celebratory farewell after the show, Summerslam this year was a nice 8/10.👌
I'll get this out of the way with the first entry: "baffling booking decisions like becky squashing bianca". Judging from how this aged, especially after the show yesterday, are we really going to say this was "baffling"? Edit: You know, I find it funny how I mentioned on the best summerslam list that I'd give 97 an honorable mention specifically because of the main event and the influence of the show but I forgot about the rest of it. Very weird ups and downs that show had.
I thought the Becky squash of Bianca was good last year, considering it was the lightning rod for their great rivalry that lasted a whole year. If you looked in hindsight, you'd say "that had it's place", but at the time people loved freaking out about it so their awesome rivalry will never be recognized for how great it was in order to validate the freak out.

It was obvious to me that the moment was used not only for shock value but to kickstart a rivalry off the back of becky screwing bianca while she wasn't ready for it, which is exactly where they went with it in the end.

Allister vs big e would've been a cool opener for sure but he got fired.lynch wasn't even back yet so facing Ripley makes no sense. No show banks did what she does best and no showed summerslam. And the tags team matches were fine
Apparently the Harris Brothers just had a poor understanding of what they were tattooing on themselves when they got those tattoos. Both have been pretty apologetic about it.
Summerslam 97 was not perfect, but it was a great event. Mankind vs. Triple H Steel cage match was great, Stone Cold vs. Owen Hart for the Intercontinental championship was very good despite Austin's scary injury and the wwe championship match with Undertaker vs. Bret Hart was good as well. That event was a turning point for the wwe, and it was the unofficial launch of the attitude era.
Lets not forget that last year's Summerslam had the Nestle segment, where the crowd had none of it.

Very interesting. Plus the next night, Lita (and Matt) helped Edge retain his IC title over Kane. You could say that’s when the seed was planted.

Summerslam's biggest issue is that it comes right after MiTB, which is one of the best gimmick ppvs imo.

Edit: You know, I find it funny how I mentioned on the best summerslam list that I'd give 97 an honorable mention specifically because of the main event and the influence of the show but I forgot about the rest of it. Very weird ups and downs that show had.
I thought the Becky squash of Bianca was good last year, considering it was the lightning rod for their great rivalry that lasted a whole year. If you looked in hindsight, you'd say "that had it's place", but at the time people loved freaking out about it so their awesome rivalry will never be recognized for how great it was in order to validate the freak out.
@@thebigbop5866 i felt back then that everyone overreacted and I feel that way even moreso now. It was obvious to me that the moment was used not only for shock value but to kickstart a rivalry off the back of becky screwing bianca while she wasn't ready for it, which is exactly where they went with it in the end.
@@blacktytrix These people just like to flip out over everything, even if WWE gets better they're still going to find stuff to flip out about, they are shortsighted which is surprising considering how savvy they all think they are about these things.

What the ic title needs is consistent booking and interesting personal rivalries. Allister vs big e would've been a cool opener for sure but he got fired.lynch wasn't even back yet so facing Ripley makes no sense. No show banks did what she does best and no showed summerslam. And the tags team matches were fine

The Summerslam 2004 was silly.
Apparently the Harris Brothers just had a poor understanding of what they were tattooing on themselves when they got those tattoos. Both have been pretty apologetic about it.
What I hated about the 2021 edition was
1: Charlotte winning
2: Bianca getting squashed
3: The Alexa/Eva Marie match

Summerslam 97 was not perfect, but it was a great event. Mankind vs. Triple H Steel cage match was great, Stone Cold vs. Owen Hart for the Intercontinental championship was very good despite Austin's scary injury and the wwe championship match with Undertaker vs. Bret Hart was good as well. That event was a turning point for the wwe, and it was the unofficial launch of the attitude era.
