  • Is this city in Malta becoming the new Sliema ? Exploring Marsaskala in todays video. Located in the south eastern region of Malta, i explored Marsaskala which is a beautiful coastal town in Malta visited by many tourists. I was surprised to see that the town is mixed of everything, it has a traditional and modern vibe. It offers a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. It is more quite than Sliema and it is a great town for families in Malta.

Visiting Marsaskala for the first time next week from Devon UK.
Perfect timing for this video. We definitely made the right choice of area, having been to Melleha area a few times. Close to airport, Prehistoric Temples & caves, quiet, less construction, Boutique hotels very reasonably priced, etc. Can't wait! Thanks for your excellent videos. Love from Val & Bill x

These types of videos are extremely helpful! Thank you Alex! I will definitely put Marsaskala on my list for apartment search. It has a lot of what I’m looking for: walk-ability, restaurants, shops, seaview and quieter than central Malta. More videos like this please? 😀❤

Thank you for showcasing Marsaskala in this video! I remember liking it a good deal when I lived there -- and my compatriot during that time and I went to that traditional Maltese restaurant you pointed out, Familja, for lunch, and we thought the food and service and decor were all great! A bit to the north on the coast from the promenade you were walking with the rocky beach and children's play area was another place my nephew and I had lunch at Zion, a chill, laid-back place. Try that place out maybe for a casual meal--great food and drinks!

The problem with Marsascala nowadays is accessibility. The place itself gas grown exponentially in the last 20 years, drawing to it immense flows of traffic. This traffic has to flow, itself, through other very busy towns, namely Fgura, Żabbar or Żejtun. So one can imagine how busy and clogged these access roads to Marsascala are! Taking the bus, whether in or out of Marsascala can also be problematic. The town lies at the edge of the island, so getting anywhere will take time, plus you will have to navigate through heavy traffic, as i said earlier. Also, buses to Marsascala tend to be very crowded, till the very last stop. So, yes, Marsascala itself is great, but living there comes with some difficulties which people who need to travel in and out of the place should consider well.

Thats not St.Thomas Area…. Thats the Old Part the Promenade. St.Thomas area is only in the area where there is Zion, the villas etc…. I live my whole life in Marsaskala and I know this very well. Also do not go to St. Thomas Bay (Ramla Bay) in summer is packed with the worst types of people! Many more clean and beautiful beaches in Marsaskala. And the Feast of St.Anne is held on the last Sunday of July. This guy doesn’t know about marsaskala he just wants to sell Apartments lol.
