  • This clip will show you how to thread the shuttle with the bobbin thread, and connect both together correctly, on your Chinese Manual Hand Crank Leather Patcher Walking Foot Sewing Machine. This is part of a series of videos I have made to show literally step by step how to work with and maintain these machines. If you treat them right, and use the correct needle thread combos, they will virtually perform any sewing task for you,

hi Graham, thank you for your videos. I tried to set up the sewing machine according to your instructions, but unfortunately it does not sew. It looks like it doesn't take the lower thread. There are only holes in the leather, but it does not take the thread. Do you have any idea where could be problem? Thank you

I recently bought this and I’m having the same problem you did, did you ever find a solution?

Sorry for late reply... been off the channel quite a long time... check all the videos I have uploaded in the playlist. That will get virtually any machine working okay.

    Hi Graham,
Your videos have helped alot. I was following your series and followed every steps on your videos. However, my machine did not seem to be able to move at all. The needle does not move forward at all. Could you help me?
    Thanks
    Cynthia

The machine may have come without being tested and adjusted in the factory. Lots of nuts and bolts to tighten or loosen, and it may take an hour or two to learn your machine, watching how each part moves, or feeling which part may be locked up (too tight). If you don't have tools you'll need to go get a simple kit, including small needle nose pliers, adjustable wrench, a small screwdriver set, regular pliers. Cleaning off the packing grease will also help; it's not actually good lubricant, just anti-rust. I built a completely new stand, since the tripod is absolutely worthless. Once you get this thing running it will be absolutely worth the trouble.

@@drengr2759 Thanks Corey. Despite numerous hours spent on the machine, the foot does not seem to forward forward at all....
