    ============
Thank you to Randy's parents, Harold and Alberta Leach, for their support in bringing us into their family to help find Randy here in Linwood, KS to help bring him home.
Special thanks to Larry and Betty Wilson, along with their daughter Elizebeth. Thank you!
In this episode of Adventures with Purpose, we travel to Linwood, KS from Oregon in search of Randy Leach who has been missing for 32-years.
    Missing Since: 04/15/1988
    Missing From: Linwood, Kansas
    Classification Non-Family Abduction
    Sex: Male
    Race: White
    Date of Birth: 07/25/1970 (50)
    Age: 17 years old
Height and Weight: 6'3, 220 pounds
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A blue pocket t-shirt, blue Levi's jeans, white low-cut sneakers and white socks.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Brown hair, blue eyes. Randy has a mole on his left ear.
On April 16, 1988, Harold and Alberta Leach of Linwood, Kansas reported the disappearance of their son, Randy Wayne Leach, to the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Department.
Subsequent investigation determined that Leach was last seen in the early morning hours of April 16, 1988, at a high school pre-graduation party given by a classmate in rural Leavenworth County, Kansas.
Leach had driven to the party in his mother's gray 1985 Dodge 600 4-door sedan.
During the course of the investigation, no one was located who saw Leach or his vehicle leave the party.
To date, neither Leach nor his vehicle has been located.
The investigation to date has produced sufficient information to believe that Leach has been the victim of foul play in this missing person case.
The deeper we got into this investigation, the stranger it became.
Was Randy part of a sacrifice?
Was he taken out for witnessing a drug shipment gone wrong?
Did he end up in the trunk of his mother's car and driven across state lines to be disposed of in a car shredder?
Is there a police cover-up in this small rural community?
While we feel there are people who know what happened to Randy, there also is a reason they have not come forward.
Even though Harold and Alberta would like to find out who is responsible for Randy's disappearance, the only thing they want more is to find Randy.
Larry and Betty have set up a FB Page in Search of Randy Leach.

Gut feeling is Kim Erwin knows a whole lot about what happened that night. If she has any ex-boyfriends or ex-husbands who can be tracked down, it'd be worth talking to them in my humble opinion. Same goes for her mother. With the passage of time, loyalties and values change. Love and prayers for Randy, LeAnn and the Leach family.

I was a television and news reporter years ago and am very critical of current day news reporters. You Jared are one of the best interviewers I have seen in years. Professionals could learn a lot by watching you. Thank you and Sam for all that you do for all the people you have helped. And Leanne is such an intelligent, acute, insightful person. She has nothing to feel guilty about. I'm sure she is still wary and cautious in her life. Murderers and drug-dealers might not like attention called to their past dirty deeds. My heart and prayers are with you Leanne. My deepest sympathy to Alberta and the family. So sorry Harold didn't get any answers about his son before he passed.

Here are my totally unprofessional thoughts about that case. I still believe some of these teens from back then know something. He is not buried under the house, who would burn the house if someone is buried in the basement? Danger of being dug out when the ruin is torn down. No, you would want this house untouched as long as possible. BUT that "party" family moved shorty after? That is really sketchy. I would have looked into anyone who was involved in that party and moved away after Randy disappeared. I hope they find him some day or someone comes forward. 💕

The thing that I find odd is that more were not looking for him that evening, and it was even stranger that no-one went by his home to check on him, nor to inform his parents.

When my dad was 18, his girlfriend, her sister, and her sister‘s boyfriend all went over the side of a bridge in (Late 80s maybe early 90s.). they had stopped at my dads house a couple hours before to try to get him to go along but he decided to stay home. The boyfriend was drinking and driving and ended up going over the side of a bridge. My dad‘s girlfriend and her sister died. The boyfriend survived. I remember hearing him tell me about as a little kid having to walk up and down the river bank searching for her. 💔 they found both sisters a few days after the crash
I can’t imagine losing both daughters in one night. And then having to search for them.

      @kimb5693 2 місяці тому

The description sounds like the effects of an LSD drug. Someone could have put it in his food or his soft drink and then watched it take affect and took his keys. He was trying to leave and then Leann ran into him and she noticed him not functioning and put him in her car to keep him from hurting himself, and while she was at the house waiting to use the bathroom, Kim’s drug dealers got to Randy could have knocked him out and put him in his car and drove him somewhere and killed him and disposed of his body and probably drove his car to the next city and disposed of it. It would be good for the police to find that girl, Kim and do surveillance and then an interview.

Am i the only 1 who noticed she vaguely mentioned a boyfriend & that they'd argued at the party & the b/f left early. Is it not possible the b/f returned while she was inside & found Randy in the passenger seat of her car & something ensued from that? & she may have never even suspected that & naturally the b/f would go to great lengths to keep it from her IF he was involved or knew anything about it because of Randy being her friend.
Idk i'd just like to hear more about the b/f. How long was she dating, how well did she know him, how long did he stay in that town afterwords, etc. because in my opinion that IS a very plausible scenario that wasnt even mentioned.

Randy Leach was a popular, tall (6"3'), good-looking Linwood High School senior athlete back in 1988. I hate to play devil's advocate or FBI profiler 🙄 BUT for the sake of being thorough (and "checking off all the boxes"), law enforcement throughout the U.S. follow a specific procedure once a missing person is reported. However, this investigation wasn't taken seriously by local police (initially) so PRIORITY to PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE EVIDENCE was not done. Still, local police say Randy was "last seen" at a well attended rural pre-grad party (the home burned to the ground by the time police got to it). SO... if what LeeAnn is saying is true and SHE was the last person to see Randy Leach alive, do detectives at the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation have all of this...? Do they know Randy was in her car minutes before he went missing? 🤨 Have they done forensics on her car? 🧐

    • @tonyperkis4154

Randy was not popular. He was not hated, but not popular and not an athlete. It’s pretty well known the house was burned down by one of Randy’s family members. His best friend was the DD for everyone that night supposedly. Same guy who apparently has never had anything to do with the Facebook page and everything else Randy’s classmates put on. Which includes the party host and the guy who was the “lead suspect” until 2005.
This was an accidental death, and a cover up situation. Just so many red herrings because of bad police work and Randy’s family taking matters into their own hands. They need a confession. That’s the only way this will be solved.

It's Alberta's car that seems key to solving this case, if he was trippin so hard he couldn't find his pockets, he would struggle to drive, so if his car isn't located driven off a road into a body of water, why wasn't it still parked on the neighbour's drive when everyone turned up looking for him the next day.
So... someone got rid of the car.

    • @gwenprice9290
      @gwenprice9290 Рік тому

Yes, the same person or persons who got his keys somehow and slipped him a drug. Who owned the house and property where the party was held? Odd that there was a pond dug behind that house. Is it possible that his body and car was hidden temporarily until the heat died down, then the pond was dug on the property. What was done with the dirt? Is it possible that the body was thrown into the body of water where the cadaver dogs hit? The car was later hidden with the dirt dug up to make the pond or the body was moved there at the time the pond was dug and then it was filled with water or the car was was placed in the pond at that time from it's hiding place . That pond was never searched by anyone. Whoever burned the house down and benefitted from the insurance money was still active around the area after the fact of Randy going missing. The root of all the evil is connected to drugs and there was a drug dealer and later mudererer who neighbored the party house!!!

I wanted to call BS on this, considered giving it a pass, glad I didn't!
It is easy to recognize that LeAnn is doing this running on memory, which I must say is quite good given how many years have passed.
I am a few years older than Randy would be, I graduated in 1982, but my memories of some of those days are not as easily remembered these days. It sure did take me back and sounds so much like the parties in my neck-of-the-woods back in the day.

I think your getting close. Its what LeAnn left out that brings the following questions.
1). What were she and her boyfriend arguing about that night?
2). Where did her boyfriend go after arguing ?
3). Were any of her boyfriend's buddies at party?
4). When she left Randy in her car while she got in line to bathroom did she tell anyone Randy was in her car and she's taking him home was her boyfriend still their?
5). What lakes or ponds did her boyfriend and his friend who lived accross the street from party hang out at?
6). Another RL video it mentioned in a county next door a bag with human body parts was found and never identified who was it?
I believe it's possible unusually drunken or drugged people acted on exaggerated jealousy that may have led to Randy's death. And I think LeeAnn suspects this possibility as well and that's where some guilt may lie.
It's possible she is coming forward to both bring attention to whom she thinks is responsible or distance herself from a conspiracy or both.
Sorry but in investigations like this everyone is suspect. We are all still grateful for her coming forward regardless of any possible outcome

She said she thinks there were at least 3 people involved in the MURDER, I think she knows more than she's letting on, just my opinion?

I am 30 minutes in but I would like to share my own gut feelings. I know there is so many comments that this may never be read, but please don't take this personally. I don't know why, but from what I have heard so far.. this interview is bringing gut feelings of survivors guilt. If LeeAnn or family is reading this, please don't feel offended by my comment, as I said, gut feeling that is likely completely wrong, but you know what they say. I feel this is too cut and dry.
Timeline. 15 minutes from locking him in the car to no trace ever again. Scary. I can't imagine what that would be like. Weighing the situation, is it more likely that within 15 minutes someone disappears from the face of the planet? Or is it more likely that an hour and a half gives enough time to make that happen? I don't think LeeAnn had anything to do with the outcome NO MATTER WHAT. But.. one of the most common symptoms of survivors guilt is staying as close and as involved in the case as possible. You want to be a part of it, you throw yourself into the search, into the family because of the guilt of knowing more about what may have happened.
Simple details left out are also the MOST CRUCIAL details that would help solve his disappearance. I feel terrible for bringing any doubt into this situation as an outsider, so PLEASE. Feel no offense to this as I'm talking out my ass. Something is nagging me about nobody else having as much interest into this case as much as LeeAnn. I grew up in kansas, I know what these rural parties are like. How does she know nothing of Flannigan? NOTHING? Okay, even in small towns, if you don't hangout in certain crowds, you can be removed from certain people. Yes. But Flannigan was a neighbor and she talks of being friends with Erwins and living within walking distance.. Flannigan was also a fairly well known person in many groups from what i've heard. Weird. Not impossible, but unlikely.
The part about saying she thinks it was somewhat "local", not KC kids that were involved, but maybe in relation to this girlfriend at the time that was involved with a rougher crowd. It may mean nothing but it gives a separation of events. Kind of a "No need to look that direction" kind of feel. I was involved with bad crowds in highschool. I can tell you that nobody, even and especially people involved with drugs, would care enough about somebodies straight and narrow boyfriend to want to "take them out". Druggies in highschool fear cops and don't want any other reason for them to be looked into by police. They hang with their own crowd and if somebodies boyfriend isn't into drugs, they would try to stay away from a possible witness/narc.
Using GHB/Roofies in highschool to get someone messed up on accident or on purpose doesn't happen, maybe with older crowds and women, but people (especially highschoolers or other low-income druggies) aren't going to waste EXPENSIVE drugs in a small town to do whatever may have made him disappear within 15 minutes.

@@TwoAPTMLMusicProductions the mob was and probably still is very active there. I live about 30 miles away from there, and it's well known to be the case. Even the police are involved in these small towns. Used to get weed from a cop in my town year's ago, until they got busted, but it's been known to be far worse where this crime happened. Back in the 80s all the big players were there. There's an ammunition plant that is close and was in operation Back then, so you had a lot of shady characters around. The mob is still there, and there are a lot of powerful families close by in KC. This community is within spitting distance of every single disgusting thing that happens regularly in large cities. There's even a local rap artist that mentions this area in a song about some gang troubles. The shady people are there, and still in business.

does no one think that this is a wierd story? so she was making her rounds to say goodbye and was on her way to her car when she saw him standing there wasted and searching for his keys, she then puts him in her car locks the doors and suddenly she needs to go inside to toilet for 15min? its obviously something fishy about that, then she comes out and sees that he is gone and his car is gone? and starts searching around the house for 45min even when his car is gone? after that she starts driving around for another 45min to search for him? my gut feeling is that she is involved and knows what happend

True...or his body could be put into the septic tank at the party house or drug dealers house next door...I think nat Erwins house ,because she moved so fast...just like we think Heather Elvis's body is put into the Moorer's septic tank because they've searched that pond and she's not there so the only other explanation is into that home's septic tank ,but by law they can't check that...they don't have the permission...her car was found okay, she was taken from her car by the Moorers....running around with the husband,he had a jealous, violent wife...

Given LeeAnn's care and concern for her friend on the night I have a feeling that her need for the bathroom probably saved her life. Anyone who had no qualms about administering what she suspected was given to Randy would have had no problem "disposing" of her too. LeeAnn you survived to continue to stand up for Randy and justice on his behalf. It seems like you did everything and more that you could have. Don't judge your teenage self by the knowledge and experience that you now have as an adult.
