I came from the future to tell you that Maul has an epic duel with Ahsoka in Season 7 of The Clone Wars, and that Obi-Wan finally kills Maul for good on Tatooine in Rebels. It was a quick, peaceful and brilliant final duel between them.

If Maul killed Dooku and Grievous at the same time he captured them Darth Sidious would have incredible big problems. Entire his plan started to collapse. And than when Jedi arrived go and speak with them-telling them that Clone Wars are over, that Grievous and Dooku died and it is time to deal with Sidious. But unfortunately to Maul, he was not smart enough.
Maul eventually ended up on Tatooine where he confronted Obi Wan to kill him once and for all. During the battle,he found out that Obi Wan was there for a reason,knowing he was protecting young Luke Skywalker,however,Maul ultimately was defeated with his last few moments alive being asking if it was the Chosen One who Obi Wan was protecting and with his final words being that Luke was the one who would avenge them all,both the Sith and Jedi who were defeated by Sidius.

I hope you realize that the current and official canon has only started in April 2014, which was not that long ago. They will definitely make more comics, spin-off films and shows to follow up on much more material. The only reason why Legends is so big, is because it has been developing since the late 80's, with most of it being ridiculous by the way.

If you want to complain about how some things are animated, go complain to him. In all honesty though, The Clone Wars was pretty childish too for its movie and first two seasons, and the first half of the third season. Rebels is already making progress in most of season two, especially for its finale. That show has potential. Give it some time.

Ruben Manssens The 2003 Clone Wars series seemed as if Michael Bay directed it. More action, more explosions, but a lot less story. The 2008 Clone Wars series actually has great stories and arcs, and fits completely within Star Wars lore.
