The Hidden Village of Hindukush | NASFF 2022 | Waseem Alam

This documentary film depicts the lifestyle and the beautiful culture of Kakunikie, a village located in the Hindukush mountain range in Ghizer. Few places on earth have gained such a reputation for their raw and natural beauty as the northern region of Pakistan.This region has remained one of the most scenic and secluded areas for centuries. Surrounded by the world’s highest mountains and surviving in harsh weather conditions for centuries, the people here have developed their own unique culture, cuisines and rituals. For the first time ever, we uncover the lifestyle in one of the most remote villages of the Hindukush mountain range in Gilgit-Baltistan...a place so remote that even the people living a few miles away haven’t heard of its name.
From the turquoise waters of Arabian Sea to some of the highest summits on the planet, Pakistan’s unique geography is an endowment not many countries can rival. There is a need to showcase the diverse landscape, rich culture and ancient heritage of the marvel, called Pakistan.
