- An extended "what are we doing to ourselves and why" discussion with the founder of the Fraudulent Archaeology Wall of Shame group on Facebook (Andy) and three of the four active admins (Carl, JA, and Pablo). This was our first attempt to do something like this and we hope to make it a somewhat regular event.
Do you wonder what the FAWOS is for?
Do you wonder why your post got declined?
Do you wonder why you got kicked out?
Maybe this conversation will hold some answers for you. The truth is out there.
For rejecting so many people, I appreciate you guys accepting me to the page. I can be the bud of a joke sometimes, but I enjoy your perspectives & learn a lot.
Welcome. It's probationary, but that's true for many many people in the group. It can be a hard place for people who are thin-skinned or really intent on defending nonsense.
Thank you
I got into this group because of Pablo. Thanks, Pablo! And, Pablo also turned me on to Michael Heiser. This group has opened my knowledge to so many aspects of archaeology I didn't even know existed. I'm a devoted fan of FAWOS. Thanks, guys, for educating me!
I am so glad. You have been a valuable member since the early days!
Thank you Elizabeth!
This group has been really good for my sanity after seeing so much other pseudoscientific nonsense on social media. Good to have some like minded folks who believe in actual evidence. Thanks for all your effort there.
You guys are great. More please, Andy.
That's the plan! Probably not on any rigid timetable, though. We're all too busy fighting evil.
@@AndrewWhite33 And shovel testing future fish-cleaning stations for campgrounds... which is sorta the same thing.
Now I know: submitted to join. Don't let me in: nothing but trouble. Loved the mention of Omni, In Search Of and CS's Demon Haunted World. You guys might be my people. Maybe.
I put in a good word for you. I'm not involved in the day-to-day admin stuff, though, and they get a lot of requests.
@AndrewWhite33
Appreciate it. Especially loved the tale of the Sword. So many mutant alt.arch positions, and too little time.
Its true everything does get regurgitated over and over again.
I know a couple people who buy into some of the goofy pseudohistory rubbish from the likes of hancock etc and it was frustrating when I tried to talk to them about it, I hope you guys can help combat this junk history better than I did, it was like they didn't want to listen and I couldn't make them so nothing changed...
