Motorcyle Diary: July 24, 2024 (Penfield, Rankin, Armstrong, Potomac, Rantoul Honda Rebel 250)
My longest trip yet: about 100 miles though a section of east Central Illinois (Penfield, Rankin, Cissna Park, Potomac, Armstrong, and Rantoul). I had my first experience riding in the rain (not on purpose).
Some of these little rural towns are doing much better than others.

I made my first foray into downtown Urbana to get my wife a pastry from Bake Lab. This was the urban riding I have done so far, but the weather was nice, the traffic was light (early Saturday morning), and I was on familiar roads. I took the long way home, going out toward St. Joseph on Windsor and back on US 150. I got my first biker wave and I saw a kid out in the country staring at me with g...

My appreciation for the little Honda Rebel 250 grows along with my confidence. After practicing for a few days in the driveway I started taking the bike out on the road. I watched a video of another Rebel 250 owner with the same problem, and he solved it by replacing the turn signal relay located under the seat. I made this scrap metal seahorse sculpture for West Columbia's 2018 Kinetic Derby Day. The city later bought it, and as far as I know it's still on display in West Columbia, SC. The original video had the Guns 'n' Roses song "Rocket Queen," but that got the video blocked when I originally uploaded it years ago. So I replaced the music with one of my own songs.

    In 1865 John Keely purchased a three piece set of machinery from a con man in New Jersey machine shop, who was bilking a doctor out of vast sums of money. The same things were later seen in the back of first floor Keely work shop in Philadelphia. The 40HP engine ran on the building gas line and was used to operate a 30,000 lb pressure hydraulic liquid screw type pump. The steel sphere would fill MOSTLY up with 23000ls water, leaving air space in the upper top. A TOP fitting and valves would send air pressure through under floor heavy walled brass tubing all around the building. The MOISTURIZED air at 23,000lbs was used for various demonstrations. Other small tanks wee also refilled by that sphere tank. Later, after Keely died, when workmen were dismantling the workshop, and removing everything, they found the sphere in the old coal bin under the main floor trap door. Other people already knew it was in the building, but did not at all get suspicious. They whacked it with a hammer, and the whole building had weird whining ghost sounds emanating from all the tubing , that scared the men out of the building. New workers had to be hired to finish clean up.

    • @waterfuel
      @waterfuel 11 днів тому

      The Keely LIBERATOR named device was a unit with tuning forks on plate with upper section as vertical with a wind up fan. The lower section had very heavy horizontal pressure tank bracket mounted . The output tubing for tests hooked to a weight scales with vertical air cylinder that would most definitely lift 23000 lbs. People were held behind roped off area as demonstration. Mr. Keely would release the NOISY fan for 15 seconds that covered up the sound of air release of the inner previously charged air pressure tank, into the space in between the tanks. (Inner + outer pressure tank) You can press your tiny tire air valve and it will release air outward. That's how Keely fooled his investors. The left end hand valve on tank would push inward the rod that pushed in the inner air spring valve release. Mr. Keely told visitors that the tank was extremely heavy due to thick steel walls. The heaviness came from two tanks together. Visitors were allowed to pour water into the left end turn valve of tank to show flow of water outward and drip out opposite end . They were then assured that the visible tank was fully empty. The other stand had a stop valve before the air cylinder. When opened, the negative 14 to 1 lever arm would lift it's weight showing 23,000lbs as work done. Read on line, or special order inter library loan photo copies of Jan 29, 1899, pages 16, 17, 18 19, N.Y. Journal And Advertiser - Keely The Monumental Fraud Of The Century. (fraud deceit and drawings on how exactly many were done.

  • @waterfuel
    @waterfuel 11 днів тому

    Some of the inventor's John Keely devices were fraud. Many others were real. The water to pressure Disintegrater of late 1800's, had 2 uses to show 23000lbs pressure. The hollow steel ball resonance chamber with water drops converted from array of tuning forks and ratios of inharmonic vibrations, had showed a left over gummy substance after about 100 expulsions. He said he could not account for that. NOWDAYS in our present time, many people already know that 1 of every 5000 molecules of water is Deuterium/heavy water. The preset vibrations did not affect that part of the water , and had slightly built up in chamber. That's why his device was real. Do research by typing words.

I've given Rush a try several times over the years and it just never does it for me. @@AndrewWhite33 there’s an interesting case to be made that the easter island polygonal masonry wall may have actually been Inca. Two or three early spanish chroniclers recorded the Incas oral history, where they told of Topa Inca sailing out on an expedition with thousands of men and conquering two islands off of the coast. And the Easter Islanders had some legends about a different race of long eared people arriving from the east. The Inca nobility stretched out their ears and were called Orejones by the Spanish. The trade winds also loop up through the marquesas islands and then back down past easter island before returning to the south american coast. And genetic studies show that south american dna arrived in the pacific islands around 1200 ad, including easter island, so we know that contact with pacific islanders was already occurring well before the Inca.

    • @AndrewWhite33
      @AndrewWhite33 16 днів тому

      @@TonyTrupp That's interesting and something I would need to look into. To me, meaningful contact between the Pacific and South/Central America doesn't seem at all like a stretch. What does seem like a stretch is the assumption that all the polygonal stonework around the world was done by the same people, regardless of time, geography, or other aspects of culture.

    For concepts of "aryans", try Arthur de Gobineau "An Essay on the Inequality of the Human Races" (1853). Gobineau probably wasn't the first, but he is infamous for doing a systematic study of sorts. Long poisonous shadow on that one. Related, Mormonism had to get the idea of non-First Nations origin for the mounds of the Ohio Valley from somewhere. So similar ideas can be found, older, with only the slightest whiff of British Israelite teaching (from John Wilson to bloody John Milton).
