    Most people believe that the copper helps with healing knee joint problems and will use it for knee arthritis and other knee pain problems.
    But the copper is really an anti-microbial that helps with keeping the brace from getting smelly so fast.
    There’s no research to our knowledge that shows that copper helps with inflammation, swelling, increasing blood flow, improving osteoarthritis, healing cartilage, or healing a torn meniscus.
    Knee braces in general are shown to help with knee pain and are often used for knee pain treatment.

    I dislocated my knee when I was 16, and since then, I've had to deal with it wobbling due to weakness, and a great deal of pain. My dad bought a copper fit sleeve (the one without the straps), and it's the best option I've found so far. Helps more than any other brace I've tried.

    This is the problem with the studies:
    1) The copper was worn on the wrists only and was not of sufficient weight and or purity to overcome the electrical resistor of the body. Pain is electrical in nature and registered in the brain.
    2) If you wear a pure copper or pure silver necklace of sufficient weight (in my case 3oz) it will effectively neutralize pain signals to a significant degree and overcome the resistor body.
    3) I have cervical injuries and arthritis and the copper and silver necklaces have greatly reduced pain from the upper spinal region and the body in general.
    So, this is why the studies failed to demonstrate the effectiveness for pain relief of wearing copper. Without electricity flowing through our bodies we would all drop dead instantly.
    Pain is an electrical signal. Pure silver and copper are the greatest conductors of electricity.

    I just came from my doctor (MD) He suggested I get one of these for an arthritic knee. I've noticed it's actually a sleeve and not necessarily a brace.

    Colloidal copper is excellent though, as well as copper rich foods like cashews.

    Actually I like the idea of being able to place the heat/cold pack into the brace

    Hey Dr I'm 41 years old and i have over 100 fractures in my body you think it's good these knee pad or stuff work for physical work it fill more secure

      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  2 роки тому

      Sorry to hear about your 100 fractures Jose :-(
      That must have been traumatic to go through. You'll have to test it and see for your self if these knee braces work for you. There's no 100% guarantee that your knee will feel better. Especially with your history, you've got to likely work on your mobility. You have a unique situation and would likely benefit from seeing a healthcare specialist in person.

    It's a pretty cheap product so if it's as good as any other brace I suppose it's worth getting.

      Hey S Des! It might be good for you, but you might need a higher brace. This video will guide you on what brace you need.

    Thank you for the video!
    I was wondering if you can do a video on taping the knee for Tibial external rotation dislocation.
    I have torn my meniscus and have arthritis in both knees. I get bakers cysts there also.
    Anyway, my knee regularly comes out of socket and I’m worried about blood clots and nerve damage, not to mention the pain.
    I will look at your knee brace shopping video in the meantime.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  3 роки тому

      Hey ShaunazTweet! That’s a really specific issue! I’ll pass this over to Dr. David and see if he can do that.
      Sorry to hear about your Bakers Cysts too, that’s no fun :-(
      Typically with a knee instability like it sounds you might have, a knee brace with brackets on the sides will help most. You’ll learn about that in our knee brace shopping video for sure.

    Isn't the copper just for odor reduction? Says that's what they use it for on the Amazon description, so yeh.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  Рік тому +1

      That’s right Manticore! The copper isn’t anything magical for healing. That’s the misconception. It’s for help with odor reduction.

      @tracy2762 Рік тому

      @@epmanualphysicaltherapy is it possible they cant claim it helps with circulation etc because its not proven but can claim the odor part legally..they help more than the plain compression wraps..i wouldnt spend the money if i didnt think it was helping.

    I don’t have an injury - I’m 50 and I’m guessing it’s arthritis. Its difficult to stand up when seated or in bed- it’s noticeable when I walk - would I benefit from this?
    I did have a bad fall with two sprained ankles. They were like black and blue balloons and it had me down for 8 weeks. Once it healed my one knee was awful. BUT I was already experiencing limit motion and pain in my knee before the fall.

    I choose it solely because it's thin enough to wear under jeans.
