My name is Samantha Wayne and I have been creating advocacy videos on UA-cam since 2009. This channel was formerly known as Live Hope Lupus and was created in order to start a community for those living with chronic illnesses. In September 2019, I transitioned to a plant-based diet and I have found my body is responding well to it. Along with my lifestyle change, I am learning to alter my focus more on the positive. My current content will focus on my healing journey, what food I am eating, and everyday life. I will still be posting an occasional update about my health. I hope you all are ready to join me on this crazy journey of healing. We are all learning how to navigate this life together. If you have subscribed, thank you! I appreciate your support and look forward to talking with you all in the comments.

I cannot sleep. It now hurts😢. Legs & arms like glass when you get cut. Doctors are not believing me😢
What timing, I couldn't get to sleep until 6:30am! I figured it was the tea I had, it must've had caffeine. But I have also been awake because of pain and prescriptions too. Luckily I don't have a regular day job anymore and I can nap when I need to. But it is difficult!
Wow! I can’t imagine being up all night like that. I have been up until around 4am and even that is exhausting. I hope you’re able to rest up today and get more sleep tonight!
Between lupus fibro and rheumatoid arthritis my dr put me in sleeping meds and a muscle relaxer it has helped me so much
What sleep meds do you use? My dr has me on zopiclone but I find it leaves me feeling so groggy.
That app sounds good! I think too much at night 😫 I take melatonin, Sleepytime tea, and lavender in my diffuser to fall sleep, but sometimes it just doesn’t work!
How does the app track you? Do you need to wear a device? I can’t see how just a phone app on its own could accurately track sleep. I use a Fitbit to track my sleep which I wear on my wrist so I feel like that would track things more accurately as it also reads my heart rate.
The fitbit is great! I find the ShutEye app is helpful for me to get an idea of when I am falling asleep and waking up. It also knows when I get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. They also have meditation and other sleep sounds so that can be helpful for some people who need white noise to sleep.
@@HealWithSamantha How does it work though? Do you wear a sensor?
You should check your blood pressure. I had also same issue but after taking advant 8mg i feel much better.
Blood pressure currently is 120/80. Just went to the doc today. I’m glad it helped with your sleep!
Hi Samantha, Do you find that Prednisone affect your memory?
Yes it can. Google for more info.
Has anyone tried grounding? My mom bought me a grounding mat and it seems to work but I see a lot of doctors saying it’s a scam but others saying it’s not and I just want to hear if others with lupus or chronic pain have tried it
logic and reason: keep a schedule! limit caffeine! Have a routine!
prednisone me in full-on survival mode and a flatline of a circadian rhythm: wHeeeeEEEEeeeeEEEeeeee
Yes, I find keeping a schedule is one of the most important things for me! I went to bed at 10pm on New Years for this reason. 😂
@@HealWithSamantha AHAHAH wise. I’m both foggy from relapsing again and from the prednisone re-ramp-up and keeping a thought in my head for longer than two minutes is an issue atm so schedules are very hard 😂😂😂😂 like if im mostly awake in the light and mostly asleep in the dark i call it a success at this point
At least you don't have tinnitus I was trying to sleep all last night
I suffer with this as well. It’s brutal! I have to blast white noise to try and drown it out, but that keeps me awake.
Whew, yes. I can’t imagine how that plays a role in your sleep.
@@kristieangel5682 same here or take a anxiety medication
@@HealWithSamantha I just hope there's a treatment for it
I use prednisone too 5mg.. I have lupus too.. I just drink milk ang lukewarm water so I can able to sleep..I go to bed 9pm and fall asleep sometimes 10pm or 12 am.. sometimes 4am if insomnia attack me.. dis is my problem.. Hahaiis.. I just pray to da lord.. 🙏🙏
Belated reply but try Check with your physician to make sure it’s safe for you. glycinate. Maybe 200-300mg to start ~30 min before bed. Natural calm is a safe name. Also low dose time release melatonin (0.5-1mg). Check with medical Dr to make sure it’s safe for you. Try one thing at a time to know what works and source of any neg effects.
Melatonin
Not recommended for lupus
