Trying my first greenstalk and loving it so far. I'm a senior over 70 and finding an alternate way of gardening to save my back and knees. 😊 This helps me to keep active and provides healthy food and less supermarket trips.
I've bought the 5 tier greenstalk original vertical planter with the basket weave texture in stunning stone color and interested in the seeds that you use in your greenstalk
Personally like the self watering 5 gallon buckets that can be netted for broccoli, cabbage, Brussels etc. no bugs to ruin other plants! Looks great for greens, but not large climbing crops.
I love my greenstalk planters. Started with one in spring 2023 filled with lettuces, and this year started a 2nd leaf planter and have filled both with lettuces, romaine, spinach and arugula, parsely and basil on my deck. Greenstalks are the easiest gardening I've ever done! I'm hoping to try green beans in June, but not sure what is best variety? I wonder if bell peppers work in the greenstalk without a stake? Thanks for your help.
I love Jade bush beans for my GreenStalks and the grow great in the Leaf as well! Bell peppers will work in a GreenStalk, but I do use a stake with them. A dow rod or small bamboo stake works fine.
I have 3 green stalks. Only using 1 right now with strawberries from last year. Working on getting larger planters done to extend my garden. Goal is to start some winter crops in the green stalk, so they are close to the house. The book for the green stalk, is that something I can buy from you or do I have to go through green stalk? I don’t need anymore green stalks but would like to have the book. ❤️🌺
Some of these, I've had in the same place since I first planted them -- in 2022. I've transplanted them from one pocket to another occasionally, and I've found that the root ball expands to fit whatever pocket it has, but they still produce.
This year will be the first time I will try them in a GreenStalk, but I will use their Plant Supports to for them to vine on. Generally, I grow them in a raised bed with a trellis.
7:01 - can you please tell me what type of red burgandy lettuce you are growing in your stone lettuce greenstalk? You mentioned the name of others, but not of the darker types :) Thank you!
I'm growing 3 types in this one. Cherokee Red, Revolution, Salanova Red. This Instagram post shows which one is which: instagram.com/p/C4vJa8TMqb7/?img_index=1 So far I've loved them all!
@@thebeginnersgarden Thank you! I love how you have it planted on a diagonal layout! When you harvest it, do you pluck the outer leaves, or cut straight across the top, or cut out the entire head of lettuce?
The idea of vertical gardening is a smart way to multiply gardening space. However, these "Greenstalks " and others like them are not big enough to produce enough to keep a family of 5 in vegetables on a daily basis. Also, these planters are expensive. Then add up the soil , amendments, fertilizers and creative ways to keep critters away....those are some pricey veggies! They're somewhat attractive and easy to tend. But for this gardener, it's a decorative thing . Definitely not for anyone wanting to provide food for the family.
Some people start with one greenstalk or wait until they offer a sale or discount. That’s what i did , bought one in the winter when they offered a discount. It’s my 2nd year gardening, so I’m just taking “baby steps to see what works for my garden space. Including grow bags. I doubt she bought all of those vertical planters the same year, or since she is sponsoring & advertising for greenstalk’s brand they may have given her a few free ones as a reward. Don’t always assume people are wealthy, who advertise these greenstalks. 🤷🏾♀️
You can wait until they are on sale. That's what I did. I will easily raise more than $100 worth of food. It is much healthier, and I am reducing my carbon footprint by having my food grown local.
I was going to purchase my first green stalk. Got as far as the checkout and found out that it costs more to ship the product then to buy it! I am so very disappointed and disgusted at the shipping company! Just bc I live in Canada doesn’t mean that they have to totally gouge!! You at green stalk just lost a customer!!
Just saw your comment about the price of shipping being so much. I don't know anything about if Canada has Amazon. I was just looking these up today and noticed they sell them on Amazon.
Sometimes they offer free shipping, or shipping for less than $150 purchase. Keep an eye on their upcoming sales. Call the company, maybe they can make an adjustment?
It actually isn’t Greenstalk that charges that much it is the shipping cost for sending it across the border. My daughter lived in BC and I lived in the states. When I would send her packages it would cost me more than what I paid for the items.
Hi Lorraine😊🇨🇦 I am from Canada as well and I just ordered out of Guelph Ontario from the INDOOR FARMER … I am from NL and if you place an order over $125.00 they give you free shipping .. I ordered the original tower…the cover the spinner ..and a few more items…shipping was free I only paid our provincial tax Hope this helps sweetie 💕😊

I have 5 of the orginals with the deeper pocket. Love them!!! Heads up my megatron jalapeno grew 6 feet tall.
Seriously?! Do the Megatrons grow that tall in a GreenStalk? If so, I may have to prune. Thanks for the heads up.
I just got my PINK one! Happy Mother's Day. I will be putting mine together today - so great timing for your video. Thanks.
Just found out about greenstalks and trying them out too
Awesome growing in greenstalks, I have peas in 3, green beans in 3, flowers, peppers in 1.
Greenstalks are the best! I love them!! I grow everything in Greenstalks.
I missed the mothers day sale, but love watching your video. Next year for sure. Love the variety you planted.
Those things are so clever 🌱🌱 just a matter of what does well in them
Apparently there’s lots of plants that will do well in them! Even cucumbers they say! Try it. You never know
Good stuff got my greenstalk last year. Thanks for the wonderful ideas.

I'm just starting one of these; original version. Very small (6'x9') second story covered deck. 🤞😳😂
What variety of potatoes do you plant?
Phương pháp hay , tiết kiệm diện tích.

Yes! It's on my shop here: journeywithjill.net/product/greenstalk-growing-guide/
How do you keep the broccoli from being eaten by inch worms?
When planting strawberries, how long do you leave the plants in them? Strawberries outgrow their pots fast with the root balls.

Thanks. Pray to Jesus for guidance.
Curious how you grow cucumbers?

What state/Zone are you in?

I purchased two and I'm sorry I spent the money
Why? What happened?

i see no point in the green stalk unless you also have a large garden in the yard... Green stalk dont produce enough food to feed anyone..
All of you UA-cam gardeners must be rich.those green stalks are over a 100.00

On sale with code it's $89 and will last longer then any raised bed. Also takes less dirt.
Worth it.

I've heard from numerous folks in Canada that shipping in Canada can be very expensive. It's not Greenstalk's fault that shipping to you is expensive.
