My daughter and I just did a similar job on her 2000 Altima. The seat has to come out altogether, but it’s way better than dropping the tank. I had to do that on a 98 Monte Carlo I used to own, this under the seat method is way easier. Good stuff Falcon! 👍

What is mileage on your matrix and how do you know FP is bad
@@randeepsingh369 Mine has 242k miles on it. My son and I just replaced it this weekend. There is a bulletin about this issue on earlier years but it had the exact symptoms as those. Turned out to be correct because now the issue is gone after replacing it. The issue was after an extended cool down from driving it had a hard time starting.
Hey did you have the plastic locking ring around the fuel pump in your matrix? I have one. I’ve seen other videos same job on a matrix with a fuel pump secured in with screws. The pontiacs have this plastic ring. Strange
@@Billcozaaa yep mine had the plastic ring. It was tough to get off but we got it eventually. Once that is off the rest is really easy.

Isn’t the “housing”’around the pump the actual filter? That other filter is just a strainer.

Hey I just wanted to ask about removing that plastic locking ring. I stopped doing it because I diddnt want to cause damage and it was getting dark. How hard were you hitting it?
The only pump I can find is too big. Any help locating the smaller one in my car would be amazing!

Did the vehicle drive noticeably better afterwards?
well car didn't turn on before .. so yeah
Does the fuel filter come with the fuel pump assembly also?
there is a fuel screen .. the filter is usually on the line between engine and tank
What about a 03 pontiac vibe?!
03 -08 Vibes would be the same
