FYI you are best off buying the whole assembly......With the fuel pump, filter, gas gauge, and regulator all in 1. It is really hard to get that to work. I had to do the job 3 times before I was lucky enough for everything to work correctly.
You could go on rockauto and buy the whole fuel pump assembly. A GM GENUINE MU1392 fuel pump assembly for 05-08 Vibe is actually a repackaged Toyota Denso fuel pump assembly for $350 less than what Toyota wants for the same thing. About $135. Best to get the whole assembly as you can tell that internal filter isn't made to swap out easily. Plus with a new assembly, you're also changing out the fuel pressure regulator which is usually the problem if you're having extended crank issues.
@@justinostrom5654 I think 04 is different they are pretty similar but buy the whole assembly otherwise you will not replace the fuel filter which is part of the assembly missed in most of the videos.
@@Mikefngarage mines 03. Mine has a rough idle and makes a squeak sound. When I got the codes ran it was a problem with the EVAP system. I got the spark plugs replaced and now the codes saying there's a miss fire. I'm wandering if all that's due to the filter/pump?
I noticed that just recently when my other half put a new fuel pump in I said well did you put in the fuel injection pressure regulator. You're exactly right of course he didn't so now I have to take it apart and put it in there because this car is a 2009 Toyota Corolla and it cranks with no start still. Thank you for sharing love your video
FYI best to replace the whole unit. after I replaced my pump and filter I still needed to replace the fuel regulator which all was included with the whole assembly. I ended up replacing it all......so save yourself some time and money and just bite the bullet and replace the whole assembly. Rock auto has them also several on ebay and amazon for about $100...look for a decent name brand.
Amazing video! This will help me drop the tank which is what i have to do (need new plastic tank) So if i buy the whole assembly is it as simple as removing what you did and just replacing it?? Do I need to mess around with the fuel pump and filter? Thinking while I have it apart maybe I should put in another!
its right there. I would replace the whole unit pump filter and regulator. all at the same time. Check on ebay and amazon get a name brand one. Even if its not a real good name they work great.
not sure on that. I think they are different but it still has the filter inside that pump. I would just get the whole thing. I ended up doing that later. got one off ebay that has some sort of name brand on the box. not a no name. and it worked till we sold the car a few months ago. That car ran great. My daughter wanted a chevy equinox....IDK why.
My 2009 Pontiac Vibe 2.4L that i bought used at 220k miles hesitates to accelerate in flat surface or even to keep up with same speed in uphill. Does it indicate problem with any fuel pump components? I did replace spark plugs and engine air filter. No MIL
trace the lines from the engine back to the tank. if you dont see any filter in the line. It has to be in the tank. Every car has to have a fuel filter
Yea I really am overwhelmed right now have so many projects I cant finish before other stuff breaks down. But I will get to clean up soon. Parts for other projects that will get lost if I stop to do that right now.

yes I would buy the whole thing on the nest rodeo.
I have an 04, will it work on that as well?

check rock auto I think the 04 ones are cheaper too.

Props to you never having ever done this before! I'm scared to take mine out because i have NO PRIOR MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE AT ALL.
buy the whole thing not just the pump then pretty easy.
I'm a woman I have no idea either but vid is pretty clear. Go for it
@@LuluLulu-jw9fi it is pretty easy other than the ring can be pretty tight. you will swear it wont com off until it finally does.

Is the fuel pressure regulator inside the fuel pump? Do you have a vid on how to replace the fuel pressure regulator

What would be the part number for 2.4L 2010 Matrix AWD.

My vibe runs fine but has no kick down and sometimes bogs out, is that fuel related?
probably fuel filter. just like this one. it was doing just that.

probably just like this one fuel filter plugging up. Change the pump and filter unit all in one. Recheck, might just be the problem.

Sounds like clogged catalytic converter or intake manifold leak...
@@igorseprak6177 Yes you are spot on, it was the clogged Catalytic Converter.
Yeah, I think I'm gonna put my Vibe in the shop. 🤣🤣🤣 I don't have that kind of patience anymore.
thanks for your comments and likes. thanks for watching.
