Tammy had just recently married the piano player in her band. After she had sang about six songs when out from behind the state curtain came George Jones, you could tell Tammy's expression was like all those in the audience she was as surprised as everybody else was. George took Tammy's hand and they sang about six or seven songs together, George just bowed and left. What a great thrill it was to see and hear Tammy and George singing together. It was a wonderful night, one I'll always remember. Seeing the two Icons and Legends of Country music performing together was totally unexpected and what a super night it turned out to be. .

This brings back so many good memories. My father liked Tammy and George and especially liked them both tegether. When I was very young my dad let me help him rebuild the engine to a '75 Mustang that he picked up cheap. It took us about six weeks worth of after school hours and weekends to complete. It wasn't a race, it was just being together that mattered. After it was finished we would take the car out just for the sake of the ride that summer with this album in the 8-track. He would allow me to select the gear whenever he pushed in the clutch. For a 12 year old boy this was the best. I miss this kind of music and I miss my dad.
