IGN gave Evolve a 9 out of 10? lol, they ripped apart the excellent Alien Isolation, but gave this shallow multiplayer game a 9!? *face palm* Well, I'm glad I did buy Titanfall last year. It taught me never to buy another AAA multiplayer game on release, especially after I saw it go on sale digitally with the season pass for around $20. So, Evolve is a definite pass for me. Great review Angry Joe, I hope you do one for The Order 1886 next!
Good to see angry Joe exposing all the main outlets of critics with this game, this game way before release was shoved down our throats. And I'm not saying I agree with angry Joe just because I thought the game suck too, but the fact that I can't rate a f2p type game as a AAA game that has a AAA price tag with over 100$ of dlc on release day. This game would've been a lot better if it was reasonable with its price if it was f2p as the same set up. It was my problem with the order 1886, I loved the game but the publisher has no right to sell a 8-10 hour single player game for 60$ when it should be started off as 40$. Glad to see reasonable player, I loved the order 1886. but at the same time I know its not worth 60 or 70 dollars, at best its 40 and even then i would recommend people to buy it for like 30. But some people overreacted like the order was the worst shit ever, it had lot of flaws but also a lot of qualities.

Right now its a free 2 play title you paid to play. Here's what I thought would have made the game better. PVP Modes 4v4v1 - pit hunters against each other to take down the one monster for better rewards (no such reward system, so not going to happen) A loot system would have been great. 4v4 - your regular pvp against players Character Creation and 'CUSTOMIZATION' - Make the player feel unique and imagine customizing the look of a monster. Get rid of the god awful bullshit DLC (charging us $$ for reskins. Really assholes? this is not a AAA game), Have only the 4 major classes, with the ability to choose from the roster of weapons that is already made for the other characters you play. Mix and match weapons. In return creates dynamic game play which this game is sorely missing. This game wasted its potential with bullshit DLC on release, an almost linear game play system which was meant to be dynamic, lack of content and a poor excuse of a reward system. It could have been so much more if they put it a little more effort.

I remember when this game came out my friend was super hiped, bought all the DLC and was showing off that he got it. When I went to his house and played it, it seemed pretty crappy but I didn't say because I THOUGHT that I hadn't seen its full potential. A little less than a month later, I ask him how it is. He basically said, "what the hell is evolve"

We had the overhyped three last year (Titanfall, Watch_Dogs and Destiny) and now that Evolve & The Order: 1886 have come out, it seems like we're going to have a repeat of 2014 in terms of 3rd party games - a load of overhyped games that aren't worth the full retail price.

Geert Matthys I don't think you must complete a game in all instances to make a review. Multiplayer games you just need to play the game long enough. The same thing can be said for most games whether they are RPG or action games, if you have spent 15 hours on a game I think you're in a good place to make a review generally. whenever I played as a monster and I knew a group had a shitty Tracker, I decide not to evolve. I would just stalk/sneak the hunters and just fuck with them.
But than again All multiplayer games have these problems. The biggest problem in these kinds of games are that you depend on your teammates to be good. Hell they can even afk and the creators can't rlly do much about it. What are they gonna do ban you for not playing their game asif your life depended on it. There are only 3 games I am looking forward to and it is The Witcher 3, No mans sky and Star wars battlefront, maybe uncharted 4, I dunno about those games, have never played any of them so but I might give it a go. If these games flops aswell, I will sell my PS4 and never lay my hands on a console again.

It is biased because this is a heavily competitive game so of course its going to be a lot of the same stuff. Its like arguing that your sick of having people fight in mortal kombat and want them to sit down and play poker or golf instead. And the game does have some good flavor story moments between characters while in the wild, certain areas or about to be dropped off from the sky. They way Joe says it makes it sound like team fortress 2 needs a campaign or its shit.
Oh its is biased, but the thing is Joe immediately tells you what his bias is and why he reviews the game so because of the acknowledged bias. That is rare, very rare.
His reviews may not work for everyone, but they work for me. The truth is there will never be any source that will review a game that everyone agrees with because it's ultimatly based on opinion. I perfer independent reviews over the mainstream ones because they have more freedom and control to be genuine. I had a feeling this game would not be that good (just like destiny) because they went overboard with the PR campaign. Joe got it right IMO and that's why I continue to watch and support his reviews.
***** I would question if you even played the game competitively because the gameplay is great and exciting of how one moment it can seem impossible to the next where you are actually breaking the defense of the latter, The value of teamwork and strategy really show out here where as the monster you need to seperate or attack them all at once in hopes of making some permanent damage, and depending on who you're fighting changes your tactics completely and where perseverance in the face of hopelessness can prove fruitful. Joe had trouble with a AI monster and the AI monster is complete shit to anyone who can actually play the game, and the way he wines about hanks(support class) orbital barrage knocking ppl away from the location, this is a complete noob argument because he just isn't used to the ability, its incredibly powerful and takes predictions to be used effectively or can be used to deny ground to the monster making the possibilities for it very strong and obviously, if such a thing didn't at least push you back it would be overpowered. And again the story is for flavor, it was never meant to be something on the par with "The last of us PS3 or Gears of War xbox 360" Why doesn't Team fortress 2 have a story? And the comments and story you do get are very genuine with the characters giving their takes or experiences and all are very diverse and come from very different back grounds.
It may not be paid for so he says good things. But he is telling you about it through his personal experience with the game and what he found out while playing it. So the point will be honest. But from how he gauges it. If you ask a different person who saw the same exact things and had the same complaints. They might say. It was worse than joe said. Or better. It really depends on how people gauge the game. Example I agree with him on every point on destiny. When he made that review. The difference is I still find it very playable and worth going back to from time to time. Heck. While I've already done them many times. I still find the raids in destiny some what fun. That's the only reason I still play it too.

Yes, it kind of just makes me want to only play games from Naughty Dog, Rockstar, Valve and Bethesda, as they are the only companies who have delivered on basically every game they make.

The fact that they were able to show commercials and ads for it, yet every update they would go and say "heists are coming up soon". Fuck Rockstar. I find this game fun and enjoyable. I'm pretty pissed people are making their decisions on whether or not they should buy it on COSMETIC DLC. Also, Turtle Rock studios has stated that any and all maps added will be free. I think it's a good trade off, don't you?

A product is something that provides function and has been painstakingly designed so it delivers not only on that aspect but convenience, aesthetics, cost and all other facets that maximizes the general consumers' experience. The color blue is something so basic, so rudimentary that it should just be included in the game the first place. It's not that I'm denying the seller's freedom of selling it, it's the audacity that they put it up for sale in the 1st place that makes me uncomfortable. The color blue while offers visual value it should never amount to 2 dollars when the user has already paid 60 dollars for a(n) (incomplete) game. It's like asking for steak at a restaurant and being told that the default is well done and having it cooked any other way would cost extra. Sure you can choose to not buy it or eat your meat cooked well done all the time but the fact that companies are doing this means ppl are spending money for it and dare I say being exploited. What if your friend was spending 50 dollars to unlock every single color skin? Your child spending another 100 on top of the 60 you gave him/her? There's a day gonna come when you can't even name your characters anymore, it will always being either Mary or Tom and you have to spend 5 bucks to change it to something you prefer.

I keep trying to explain to him how you shouldn't buy DLC from EA or Activision because they cut content out the base game and sell it off later. He just doesn't get it. He uses Skyrim and Shadow of Mordor against me because I bought DLC for those games. He doesn't see the difference, he says, "But I'm just one person" not realizing that everyone thinks the same way then that 1 becomes 100, 1000, then 1000000. Then in the future we get levels for games sold at $60 EACH! For some reason I thought Evolve was published by EA.

I remember that it looked so cool on magazines and trailers. I was like "hell yea, I can't wait to play this when it comes out", but I never got back to it. I was very fortunate cause while I got hyped off of trailers I only bought games based on recommendations from friends, and since evolve flopped so hard I was never made to suffer thanks to them.
They are all over the place. Just for starters Maggie does not fall through the map that was in Beta, and was fixed. I've played the game every day since launch and have never seen Maggie do that. Why would he show that in the video? Pretty shoddy game coverage I must say.

Point being, I "love" how this year started with Dying "6/10, wait for a sale" Light, Evolve, The Order and what's next? MKX? Yeah, since Injustice and MK9 were a little bit better than "fucking bad" and they've already locked a character behind pre-order DLC, there is no faith to be had. Before anyone asks, locking characters like that in a game that aims for tournament play, fuck you, it's undefendable, go away.

Evolve didn't peak my interest when I looked at the game play online. Not surprisingly, IGN and Gameinformer gave it high marks. They also gave Watch Dogs and Destiny higher ratings than you did. I trust your opinion over any other gamer review. If we don't buy these games pre-order, then maybe some of these companies will actually start making decent games. Keep up the great work!
Umm..AngryJoe isn't honest in this review at all. This review is getting torn apart on the Steam forums by people that know the ins and outs of the game. He doesn't even know how the unlock system works.
I don't usually trust AAA titles not from Nintendo. I LOVE games like GTA5 and The Last of Us Remastered, but I deeply considered these games before making the purchase. Of course Nintendo has been treating fans like trash lately but they don't release unfinished games or annoying DLC. I know many people like this game but I always watch reviews on games like this before purchasing.

I'm glad I decided not to buy it now. I was hyped for this game when I first saw it in gameinformer. I love Left for dead and the concept of this game seemed great to me. But I never pre order and I always wait for a few weeks to see how a game is before I buy it. If we all never pre-ordered and had the patience to buy a game a month after release micro transactions wouldn't have ever existed.

They should have made this game to be like the alien humanoid creature answer to zombies from Left 4 Dead but they fucked it up. Hence why Left 4 Dead 2 is still going strong and this game is dead.

Just looked that up, and yea... I'm starting to think IGN hate water... I mean Pokemon got a 7, and Majora's mask got a 8.7/10, which is a good score, a really good score. But the negative part was "Great Bay Temple" Okay so the one temple, that has water in it, which if you use the map on the bottom screen it's not difficult to figure out where you're at and all the pipes...

Calling it "games journalism" even in reference to what it should be is an insult to real journalism. Pretty much all "games journalism" was/is is a big marketing ploy. Its dishonest and deceptive at its core.
I couldn't say I didn't see it coming, but hey it's 2k let's have some faith. Nope, all aspects I feared that might crash the game become reality. This asymmetric 4v1 concept just don't work well without top notch cooperation, even 2k is behind the wheel. I wouldn't say it's a shitty game, it does play well when everybody in the match "play it right", but that just simply doesn't happen for the most part.
To me this seems a LOT like Guns of Icarus Online, in that the game is pretty damn great when you got two ships going at it with crews who communicate, but the game totally breaks down when you try to play in a pub match with people who don't have/use mics, and it has no other single player content. Obviously the biggest difference is that Guns of Icarus Online only costs like 20 dollars, with some cosmetic DLC thrown into the mix.
I lost interest in this game when I saw that they wanted $15.00 for one monster for DLC. 1/4 the cost of the game just to play as ONE monster? Yeah, Fuck That.
I don't have much hope for The Division, because....you know, Ubisoft. I do hope that games like MGS 5 Phantom Pain, Batman Arkham Knight, The Witcher 3, Uncharted 4 and Zelda U will live up to the hype.

Taxtro I know, but it's the closest comparison I could think of. Both focus on hunting giant, badass monsters with up to 4 people. Of course, MH4U has a single player mode, weapons and armor that are earned by the player rather than bought, and free DLC released on the first Friday of every month for the next several months. Plus it's cheaper and for a cheaper system. I can live without controlling the monster if I get all this instead.

The Forest, No Man's Sky, MineCraft, and Space Engineers are all better than the biggest AAA titles out there. Some big corporations are even trying to copy indie developers, making the exact same game except for double the price and contains microtransactions. An example is Sony's ripoff of DayZ known as H1Z1.
James George MineCraft is owned by Microsoft so it isn't indie. No Man's Sky though looks amazing. You forgot Star Citizen which looks even better. Hm, lot of space games.

A perfect example of a game not matching its price. If it was a free-to-play game, or a $20 game like Joe said, it totally be worth it. But for $60, no thank you. Its not a horrible game, mind you, but a lot more was needed at release to warrant $60. I even remember a year or so back, this game was free to get on Xbox One as a free game of the month for Xbox Live Gold membership users.
Usually, when you say "I'm tired of running", it's heroic. Not in Evolve. Everyone pretty much just says "ditto" and then goes to bed or keeps playing.

Emilie Goomba Naughty Dog never disappoints. Well, maybe Uncharted 3. But I mean let's be real. Following in uncharted 2's footsteps they basically set an unreachable bar. Still a great game though, just not as memorable for me. And then to go from that and make The Last of Us, which I think is their best game, was pretty amazing.

There was no fake advertising...that's AngryJoe misinforming you. The base game comes with 12 Hunters, and 3 monsters. That's all you need to play the game and that's all there is available now to anyone that installs the game.

It's not empty, they have an awesome platform & some great game ideas, it's the fact that you can't choose what you play that sucks, it's either hunt or Evac', they need to add the ability to choose to play nest, defend or rescue. If you watched the video Joe even says that the game can be fucking awesome, it can have some of the best gaming experience that you can have... but at the moment it's spoilt by noobs who are clueless.
Getting a monster early does not equate to pay to win. Getting a stronger variation of the same monster everyone else has because you bought it, THAT is pay to win. I'm not a blind ignorant fanboy, I just love the gameplay of this game. Let's look at other games that are repetitive and yet successful: League of Legends, Starcraft 2, Left 4 Dead. Seriously, this game is only getting flack because of the DLC stigma fallacy. The moment a game opens up with DLC even cosmetic at that, it get's demonized by the DLC hating game community. But this commits the fallacy of composition; people the bad DLC does not equate to a bad whole of the game! The game is not incomplete simply because they want to add more cosmetic touches. Also, am I the only one who notices how dynamic this game is? Hunters who aren't good at finding a monster need to get good at tracking Monsters who cannot run or hide need to get good at hiding. It's a great game, it's just that it lacks a story with a good narrative. Still, I love the characters and their interactions before they jump to the ground. I also love the way the monster plays. Also, level 3 complaints? Dude, no offense AngryJoe: But you just suck at the game. If you find beating a lvl 3 monster impossible, your assault needs to learn to use his traps, your trapper needs to learn how to run and your medic needs to know how to heal. I think half of you haven't even played the game and just judge it by DLC and throw this brand of evil on it.
That last line, you're half right about me. I haven't played this game, this is true. Now that that's out of the way, I like the concept of Evolve, and I'm fine with the cosmetic dlc, though it leaves an admittedly bitter taste seeing so much in the first week. I think Turtle Rock wouldn't have had such a problem with the audience if they'd lowered their initial price, and maybe staggered their cosmetic stuff over the time-span of... idunno, a month, maybe... I even disagree with Joe's Running Simulator comment, because as a fan of Monster Hunter, spending time looking for the monster is a part of my enjoyment. Though after seeing a lot of people playing Evolve and talking about it, the game as is just isn't worth buying to me.

People have forgotten to judge the game as the game; they are blinded from the game by the company it is developed from and how they run things instead. Well, I'm glad I did buy Titanfall last year. It taught me never to buy another AAA multiplayer game on release, especially after I saw it go on sale digitally with the season pass for around $20. So, Evolve is a definite pass for me.

Good to see angry Joe exposing all the main outlets of critics with this game, this game way before release was shoved down our throats. And I'm not saying I agree with angry Joe just because I thought the game suck too, but the fact that I can't rate a f2p type game as a AAA game that has a AAA price tag with over 100$ of dlc on release day. This game would've been a lot better if it was reasonable with its price if it was f2p as the same set up. It was my problem with the order 1886, I loved the game but the publisher has no right to sell a 8-10 hour single player game for 60$ when it should be started off as 40$. Glad to see reasonable player, I loved the order 1886. but at the same time I know its not worth 60 or 70 dollars, at best its 40 and even then i would recommend people to buy it for like 30. 4v4v1 - pit hunters against each other to take down the one monster for better rewards (no such reward system, so not going to happen) A loot system would have been great.

Character Creation and 'CUSTOMIZATION' - Make the player feel unique and imagine customizing the look of a monster. Get rid of the god awful bullshit DLC (charging us $$ for reskins. Really assholes? this is not a AAA game),
Have only the 4 major classes, with the ability to choose from the roster of weapons that is already made for the other characters you play. Mix and match weapons. In return creates dynamic game play which this game is sorely missing.
This game wasted its potential with bullshit DLC on release, an almost linear game play system which was meant to be dynamic, lack of content and a poor excuse of a reward system. It could have been so much more if they put it a little more effort.
That actually sounds really good. I would have paid for that if the game actually did those things.

I remember when this game came out my friend was super hiped, bought all the DLC and was showing off that he got it. When I went to his house and played it, it seemed pretty crappy but I didn't say because I THOUGHT that I hadn't seen its full potential. A little less than a month later, I ask him how it is. We had the overhyped three last year (Titanfall, Watch_Dogs and Destiny) and now that Evolve & The Order: 1886 have come out, it seems like we're going to have a repeat of 2014 in terms of 3rd party games - a load of overhyped games that aren't worth the full retail price.
and Watch Dogs was lame and Call of Duty became predictable a few years ago and Far Cry 4 is basically more Far Cry 3.

If you want an honest review, Always go with an independent reviewer. Angry Joe is spot on with this review because it's never biased or "paid for". Good job.
It is biased because this is a heavily competitive game so of course its going to be a lot of the same stuff. Its like arguing that your sick of having people fight in mortal kombat and want them to sit down and play poker or golf instead. And the game does have some good flavor story moments between characters while in the wild, certain areas or about to be dropped off from the sky. They way Joe says it makes it sound like team fortress 2 needs a campaign or its shit.
Oh its is biased, but the thing is Joe immediately tells you what his bias is and why he reviews the game so because of the acknowledged bias.
That is rare, very rare.
His reviews may not work for everyone, but they work for me. The truth is there will never be any source that will review a game that everyone agrees with because it's ultimatly based on opinion. I perfer independent reviews over the mainstream ones because they have more freedom and control to be genuine. I had a feeling this game would not be that good (just like destiny) because they went overboard with the PR campaign. Joe got it right IMO and that's why I continue to watch and support his reviews.

I would question if you even played the game competitively because the gameplay is great and exciting of how one moment it can seem impossible to the next where you are actually breaking the defense of the latter, The value of teamwork and strategy really show out here where as the monster you need to seperate or attack them all at once in hopes of making some permanent damage, and depending on who you're fighting changes your tactics completely and where perseverance in the face of hopelessness can prove fruitful.
Joe had trouble with a AI monster and the AI monster is complete shit to anyone who can actually play the game, and the way he wines about hanks(support class) orbital barrage knocking ppl away from the location, this is a complete noob argument because he just isn't used to the ability, its incredibly powerful and takes predictions to be used effectively or can be used to deny ground to the monster making the possibilities for it very strong and obviously, if such a thing didn't at least push you back it would be overpowered.
And again the story is for flavor, it was never meant to be something on the par with "The last of us PS3 or Gears of War xbox 360"

And the comments and story you do get are very genuine with the characters giving their takes or experiences and all are very diverse and come from very different back grounds.
It may not be paid for so he says good things. But he is telling you about it through his personal experience with the game and what he found out while playing it. So the point will be honest. But from how he gauges it. If you ask a different person who saw the same exact things and had the same complaints. They might say. It was worse than joe said. Or better. It really depends on how people gauge the game. Example I agree with him on every point on destiny. When he made that review. The difference is I still find it very playable and worth going back to from time to time. Heck. While I've already done them many times. I still find the raids in destiny some what fun. That's the only reason I still play it too.

I find this game fun and enjoyable. I'm pretty pissed people are making their decisions on whether or not they should buy it on COSMETIC DLC. Also, Turtle Rock studios has stated that any and all maps added will be free. I think it's a good trade off, don't you?

The color blue is something so basic, so rudimentary that it should just be included in the game the first place. It's not that I'm denying the seller's freedom of selling it, it's the audacity that they put it up for sale in the 1st place that makes me uncomfortable. The color blue while offers visual value it should never amount to 2 dollars when the user has already paid 60 dollars for a(n) (incomplete) game. It's like asking for steak at a restaurant and being told that the default is well done and having it cooked any other way would cost extra.
Sure you can choose to not buy it or eat your meat cooked well done all the time but the fact that companies are doing this means ppl are spending money for it and dare I say being exploited. What if your friend was spending 50 dollars to unlock every single color skin? Your child spending another 100 on top of the 60 you gave him/her? There's a day gonna come when you can't even name your characters anymore, it will always being either Mary or Tom and you have to spend 5 bucks to change it to something you prefer.

Evolve didn't peak my interest when I looked at the game play online. Not surprisingly, IGN and Gameinformer gave it high marks. They also gave Watch Dogs and Destiny higher ratings than you did. I trust your opinion over any other gamer review. If we don't buy these games pre-order, then maybe some of these companies will actually start making decent games. Keep up the great work!

I don't usually trust AAA titles not from Nintendo. I LOVE games like GTA5 and The Last of Us Remastered, but I deeply considered these games before making the purchase. Of course Nintendo has been treating fans like trash lately but they don't release unfinished games or annoying DLC. I know many people like this game but I always watch reviews on games like this before purchasing.

I'm glad I decided not to buy it now. I was hyped for this game when I first saw it in gameinformer. I love Left for dead and the concept of this game seemed great to me. But I never pre order and I always wait for a few weeks to see how a game is before I buy it. If we all never pre-ordered and had the patience to buy a game a month after release micro transactions wouldn't have ever existed.

Just looked that up, and yea... I'm starting to think IGN hate water... I mean Pokemon got a 7, and Majora's mask got a 8.7/10, which is a good score, a really good score. But the negative part was "Great Bay Temple" Okay so the one temple, that has water in it, which if you use the map on the bottom screen it's not difficult to figure out where you're at and all the pipes...
If you didn't see this coming from a mile away, I just don't know what to say. The only surprise is that it is getting positive reviews. Game journalism is dead, thanks for sticking with us Joe, TB and the dwindling few with some morals.

Calling it "games journalism" even in reference to what it should be is an insult to real journalism. Pretty much all "games journalism" was/is is a big marketing ploy. Its dishonest and deceptive at its core.
I couldn't say I didn't see it coming, but hey it's 2k let's have some faith. Nope, all aspects I feared that might crash the game become reality. This asymmetric 4v1 concept just don't work well without top notch cooperation, even 2k is behind the wheel. I wouldn't say it's a shitty game, it does play well when everybody in the match "play it right", but that just simply doesn't happen for the most part.
To me this seems a LOT like Guns of Icarus Online, in that the game is pretty damn great when you got two ships going at it with crews who communicate, but the game totally breaks down when you try to play in a pub match with people who don't have/use mics, and it has no other single player content. Obviously the biggest difference is that Guns of Icarus Online only costs like 20 dollars, with some cosmetic DLC thrown into the mix.
I lost interest in this game when I saw that they wanted $15.00 for one monster for DLC. 1/4 the cost of the game just to play as ONE monster? Yeah, Fuck That.

Monster Hunter doesn't need player-driven monsters to be great, which it is.
Taxtro I know, but it's the closest comparison I could think of. Both focus on hunting giant, badass monsters with up to 4 people. Of course, MH4U has a single player mode, weapons and armor that are earned by the player rather than bought, and free DLC released on the first Friday of every month for the next several months. Plus it's cheaper and for a cheaper system. I can live without controlling the monster if I get all this instead.

I can tell you from playing it myself that is a B-C grade film with bits of rail shooting and quick time events. wait for it to drop to 30$ because that's all its worth if you didn't get one of the statues for the game.

and yea fuck evolve, it was fun unlocking and playing every character but after that there's no point. and also it feels like no one even plays the fucking game anymore, matches were fun when the game came out and everyone was playing it. but now i feel like im playing with all bots.... also this is the first game i ever bought that straight up felt like i wasted my money. pretty sad if you ask me...

Who's disappointed? Tons of people are having a blast with this game, on PC and the consoles both. I've had it since launch and can't get enough It's very competitive and there is tons to learn in the game. AngryJoe doesn't even know how to play this game any good Evolve player can tell.

There was no fake advertising...that's AngryJoe misinforming you. The base game comes with 12 Hunters, and 3 monsters. That's all you need to play the game and that's all there is available now to anyone that installs the game.

Getting a monster early does not equate to pay to win. Getting a stronger variation of the same monster everyone else has because you bought it, THAT is pay to win. I'm not a blind ignorant fanboy, I just love the gameplay of this game. Let's look at other games that are repetitive and yet successful: League of Legends, Starcraft 2, Left 4 Dead. Seriously, this game is only getting flack because of the DLC stigma fallacy. The moment a game opens up with DLC even cosmetic at that, it get's demonized by the DLC hating game community. But this commits the fallacy of composition; people the bad DLC does not equate to a bad whole of the game! The game is not incomplete simply because they want to add more cosmetic touches.
Also, am I the only one who notices how dynamic this game is? Hunters who aren't good at finding a monster need to get good at tracking
Monsters who cannot run or hide need to get good at hiding. It's a great game, it's just that it lacks a story with a good narrative. Still, I love the characters and their interactions before they jump to the ground.
I also love the way the monster plays.

If you find beating a lvl 3 monster impossible, your assault needs to learn to use his traps, your trapper needs to learn how to run and your medic needs to know how to heal.

That last line, you're half right about me. I haven't played this game, this is true. Now that that's out of the way, I like the concept of Evolve, and I'm fine with the cosmetic dlc, though it leaves an admittedly bitter taste seeing so much in the first week. I think Turtle Rock wouldn't have had such a problem with the audience if they'd lowered their initial price, and maybe staggered their cosmetic stuff over the time-span of... idunno, a month, maybe... I even disagree with Joe's Running Simulator comment, because as a fan of Monster Hunter, spending time looking for the monster is a part of my enjoyment. Though after seeing a lot of people playing Evolve and talking about it, the game as is just isn't worth buying to me.

Luckily there are a minor few that didn't let the whole DLC issue blind them from the game play itself.
People have forgotten to judge the game as the game; they are blinded from the game by the company it is developed from and how they run things instead.
When people defend a game from bad reviews, it doesn't mean they like how companies cash grab, but because the game is actually good, if you are blinded by that fact then I'm sorry, you'll never be a good reviewer ever again Joe.
