I'm just sitting here drinking a coke listening too this absolutely brilliant guitar picker with an amazing country voice singing this beautiful song this man and others like him are the reason I dont bother putting on the radio I just come right here and listen and relax too REAL COUNTRY MUSIC !!!!!!!
WoW...... absolutely great picking (AND singing)! I was very fortunate to have seen and hear Mr. David Peterson & 1946 about 15 years or so ago at a bluegrass show in east Texas. At that time, I had heard of him and read a little about him, but had never been to any of his appearances. There were many good and great bands and groups scheduled that day, and I enjoyed and loved them all........ but I have to say that this guy David Peterson no question stole the show. I went home and told my Dad that there's a singer that you have GOT to see. My Dad has since passed away, and gone to be with the Lord. Regrettably, my Dad, who as a young boy grew up listening to Roy Acuff, the Delmore Brothers, Deford Bailey, and many other greats on the Grand'Ol Opry back in '30s & '40s. Please come back to east Texas Mr. Peterson.🎸🎻
I seen him about the same time you mentioned. It was at a bluegrass festival in Athens Tx. I actually got to meet him and talked to him about his guitar he played at the festival. He told me it was a 1953 Martin D-18. He autographed the cd of his that I bought and still have it today. He had a great band at that time called 1946. He was a super nice guy and great singer and musician.
David Peterson - Your music awakens the best inside of us, just as the gospel of Jesus reaches and resides in our hearts and raises us up like nothing else can. In these times we all need lifted up to higher places. I Listened to Cup of Loneliness several times today and loved the depth and sincerity of every song. Hope to cross your trail again someday. We saw you on a side street in Gatlinburg several years ago and bought most all of your cds. God Bless and keep you. (I will not comply either)
Composer seems to have written this song after these lyrics happened to him..Written by Pete Goble and wonderfully conducted by our beloved David Peterson.
I'm huge Larry Sparks fan. I hadn't made the connection. I used to hear you singing up a Dahlonega quite often. Pretty sure I heard you sing this. I remember noticing that you play with three finger picks. Any how, God bless you and the best of wishes. You got talent dude.
