1000 HP Chevelle Custom Exhaust Build - Twin Turbo LSX Chevy Chevelle Ep. 17

- The twin turbo LSX Chevelle is back for another episode! We got you caught up with our progress last week as we reassembled our engine bay, installed our turbos and headers, got our Haltech wiring all plugged in, and started to install our custom interior!
This week we have a huge project to knock out. Making our custom exhaust! Like always we have a ton of Vibrant performance stainless pipes and mufflers. But for this build, we're using their oval exhaust pipes to make sure we have enough ground clearance underneath this muscle car. We're fabricating this exhaust from our turbos, past our fire wall, through a custom made x pipe, over our rear axel, and out the back with a symmetrical set of vibrant mufflers and exhaust tips!
Make sure to like and subscribe so you don't miss hearing how this exhaust sounds, because we are only one episode away from firing this baby up! - Авто та транспорт
Guy's, Please take this in consideration; Did I mention "Please"
I know many people myself included would love to see one full build video of this Chevelle from start to finish when the project is done. It would be nice to recap all the highlights, body mods and details of the car.
Each phase of the operation is great to see but it greatly underscores the tremendous amount of work gone into this build and doesn't encompass the amount of flawless work gone in. I think it would make for an awesome video. This is without a doubt my most favorite build on the internet hands down. So again thanks for the great content and taking us along on this epic journey
Great idea. Powernation has been uploading 2hr plus videos of their previous builds and I like watching(or just background 😂) em and see the builds. Gets them more views on the channel without making new content
We'll definitely put some of those together for y'all!
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, coming from an old pipe fitter, your work is top self! Well done 👍🏼
Thank you so much!
this is going to be the nicest chevelle in the world..hands down.. this has been an amazing journey..
We're glad that it's coming to an end though! This thing deserves to be out on the street. Thanks for the support!
I'd say your exhaust system is a work of art... but EVERY system you put into a car ends up being an incredible work of art. Thanks for sharing these amazing projects with us.
Yeah... now I just want to hear it run!
Wow, thanks! We really appreciate taking the time to stop by and watch the episode!
Although I have certainly enjoyed seeing Mickey Rolls and verifying his awesome skills in most videos lately, do miss seeing the other guys.
They'll be back on the channel soon!
Cant wait to see this baby boil the tires off ❤
Can't wait to smell that burnt rubber!
Same!
Damn, that exhaust sure was a lot of work. So many bends and tight spots to route through. But once again you guys delivered! Can't wait to hear it in action.
Thank you so much!
my man you be welding your ass off. Salute!
Thank you!
Sorry but my favorite part is how you guys take into consideration maintenance later. Well done!!
There's a good chance we'll be doing the maintenance so we're trying not to create more headaches for ourselves! lol
my aboslute favorite build I have ever seen anywhere in my life
Thank you so much!
Dyum .... finish work really made a difference. well done bossman ... and team 😂
Thank you!
The hours that have gone into fabricating the exhaust setup are mind boggling. It seems like the exhaust is a tight fit at the back. I guess it’s going to be wrapped the prevent heat transfer. Amazing job nonetheless 🤙
We gotta pull out the exhaust to fit up the drive shaft, so everything is going to get wrapped up when that happens!
You guys do some really amazing work. 👌
Thank you so much 😀
@@SalvagetoSavage you’re welcome.✌️
Beautiful work on the exhaust guys, cars coming along great!
Thanks 👍
I can definitely appreciate the time and detail it took to complete the exhaust. But for me, I am already tired just from watching it!! Great Job S2S!!
it was.... exhausting! lol
I have been building it with your team from my sofa since the build started. Keep in mind , I am 75 and live in Québec, Canada. Love your builds and videos.
That is awesome! Hope the weather is starting to get warm up there for some nice Sunday cruises!
Very nice! I do like the oval tubing versus the round!
It definitely helps tuck those pipes up and keeps the profile looking a bit cleaner!
That exhaust is awesome! It must sound savage!
We'll see on the next episode!
@@SalvagetoSavage hell yeah, can't wait!
Tig welding , like it's partying in 1999 , again
Nice job on the exhaust, that was a huge puzzle to figure out
Thank you!
Very great job! Thanks Mike, Andrew and David, this week is a chemo Wednesday, so I’m entertained while I’m hooked up for that !
See you next week!
Hope you're feeling alright! I know that can take a lot out of you. We're glad we can be here to help keep you distracted for a bit! We'll see you next Wednesday!
@@SalvagetoSavage Thanks , I’ll see you soon. I plan on a triple to Florida next year and to stop by the shop for a tour! I’m feeling pretty good, the chemo isn’t all that bad. After that I’ll have five weeks of radiation therapy then surgery. Fun wow! I hope to be done by mid September!
Hey modify the transmission mount. You probably don’t even need to modify the transmission mount. If you rotate the oval, you can fit it right up in there and tuck it in and it looks swweeet
Ahhh my savages 🫡🔥🔥🔥
Happy Wednesday Luis!
🎉🎉🎉
Another badass video!!
Work of Art Bro!
Glad you think so!
good job man 👍💪
Appreciate it!
Amazing work ! I think I would have used 2 flex joints on the down tubes from the turbos...
The vibrant v bands give us more than enough flex and movement there!
@@SalvagetoSavage Ok 👌
Thank u 😊
Thanks for watching!
More great S2S content.
Thank you!!
Nice job. A bit disappointing though i was expecting to hear that screaming😂
That's saved for next episode!
nice
Thanks!!
Did I miss something? Why is the exhaust hard mounted to the frame?
THE ORANGE 🍊 WAS A GOOD COLOR !! BUT THE Lamborghini ORANGE 🍊WOULD HAVE SET IT OFF !!
Where can I get that clamp fixture you’re using in the vice to hold the exhaust at 27:00? That seems really like it could be very handy.
That exhaust is super sweet👌🏻
I wonder if the oval and round are exactly the same volume.
We'll ask our sales person at Vibrant! That's a great question!
I wonder if you cut a 2” length of both, caped one end of each and see if they hold the same amount of water. I guess that would answer.
What fixture were you all using in the vise to weld the exhaust?
Putting an X pipe on there is going to cause severe issues with those turbos due to the harmonic resonance bouncing back into the impeller. When those turbos die you will know why.
🤙🤙
If packaging permits, would you want the X-pipe as close to the header as possible? Or does it matter?
Closer up would be ideal!
💪👊👏
Is the x pipe post turbo purely for sound?
Why do you use purge gas when welding some stainless ex pipes but you didn't do it on this one?
We purged about 85% of this exhaust, I think Mikey was just trying to get it done as quickly as possible
The adhesive from all that tape doesn't contaminate the welds?
Nope! The tape is just there to get some tacks on it. Everything is re-cleaned and prepped again once the real welding starts!
Usually your work is great ... but that muffler just makes my OCD **and** safety senses tingle. Each muffler is mounted at a different angle. There are seemingly random kinks in the lines and, irrespective of the lower temperature at ends of the exhaust it scares me that they're basically resting against the fuel tank. I guess this was a rush job?
At least the muffler isn’t in the trunk. Lol
We can at least be thankful for that small concession
Is there an oval v-clamp
Not that we know of! We'd have to check Vibrant's catalog
Does anyone know why they cap the ends of the tube when they are welding?
We're filling the material with argon to get a cleaner weld on the inside of the pipe. You should check out a few of our earlier exhaust/header build episodes. We go into more details about purge welding there!
@SalvagetoSavage Cool! You can learn something new everyday. I'll definitely look those up
I hate that. I’m sitting here watching y’all’s video at lunchtime ,and that porno music comes on. Everybody’s looking at me, lol
We do it so youre forced to tell them about our channel! lol
@@SalvagetoSavage ha that’s a good one. I just say car porn
Hey guys maybe a new camera... Just saying you guys have the subscribers now so maybe its time for a Camera upgrade...
This video cuts out too much for me to enjoy.
Ok! Thanks for the feedback!
@@SalvagetoSavage I understand the reason why you made the video the way it is.
Thanks for showing the car and shop.
