also some wood slats to make a "floor" on the roof rack to match the bed would be super sick
Nice! flip the Toyota logo for a old school sun screen over the top of the wind shield.
For the roof rack, maybe consider rusting it and clear coating over the rust. They have chemicals you can use to make it rust fast. Hydrogen peroxide, salt and vinegar I believe is one solution. There’s probably others. Use a satin clear coat to seal in the rust to stop it from getting worse or staining your paint. Also, thank you for making these videos. I really enjoy watching them!
Yes that is how I did my front bumper! Thanks for watching!
I think matching to the current paint would look best. For your 1st time the outcome is sweet and the one off look sets it apart in a positive way.
Nice Tiara.
Fantastic workmanship. Learning on your own time and dollar is the only way to go.
Sports bars for the tray/bed is a must !
That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. Nice tiara for a Hilux. 😄
Long, long time ago, I used to work on a muffler shop, and we used welding rods to make bends we used them against the pipes to be bends and mach to the pipe works like a champ
Good idea! Might have to try that one
front axle tie rods on heavy trucks that have gotten bent can be straightened by batting them on a block of wood that's standing on end on the floor. I used this technique to bend 1 1/2 " sq. X .095 tube to make a ladder rack for a 1989 Toyota truck I had. Gradual arches only, like to match the top of the cab and such.
Same color as the wheels would look spectacular!
Another video of Auz dropping some knowledge for the boys
Got to teach the boys how to not bend tube! Lol
I have never been so excited to wait for the next episode. Everytime you post a new video I can't wait to see what ideas you come up with. Keep up the excellent work. I totally out of the box design episode 👌👌👌
A tube bender has its place tho, but a tube roller works well on long radiuses if your fabricating lots of those. I’m in construction and seems that I could never have enough tools!
Digging the build.👏
I'd be tempted to make it more useable with perhaps another cross tube and some time down points... or at least some type of metal 'floor' that keeps anything attached to the roof rack off the actual roof. I agree with others - for a first time, darn good effort. And yes, the bending of wire works nice after you've done a few.
looks fantastic I really like this project greetings from Chicago
Austin, I work in a fab shop and I must say your skill copin pipe with a drill press is awesome 👌
Te quedó genial… como para patentar el diseño y q se venda para recuperar la inversión 😂 Gracias por compartir y para adelante siempre !
Love your videos man.
The HF tubing roller is a very useful tool for making a long radius. Maybe not the best for this project but something to keep in mind.
Also, when you're coping your tube, you only need to cut your tube about 1/3 longer than the diameter of the hole saw. This will save some material and make your hole saw last longer.
I dig all this good stuff around
Sick. It totally reminds me of the '90 t.m.n.t. Master Shredder's helmet! As of right now. With lights, maybe not so much.
This truck is going to make some old Mexican drywaller very happy someday.
😂😂😂 Pablo is going to be stoked
keep up the good work ,i love watching your videos well done ,and supper well done for your trucks all beautiful specially the tacoma 👍,i think a rollcage on the back would be great on this truck like the racing ones.
Black for sure. Or cherry powdercoat like the wheels
i was told that to prevent this "tube fail" from happening, they just fill the tube with sand and close the edges! Don't know if it's true and never try it! 😁 Great video Austin!
I think the roof rack would look great color matched to the wheels.
I'd go matte black or a dark grey. Looks good! I didn't realize RF was a NW company, cool to know.
I think black would look good. You have black squares on the pillars.
Black for the contrast 😎✌
Austin always with that 🔥🔥🔥 content
Thanks bro I try 😀
Digging the voice over work.
Yeah? I might incorporate it into more of my videos!
Your perseverance and sticking to the task is amazing and it shows in the work you put out. Great job.
with regards to the bar, are you going to do a bar on top like a clam? would require you to bend more tubing but that would look retro then you can stick lights in-between the top and lower bar
That color on the “Toyota” looks cool
Great Little Truck Austin
Powdercoat it that same color as you did the rims. Something different might look cool😎
Anyone notice the ghost open the toolbox drawer at 9:00 minutes in??😂
Oh that's creepy! Nice catch!
Yeah my drawer latch things are worn out!
Bro is procrastinating on his land cruiser fj40 project at this point
My vote is for black. I think black would enhance the look.
Watched your video today on valve cover replacement help out 👍
looks great brother.
Wooow that's awesome kool, you work on my tocama lol,I'll catch ya on the next one.
Did an amazing job considering it's your first time .
Thanks!!
Man that looks good
Fill the pipe with sand and cap it vit would support the thin tube
paint it black but patina it like the front bumper. that way it has some contrast. if it was white patina it would be to much white.
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 practice makes perfect.. awesome job
Manual tube bender is better ... It comes out neater
Machit it will look so good 👍 🇬🇺 vote 😃
Bending pipe isn't easy, big thing is just take your time especially when you get into multiple complex bends.
I've been an electrician for 20 years and still f up some conduit bends.
You need to bring those wheels in to the mix...Make them pop more...So I'm thinking color match the tubing of the rack to the rims and then white patina the Toyota section of the rack like you did with the front bumper.
Color match the truck and if it doesn't work... go black or one of your accent colors... Looks good.. different but looks good.
Black with rust would look good
I’m ready for something 4WD again! This build has gotten wayyy too hippie for me 😂
man .. how much weight have you add so far to this car .. i think 2 much for this engine
Just leave the cink in there it’s on the inside of the bend and just weld a gusset over the top to hide it and strengthen it.
Put a cap on that thing and you could deliver pizza for “Pizza Planet” 🚀
Do what you did with the bumper, but in matte black.
Sooooooo is it for sale lol looking good loving that cutout
Why not 14 bends in the rear tube too? [Edit: Watched the other video. Now I get it.]
I think you have to build the same one you have on the rear of the rack, to even it out..
i think matching white patina
Definitely rust it since you can do it so well
I think you have totally lost it. Not getting this truck at all. but to each his own insanity : -)
Rusty white so it will match with the truck
Should of stick the front forward so you got a visor out of it
I like the rack, not a fan of the logo part plus it’ll probably whistle like crazy.
Definitely black, in my opinion.
Magnetic metalic grey
Watch Paul on Fab Rats UA-cam. He bends a lot.
💪💪
Rusty white
gave that truck a lot of attitude. hope you back light the toyota
Blue or red
Black please
Make it the color of the wheels
Black
i was told there would be no math😫
Loving the Euro rat rod style your going for. So with that in mind i think 🤔 the white with rust would look(as ur bro would say) tittie's 😂
I think black
Give it the white crusty paint job.
A roof rack on a truck is a hard no.
Доброго здоров'я.
air brake adding weight nah
I think red to match the wheels
black
try red
Let it rust then clear it
Not good 💔.
Blend it to match the truck 🛻. It’ll look way better
Black
