I think you need a welding table to make a welding table. So, all you need is a $30,000 tractor to make your welding table. Nice job!

Foldable curtain between beautiful car and crappy weld splatter is a must imo. Sorry just read the rest of the comments on your TA.
    I second the mig settings tho . . . it's a welding video after all :-)
I'm not an expert welder, nor a good welder, or even a beginner welder BUT if it was me doing it I would be using magnetic angle guides to get your legs straight. I always call using spirit levels, getting it level with the world. You need the legs level with the table not the world - not your concrete slab. Good welding mate, I wish I could do that.

Shelves on the bottom for storage and structural integrity?

Man put a welding blanket over the glass of that car or back it out when you weld. The spatter will destroy glass.

Hopefully this isn't too late - but my 1/4" top warped similarly. My recommendation would be, and if I could do it over again, is weld your frame up square and as true as possible and then put the top on last and use minimal welding to hold top to the frame. Too may welding tables I've seen here on youtube have the top as part of the structural part of the table, which requires more welding to it. If your structure is a good strong and square frame you'll barely need to weld top to it and it won't warp. Good luck.

I think you're a good welder, and did a great job :) I think you should shout yourself a new welding helmet, I'm only a beginner welder but a mate loaned me his new one and it's amazing. Incredible clarity, allows you to see exactly what is happening in colour, self-darkens instantly, really comfortable, you won't believe the improvement. I fully respect your old-school skills though. Thanks for sharing!

You might be a bit taller than I am but I'm thinking that your table is a bit too tall fo rme. I would prefer a table about 30 inches, allowing me to reach the center of the table for some welds.
I would also suggest an auto-darkening helmet. They make is SO much easier to set and tack initial welds.

Find it rather amusing these videos who refer to the cheapest (budget) tables claiming already had metal. Whether they did or not…..it would not be cheap to replicate given current metal prices….. Really a joke…..

Awesome Video. I just came across your channel. A few days ago I bout myself a flux welder so I can begin to lean welding. I want to build myself a welding table but I don't have a garage so its too dangerous to have one outside because the lighting strikes around my area are just to close and powerful. So axed out that idea. Keep up the awesome work. Oh If it were my table I would have built a divided underneath platform so I could keep all the things Ill need close by. Such as your welding markers, measuring tape, safety equipment etc.

do yourself a solid and weld on 2 lifting rings. Space them 3 feet apart and then use 2 straps. will keep the table from swinging around wildly when you are lifting/flipping it over

Making my own welding table for home garage use. That is why I looked this up. You did gather your materials cheaply but I love that. Shop around guys. If you need a weapon mount yell. What a fantastic and affordable build. I got my Welding Table given to me but of course it was a mess the way they built it. I have almost got it straightened out and put four locking 6-in casters on it from Amazon. About $130 worth. I found that the table is very hard to guide when you are trying to push it in and out of the shop or any place. It wants to go everywhere except where you want to go. I figured it out that I could put some heavy duty butt hinges on two corners on opposite ends of the table. You can clamp or Bolt the hinges on to the leg above the caster. Get the caster going straight parallel with the table lengthwise. The butt hinge is mounted horizontal to the leg. Let the hinge drop down on top of the caster. Mark and cut it so that the outsides of the hinge will fall to the outsides of the caster. When you want the table to go straight just fold the hinge down to hold the Caster straight. I also put a trailer hitch on the table so that my yard tractor can move it wherever I want it no matter how heavy it is.

I know a guy that built a welding table put of steel grates welded together and a set of legs, all made from stuff he scavenged off of demolition jobs.
The first time he used it, he needed to weld a small excavator bucket. Well, he made the table too tall and he didn't have a good angle to weld. He pushed the bucket onto the ground and used the table to rest his arm for a steady. 😂
