That play was purposely made to give Patriots the ball. There were only two offensive starters on the field. In the interview, they said that the offensive coach figured it might be fun because in the rulebook that play would result in a defensive penalty but they decided to send out second string to try and further throw off the defense. It obviously didn't work because for the past four years the coaches for the Colts have replaced their brains with gelatin.
The Colts play should be #1. The others were just in-the-moment errors. But the Colts play was total nonsense...how can you run a play like that? LOL

I was at this game!! My dad, uncles, some of my cousins, and my brother use to go to the 49er games at Kezar long before they moved to Candlestick Park.
We wouls sit in that end where Marshall ended up! Everybody was laughing and yelling, "You're going the wrong way", "turn around". When he stopped in the endzone and flipped the ball over his shoulder we were hoping it would go back onto the field, which it didn't unfortunately.
After the game my brother and I laughed about that play as our Dad drove us home.

You guys haven't been keeping up with the Vikings recently have you? They have now beat 3 very strong teams. Panthers and the Broncos were last years Superbowl teams. Greenbay is also a solid team and you guys ripped em' apart. They haven't let anyone down this season.

I don't think the Dolphins should have been on there.
It was simply a blocked kick gone bad, so they had to improvise and they're frantically trying to make up for it. That literally could happen to any team.
The other plays, however, were things which could have been prevented.

yeahhhhhhh and i see both sides of this debate. Many of what I would consider the "worst" plays are ones that go wrong because they're awful, nonsensical calls or mistakes. The butt fumble and the Dolphins kick were much less preventable by the coaches and teammates, and even the players who made the mistakes.
Both entertaining tho.
I'll never forget watching the Desean Jackson play... I'm a Cowboys fan and my friend and I jumped off the couch when he tossed it backwards... Pacman ran to get it, but the ref blew the whistle and called a TD(it was close). Problem was the review didn't do much. Gave the Eagles 1st and goal at the 1 and they ran it in on the next play lol. It was so painful. DJ gives me enough nightmares. I didn't need a new one like that.

I was pretty much a peyton manning fan and just followed the team he was on and then he retired, once he retired I lost interest in any team and just watched football, went to a titans game the one where Derick runs a 99 yard TD agains the jags and became a fan of the titans. Next season we bought season tickets and been a fan of them ever since.

Colts never claimed anything. They didn't say shit about deflated balls it was brought into the limelight by the media. Not to mention these are 2 entirely different games

To be honest, that entire game made the deflated ball thing seem ridiculous. After half time, they confirmed that the balls were at the correct inflation and the Colts scored 0 points. They scored 7 points in the entire game! Hell, the Pats scored more in the 2nd half than they did in the first.

#1 happened on my high school team. Only thing is, they were on their own 1, and still had 99 yards to go. One of our linebackers makes a great play, tearing the ball away from the back, and has to run 1 YARD for a touchdown. He gets spun around, and ends up running 99 YARDS in the wrong direction, scoring a safety (td? I forget) for the other team. That was awkward.

The colts play was just a miscommunication. Whalen was a backup for the play and had only seen the play in the play book. The idea was to catch them in a sub. That was in the book. But, as Anderson was running on to the field, a coach caught him and told him to try to pull them offsides. Whalen wasn’t informed of this, and felt hands and snapped the ball. Kinda fucking hilarious

I'm a huge diehard Colts fan and I will say that was the worst play anyone could ever make in the history of the NFL. I'm glad that we have Frank Reich now, Pagano was okay in the first couple of seasons but he started becoming an awful coach much like Jim Caldwell. They didn't play like professionals that day and we could've won that game but we choked. I'm glad the Colts dynasty is starting to come back. I was so worried for the past 3 years, especially with how we started out in the 2018 season. I think we have a good chance at going into the playoffs this coming season if we keep balancing our offense properly.
