@Haku infinite force healing has been a thing in legends and during the Old Republic days. How anyone at this age learned it is beyond me. Baby Yoda knows force heal but that can make sense considering the mystery of his race. All we know so far is that Yoda's race naturally has a strong connection with the force and that they are born with strong force abilities. Also they live really long lives. Other than that nothing.
Even if she is a Skywalker.. what did she “rise” from? She never struggled or worked hard for anything... like even the name of the movie is a plot hole
She rose from her pure rage and fear, and basically the dark side. She rose from her own lineage and became her own person. The Skywalker's heart and soul (because Rey isn't related in blood, though I think it is suppose to mean she is skywalker in heart) rose above palpatine. Skywalker vs. Palpatine is basically "good vs. Evil" so good rose above evil.

I like Han's appearance and all, but I think Anakin's ghost would've been much better. Having Kylo's idol tell him that what he's been doing is wrong would've really ensured his turn to the light.
I like that idea but it would leave even more questions such as why would Anakin never appear until now when he could have intervened during his training with Luke, when he was channeling him in TFA or when Ren goes to the salt planet in TLJ. I still like the idea though it would be hard to find the right spot and dialog to make it work.

The weird thing I found about that scene was that Anakin built him. Why the hell would he make it so he can’t speak sith or translate it? @@zachtemoro2116 It is unlikely that Anakin programmed 3PO from scratch. Best ending for this trilogy would have been ME waking up & saying, wow, that was a bad dream. Or, the best ending for this trilogy would have been Hurley waking up & saying, wow, that was a bad dream.
No, not at all, in fact Palpatine shouldn't had died, and it's all due to stupidity. Would you say that the Emperor's lightning blast, in this case, was an EMP blast (well, at least similar to one)? Did you notice ANYBODY dying from his blast? No. Why? BECAUSE EMP'S DON'T KILL PEOPLE. They didn't kill a single alliance person, nor damage the ships in any way, save it knocked out their electronics, which is partly what EMP's do. So, the force bounce off Rey's sabers shouldn't have even scratched him. For once, boys and girls, the Emperor going into a frenzied attack he cannot pull out of, MAKES PERFECT SENSE, BECAUSE IT WAS incapable of hurting him in the least (except if he had a pacemaker, and even then, the pacemaker would had stopped long before Rey got close, since the EMP effect presumably takes place from the point of firing onwards. So now I hear you say, well certainly he changed his method of attack and resorted back to his killer lightning we saw in ROTJ. No. Because he never stopped firing (and IIRC, the alliance computers didn't come back up until the Emperor died), plus if he did change, he would have to cease the EMP blasting, then start up the other lightning, and he never did that. What's more, the killer lightning looks much different coming out of the hands, as it spreads to lightning form almost immediately. These EMP blasts went out as solid blasts for quite a while before they spread in a more familiar lightning pattern. These people were so stupid, seriously. Just to prove it even more, how do you stop an EMP blast from effecting the Final order's fleet as well? You can't, yet he did. This is because EMP's don't directly attack just certain ships or homes, they attack an entire area. The only leg you could stand on as far as that goes, is to think the two fleets hadn't intermingled at all. I guess you could also say this EMP style effect, doesn't work in quite the same way to achieve electronics hits, but the point is that EMP blasts do not harm life itself, and as the alliance didn't lose a single scratch due to it, then obviously it has the characteristics of not being able to harm life in any form just like an EMP, meaning, the Emperor got ripped off here, BADLY. And then insult of insults, we're told the fleet can't evacuate, or maneuver at all, due to some command control nonsense they made up. Wow, throughout all of humanity and it's wars, it is often the opposite is the case, because often losing command will actually see guys, whether in panic or not, LEAVE to just get away, or to shorten their lines of communications and also to more quickly have reinforcements get to their area if any are coming. This is just blatantly embarrassing how lame they were about the most basic things. They didn't have a clue. They would have been FAR better served to claim the Final Order never retreats, or surrenders, but no. It's such a dumb movie and the worst of the entire SW universe.
Even tho it didn’t matter. The worst part is that Palpatine told Rey his plan about her killing him. Why? Rey would’ve definitely killed him quick if he hadn’t told Rey his plan. I mean he’s a political master mind and Sith Lord. He shouldn’t be acting like a fucking b-list James Bond villain. XD
The BIGGEST ball drop throughout the entire trilogy is the Finn character....they had such a unique Character in A brainwashed stormtrooper who was force sensitivity awakens during a massacre....a star wars movie led by a man who was emotionally confused and conflicted by his light side and his experience in the order knowing that the other stormtroopers are basically brainwashed kids and people trained to be soldiers...that storyline could've been amazing
@@HungryHipster I strongly disagree the biggest ball drop......everything else in the trilogy is kinda rinse and repeat or simply fall short with everything else which is what most expected.....Finn's character however or his potential represented something truly fresh and unique for the franchise this proven by the trailers of the first movie Finn was the attraction the main character this stormtrooper with the "iconic" bloody helmet has left the order and is now on a journey to become a new jedi? Hell yea...but not only did we not get that falling for a bait and switch but the first movie was simply a remake of the OG star wars. To add to the insult they basically drugged his character through the mud of irrelevance as the franchise continued..
@@mtarrence16 I can respect your feelings and opinions. In regards to ball dropping I will give you an example of why I feel differently, changing directors and essentially the story by which the next producer can go there own direction which Johnson did in the second film which by the way ruined alot of stories direction and definitely screwed over Finns arc. That alone is a bigger ball drop because with out a story or vision for a character makes the character irrelevant essentially . For me personally what they did with the lore of it all was a collosal failure and very very disrespectful to the fans who buy there merchandise read the novels, books , comics. Etc. I could go on but I'm to tired. Even though Finn isn't really a fan favourite for everybody overall, I thought he could of been way more interesting to say the least.
@@HungryHipster I understand were your coming from here and I must agree with majority of your statement but my thing is yeah relaying on the troupes and nostalgia of a beloved series to gain fan favor and failing is bad and the changing of directors hurt the trilogy badly but what's worse is Having created new life for the franchise from the Beginning and using a bait & switch to hook in fans, Having a new perspective of the lore only to sacrifice it for the old, and trashing a chance to branch out from the Skywalker lore.....why is finn's missed potential the worse ball drop? Because tho I understand your point the fact is those directors still had the opportunity to bring their story to life whether good or bad you saw the end product Finn's potential will never see that same respect. Essentially his character went from being just as important if not more than Ray and Kylo Ren (I'm pretty sure I said his name wrong lmao!) To becoming a joke character like JAR JAR and his story irrelevant
I think the end of the movie would have been a lot better if Rey dies killing the Emperor, Kylo climbs back up, mourns, then HE goes to Lukes farm, and he carries on the Jedi order and the skywalker name... since you know, he IS a skywalker.
This. Her death could have saved Ben Solo from The Dark Side. It would have added depth to their weird relationship and she could have redeemed the Palpatine name. Instead we get a weird kiss and Rey choosing to become a Skywalker for some weird reason even though it was thanks to the sacrifice of her Palpatine Parents she was alive to begin with.
The entire triology is just a kick in the balls to Anakin: Palpatine is still alive. A girl named Rey was the "real" chosen One. His lightsaber is buried in sand. His son Luke did nothing after the 2nd Death Star and died anyways. Anyone can bring people back from the death now.

Anakin: I Need Him Mace: I can teach you Force healing and toss me your light saber so I can do a cross. Palpatine: Dies Credits: Written and Directed by George Lucas
Just gonna throw this in... If you remember anything about the Luke or Anakin trilogies, please recognize how GROWTH was a key factor in those movies. This is directly and obviously tied to their outfits, their actions, and their understandings of how the galaxy operates. They start off in white clothes, which get darker as the stories progress. Even Luke is clad, head to neck, in black by the end. Look at Rey. She’s still wearing her same mostly white outfit from the first scene we saw her. If you can ignore the smell, what does that say about her as a hero? That’s right - she’s still as innocent as when she was on that desert planet waiting for her parents. Everything she learned, everything she’s done, all the innocence-crushing experiences and trauma, and she never changed. Short of the marketing idiocy (which Rey is that? Every Rey in every movie!), no hero is worth watching if they don’t grow. At least the trilogy is over. I hope they bury it in the sands next to Anakin’s lightsaber and all those decomposing cassettes of Atari’s ET.
The worst part was that rey knew everything about the force in a week (the last jedi and force awakens happened in a week). Whilst Anaken (i dont know the spelling) and Luke trained over years.
When I saw the trailer and then watched Rise of Skywalker I seen Rey like did the director do a reverse of the character. I’ll give that Last Jedi had Rey maturing as it shows in her outward appearance but RoS undid that. From the leaked scripts and artwork I believe Colin Trevorrow vision for episode 9 was far better as progression goes but still needed tweaking.
Vader spent his entire life in the suit trying to heal his damaged lungs through the force and meditation...and he failed. But Rey though..."pff hold my beer..."
Well Vader did that in the EU. Not canon. In the EU, force healing was a light side only power. Thats why Vader failed but several Jedi even in the Clone Wars could do it, like Shaak Ti and Barriss (although they didn't bring people back to life). The darkside had an equivalent, kind of, but it didn't really heal you so much as allow you to endure. Like Darth Sion, or the fact Vader COULD survive without his suit for a while (in the EU). Still stupidly executed in the movie though.
@@SuperFang1 That wasn't categorized under normal force healing, just like Darth Sion's abilities weren't. Cade's ability was called Dark Transfer. It is different from healing, just like Sidious' dominating powers are categorized as different from Battle Meditation: they don't function the same way.
@@caffineandshiny Maybe its different but the end result is the same or even better, your loved one is saved from death. Thats what Anakin wanted, a power to save the ones he loved from dying. It can literally stop someone from dying, I think Cade even brings someone back from the dead. Even better than just healing, its also a dark side ability.
@@SuperFang1 yes, but what Vader was trying to do to heal his lungs was force healing. That is why he failed where a lightside user (such as Rey) can succeed, which is what I was addressing. Doesn't mean I agree with Rey just pulling it out of no where, especially when if they had stuck to the EU a bit more they could've explained it as Luke having taught it to her. But it doesn't break the lore to have Rey (or Luke, or Leia, or any lightside user) succeed where Vader failed, in this one (very specific and isolated) instance. All the other times...don't make the same sort of sense.
"The odds are a million to one!" "Don't tell me...wait, the odds are that bad? Thanks for telling me, I'm definitely not doing that dumb shit. " New Trilogy logic
The worst part about this movie is that the ENTIRE PLOT: every planet they visit, every mcguffin they find, and every story beat; takes place within 16 HOURS. Early in the film they put forth a time limit on the Palpatine's plot. "We only have 16 hours to defeat the First Order or they will unleash the MEGA ULTRA DEATH RAYS on every planet in the system." Also the entire first 2 movies happen over the course of a WEEK. Or to put it another way: Monday Rey is on Jakku selling garbage, and by Friday Snoke is dead, the super death star is destroyed, and Rey has beaten Kylo TWICE. 1 year time skip between movie 2 and 3, then the entire final film happens in less than a single DAY's worth of time... So what we actually get to see on screen is LITERALLY LESS THAN A WEEK AND A HALF OF ACTUAL IN UNIVERSE TIME PASSING!!!
That and also it is just pure garbage in every conceivable sense. What I learned from this whole thing is that JJ Abrams is all talk, no actual skill or knowledge. He CLEARLY faked it till he made it.

To be fair, he just had most of his life force sucked out by Palpatine. I interpreted that scene like this: both Kylo and Rey were going to die soon because of Palpatine (Rey didn't "die" because she deflected the lightning but because of the life sucking) and Kylo gave what remained of his life force so that at least one of them would survive. Idk if that was how the writer intended it but that's what makes the most sense to me
@@exantiuse497 I think the fact that two people interpret the scene differently means the scene clearly didnt make sense. It's like when Palpatine grounded an entire fleet of hundreds if not thousands of ships using force lightning but couldn't kill Rey with it. Makes. Zero. Sense.
The First Order was the most inconsequential regime in Star Wars history. Their reign was short-lived, their motivations were poorly characterized or not characterized at all, and we saw them accomplish almost nothing of value. The writing in his trilogy was horrendous. What was the point of the Order except as plot macguffin to set up conflict? Do they actually intend to rule the galaxy or just to eliminate the resistance?
Borsalino Kizaru They had a point before the Last Jedi said Fuck it. The entire final order and palpatine developments are because of TLJ. They needed a big bad, it was never to be Kylo, and they had to make him into a giant threat out of nowhere. That being said the first order was just an extremist cabal of former empire personnel under new leadership with better tech, and they did manage to according to TLJ conquer the galaxy, which is either 1.) more than the empire did or 2.) finishing what the empire started. Regardless of how you interpret it, they succeeded in perpetuating an even more brutal status quo than the empire, with far fewer resources, and did so against an organized legitimate republic and a sect of former rebellion personnel dedicated to opposing them, which is actually more impressive in a way.
Pitt Lord but my issue is they never explored why the First Order wants to take over and we never got to see a single second of them using their sovereignty. I think they just expected us to assume it’s a new Galactic Empire but didn’t explore it one bit. They were just used as villains for the entire trilogy but never actually used their rule onscreen. Their entire function in the new trilogy was to have a belligerent to fight the resistance, that’s it. No depth or motivation.
One thing that you have to give Lucas credit for was that he was able to build both convincing and interesting world's that felt alien yet familiar. The worlds the characters inhabit in the Disney films feel like cheap immitations of the actual Star Wars universe. None of the culture or politics that's encountered by the characters feels interesting or has character; it feels like it's just been quickly and cheaply put together in a board room.
Their motivations to be fair were clear. They wanted to restore the empire and the "order" they felt the galaxy needed. The final order was just bloodthisrty and a manifestation of the will of the dark side of the force. Too evil to even be considered fascist or any kind of coherent political ideology-just out to destroy.

I’m just commenting in hopes Joe Will this comment Ray is a Skywalker technically because Aniken was created by The emperor and the emperor is literally Aniken‘s father in a sense so she really is a Skywalker because Skywalker came from Palpatine! Not to mention the end of the movie where Kylo basically sacrifices himself for her giving his life force/the sky walker name/Legacy
I feel like it had to be Kathleen Kenedy's writing team that fucked up starwars, yeah Abraham's directed it and put it all together, but it was the overall writing that made it an incohesive mess. First you had TFA and as a fan I found it disappointing and the story hung by a thread. I get what they were trying to do with the call back and I appreciated it, but even for star wars it killed the suspension of disbelief. TLJ was the writers giving the director reign and the director wanting to do his own thing but had to awkwardly shoe horn his own ideas into a franchise and storyline that were too big for him. After a few rewatches it's a good movie and could have decent standalone if it were not using these established characters for a mainline trilogy. The story threads spread through a season of a season with new characters and similar events would have fit right in with something like Rebels. I think they should have gone with their original choice. JJ was too passionate about telling his story but didn't have the space, and the writers didn't have a plan to accomodate that. Allowing it to go in the wrong direction to begin with TLJ. At least the everything else starwars has been pretty good(save for solo imo).
Anyone else think Ben was a far better character than Rey? How tf was she even more powerful than him? Ben is the grandson of the chosen one (anakin). Rey is the granddaughter of Palpatine. Had anakin reached his peak with an intact body Palpatine would have been nothing to him
It's definitely a problem with how Rey was written. She didn't go through the heroes journey properly. She just suddenly gained whatever power she needed, when she needed it. Meanwhile every other Jedi had to train from childhood to obtain their abilities. With Luke being the exception, and even then he almost wasn't train for being too old at the time. Only gaining his powers by being trained by one of the best, Yoda. While struggling to lift a boulder.
Also the fact that Ben Solo was ACTUALLY trained as kid and teen under Luke Skywalker himself, he had SOME formal Jedi training, the whole "Luke decides to kill Ben" trope was fucking ridiculously terrible writing, first of all Luke is a Jedi and killing based off a vision you had is completely against Jedi morals, secondly this is LUKE SKYWALKER we are talking about, the guy who walked in and believed he could actually turn DARTH VADER, Luke has so much hope he believed in himself to turn a man who had turned to the Dark side permanently, years and years and years ago and was literally a full fledged Sith, but all of a sudden he does not think he can coax the dark side out of a boy who had just been turned recently and never became a sith? Kylo Ren should have Ben leagues ahead of Rey, Palp blood or not. Like you said the Skywalker bloodline is the most powerful, it defeated Palpatine once and spawned the two greatest Jedi ever. Rey was not a Skywalker so her mary sue , powerful for no reason abilities make ZERO sense if Ben Solo has an even more powerful bloodline. Palp/Sidious himself did not unlock his potential until AFTER learning from Plageuis the Wise. Also, you can't say it's because Ben never learned to control his power because Rey damn sure had no formal training and still was using the force and high level abilities like the mind read ability. Ben should have had the same ridiculous abilities paired with his actual formal training and stomped Rey all the way until the final film, that is how real stories work, but nah, Kathleen Kennedy could not stomach letting a male heavy (Lead antagonist) beat her girl power icon so it was written that Rey was unstoppable from the beginning. I do not understand how anyone could watch these three films in a row and not see how awfully written these characters are, Rey is the biggest piece of plot armor, mary sue, boringly OP hero you can make. She wins from the start, kicking ass, having abilities for no reason other than "bloodline". Luke failed , got his hand chopped off, was refused training at first but still trained under Obi Wan AND Yoda himself, and it was not until after that he was able to be strong, and even then he relied on Vaders strength to kill off the emperor or at least defeat him for the time being.
Kylo Ren started off in everyone's book as a whiny vader wannabe, And became one of the only good factors in these movies. Adam Driver is so fuckin talented.
I disagree, they ruined his arc for me. It definitely seemed like he was in many ways the anti-Vader before this. He was never humbled and grievously injured like Vader was on Mustafar, which allowed him to keep his potential but also made him rash, emotionally wild, and prone to mistakes. Unlike Vader, Kylo continuously felt conflicted about what he was doing, while Vader’s persona basically killed Anakin until Luke was able to metaphorically resurrect him. Despite this, Kylo twice denied redemption from those he was closest to, he murdered his father when he could have gone with him and he denied Rey’s offer to become Ben Solo again in The Last Jedi. This is probably Kylo’s worst outing for me, especially with that pathetic death.
Rey vs. Kylo in rise was saucy as hell though. Not to mention the fight at the end of force awakens with finn and rey vs. Kylo. I'm preparing for hate, lol
I know right, it’s explained in certain Legends comics that (from memory) force lightning is like pure Dark Side and that it is NOT easy to even begin to create it. It’s a sign of how powerful Palpatine is, because it’s pretty much his sole weapon in the OT and ST.

Haku infinite yep agree with all of that. And the funny thing is that force healing is only one of 10+ things so wrong about this film

@@AdamG1983 Rey used lightning.

@@hazardous8301 I would have to agree. I actually really liked the film and wanted to like the Knights of Ren in it but they were pointless. Their roles could've been replaced by any troopers easily.

darkfullgor 0_0 they weren’t sith and were not loyal to the sith. They did use the darkside but they saw the force very differently. They were a cult and there only loyalty was to the one with the title of Ren. They weren’t loyal to sith, nor were they to the first order. There only loyalty was to the Shadow(aka the force)and the one with the title of Ren. Your explanation does not explain anything because they didn’t hold a loyalty to anything u mentioned.

I hope they bury it in the sands next to Anakin’s lightsaber and all those decomposing cassettes of Atari’s ET.
i lost it at the Cassettes of Atari's ET ahahahahaha
coz we all know Rey is all about that white supremacy.....yes this is a joke no triggers pls
Just realized that Luke was clad neck to toes in black, not head to neck.

@@caffineandshiny
No in the EU Cade Skywalker had force healing powers and it was a dark side ability.
@@SuperFang1 That wasn't categorized under normal force healing, just like Darth Sion's abilities weren't. Cade's ability was called Dark Transfer. It is different from healing, just like Sidious' dominating powers are categorized as different from Battle Meditation: they don't function the same way.
@@caffineandshiny
Maybe its different but the end result is the same or even better, your loved one is saved from death.

So this movie completely shuts down the "Chosen One" profecy since Anakin did not bring balance to the force nor did he destroy the sith.

Correct. Anakin brought balance by killing Palpatine and dying afterwards. Unfortunately the balance didn't last very long but he did "succeed", right up to the point Palpatine is suddenly alive again and has been plotting behind the scenes.

So true.
Sometimes children are very special and a little bit slower than the other children. Ben is one of these special children.
Anakin is a force baby. Rey is the new chosen one
Kylo was stronger than Rey this film. During their duel and the first one to get up once Palpatine absorbed their life force
The most that Rey gets injured in this movie is when she gets a hand cramp while fighting Kylo on the Death Star wreckage.
Jeffrey Hudson Becker she literally died for a minute
@@d3gr4p6 and yet she lived.
Did you forget the part when she fuckin died
@@wldnrkls Did YOU forget that she came back making her death scene pointless?
@@wldnrkls She died but not because of taking damage, it would have been more significant if she actually died and Kylo was the one that lived
Ah, Darth Nihilus.. if a sith have something to be afraid of, it'll be him.
Kylo Ren started off in everyone's book as a whiny vader wannabe, And became one of the only good factors in these movies. Adam Driver is so fuckin talented.
Kylo Ren was really good in this. He was surprisingly intimidating. If only he was like this throughout the first 2 movies.
"Talented" more like 'the least worst'.
2UNIEK Adam Driver is incredibly talented as an actor watch his other work
@@YourBlackLocal Sorry, I focus too much on his ears that just won't quit to notice any of that.
No one can argue with me about this, Revenge of the Sith has the best lightsaber fight out of all 9 movies Anakin vs Obi Wan
Nope clone wars
JAMES BOND FAN 007 Theres a difference between iconic and good yours is iconic but not actually that good
I actually think ROTJ
Rey vs. Kylo in rise was saucy as hell though. Not to mention the fight at the end of force awakens with finn and rey vs. Kylo. I'm preparing for hate, lol
Morning Milk it was trash
I’m a simple man. All I wanted was a lightsaber fight to duel of the fates in the background. And they couldn’t even do that. 1 out of 10
Try out The Old Republic Cinematics for Light Saber
Try out making a good movie
Lightsaber duel wasnt even good and for the first part of the fight there was no music

Anakin: No Don’t you Dare

K.K: Because they are space wizards.
no. It's because the Force is a Woman
Technically they are 'space wizards'..
@@vrobbesom Yeah, but his point is that "they're space wizards" isn't a good enough reason.
Rey using force lightning just because she’s Sidious’ granddaughter makes no sense and was terrible
"Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong" Luke Skywalker
Exactly. Pretty sure you need training to use lightning.
Rey shooting lightning out of her hands is necessary to establish her connection to the Emperor because Star Wars is now for stupid people.
Maybe shes using KOTOR logic. Where she can use it even as a Light side user it just takes more force points as an alignment penalty
I know right, it’s explained in certain Legends comics that (from memory) force lightning is like pure Dark Side and that it is NOT easy to even begin to create it. It’s a sign of how powerful Palpatine is, because it’s pretty much his sole weapon in the OT and ST.
Stranger: Who are you?
Rey: No one.
Would've been a way cooler and respectable thing to say
