Fun Fact: Boo’s VA is called Mary Gibbs, who (despite being 24 now) was only 2 & a Half at the time of the films production, which caused issues as she couldn’t just stand on a recording studio and record lines. So instead the team just followed her around with a microphone as she played and got all her lines and sounds that way.

Yup and Mary Gibbs archival dialogue of Boo was later reused again for Young Riley Anderson in _Inside Out_ and for Boo in KH3's Monster's Inc. World.
Just looked her up. Now she does acrobatic yoga shit and has a pic with dreadlocks. I like dreadlocks. A mix between badass and nappy, yet natural and pretty when done right. the only hair style (with hair) that works with both hip hop and heavy metal music, hence the nu/rap metal scene.

I loved this as a kid and I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed Monsters University as an adult.
Me just realizing when you said "How did Randall not realize it was Mike and not Boo in her room?" is probably because of his bad eyesight which was revealed in Monster Uni
I mean I'd just think Boo had put on 300 pounds or sum idk
I would believe that over believing Mike had jumped onto the bed to prove a point to Sulley
Plus it was kinda dark so it wasn't easy for him to see that wasn't Boo.
This is a fun movie, just keeps you smiling most all the way thru. Even the touching goodbye, gets a wrapup hearing her call back to him. For October, you could look into the older 'monster' movies that you may not have seen yet. The original Dracula or Frankenstein for example.
Just watching this had me in the mood to rewatch the movie again, and boy has it been SO long lol. I think it would be pretty cool to see you react to Shrek or Toy Story. More throwback for the ages!🔥😁👌🏽

I second the recommendation of Shrek and Toy Story, and I would like to add Rise of the Guardians. As for spooky movies, how about Coraline or Hocus Pocus?

16:26 I'd imagine it was because A) Monsters University shows that, canonically, Randall needs glasses to see. I can attest that without my glasses, I can't tell a clock from a round picture frame, nor would I be able to identify someone from someone else, even if they were a few feet in front of me. As for him mistaking a large green sphere for a human girl in a pink shirt, that leads into B) it's dark in the room; not completely, but enough to cause shadows. And I just thought of C) even if he can go invisible, he doesn't want her to spot the box, and would probably not only be hiding where he couldn't properly see her, but as soon as he saw/heard/felt movement, he quickly grabs them with the box.
How to Train Your Dragon is probably my favorite trilogy by Dreamworks. Please do on a commentary on them if you can. : )
TBH I wasn't thinking anything dirty when you said "this is how someone could get me into bed too" talking about laying out a line of cheerios. My mind didn't go there until you said something. But the thought of baiting someone into bed for sex with a trail of cheerios is fucking HILARIOUS. I'm dead.
The way you put Sulley's character arc sounded like an environmentalist message, and I'm all here for it.
I when I saw the movie in theaters for the 3D rerelease, I immediately thought the scream extractor was like fracking.
this is great revisiting all childhood memories of good movies seeing this has got me wanting to watch some more of my childhood movies like atlantis, hercules, The Emperor's New Groove thank you for all your amazing videos it's nice to have something to look forward to
26:32 AWWWW! I never realized that you can see Sully's pupils contract/shrink in surprise, and then dilate/get bigger because he's happy to see Boo again! This moment always made me cry happy tears while their goodbye made me cry out of sadness :')

4:40 I love seeing how the modern world is adapted to such different creatures in films like Monsters Inc, Zootopia, Onward, Hotel Transylvania, etc.
What a gem of a movie! Brings me back to one of the earliest days of my childhood 😌
Among the kids that were screaming are director Pete Docter's kids Nick and Ellie (the latter voiced young Ellie in Up and was the inspiriation for Riley in Inside Out).
I've practically never seen any of the Pixar films, but I can't imagine but a sequel where Boo grew up and is trying to discover the truth of the monsters' existence, now that she would be about 22 years old now.

Watching the last episode of the new Monsters at Work series really expands on the ethical aspect and Sully's experience.
Actually, the ball was first introduced in the Pixar short Luxo Jr. and it makes a cameo in many Pixar movies including the Toy Story franchise, this movie and Up.
By the way, the trailer that Randall gets trapped in is from A Bug's Life (and the Pizza Planet appears in nearly every Pixar movie, except for The Incredibles).

Thanks for sharing your reaction and commentary ANGELINA. This is one of my Top 10 favorite Pixar films, and I enjoy it for the performances of Bily Crystal and John Goodman as Mike and Sulley, the humor and the relationship between Sulley and Boo being a father-daughter like relationship.
Interestingly it was somewhat inspired by Director Pete Doctor's own experience when he just recently had his daughter which shows how emotional the relationship between Sulley and Boo was so heartwarming and emotional and mirrors Pete Doctor when he had his daughter. Finally, it's amazing that it's been almost 20 years (as it came out in November 2001) since the film first came out in theaters.
Hope you get to react to the following Pixar films once you get the chance: Toy Story 1-4, Finding Nemo, Coco, A Bug's Life, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, Inside Out, The Incredibles 1-2, Soul, and Luca.

13:07 If you look closely (or just Google stills of this scene) you can see that Boo wrote her name on one of her drawings. You can see it as she pulls her drawing of Randall out from under the one that has her name on it. It's Mary Gibbs, which is a nod to her voice actress!
The reason monsters were able to scare so many kids that fast is that time moves differently in their world than it does in our world.
It is our world, just in the future, in Wall-E when the humans return they become mutated over generations- thousands of years. Humans have emotional energy and "magic" in the disney universe thats why Andys love for his toys makes them come alive and why laughs and screams can be harnessed as energy. We lost that ability when the species mutated into the monsters so they have to go back in time to when humans were still around. Also roughly the time the incredibles were around give or take a few decades.
I imagine the way that the way Sully takes care of Boo is the way you'd take care of a young child. XD
I found out the voice actor for Boo actually was the voice actor for baby Riley in Inside Out

A pretty good joke in this movie is that in the monsters inc ad or whatever was on tv, mikes face was covered by the logo. I find that joke pretty funny
A true testament to the Animators: Anyone can make a Crab-Spider *terrifying,* but it takes someone truly talented to make a Crab-Spider look and feel like a Doting Grandfather for most of the movie.
13:57 I used to know a girl who sang before she started talking. Apparently, it has something to do with singing and talking being controlled by different parts of the brain.
When Boo runs towards the door, she actually grows a little as she's in fact too short to reach the doorknob. It's not noticable (as it shouldn't) but it's a necessary movie cheat to make up for design. Also when Waternoose gets into the room, we don't see him go through the door as he wouldn't be able to go through being too wide, so it's another movie cheat. There's a blooper version on the DVD/Bluray that shows Waternoose doing the same line while stuck in the door.

Love this movie. How about The Others and from the 60s The Haunting that’s a good one I’m in my 60s now and it still sends chills down my spine. No special effects just mood music and lighting. It works on your mind. And a gem from the 40s The Uninvited it’s about a brother and sister who buy a seaside house that’s haunted. It’s a light hearted mystery with some genuine creepy moments
Fun Fact: Randall and Sully are voiced by Donny (Steve Buscemi) and Walter Sobchak (John Goodman) respectively from "The Big Lebowski"

Sulley's reaction of fainting over and over when he thinks Boo is going through the trash compactor, comes from the Chuck Jones Merrie Melody cartoon Feed the Kitty, when Marc-Anthony the bulldog watches in horror as he watches his mistress baking cookies and he thinks his kitten friend Pussyfoot got into the cookie dough and been turned into a batch of cookies, and he faints over and over again.

As far as some spoopy stuff to watch, maybe an episode 1 reaction to haunting of hill house? Haven't actually seen it myself, but I hear good things. For something more light hearted, but still on theme, scooby doo zombie island and/or the witches ghost are both phenomenal films and would be a fun watch
Monsters University was a surprisingly great follow-up.
Personally, I'd love a Haunting of Hill House reaction. My only worry is that the show roughly follows one character per episode, and the first two characters/episodes are the most 'boring'. So a little slow to start, but would be great reaction material.
I agree about Monsters University. I thought it was a very good sequel/prequel. Sometimes it's "cool" to hate on sequels. Same with Cars 3 (which I loved almost as much as the first Cars).

Hi!! I don't know how it works these days, but when this movie came out, the end credits were shown with a "bloopers reel," which I don't want to spoil it for you, but it was hilarious too!
I'm sorry but the appearance of Waternoose doesn't scare me in the slightest, it's his motivations that unsettle me,I mean he literally made a company that relies on the screams of children which is pretty messed up,not to mention the near death experience of Boo at the hands of Waternoose AND Randall,so Mike and Sully did the entire place a really great favour to use the laughter of children to power their station
I actually heard that this movie lost to Shrek along with Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius back in 2002 for the 2001 movie awards.
