The end of this movie always gets me teary-eyed. Every time.
Every time
Only a true friend would do that
Kitty!
@@shallowgal462 have you seen meatcanyon video on monsters Inc, it's messed up.
"Fuck this movie man"
Boo was voiced by the daughter of one of the animator's who around the right age. But it was difficult, because she was so young to get her to stay in the studio and record her lines. So they simply settled for the expedient of letting her wander around and recording what she said as she played, and then editing it together later.
Wow I never knew that. That’s wild.
I'd love to see some behind-the-scenes footage, honestly. It's sounds adorable.@@zacharybear7243
Even better!
omG! 🥹
Boo even shares the same name as the actress.
I always imagine that it would hit you even 10 times harder if they would have gone with the ending route where Sully opens the door and Boo says “Kitty” but in a young woman’s voice. Like even as a teenager, she still remembers Sully and believes in monsters.
yeah, I agree.
That wouldn't have hit nearly as hard as the original did for me.
@@Gutslinger aaand why is that
You’re so right
@@アキコ2003 Whatever new older voice would be unrecognizable and thus there's no attachment to that voice, as there is with the toddler voice that you've grown familiar and attached to throughout the movie. An older unrecognizable voice of an unfamiliar teen or an adult just wouldn't pull the same sentiments from me. So it wouldn't have been as impactful on me.
"USE THAT BIG ASS EYE AND LOOK!" 😂❤😂
I love how J didn’t really get teary eyed much at boo and sully goodbye but he got really touched by emotion from the complete beautiful way on how Mike fixed the door so boo and sully and see each other again.
I ugly cry at the end of this film every time. The symbolism for laughter being the strongest power/ source of energy, moving on while carrying a piece of someone with you wherever you go, and eventually the idea that you could cross a door where you would hear the voice of a loved one who you thought you'll never see or hear again, and on top of it that they're exactly the same as they were .
Sorry for those that lost their fur babies. I lost my best bud of 12 years in Feb 2022. F-ck cancer. To add: I really love your shirt! 🦕
...Boo?
Kitty!
Breaks me every time, and I've seen this movie a million times.
And I'll absolutely be here for any and all Disney/Pixar movie, every time!
Only if Disney goes back to making stuff like this. I will never watch crap like Snow Woke and the token dwarf.
Monsters Inc was wholesome.
God bless you, bro. I'm 57 years old, 6' 5", 240lb., and since we first watched it with our kids (two boys and a girl) years ago, this damn movie makes me ugly weep. In fact, it's legend in our house that when the kids wanted to see me cry, they forced me to watch this movie. Animated or not, the ending of this is brutal, especially for any father of a girl, but you get it, too.
This is so heartwarming.... I'm 28 so I grew up with this movie, and the ending never really hit me that hard until I had a daughter of my own 3 years ago. Now it makes me wanna cry like a little girl when I see it!
I get revenge on my daughter by making her watch How to Train Your Dragon 2. Get a hug every time.
Animated and live action movies can be good, bad, happy, sad, horrifying or hilarious. As long as the movie is put together well and has a compelling story, I couldn’t care less about the style it’s filmed in.
The second you said "I'm not crying." I was like "You will."
Never apologize for tearing up my man. It's a good movie that gives you the feels. I really look forward to seeing you do more animated ones 😃
I've my hopes on Soul. We'll all be crying with J on that one.
36:35 "Hey man I'm not crying . . . "
Monster's Inc. "Bet." 38:45
Always glad to see how to enjoy movies. Keep well.
Always loved how John Goodman and Steve Buscemi went straight from Walter telling Donny to shut the fuck up to Randall calling Sully a pathetic piece of waste.
Keep forgetting how much range they have.
Pixar always has a gift for sneaking up on your cold dead heart and giving you all the feels. Ain’t no shame in it. It just means the world hasn’t completely ruined us.
I love that duet between Billy Crystal and John Goodman. The song "If I Didn't Have You" is amazing.
@@rainbowpegacornstudios Disney DC23 just announced loads of cool ideas for Disney/ Pixar and theme parks! And Billy Cystral was a guest star and he sang “if I didn’t have you” remake! ☺️

ah man, everyone cries at earlier Pixar movies!! no worries.
Dude, your reaction to Beauty and the Beast was amazing! I got my cousin hooked on your channel because of it. More people will definitely watch you react to animated.
"Mike Wazowski!!" Boo is so damn cute. Love this movie
You got to love Mike's optimism and Boo is adorable. Glad J liked it 😊
Happy you want to watch more animated movies! There are SO many good ones (this one included)! You know they’ve done a great job in the creation when they can invoke your emotions just as well as live action.
Hugs to the copilots!
I'm more excited than I expected to be for this movie
I love this movie! John Goodman, is an amazing actor!
Great shout outs at the start. You are a good dude J and much respect and props for the compassion and kind words being offered. Its never easy for sure to lose a pet but awesome of you to reach out to those who have.
P.s. great reaction as always.
I hope you do Monster University. And the voice of Boo was a actual child, but they couldn't get her to stay still to record so they followed her around and recorded her.
My apologies for your losses for your pets. You're a very sweet man to make a note to your followers and showing just care and love with respect. I love being apart of this channel because of the good vibes on this channel.
Ditto.
Jay has the sweetest heart. Sorry about your allergies 😉
"Use that big ass eye and look!" -EOM Reacts
That was great!
Something about Monsters Inc always makes me smile and get a little emotional. It was from the era when Pixar was a sign you were getting a 10/10 animated movie. I still remember the night my mom took me to see this when I was young. It was great then and it's still great now.
My sisters are 10 and 12 years younger than me, and I remember watching this with them when they were *little*. I've loved this movie ever since, which is good cuz it was played on a loop for a long time 😂 my mom STILL yells "we have a 2319!" EVERY time she finds a random sock laying somewhere in her house.
One of my favorite new animated films. Has so much heart, great lines, and the kid is insanely cute. @JL I adore and love your lines of humor and your emotional reaction to heart and pathos. I thank the EOM staff and it's amazing donating patreons.
Im not gonna lie, I started crying at the same time. And I’ve seen this movie a bunch. It just hits different
Amazing... I cry every time at the end of this one, they closed it out perfectly with her little voice "Kitty!!"😢 On another note, in 2023 the monsters would probably more scared of the kids!
I cried happy tears too!!
Finding Nemo is great pixar movie.
I quote the seagulls for days everytime I watch it!!
"Mine"!
The hallmark of a powerful story is the ability to make the audience cry.
It’s crazy how much Sulley actually looks like John Goodman as a blue furry monster 😆😆
I loved him in his supporting role in “Flight” with Denzel.
That’s was a fantastic character.
Needed a spin off tv series just on that character
I would totally watch that, he stole all the scenes he was in in "Flight."
Fun Fact: George Wendt, who played Cliff Claven on the long-running TV comedy Cheers, is the only actor to have a voice part in *EVERY* Pixar film ever made. In this one he's the Himalayan monster who makes the sno-cones :)
I think you mean John Ratzenberger. George Wendt played Norm.
I loved your reaction. ❣Adorable... especially the ending for you and for me to see your joy. "Kitty's face at the end....Special 💖Yes to more like this. I'm in. 👌
This is my first movie as a kid that I sat through the entire thing I’m pretty sure I just aged myself with that one but absolute classic and the prequel/sequel movie they did years later is also a lot of fun imo
This movie's plot is so dense for a kids' movie and yet clear and concise. Following this story and figuring out how all the rules come together and pay off in the end, this movie was my shit growing up.
Pixar managed to make a G-Rated conspiracy thriller.
And everybody been trying to copy it ever since.
Iron giant was one of mine I also sat through toy story aristocats and fox and the hound
I saw this in the movie theatre as a teen. It was a lot of moms and kids cuz it was during the day. EVERY ADULT CRIED AT THE END. You could feel the emotion, it was wild. Kids loved it.
there’s honestly some well built up scares in this movie. can’t wait for his reaction to Roz, Pixar’s Jabba. not sure if Pixar/Disney changed anything but I hope he sees the “musical” at the end.
Thank you for doing this movie. It's one of my faves. I'm 40 and I still get teary eyed at the end, so thank you for also sharing the tears.
Shout out to the ppl who lost their pets. I'm sure they're already looking in on both of you 🫶🏻
I always love how real and raw your reactions are bro! Always love when you post a vid keep shining! Can't wait till you see Monsters University!
I cried at the end of the movie!
One of the sweetest endings ever - beautiful touch - great reaction as always ;)
Damn shame those allergies acting up! Mine started about the same time. Great reaction! Really enjoy watching your reaction to some of the animated movies that i used to watch with my kids.
The laughs are way more powerful. I love that
New to the channel here! You react to a lot of great movies and your laughter brings me so much joy. Looking forward to this reaction to Monsters Inc. One of my favorite movies as a kid.
Welcome to the family -J
Went to see this in the theater in high school, it was one of my first dates with my now-wife. Still one of my very favorite Pixar movies.
Great reaction as always man. The ending always gets my allergies acting up, too. Fantastic shirt too.
Ice Age and Lilo & Stitch are another two fantastic films.
Someone's cutting onions near me....😭
I'd forgotten how good that movie is.
Monsters, Inc. is, no question, in the argument for the best final few seconds of any movie ever made.
"Kitty!"
When J gets sad at the ending.. it warms my heart to see that even he’s not ashamed to cry a bit at a great movie.
I went high-pitched laughed myself off the side of my chair when you asked, "What if it was a shirt?" omg J. You're a national treasure. (And I love your shirt!) ♥
Steve Buschemi, an American hero. He was an NYC firefighter before he made it as an actor. When 9/11 happened, he flew in and reported to his old firestation for duty. He was on ground zero.
It's lowkey terrifying that Randall got turned into Cajun gumbo, but he also deserves it...
When Randal gets sent to the trailer in the swamp, the truck is the same pizza planet truck from toy story.
Dude, great reaction! Did you watch through the end credits for all the hilarious outtakes? I think maybe you might have missed them.
You saying “I’m not gonna cry” and me side eyeing and muttering “Yes you will” 😏
I cry every time he opens the door and she says “Kitty”, every.damn.time.
Aww, your reaction made me tear up! I love it. Thanks for being such a bad ass and sharing your reactions with us. You’re my favorite!
You threatening to beat up Mike for throwing snow cones at you is just golden XD
That’s special for the shout out to those who have lost “co-pilots”. Keeping their memory alive is true love.
Peak (modern) Disney right here ❤
Pixar made it.
The last good Disney-made thing was Tangled
nailed it@@samwallaceart288
The sequence where Sully thinks Boo is going through the garbage processor was inspired by the Warner Bros cartoon 'Feed the Kitty.' It features Pussyfoot, an adorable little kitten, and Marc Antony, the big bulldog who is super-protective of her. In the cartoon, Marc Antony thinks that Pussyfoot has fallen into their owner's cookie batter. Sully's reactions as he thinks he's watching Boo get crushed and mangled are inspired by Marc Antony's reactions to watching what he thinks is Pussyfoot going through different steps of the cookie-making process.
I caught that the first time I watched this with my nephews they were little.
You hoping he sees Boo again and tearing up at the end makes you even more endearing. You always make me laugh, but this made me want to cry too. And I've seen this a couple dozen times. Hugs
You're gonna really love the Prequel with them exploring kindergarten for awhile and then the University, lots of things will make you feel things and have you go back to your childhood.
I don't cry at the end, even though it's super emotional, but I cried watching you cry. Something about seeing you experience it for the first time got me.
The slow-mo walk out was based on the movie The Right Stuff about the real-life pilots of the space program. Definitely a great movie and an educational one about the bravery of pilots taking dangerous risks.
Literally my favorite animated film of all time
Just wanted to let you know that whenever I’m having a bad day, I always watch your videos and I’m smiling! Your laughter is absolutely infectious!
In less than a year you've become one of my favorite reaction channels; appreciate you putting yourself out there and letting all of us enjoy these with you!
Kitty & Boo 😭 the cutest ever
Randall is voiced by Steve Buscemi. And that scene when the monsters enter the scare floor to the inspiring music is a reference to The Right Stuff, a film about the space program in the Apollo era.
Came here to say that! Also a great movie. The Right Stuff was about the first space program which was Mercury. Next was Gemini, then Apollo 😊
Welcome to the Himalayas!🍧
Boo is so cute. Wait until you see Monster University. That movie was good too. The ending gets me everytime 😢
Don't be afraid to cry my dude. Your body releases toxins and sheds psychological baggage through emotional tears. Most of us are crying right along with you, because that ending hits just as hard every time. Pixar is very good at what they do. :P
the ball boo gives sully in the end is the ball from andy's room in toy story
Can’t believe you didn’t say anything about the yellow snow cones!🤣🤔😎
When this movie came out, my much older brother had a daughter to was the joy of our life. She looked just like Boo with her pigtails and this movie really hit home for us because of the beautiful story and Boos resemblance to my niece. We must’ve saw this movie atleast half a dozen times in theaters. Core memories that I cherish.
Same. My mom used to call my little sister Boo and did her hair just like hers.
Thanks for taking me down memory lane brother
I was 6 years old when this movie came out not that I’m 28 it has so many subliminal references that shot clean over my head and it hilarious 😂😂😂
Ooh!! Celia is voiced by Jennifer Tilly ! She is Chucky’s bride voice in “Bride of Chucky “ she’s great!! 🎉
I always get her & Meg mixed up. They sound so much alike.
"Boo?"
"Kitty!"
Emotional Damage! 😭
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Mary Gibbs.
Music Enthusiast Fact: If I Didn't Have You (2001) by Randy Newman finally netted the composer an Academy Award after 16 nominations.
Obvious Foreshadowing Fact: Whenever the CDA arrives, Roz( Bob Peterson) tends to pull down the shutter to her office, likely to hide the fact that she's the leader.
What Script Fact: The sequence where Mike is waking up Sulley (John Goodman) he was supposed to blow an air horn and yell at Sulley but Billy Crystal improvised the radio weather forecast sequence and the directors loved it and decided to keep it in the film.
Voice Play Fact: Mary Gibbs was so young that it proved difficult to get her to stand in the recording studio and act her lines. Instead, they simply followed her around with a microphone and cut Boo's lines together from the things she said while she played. John Goodman and Billy Crystal sometimes recorded their lines in the same room together, an unusual move for animated films, where actors more often work alone. Steve Buscemi and Frank Oz (Randall and his assistant Fungus) also recorded their lines together for the bathroom scene. Bob Peterson, the movie's story supervisor, provided the temporary voice of Roz, the green secretary, during production. The nasal, sing-song voice proved to be such a success that they kept it in the final film.
BakedBiehn. ...My pleasure, Steve. Have a good weekend! 😁
Go with God and Be Safe from Evil. 😎 👍
33:28 If you've seen A Bug's Life, you would recognize that location.
I'd love to see someone react to that classic.
Haven’t seen this movie in like 20 years since I was a kid! Love the reaction 🔥
Watched this as a child. Watched your reaction and boy oh boy that had me in tears. Great reaction as always
hey you let those manly tears fall, its such a good movie. also all this happened at night in the real world. so her parents are asleep. time is different in the monsterverse
8:17 This is from the movie "The Right Stuff" about the dawn of the space race.
F****** excellent movie
Another stellar review, if you ever react to Cars I'd definitely recommend watching Doc Hollywood before. Cars totally ripped it off making a weaker version IMO but I'd love to see your takes on both. Michael J Fox, Woody Harleson and Bridget Fonda are awesome in it and is a great light flick for lesser days IMO.
The eww part was hilarious 😂.
myself and kids love monsters inc
Another perfect reaction. I forget has J seen UP??? Because if not he MUST do that one if only for the puppy! ❤❤❤
Wonder if he saw the post credit of the ridiculous yet funny play they put on as a call-back to earlier scene
Your reactions make me laugh & smile. I love your fur babies! Thank you.
@JL someone far smarter then I said if you take time to laugh each day cry each day and think on something each day, you will never waste a day.
I lovelovelove that you support your followers so much to wish them good vibes as they suffer a loss. You’re so kind.
Hi JL I really enjoyed your reactions and comment during Monsters Inc. very much. I remember the first time I watched it I cried ....tears down my face and choaked up . When Mike put back Boos's door for Sully.... that's a true friend . This maybe animated from Pixel but that does not make it any less a movie than any of the classics . I look forward to watching more animated and Pixel related movies in EOM Reacts.
To me if Monster's Inc. doesn't touch a piece of someone's heart they need to get in touch with their inner child ASAP . I Love this movie a lot . Thank you.
there is a theory that says Boo is actually Andy's mom, Monsters Inc is a prequel to Toy Story in a way. of course its just a theory, but a fun one.
If you're looking for more animated movies i highly suggest watching "Coco". Such a good story and message and sits close to my heart with it being focused on the Mexican culture. ❤
Coco made me uncontrollably cry, it was so touching ❤️
You trying to see J ugly cry I see
Coco is so beautifully animated! It makes me ugly sob every time 😅
@theshadowking194 He wouldn't be the only one ugly cry...that movie gets me every time lol
My dad, who passed in 2021 loved animated movies, including Coco. We put some of the lyrics to "Remember Me" on his funeral program. I've been too scared to watch the movie again since his passing, however.
Pixar has mastered ripping your still beating heart outbid your chest, showing it to you, and making you happy for the experience.
I just have to say that your laughter is so contagious! Every time I watch one of your videos I find such a huge smile on my face. Thank you.
39:12 thats the nicest way you could've put that. 😂
