I have the exact same cutter at home that I bought from Amazon. I used chilled pie dough and it didn't work at all for me. I was making a pie for someone's birthday and wanted the top lattice crust to look beautiful. My pie crust was an all butter pie crust.
How about sharing tips about the actual recipe that works best as well as the required thickness of the dough. I’m an experienced pie maker and my experience with the leaf pattern was terrible!!!
The only way this will work is with extremely firm dough (think non-flaky). If you have tender, fragile dough, this falls all apart before you can get the top put together.
That was certainly my experience. I’m an experienced pie maker and I wasted about 45 minutes on the leaf design. I was so frustrated, the pie crust totally fell apart. I doubt I will try it again and will certainly not spend money again to buy other designs.
