Four of the original ninja are the focus of the first season and Lloyd is the mascot ninja. Lloyd is the focus ninja of season two and Zane is the focus and mascot character of season three and the Kai is the focus ninja of season four and mascot character and was confirmed by Tommy Andreson on Twitter. While Lloyd is the mascot character of season five the focus character is unclear and up for interpretation Jay is the mascot and focus ninja of season six day of the departed, Cole is the mascot, character and focus ninja. Kai and Nya are the focus ninja and mascot characters of season seven I know the Ninjago movie isn’t Cannon, but I’m gonna say that Lloyd from Ninjago movie is the focus and mascot character. Lord Garmadon was the mascot character of season eight and Lloyd was the focus and intro character of the eighth season. Though Master Wu is the mascot character of the ninth season there is no focus character of season nine not only is Garmadon the main antagonist of season nine along with Iron Baron. He’s also the intro character of the ninth season Garmadon himself. Cole is the intro character of the 10th season but however there is no focus of season 10 confirmed by Bragi Schut on Twitter. I don’t believe there’s a mascot either lol. Though Kai is the mascot character for season 11 there is no focus for the 11th season of Ninjago once again confirmed by Bragi Schut on Twitter. And trust me, Jay is the focus and mascot character of season 12 lol. Cole is the focus and mascot character of the 13th Ninjago season. That's a good thing, the four main Ninja have no real powers with them only coming from Loyd or the golden weapons. So due to that they're powers shouldn't develop unless they get the weapons back, something similar or if Lloyd gives them more of his powers.

What's interesting is that it was Rebooted that introduced the tradition of focus seasons. I mean, Ninjago wasn't supposed to be something long-lasting. It was supposed to be a short story about Kai first, then Lloyd. And it was Rebooted that made focus seasons for each character something mandatory
Dragons rising in my opinion is sora. Arins story is told in one episode. While sora has three episodes dedicated to her story. Especially the photacs. And possibly in part two so sora can find her true potential.
Has anyone notice how the show doesn't focus on a lot of the struggles Cole goes through? I mean Cole to carry a lot of the burden and take on tasks no one said he should do like raising wu, getting the team back together, etc. The show doesn't give us between Lloyd who has to carry burden and Cole who chose to carry burden. I agree. Cole has always been the leader of the Ninjas. Not only was he the first that Sensei Wu met and trained, he has also always been the most level headed ninja. Also, I think his element being “earth/rock” is a metaphor for him being the rock of the team, or the foundation sort to say.
Dont hate me, but I think Garmadon is the focus character for March of the Oni, the season itself focuses on him teaming with Lloyd and the Ninjas and eventually his redemption of some sorts.

Season 5 is definitely about Kai, the whole season it’s about Kai and his vow to always protect Lloyd. He constantly tries his hardest to get a step ahead Morro and save Lloyd because that’s what Kai vowed. He even has nightmares about it, and it shows his development in him making sacrifices and conquering his fear of water to try and save Lloyd.

While it may also be a little bit of a team season, Kai is still the main focus and is one of the biggest reasons the Ninja actually defeat Morro with his initiative to save Lloyd.

I actually think that season five is a team season, and if I had to choose a single focus it would definitely be kai, Lloyd has his moment in the finale but most of the season is about kai trying to get Lloyd to break out of the possession every chance he can
eh, Kai’s brotherly connection with Lloyd was kinda ditched after the season and was barely developed. I think it’s a Nya season ever since Nya was revealed to have water powers she was pretty much destined to defeat the ghosts and had a good amount of development throughout the season. Kai didn’t change one but he only had like 4 moments.

I would say the ice chapter is more about Zane than the fire chapter is about Kai. Like Zane goes through another amnesha arc and also gets a villain arc.
Yeah, I agree. Yes, Kai loses his powers in chapter one, but it's not really focused on. And Zane is literally gone for majority of chapter two. I would actually say that chapter TWO was a Kai season or maybe even a Nya season, but not a Zane season. And I don't know who the focus of chapter one is.
For me the concept of the focus ninja is what sets the show apart from universes like the Avatar universe. Like everything’s about Aang and Korra. We don’t get to see the other characters shine and be a fighter for peace

Well I knew it was Lloyd from the start when Zane had the vision, his eyes are the same, plus furthermore Lloyd became an important character from the very first episode then had the reveal of the Green Ninja prophecy.
Pythor should have had a bigger role in Crystralize. He served as Lloyd enemy and ally. He released the Great Devourer which created the Quiet One. He has been one of the threats that have used Vengestone.
We need to get rid of this false premise that every season has a focus Ninja. Some season have a focus Ninja and others don't. It's as simple as that, don't force a focus Ninja where none exist. Also, why is box art such a determinant factor in determining the focus Ninja? By that argument Garmadon's the "focus" ninja of season 8 and Lloyd is the focus of season 5 even though he was possessed for most of the season and functionally not a character.
What I find about the titles after season 10 until crystallized Is like fire chapter (season 11 part 1 ) the ice chapter (season 11 part 2) the lightning chapter (prime empire) the earth chapter (master of the mountain) the green/energie chapter (the island) the water chapter (seabound) and finally the final/golden chapter(crystallized) And this is a head canon for me Because on Netflix the naming is weird after Season 10

Often, when I try to find out who the focus ninja of a season is, I've noticed that the focus is often on whoever gets the climactic final battle, but overall I'd say it's Pilots: Kai (duh) S1: Whole team (there really isn't a singular focus, but Kai and Lloyd are acceptable answers) S2: Lloyd (duh) S3: Zane ('nother duh) S4: Lloyd (season focused a lot on his relationship with Garmadon and his whole family dynamic, and while Kai gets a lot of screen time, it's more of a subplot) S5: Lloyd (quite a lot of time was focused on the identity of the green ninja and Lloyd did get a lot of focus at the end) S6: Jay (duh x4) DotD: Cole (big duh) S7: Kai (easy to say, but I also feel like Nya had a lot less relevancy in the main plot compared to Kai. Season 4 focuses on Kai with an equally as important Garmadon/Lloyd Storyline. The whole point of the Kai “subplot” is to have him build his relationship with Skylor, which results in him gaining Chens trust, and then he saves Lloyd. “The element of surprise” sequence focuses significantly on Kai too.

Yeah even in seasons where Kai takes a back seat, 1-3, and 6 Kai is still treated as ultimately the main character, while still treating Lloyd as the leader. Kai has his speech moments in those seasons, namely the speeches when wu and Zane are believed to be dead. And Kai is the last character to speak at the end of season 2, when the franchise was originally supposed to end.
I think that they planned out seasons 11-15/16 (whatever u wanna call it) giving every ninja a spotlight, and then doing a team thing for Crystalized, which was the finale of Ninjago.

I still think the entire oni trilogy mainly being about lloyd character arc in the grand scheme of things but hunted could be more abo it Wu than it is for lloyd. And with prime empire it hardly focuses on jays character in the overall aspect of the season itself. Now that season 2 of DR is out, I wanna say the focus is ether Kai, Sora, or Arin. Kai for getting stuck in the forbidden realm with Bonzle even though he didn’t have any screen time in the second half but he was still kinda the character who got everyone’s powers back, the first to master the dragon ability, and had quite a bit of screen time in the first half, Sora for almost winning the elemental competition, and Arin for being the one to find the villain who sabotaged the competition. In my opinion, Kai had the most going on so I’m gonna argue that this season’s focus ninja is Kai.
I think that if we are being honest, season 4 is about Lloyd. I mean look at the scene where Lloyd dives off the bounty and flashbacks to memories with his father. Then, he came back to sacrifice his dad. Then, he burned the book of spells. He was in the main scene for the ending and it was him vs chen in the final round. So to me, season 4 was a Lloyd season
I think that the main character of Dragons Rising season is Sora as the villians are litteraly her people and we've seen her develop more as a character than Arin

Still though Kai has never gotten a proper full on focus season and has never defeated a main villain. Also I would say fire chapter and ice chapter are both Lloyd focus. Like all that happens to Kai in the fire chapter is he loses his powers and the ice chapter tha majority of time we are following Lloyd.
Kai has full focus seasons he like S1, S4, S5, S7 and DR S2 Part 1. He just never Defeated a main villain in any of them. In S1 and S7 he was focused in the Finale episodes. For me it doesn't matter who gets the final punch it's about who has the most development in the season Edit: I meant DR S2 Part 1 was mostly Kai focused not S1 P.1
@ season 1 he shared the spotlight with the rest of the ninja. The pilots he had the most screentime and was the main character but by the end of the pilots it was still a group thing. Season 4 had one storyline with him falling in love with Skylor and turning evil (briefly). Those weren’t even big focuses of the season, the rest of the season focused on the tournament, Zane, and then the last episodes of the season were Lloyd focused. Season 7 was barely a Kai season as it was a duo season with Nya. In the end of season 7 it still didn’t focus on Kai. DR S1 Part 1 was very clearly not a Kai focus season and focused more on Lloyd, Arin and Sora. It does matter that Kai has never defeated a main villain, especially since every other ninja has defeated a main villain. Even Sora has beaten a main villain and she just joined the team. Kai has been a background character for ages and even though DR season 2 Part 1 gave him a fair bit of focus, in Part 2 where we could of seen one of the coolest storyline’s in the shows history of him being trapped in the Nether space, it ended up being a side plot that was only 3 minutes long total from what I believe.
@@wazzawarrior5715Oh I understand your opinion. I think Kai's arcs get cut short like S4 after 8 episodes Kai is just There and The Finale was more about teamwork than Kai. In S5 after He Saves Lloyd in Episode 8, the Focus Shifted to Lloyd and Nya. if only Kai and Lloyd teamed up to Fight Morro on a 2v1 it would have fleshed out their dynamic. For S7 Wu is the one who defeated the Time Twins so you're right. Kai has been done dirty because of the writers back then but DR S2 P.1 has made him feel like a main character after 7 years. I hope he gets more focus soon
@ same, and now that in DR season 3 part 1 I hope he gets some more screen time again. Especially with helping Nya find Jay, it would be really cool to see Kai (someone who’s been well known to make fun of Jay for just existing) be one of the reasons why he rejoins the team (though I think that’ll mainly be Nya’s job).

The focus of season 4 was on Garmadon we learn more about his past he is the one who teaches Lloyd and the other ninja and in the end he sacrifices himself. He deserves it much more than Kai. As for season 5 I'm more pro Nya ,but if we're looking at the evil green ninja I'd rather have Morro.
If anything season 5 is a kai season because of the fact that it was about kai saying he would protect lloyd and he was the only one to make lloyd come out of morro somtimes and if you think about it kai would of been morro if kai was evil becausd morro is just an evil version about kai *they both wanted to be the green ninja and both the orginal ninja kai being the first ninja we meet and the first ninja wu teaches and they were believed to be the green ninja but after finding out that they werent morro decided to prove him self to be the green ninja while kai accepts the fact that he would be the green ninja so thats why i think kai is the focus ninja*
Don’t fans consider season 15/16 to be a team focused season? I mean I know it’s supposedly a Lloyd season but can also be considered a team season I mean I asked this question a lot on UA-cam and I’m surprised no one has talk to me about it before but that’s just my opinion I guess, but do some people agree with me? I’m also going to consider the 10th season to be a team focused season as well. The overlord was also a Zane Villain, because Zane defeated the overlord as the golden master so that’s Zanes villain to and I wish they had an interaction in season 15/16. I wish we could’ve seen him wanting revenge on Zane and it’s kind of a little disappointing to Lloyd was like I defeated the overlord without any Oni form remember? But what about Zane? He also defeated the overlord before does anyone remember that? why remember Lloyd’s and not Zanes? I loved prime empire and skybound (jay is my favourite character) but I always hated that his powers never evolved, because let's face it, jay is pretty damn powerful, its LIGHTNING he just didnt get any really powerful moments like the others in ninjago

That's a good thing, the four main Ninja have no real powers with them only coming from Loyd or the golden weapons. So due to that they're powers shouldn't develop unless they get the weapons back, something similar or if Lloyd gives them more of his powers.

What's interesting is that it was Rebooted that introduced the tradition of focus seasons. I mean, Ninjago wasn't supposed to be something long-lasting. It was supposed to be a short story about Kai first, then Lloyd. And it was Rebooted that made focus seasons for each character something mandatory
So technically First season did make it a tradition without knowing correct, season 3 allowed to have it that tradition.
Dragons rising in my opinion is sora. Arins story is told in one episode. While sora has three episodes dedicated to her story. Especially the photacs. And possibly in part two so sora can find her true potential.

Has anyone notice how the show doesn't focus on a lot of the struggles Cole goes through? I mean Cole to carry a lot of the burden and take on tasks no one said he should do like raising wu, getting the team back together, etc. The show doesn't give us between Lloyd who has to carry burden and Cole who chose to carry burden. I agree. Cole has always been the leader of the Ninjas. Not only was he the first that Sensei Wu met and trained, he has also always been the most level headed ninja. Also, I think his element being “earth/rock” is a metaphor for him being the rock of the team, or the foundation sort to say.
Dont hate me, but I think Garmadon is the focus character for March of the Oni, the season itself focuses on him teaming with Lloyd and the Ninjas and eventually his redemption of some sorts.

Season 5 is definitely about Kai, the whole season it’s about Kai and his vow to always protect Lloyd. He constantly tries his hardest to get a step ahead Morro and save Lloyd because that’s what Kai vowed. He even has nightmares about it, and it shows his development in him making sacrifices and conquering his fear of water to try and save Lloyd.

I actually think that season five is a team season, and if I had to choose a single focus it would definitely be kai, Lloyd has his moment in the finale but most of the season is about kai trying to get Lloyd to break out of the possession every chance he can
eh, Kai’s brotherly connection with Lloyd was kinda ditched after the season and was barely developed. I think it’s a Nya season ever since Nya was revealed to have water powers she was pretty much destined to defeat the ghosts and had a good amount of development throughout the season. Kai didn’t change one but he only had like 4 moments.

Yeah, I agree. Yes, Kai loses his powers in chapter one, but it's not really focused on. And Zane is literally gone for majority of chapter two. I would actually say that chapter TWO was a Kai season or maybe even a Nya season, but not a Zane season. And I don't know who the focus of chapter one is.
For me the concept of the focus ninja is what sets the show apart from universes like the Avatar universe. Like everything’s about Aang and Korra. We don’t get to see the other characters shine and be a fighter for peace

Well I knew it was Lloyd from the start when Zane had the vision, his eyes are the same, plus furthermore Lloyd became an important character from the very first episode then had the reveal of the Green Ninja prophecy.
Pythor should have had a bigger role in Crystralize. He served as Lloyd enemy and ally. He released the Great Devourer which created the Quiet One. He has been one of the threats that have used Vengestone.
We need to get rid of this false premise that every season has a focus Ninja. Some season have a focus Ninja and others don't. It's as simple as that, don't force a focus Ninja where none exist.
Also, why is box art such a determinant factor in determining the focus Ninja? By that argument Garmadon's the "focus" ninja of season 8 and Lloyd is the focus of season 5 even though he was possessed for most of the season and functionally not a character.

Season 4 focuses on Kai with an equally as important Garmadon/Lloyd Storyline. The whole point of the Kai “subplot” is to have him build his relationship with Skylor, which results in him gaining Chens trust, and then he saves Lloyd. “The element of surprise” sequence focuses significantly on Kai too.

I still think the entire oni trilogy mainly being about lloyd character arc in the grand scheme of things but hunted could be more abo it Wu than it is for lloyd. And with prime empire it hardly focuses on jays character in the overall aspect of the season itself. Kai for getting stuck in the forbidden realm with Bonzle even though he didn’t have any screen time in the second half but he was still kinda the character who got everyone’s powers back, the first to master the dragon ability, and had quite a bit of screen time in the first half, Sora for almost winning the elemental competition, and Arin for being the one to find the villain who sabotaged the competition. In my opinion, Kai had the most going on so I’m gonna argue that this season’s focus ninja is Kai.

I think that if we are being honest, season 4 is about Lloyd. I mean look at the scene where Lloyd dives off the bounty and flashbacks to memories with his father. Then, he came back to sacrifice his dad. Then, he burned the book of spells. He was in the main scene for the ending and it was him vs chen in the final round. So to me, season 4 was a Lloyd season

Still though Kai has never gotten a proper full on focus season and has never defeated a main villain. Also I would say fire chapter and ice chapter are both Lloyd focus. Like all that happens to Kai in the fire chapter is he loses his powers and the ice chapter tha majority of time we are following Lloyd.
Kai has full focus seasons he like S1, S4, S5, S7 and DR S2 Part 1. He just never Defeated a main villain in any of them. In S1 and S7 he was focused in the Finale episodes. For me it doesn't matter who gets the final punch it's about who has the most development in the season

@ season 1 he shared the spotlight with the rest of the ninja. The pilots he had the most screentime and was the main character but by the end of the pilots it was still a group thing. Season 4 had one storyline with him falling in love with Skylor and turning evil (briefly). Those weren’t even big focuses of the season, the rest of the season focused on the tournament, Zane, and then the last episodes of the season were Lloyd focused. Season 7 was barely a Kai season as it was a duo season with Nya. In the end of season 7 it still didn’t focus on Kai. DR S1 Part 1 was very clearly not a Kai focus season and focused more on Lloyd, Arin and Sora. It does matter that Kai has never defeated a main villain, especially since every other ninja has defeated a main villain. Even Sora has beaten a main villain and she just joined the team. Kai has been a background character for ages and even though DR season 2 Part 1 gave him a fair bit of focus, in Part 2 where we could of seen one of the coolest storyline’s in the shows history of him being trapped in the Nether space, it ended up being a side plot that was only 3 minutes long total from what I believe.
@@wazzawarrior5715Oh I understand your opinion. I think Kai's arcs get cut short like S4 after 8 episodes Kai is just There and The Finale was more about teamwork than Kai. In S5 after He Saves Lloyd in Episode 8, the Focus Shifted to Lloyd and Nya. if only Kai and Lloyd teamed up to Fight Morro on a 2v1 it would have fleshed out their dynamic. For S7 Wu is the one who defeated the Time Twins so you're right. Kai has been done dirty because of the writers back then but DR S2 P.1 has made him feel like a main character after 7 years. I hope he gets more focus soon
@ same, and now that in DR season 3 part 1 I hope he gets some more screen time again. Especially with helping Nya find Jay, it would be really cool to see Kai (someone who’s been well known to make fun of Jay for just existing) be one of the reasons why he rejoins the team (though I think that’ll mainly be Nya’s job).

The focus of season 4 was on Garmadon we learn more about his past he is the one who teaches Lloyd and the other ninja and in the end he sacrifices himself. He deserves it much more than Kai.
As for season 5 I'm more pro Nya ,but if we're looking at the evil green ninja I'd rather have Morro.

Don’t fans consider season 15/16 to be a team focused season? I mean I know it’s supposedly a Lloyd season but can also be considered a team season I mean I asked this question a lot on UA-cam and I’m surprised no one has talk to me about it before but that’s just my opinion I guess, but do some people agree with me? And also, why are you fine with people arguing with you? That doesn’t make any sense no one likes an argument lol you can also call them previously on Ninjago recaps. I’m also going to consider the 10th season to be a team focused season as well. The overlord was also a Zane Villain, because Zane defeated the overlord as the golden master so that’s Zanes villain to and I wish they had an interaction in season 15/16. I wish we could’ve seen him wanting revenge on Zane and it’s kind of a little disappointing to Lloyd was like I defeated the overlord without any Oni form remember? But what about Zane? He also defeated the overlord before does anyone remember that? why remember Lloyd’s and not Zanes? Because I think we should all remember that and it’s not really fair to Zane defeating the overlord in Ninjago the third season. I’m also excited for the last 10 episodes of Ninjago dragons rising season one on October 12 then I can’t wait for the second season and another 20 episodes in 2024. I’m excited for all of it and I can’t wait. All the ninja team are important now even Arin and Sora.

I suspect DR S3 will depict Arin and Jay as the main focus ninja. With Zane and Nya being secondary focus ninja.

I loved prime empire and skybound (jay is my favourite character) but I always hated that his powers never evolved, because let's face it, jay is pretty damn powerful, its LIGHTNING he just didnt get any really powerful moments like the others in ninjago
