Hey guys! We truly hope this video captures the experience we had at this incredible farmhouse bed and breakfast in rural Japan. Thanks to the wonderful hosts for being so incredibly kind and hospitable. We look forward to seeing them again.
TabiEats what a treat to see a way of life rapidly vanishing in rural Japan. Thank you so much for documenting that lovely couple. If you could send some information about booking a stay I will put that on my to do list in 2021.
Strange how that amazing and generous couple live on the other side of the planet, and yet seeing them it was very familiar for me.They remind me of my friend's parents. I guess its a country folk kind of thing lol
Oh my goodness can I adopt the older couple as my grandparents?! They are so adorable and sweet. They seem like a lot of fun to hang out with and they have such a lovely farm
I LOVED this episode! What a beautiful, sweet couple. They looked so welcoming, and their home was so comfortable. It’s true shinichi, when you eat food that has been grown locally or by a farmer, it tastes different. There’s love, hard work and a lot of sweat and early mornings in getting the food to the table. I was particularly fascinated by the first meal, when Satoshi took the coals out of the fire and then the fish and rice was cooked at a separate fireplace. Keep it up guys, I love these kinds of shows where you show the true Japan.
Thank you for this video. It was like a breath of clean and fresh air. You conveyed such a feeling of wholesomeness that surely is good for the mind, body and spirit. Thank you for sharing with us.
Guys, this video absolutely warmed my heart. This has to be my favorite video ever. ...one generation teaching the next, beautiful simplicity and the priceless knowledge so these things aren't lost. The recipes I have from my grandparents are so precious to me and passing them down is my pride. This couple is living how me and my husband would like to "retire". What a treasurable experience! So in love with this video lol
Another amazing experience you've shared with us. Thank you, Shinichi and Satoshi. As so many others have said, watching you cook and share food and conversation with your lovely hosts was like returning to my childhood and visiting my beloved grandparents. Pure joy.
Sugoi ne!!! That’s heaven on earth boys! The kiritanpo made from the okome grown and harvested by this beautiful couple, and that Ayu, THAT AYU-OH. MY. GOSH!! Yamauchi Obasan and Ojisan are amazing!! Thank you for sharing this awesome video! ❤️
I'm so very jealous that looked like such a wonderful experience and omg that oldder couple were just adorable and looked like the perfect hosts treating you guys like family and not just a pay check like you are in hotels and most air bnbs.
Best video ever guys!!! That's the real Japan!. It doesn't matter where you are in Japan, you always get the collective good vibes from Japanese culture. Make more of these videos please!
This is the Japan I've been wanting to see. The provances tell the real story about the region and its people.May it never lose its cultural heritage. Great video.
Wow! Which heartwarming gesture...you can’t appreciate enough of their humbleness of kindness...so much respect for their customers. This video made me cry because they gave soo much happiness to others. Why can’t we go back to live in a respectful way of kindness...with all the crimes that are senseless done to kill others,....why can’t the bad realize that life is precious. I love those couples..life for them is grateful to share
Such a wonderful idea for a holiday. It would have been such a fantastic opportunity to learn from such incredible kind people. Like staying with grandparents.
I think this is your loveliest video. I wish I lived like Mr. & Mrs. Yamauchi, with such generous love, peace and joy. The world is a better place with people such as these.
I love staying minshuku. It feels like visiting my family. But I don’t think I’ve ever stayed with the hosts who are trying to build such a close relationship with the guests! Fantastic couple! (Yes, you are, too) They sure will be busy now! Great job , all of you!
Hi Satoshi and Shinichi! I love this video! Mr. and Mrs. Yamauchi seem like such delightful people. And so multi-faceted in their talent, skills and love what they do! Real genuine people and I was so happy to see you guys connecting with them so well. Heartwarming!
That sort of dazed contented look on your faces, when you've been fed comfort food and experienced hospitality and warmth, that you helped work on yourselves. I know that feeling! How wonderful that you could find that.
What wonderful and lovely people. They really shared their hearts and home with you. That experience is better than any 5 star hotel because it replenishes your soul more than anything.
Thank you for taking me to the wholesome and wonderful country side of Japan. I admire their hospitality and humbleness so much that I wish one day I get to experience this.
I would absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE 💕 ❤️💕having this experience! OMG how fortunate. When I first went to Japan in 1995 I was able to have an amazing experience with a family in Hiroshima at their traditional family home. We had Shabu Shabu! This totally warmed my heart! Wow that was emotional for me! Thank you both for sharing this!
Tabieats videos already make me really happy when I watch them. This one, though, was something very special. The more I see of northern Japan, the more I want to make an entire trip out of exploring there. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.

Hands down the best vid on your channel! This was so heartwarming. I got totally choked up at watching how much pride the owners take in their farm, their way of living, their food, their artistry. Really loved their sweet performance. They totally went out of their way to make you both feel so at home with food and entertainment too! I was moved by their humbleness. This one really touched my heart. Thank you!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Looks like a trip to the wise grandparents in the countryside. The alcohol must have been great for Satoshi but poor Shinichi even could see you hesitating to drink after the toasts. Do this more often please. Such great hosts
Hello Shinchi and Satoshi What awesome hospitality and lovely host. Such warm friendly and kind people. I would love to stay with these people to see what it's like to stay at a Japanese farm home. Such a enjoyable video to watch. Till next time guys stay safe. Xx
How incredibly sweet they are. And how blessed they were to have you both stay there. The food looked amazing. That beer is incredible. We can only get it on one place where we live and it's the only beer I will drink :-) LOVE your videos.
I've always dreamed of cooking and eating kiritampo and fish, just as you did in this video! Your hosts in Akita were really wonderful, so kind and friendly. I hope you can return there again to see them! Thanks for this lovely video.
That was one of my favorite TabiEats videos ever! The meal itself was showtime and a production and the dancing was certainly that as well, very special! Truly awesome video fellas, thank you!

That was a very lovely video worth watching. It showed how accommodating and entertaining the hosts were, which depicts the respectfulness of the old Japanese customs and traditions.
This reminds me of my grandpa and being with family. Just a nice time, everything looked so good and since it was all locally harvested, it really makes you appreciate it all that much more. Helping make the dinner dish looked fun and add a whole experience to the meal. Thank you again for sharing another wonderful experience with all of us.
One of my favorite TabiEats videos ever! I appreciate your efforts seeking out different regional cultures and cuisines all around Japan. Thanks and keep it up!
This is the sweetest video. How fun it is to learn about food and where it comes from. It’s the best example of farm to table I have seen. What a wonderful video!
What a wonderful experience! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. My husband and I live in the center of the continental US. My father visited Japan in the 1950s as part of his US Navy service. While he was there, he purchased a traditional Japanese doll, which he gave to my mother. Years later, I would take out that doll and just look at it, and dream of what life must be like in the country where it had been made. All of these many years have passed, and I still have not visited Japan. I am very interested in rural and village life in the country of Japan. It is my dream that one day I will be able to visit. Until then, I must be satisfied with reading about it, looking at photos, and watching videos on UA-cam ;-) ありがとうございます
