I was more talking about the group as a whole getting their comeuppance and Sting was the first one to really take the NWO to task as a group. Those segments of him clearing the ring with the bat got a massive pop and it felt earned as the NWO had been running roughshod over WCW for almost 2 years at that point

I don't agree with Jim on everything but this here I agree with. I enjoyed the beat down but I was like wtf it's way toooooo early man. They should have let the pinnacle run rough shot through the company for at least a month smh 🤦

Of course they are going to trade beat downs we all see that coming. The fact of the matter is the pinnacle only had 1 match and their 2nd match is coming up at the house show. @Cee Wil okay but corny is going overboard with this. It doesn’t mean that the pinnacle is buried at all. Like Brian said a lot of people said it was good because corny is immune to change. And if he knew what was good and how to make it good why doesn’t he have a job then to change the business for the better. He does this podcast for his job, don’t take everything too seriously. But yes I believe khan should of waited a bit more than 2 weeks to do something like this and then set it up for the PPV

I literally waited for this, I have to give Jim Cornette a ROUND OF APPLAUSE and ENCORE this video. I literally had an argument over this segment defending the Pinnacle and said they stole his heat! And the argument I get back, there has to be a retaliation. Then I ask, then why couldn't MJF break away? They even took out Wardlow, the bodyguard. AEW hates Heat, The End.
They did this with the Sting and Darby vs team Taz feud too. Last two weeks before the ppv the faces got all the revenge they needed. It made the ppv street fight totally pointless
Tonk Khan doesn’t even understand the concept of heat. Being a fan doesn’t mean he knows how to book good wrestling shows.
I liked the brawl,but the TIMING WAS WRONG,it should have happened 2 months after Pinnacle has enough heat to the point they can afford to take a beat down
Anything logical in AEW is viewed as bad by their fanboys.
So Inner Circle, the group that’s getting stale, gets the ultimate win while burying the new fresh heels. I really want AEW to make it but, it’s like one step forward two steps back with them.
I said the Inner Circle got their revenge back too soon on Wrestleinc and then AEW fan boys told me that too much longer and it would be ridiculous. What the heck? 😆
They're right Inner Circle should have responded already but what should have happend is the Pinnacle stomping them again to make them look strong and let it go on for a little bit more and then have the Inner Circle get a hard fought win on them.

I also said that shoving MJF’s head in the toilet was too much. The AEW fans disagreed with me as they thought it was good for the Pinnacle to have their kamuffins this early.

They are all veterans of the sport and yet they potato and hard bleed people. I would say it's because there is no one there to be the locker room enforcer but Jericho, Kenny, The Young Bucks and Cody are the enforcers in the locker room. However, they botch all of the time. They set the standard and expect it to go higher. It doesn't.

I mean in a normal situation where one can have a full stadium you can produce a mediocre match make a profit with the tickets and build up a fan base through time.
But this is during covid and until a literal revolution occurs I'm not seeing it come back.
It was a great backstage segment, however this beatdown came WAY too early for Pinnacle. This would have been fine maybe after several weeks of build-up for Pinnacle, however they have yet to truly prove their dominance (aside from massacring the Inner Circle once). This made them come off looking weak, at least as of right now. My guess is Pinnacle retaliates next week, but we'll see how it plays out.

I am old enough to remember when the Horsemen went to the Rock & Roll Express's locker room to congratulate Ricky Morton after he scored a pinfall victory over Ric Flair. The Horseman were being good sports when they were jumped by Ricky and Robert. They had no choice--they had to defend themselves.

It's gonna be difficult to see them as any kind of threat. They lost the first real fight they got and each one suffered a massive humiliation.

Ladies and Gentlemen the booker of the year. They have two group beat downs in one show. And they rushed the inner circle coming back because he didn't want jericho off tv to long obviously. But they could of kept them off for a month. And waited for this beat down of the heels at three to four months later in a blood and guts match
When you really think about all the matches in AEW these days, you have to wonder: Why do they have a ring? Nothing is settled in there, so why bother putting up a ring anymore?
Atleast Vince McMahan was upfront about making FTR into a joke and embarassing them.

Like everything else on AEW.
In angles like this, Tony Khans inexperience really shows. And before you read further, I'm an AEW fan. I am a fan of pro wrestling in general and I dont care if it is AEW, WWE, NWA, NJPW, ROH, Impact, etc, if it's good then I can watch it. Now that that's out of the way, I can continue.
But Tony Khan. The problem here is that he is inexperienced with booking. He has great ideas and pulls some great things off, but the problem is his execution. The angles and storylines are okay, with the exception of some, eg the Womens division, best friends and Miro and kip and so on. His ideas are great, but the execution of the angles are rushed or handled weirdly.
The Inner Circle and Pinnacle fued could have been a fued of the year contender with the talent involved, but this was rushed. Pinnacle should have been dominating for a month or 2 and towards the end, have Sammy or Santana and Ortiz return alone and have the Pinnacle bully them. Then we see the Pinnacle beat them down for a couple of weeks and then the group reunites to match numbers. Then this fight could have proceeded as it did on Dynamite, with it leading to a Blood and Guts match, because you know that's what they're heading for.
You would think that Jericho or FTR would know that this is rushed and said to hold the beatdown back for awhile. It was alright for what it was, but it could have been a hell of a lot better if they gave the angle time to breathe.

A positive reaction to the faces getting revenge on free TV kind of makes sense. "Yeah! I got to see the heroes beat the heels without having to pay for it!" Having Hogan beat Andre on TV would have been stupid for business but I would have still enjoyed it as a fan.
If this Jericho's idea, let's remember that Jericho is a veteran from the previous generation. If you were someone that understood wrestling and you had a bunch of goofs that were so clueless that they would let you make them look like complete fools wouldn't you take advantage? It wouldn't be hard in such an environment to ensure that you're booked as a bigger star than everyone else.
Here’s an idea...how about this. You give it a two or three months until you see ANYONE from the Inner Circle. The Pinnacle runs roughshod over all of AEW with no stopping them in sight. Then, you bring back everyone in the Inner Circle...except Jericho. His beating he got from the Pinnacle was worse than anyone else’s so have him actually sell his injuries more (crazy idea). The Inner Circle is able to fight with the Pinnacle but every week besides a few, the Pinnacle goes over. Furthermore driving home the fact that the Inner Circle DESPERATELY need their leader back. THEN, after months of Jericho being gone, you do this backstage brawl except have him be the one behind the front door instead of Hager. This brawl itself wasn’t bad, I actually thought it was good, just way way too soon. AEW doesn’t even give us a chance to miss the guys who just got killed two weeks previously

This week it'll be a big in ring promo from the inner circle, and they'll talk a bunch of shit, and you won't see pinnacle.

It'll be a match between someone of the inner circle and possibly someone from pinnacle with a big giant fucking brawl at the end and maybe some security come to break it up, but probably not they'll just fight off.
And they'll keep doing this brawling, one-upping each other every week until the PPV. But there's no point because pinnacle just got the fucking shit beat out of them. So wouldn't they just call it even? What's the fucking point now?
MJF is not the best young heel in the business. It's Jay White's era, and we're just living in it.

I think the brawl should have happened, but later in the feud. I was thinking just building up the Pinnacle this month and whenever the pay-per-view comes, the brawl would happen then before it to gain momentum for the IC.

If this were WWE, I could maaaaaaaybe understand a long af duration for fans to wait to see any kinda revenge for a heel wrecking a face or any progress they might make (ie. HHH vs literally anyone for years while part of Evolution) but in AEW they're trying out multiple things while trying to adapt to fans during a pandemic. We all know they're gonna do things to appeal to their established fan base but they're simply too damn new to wait around for months or longer to pull the trigger on storylines and rivalries. The Inner Circle was considered unstoppable for their first year but as MJF pointed out they were being too silly, funny, goofy, and not legit bosses as heels which he took advantage of when he created the Pinnacle with Tully Blanchard. The whole segment with the Inner Circle firing back almost right away against the Pinnacle was clearly meant to shut down any momentum they were hoping to achieve at the expense of the Inner Circle, and while that might not be practical or good for the Pinnacle, it was obviously the fire lit underneath the collective arses of the Inner Circle. Let's just wait and see what becomes of this. MJF and Jericho and Tully know what they're doing with all this. Have some faith people and enjoy the madness unfolding each week hahaha

The Pinnacle group actually felt like an a real group (wrestling old schoolers with a Horsemen vibe), on the other hand I don't get why Jericho's group was ever a thing. The members didn't seem in any way an organic group and were put together to fight the Elite. I saw the segment and didn't think much of it but I have to agree with Cornette. Where the hell do you go from here, feels like that Russo idea of Taker chokeslamming Kane through a table right after Kane debutted idea.

The segment was fucking stupid but respect to Dax and Shawn Spears for basically bashing their heads into everything to try and make it look decent. Guevara's brawling looked awful but Spears hitting the walls head first almost saved it, but then you realize how big of a burial and waste of time it was.

Next the Pinnacle has got to retaliate. Would it have been better to wait a month or two before the inner circle comes back, probably, still enjoyed it though and I think the inner circle is showing how tough they are by making a come back so quickly. I think this is the start of a great long feud between the inner circle and the pineapple. Also everything Chris Jericho touches doesn't turn to shit, there's greatness wherever he goes, maybe you don't like the guy but you can't deny how great Jericho is!!
Jericho is the absolute worst veteran in the industry at this point. He is doing nothing to elevate the company, the younger talent, or anyone that he's involved with in any way/shape/form whatsoever. The only thing he's bringing up are COVID exposure rates and his belt size. He's been a hack for years, and to anyone that can't put down the Kool-Aid is completely lying to themselves.
The formation of the new group was even done wrong. Storyline wise... MJF planned to take over the Inner Circle. That was his plan. He would lead them to beat Jericho and they'd go to the back with him as the new leader. However, Jericho already knew what was going to happen so MJFs plan didn't work out. But wait... MJF actually has another group coming out to help him?!? What was the plan if MJFs Inner Circle plan had actually worked out? Was this other group of guys going to team up with them to make a super group? It just made no sense that MJF would have another group of guys waiting at the curtain while he was planning to take over the Inner Circle.
I said this too, if The Inner Circle have already kicked the shit out of The Pinnacle (most notably of course is MJF getting his comeuppance) why should we keep watching?
