How to hit a driver as a senior golf swing to hit longer drives with less effort. Sounds good right?
you're getting older and your swing is getting slower. But don't worry, there is still hope! In this video, I'm going to show you how to hit the ball longer as you get older.
The Easiest Pitching Technique For Senior Golfers • What Nobody Tells You ...
Senior golfers, you'll want to watch this video! By following the tips in this video, you can help increase your distance and accuracy on the golf course. By hitting the ball longer, you'll reduce your scores and have a more fun experience on the green!
Alex Fortey from the Art of Simple Golf teaches you a Simple golf swing with the driver and three instruction components that you can apply today to add 10 to 30 more yards to every single drive.. so maybe yes.. this is the best driver swing for seniors.
We want a golf swing that has effortless power and that is easy on the body to swing pain free and an easy golf swing is more consistent and will help you hit the golf ball father even if you have slow swing speed because you will hit the center of the face more often.
One of the keys is to make a big turn without resistance and Harvey Penick, of the best golf instructors ever use this method of tempo and timing to transition with the driver onto shallow the driver for the angle of attack
So even if you are a senior golfer and you want to move speed with the senior golf swing and to hit the driver longer.
If you would like to see another simple golf swing driver lesson to give you more distance then follow this you may not be Dustin Johnson or getting to the speed and power and rotation he does but that does not mean we cannot get some extra distance with the driver without having to force the golf swing.
    Here's the link to another golf downswing lesson to give you more power and consistency that is mentioned in the video;

ABOUT ALEX AND THE ART OF SIMPLE GOLF
    -----------------------
Golf wins in the complication department. No other sport boasts the amount of gadgets, swing fixes, variations of balls, clubs, tees, courses, not to mention weather!, however, it is not as difficult as you have been led to believe.
Or at the very least as complicated and frustrating as the golf industry has you made you you think.
The Art of Simple Golf was born when confusion overruled the joy of golf.

Alex, it is late on a Saturday night. I am a 74 year old male who has some back issues and struggles to get swing speeds with my nine iron above 65mph. This afternoon I was talking to my friend, a PGA Master Professional, about my lack of swing speed. He knows my swing very well and told me, again, I was losing leverage during the down swing, mostly in my wrist set. He told me before about flaring out my back toe which didn't help that much. I watched your presentation here and heard the technique of pulling the back leg back a little to give oneself more clearance. I jumped up and went to my little "indoor range", set up my swing radar and started practicing the swing with those adjustments. The very first thing I noticed was a definite improvement in the the swoosh sound being more in front of the ball and much more distinctive. After about 10 practice swings I turned on the radar. Swing speed jumped 10-15 mph with about 20% less effort(it got to 83 twice)! That made me very happy. Of course it didn't happen on every swing but the more I practiced the technique the more often it happened. Now, I have to take it to an outdoor range and see what the real results are, but I am very optimistic I will like the new yardage and hope it will carryover to my other clubs. Thank you. And, yes, I will mention the back foot back factor to my pro.

This is very nice to hear. More speed - less feeling of forced effort. Wonderful!
Keep going and yes indeed, use things that work for you and don’t always apply what you are told. Results and feelings are yours

A follow up report. I went to the range today eager to put the technique to a real test with full swings and real golf balls and real flight patterns. I am happy to report there was an improvement however inconsistent...it is new you know. I still had a tendency to hold on to the club through the impact zone resulting in pushes. I don't feel like I am releasing the club as well as I did last night at the indoor range with electronic numbers. I will say, happily, when I did strike the ball properly, I was one to one and half clubs longer. So, there is hope. The trick is practicing. The old saying "Practice makes perfect" is a lie. Practice makes permanent...perfect practice makes perfect.

I think this is probably temporary. the key is how you allowed the club to stop and stay in the same position in the backswing because you felt less stress, due to a larger hip turn. key on that!

Hi Alex, I am 67 years old from Malaysia. I watched your video for the first time today and that's after watching many many other guys out there over many months. You are the only person out there who mentioned about brushing the golf ball like it's done in tennis. Made a whole lot of logic. Can't wait to go out to the range and try it as I have always been smacking the ball flush with no distance.

Alex! I like the right foot flared, right leg back on the backswing to gain more width. Also like the idea of allowing gravity take over on the downswing and letting the club do what it is designed to do without our manipulating it. Excellent video for the "experienced golfer."

Very detailed and simple explanations like your video on coiling rather than turning. Coil is a word that suggests power better than turn. In addition I love your explanation of the split hands drill because it slows the arms up and allows the body and arms to synch, extend and the wrists to unhinge naturally. Just like the name of your series, it's the art of simplicity. These two videos are the best you've ever made. Please make many more!

Best instructor on You tube by miles Alex! Your explanations on ALL your blogs are easy to try out as you keep it simple and to the point! I - even at 70 years of age have always tried to hit the wee ball 300 yards off the tee and am sure many at my age have tried this throughout their golfing years! This past week I have created a shorter backswing with no white knuckles showing and just insuring I swing with the hips first towards my intended target with arms and torso following behind! We old guy's never had video tuition in our day's, so we are late learners in Finding a rare nugget like you who has taken and given thought for us old yins! I take my hat off to you Sir! I just discovered AOSG and really like what you've been saying. I'm an 80 y/o golfer who shoots anywhere between 79 to 99 (this season) on any given day. I'm still trying to regain some of my lost distance and tend to swing too hard and get the inconsistent results that you spoke of. This swing tip is so simple and I can't wait to try it in the backyard, the range, and on the course. Thanks for a great video - not too complicated but good simple advice.

Alex, I definitely fall under the category of rushing the downswing. It seems that my mind tells me "OK, you're at the top of the backswing so let it rip". I feel that this is the only way to increase my club head speed. A day or two after watching this video I decided to go to a heated outdoor range (it's January and I live in Wisconsin so it's quite cold) and just work on flow and smoothness in my swing while trying very hard to control that top of the backswing anxiety. I was surprised that my driving distance actually increased on average by 16 yards. The swing felt so effortless and I could actually feel the weight and mass of the driver head as I released the club. Incidentally, my swing speed went up about 3 mph. Thanks for the great lesson, it really does work quite well when I control my anxiety to want to mash the ball from the top down. I have to convince myself that the swing is a sequence in it's entirety rather than just from the top down, this was the key discovery for me. Smooth is fast. Thanks again!

Thanks, I gave your tips a try and hit
“ straighter and with good distance”. At 65 ,my mind wanted to muscle the shots.
The 10 o’clock take back was more than enough to get a 225 - 250 yd drive. Trusting the weight of the club proves to be the key to better golf, for me. Great video, thanks!🏌🏻‍♂️🎯

Very nice. I like that you mention Harvey Penick….my favourite! Your instruction is worth trying. At 62 I’m getting a bit stiff. I have achieved better swing speeds slightly differently. I allow my hips to turn a little more by letting my left foot come off the ground so that I can get behind the ball. This has given me phenomenal results with my woods….I use a 3 wood to a 13 wood 😂. But I’m still trying to hit to hard with my driver with sometimes poor results. Let me try your method. Thanks Alex.

Just found this site. Very impressed with your method. I have optishot in my house like yours so off to try this now. I excepted the fact that at 71 I have lost distance but with a smother swing like you have maybe it will help with the aches and pains after 18 holes. Thank you and looking forward to more senior lessons from you
