Let's GOOOOO!!!!! We are so stoked and proud to present part 1 of our Pacific crossing series.
Even after all the years and all the miles, crossing the Pacific is such a HUGE milestone. It had been years since we did a big ocean passage...Delos crossed the Atlantic without us while we were in Sweden welcoming Sierra into the world, but our last big sail was Africa to Brazil, which feels like a life time ago! We had forgotten what it felt like to spend weeks at sea, to lose sight of land, familiarity, and civilization...To lose track of time and daily obligations in such a monumental way, and become hyper focused on the present and living in such a beautiful and simple routine.
After months of preparation, we finally pull the hook and depart on our journey of nearly 3,000 nautical miles across the world's largest ocean. Within just 4 miles of leaving we face our first curveball of the trip as our normally trusty engine starts playing tricks on us. But Delos is a sailboat, and that's what we were gonna do! So we press onwards and meet some pretty epic conditions, catch a monster fish, mingle with some curious dolphins, and soak up our last sight of land for weeks.
We hope you enjoy coming along on this big adventure with us.

I think one of the best investments I made was to learn english, without it I wouldn't be able to watch those videos and understand what you guys are saying, I don't know anything about sailing boats but your videos make my day better, keep it up 🇧🇷🇧🇷
🇧🇷
Your comments just made my day better!
This might be the best thing I see today! Good on you Paulo!
Wow good for you! English is such a crazy nonsensical language, it must be a nightmare to learn it.
I learned English for work, watch this channel as they live my dream ( sometimes nightmares) but they have to do adds to do it and I understand but it’s not the dream just the reality of the world.
I'm a long term viewer, but, appreciated the effort to re-introduce the boat, the crew, the passage & a reminder that it's been going on for a bit, so if you want to catch other videos- you can. What a healthy, clean living (mostly!!!), honest view of life at sea with courtesy, helpfulness & a good sense of humor being enough to keep emotions modest & behavior appropriate (mostly!!!). Much love & respect.
thanks so much for your kid words Davd- sending our best fromthe Pacific!
Sailing a large luxury yacht and the harsh demand of a weekly UA-cam channel is one of the worth carbon footprint someone can think of.
Your home is ten tons of the worth synthetic resin, a toxic, carcinogenic, non degradable fossil oil byproduct, so are your sails and most everything around you.
You are not off -grid you are connected 24/7 through micro wave emission , satellite communication , GPS , AIS ,VHF etc totally dependent on a world wide grid
and all this powered by your highly toxic batteries and solar panels .As a YTworld sailor one may be seen inhaling the fresh ocean breeze but they are among the worth polluters.
@@jiefflerenard1228 I really hope you didn't write this on a phone or laptop with a toxic battery providing you 24/7 connectivity and really, really hope you don't utilize a fossil fuel burning, carbon emission producing vehicle (or worse, a toxic, non-recyclable battery powered vehicle charged by fossile fuel burning, carbon producing power plants or non-recyclebale solar or wind power sources) for transportation or to bring you the necessities of life. That would be hypocritical.
@@jiefflerenard1228 you must be fun at parties 👎
@@jiefflerenard1228 you may want to re-think some of those claims, and your grasp of English kiddo. Also its not a large luxury yacht, it's a basic sailing ketch. So I suggest you take your ignorance and go keel haul yourself.
There is nothing in this world that brings more joy to a parent's soul than to hear the laughter of their children! Especially when core memories are being created!😊 Safe travels!
Just wanted to say thank you. Broken bones kept me out of work, but from Senor Brady years ago to nuggets my bones feel irrelevant. Thank you❤❤❤
I haven been to the Islands in 63 yrs. Home sick already. Beautiful & Wonderful. Thanks for taking me along.😇😘❤❤
Friday morning coffee? Check. New Delos vid to delve into? Check. All is well, happy sailing folks!
I love it when you go fishing. Nothing beats the taste of fresh fish especially when you catch it yourself.
Sierra is PUMPED about those dolphins!!!! I needed that kind of energy this morning!!! 🐬🐬🐬
I can’t watch your videos without it drumming up every emotion I have. That’s what keeps me coming back. Have fun.
Oh wow little Sierra is a STAR!!! So cute! I remember when my girl was that age, it goes so fast!!
Most relaxing videos I watch on UA-cam. Put it on full screen, sit back with my feet up, have my coffee, and sail across the ocean with you. Thanks so much.
I usually don’t comment if I don’t have anything nice to say, I tried AG1 for a year , it’s not bad but I haven’t noticed any difference until like 5 month in drinking it daily, but the difference was noticeable but not significant, but my only complaint was the taste , after 8month I was gaging on it, the first 2 weeks I couldn’t drink it as it is and I had to add juice to it I found best flavor suited me is adding it to peanut butter smoothie (almond milk peanut butter and banana ) .
But after few month I got sick of the flavor again so I used it with Mango lassie then berry lassie and rotate .
My wife say possible the change and energy is from the healthy smoothies not AG .
Any way I stopped it now because I couldn’t tolerate its flavor, my wife couldn’t smell it, but some of my friends loves it .
It’s opinion
Sierra du er den heldigste jente i verden å vokse opp på en seilbåt med kjempe kjekt foreldre. You are the luckyest girl in the world to grow up on a sail boat with so great parents
We agree with your decision to just go in spite of the engine problem. That’s been our policy for over 10 years and we have never regretted it. It’s always more fun to fix the problems while you are cruising!
Cut the gills and bleed then cool it down before filleting --- makes a big difference! We like seeing the catch and cook
Brought such joy hearing your daughter laughing when she saw the dolphins- such a beautiful sound!
What a great way to start my weekend, get home from work, get the dogs business taken care of and settle them back down. Then it's time for the Friday installment of SV Delos, and as luck would have it, the clock struck 4:20 before it ended! Stoked for these Pacific passage videos, also very excited to see Sierra's reaction to some of the tribal people she might meet in the French Polynesian Islands, she's getting more verbal every day now and understanding more of what you tell her. She's so lucky to be experiencing new cultures, so many questions, mom and dad are gonna need to be on their toes... lol
Imagine growing up and one of your childhood memories is watching a massive pod of dolphins swim along your bow, truly amazing
We love you guys! Great new intro, but we still love and miss "Ramukanji." We'll see you out there sailing. Namaste.
Breading and frying up the jack was probably one of the best ways to prepare it. It can be pretty strong tasting to some compared to a white fish. Thanks for taking us along 🍻
I sure enjoy watching but I have not one second of doubt that I am a true landlubber and enjoyer of quiet and calm.
Wendy and I were coming in from a day sail on our 33 Westsail when we saw SV Delos going out of the harbor one day. I regret not turning around and sailing beside them as they motored down the channel. No regrets and bon voyage SV Delos!
i cant count the amount of times i have watched cpt ron, such a good movie
I have been following you for a long time with enjoyment. A truly magical home with a smiling and cheerful family with a golden little Angel, you are a mirror of the endless nature of the sea and you are walking in sincere freedom of your spirit and body. ~ A big sincere greeting from Republica Macedonia (Europe)~
hi there! safe travveling first!, all these jacks needs first to remove their blood, i clean cut in the tails on in the head usually and keep them in the water for 10 minutes, after that they are soooo nice to eat sushi or any other recipe :) safe travveling guys!
Yes! So excited for Kazza to close her loop! Fair winds!
True to your word, the rash guard shirts are AWESOME. Along with extra perks at the marina when I wear it from your fans, thanks for inspiring all of us! SV Antares
Sierra teaching life lessons. No matter what happens, just put your arms in the air and say "Whoo-Hoo"!
I get that same exciting vibe from all the early days, even with the cheat code of having such experienced hands on crew. It's what I loved most about the channel and still do; The excitement of being out on the open ocean with a real challenge ahead and land a dream of yesterday.
Hi people. I'm fairly sure that was a Giant Trevalli. But can I give you a big tip. With all pelagic fish you need to bleed them straight away. You can assist the removal of the blood by stripping it by running your fingers down the backbone while the fish is hanging. The meat won;t be as red and it won't taste metalic.
After filleting rest the meat in the fridge before cooking. It will relax the meat and it will be more tender. Pelagic fish are warm blooded & that's why you process them this way. Happy Fishing people.
This has been the best video you have posted in months, how well reflected is life on board and what faces of happiness and illusion you have. Nothing gets in your way, long live the silicone multipurpose tape!
Sierra on the bike at the end. She is one cool salty sailor.
Yah. We're off. Safe travels and goods winds.
A super cool video, I've had SV Delos stickers on my mini cooper for at least 10 years. Thank you so much! Nice people!
Crazy high production values, whoever is doing the audio is outstanding too.
There is no nicer sound than a child's laughter.
The dolphin giggles 🥹 Cuteness overload for sure!
Great Job on the start! Fair Winds and Following Seas Delos Crew! Stay safe and enjoy the journey!!! Loved the response from you Brian when asked about turning around. "This is a sailboat!" The engine is an auxiliary! "I got tape"..... Priceless! Brians got this!!!! Stay safe my friends!
I didn’t watch you for a while and coming back to see you are still at sea, happy, full of energy and positive vibe. Continue like that, you make us smile, you fill your viewer with love. Wish you the best.
Nice that Captain Breeeyawn keeps spare parts. ... I'm less worried about you all. .... WOW!!! ... That dolphin video was great! .... Kasa looking like a Viking in that hoodie
The best vibe of any channel I watch. Thanks!
Thanks so much Valerie, glad you're enjoying the vids :)
Yall have the best life!! I would love to live like that. Happy sailing! Seeing yall are excellent cooks - write a sailing cookbook with all the how toos.
Hello Delos crew from Alberta Canada. Of all the boats crossing the mighty Pacific you are number 1 of 4 I would be totally confident signing up with. The fact that you are experienced enough to take on additional crew is just 1 example of hundreds of decisions contributing towards a successful crossing. Have fun, sail safe and Ill be following your progress.
Best of luck Brian , family and crew on your journey across the Pacific. I will be with you all in Spirit!
I watch you for ever, but I cannot believe you did not change the hoses on this passage, that being said, fare win’s guys ❤
One thing I love about this channel. It's more familly orientened and not a constant booty call. You also...... Sail.
A mechanic for many years, I would never go on vacation ON LAND with hoses that look like that! Why haven't you REPLACED (not fix with tape) those old hoses. Hoses are prone to catastrophic failure that TAPE won't fix. You shouldn't have turned around, you should have REPLACED ALL THE HOSES before you left.
This gives new meaning to "road trip"!
Love the Captain Ron jokes!!!
That movie, more than any other, made me want a sail boat.
long time fan and its maybe my 3rd time STARTED AGAIN from the begining already up to no 78 lol its GOOD STUFF GUYS STAY SAFE FROM FRANCE XXX
Woo Hoo! 19 days and you all seem to be sane. I wish I was on that boat with you.
I have watched your channel for years, and this is the best crew ever. Love what you guys do.
Wow, thank you!
Thank you guys so much for sharing your experiences with us. I have laughed and cried watching your videos. Thank you for everything you guys do.
That moment where Sierra kissed her momma on the nose melted my heart!
Fish looked like a horse eye jack.... Thank for the video. Thanks for sharing!!
Ive been having a really hard time lately but your videos and disposition have helped tremendously. Thank you for 13 years of wonderful content and sharing your love with the world.
Thank you so much for your videos!! I have been watching you over the last few years while working with NGOs in Sudan, Ethiopia and now Iraq. You are part of my weekly routine and traveling with you is just a beautiful gift. Send you a huge hug and a million thanks.
Awesome video! I love Brian's thinking we don't need no stinking motor we're in a sailboat!! Carry-on and sail away fix the motor another day. That would be me😂
You are the happiest people on earth, keep up the good vide during the passage !
Sierra, the most loved child on the internet.. So cute...
That fish was a large eye or horse eye jack fish. Not good table fair at all!!! But I bet yall have figured that out by now haha. You were in the right spot for some Mahi or some wahoo action to start up.
I don't remember when I first started watching your adventures, but I know it was well before Brady talked about making the 100th episode and now you're over 400 and crossing the Pacific again. You're living my dream for me.
doing this trip with a toddler on board is absolutely amazing... anything is possible!! So looking forward to watching these passage videos, you guys are awesome.
Watch the video from a family of 5 that just got de-masted crossing the Pacific. The youngest was an infant still breast feeding. The wife and 3 young children were rescued by a freighter. The dad was able to get back to Mexico with the help of dozens of sailors that brought him fuel, food, support.
He was 900 miles off the Coast when they hit bad weather and his mast was destroyed.
@@dennispatrick4999 I'm not sure what your point is. I said it was amazing to have the ability, planning and resources to be able to safely include a toddler on a Pacific crossing. Are you trying to say because another family had problems (even though they all survived), it's somehow a bad thing?
@@matteframe Actually the opposite. It's being done by multiple sailors with their kids.
There are hazards and setbacks.
I watched this video. The boat had been rerigged by the prior owner who was an engineer, hence the reason the mast broke. The father of five appeared to be very seaworthy. Moral of that story is don't buy a boat from an engineer who rerigs the boat. Nothing to do with anything else. Suspend all judgements please.
I have anxiety just watching your daughter and thinking how stir crazy my kids would be. You guys are so brave and patient. Good luck!
lucky happy people. thanks for sharing your joy, we could use more of that around here
Your videos never cease to make me smile.
The dolphins were amazing and such a great sign✌️💜
That iPod Mini for Sierra is amazing. What a throwback device.
More Fixin‘s than fish you guys make me happy thank you
Its Saturday night, I'm settling in for a binge session of your Trans-Pac passage. ❤
Love the Intro Captain Brian, You Guys are so Lucky, Safe Travels and Passage. Always Watching in Florida and waiting for the Next Upload.
FAIR WINDS SV.DELOS .
ALL THE WAY ON BOARD ..
DROP LINES ,GOD BLESS YOU ALL..
That Pippi Longstocking case is so rad!
That never gets old when the dolphins show up
Sierra so radiant and beautiful. I really enjoy watching her grows. You guys are the best!
Thank you so much!
Recognized the Captain Ron quote right away... if anythings gonna happen its gonna happen out there!
Two of the luckiest guys in the whole, wide World to be with 3 Beautiful Ladies on the South Pacific!
Delos Crew! You are crushing it with these vids! So fun to follow this crossing! Cheers!!!! 🍻
Thanks a ton!
Trying that Jack raw was brave. Great job at filleting! Jack's are best slow smoked and the made into a dip with lot's of onion/garlic/chives/cream cheese/sour cream and anything else you can use to cut the strong taste. I'm so surprised that Kazza made a palatable meal breading and deep frying it. Makes me think a little different about Jack's.
Sierra looked like a crazed Pirate as the fish was being reeled in, too cute
Great job finding and fixing that coolant leak. Landing and eating that fish is probably the first of many such enterprises you will do this trip but watching Sierra's excitement just makes it better. Looking forward to the rest of the passage.
I loved the history story at the beginning. I was shocked that 69 souls have served aboard Delos. I recall losing your auto-pilot at the beginning of your Atlantic crossing and decided to cross anyway. Did it the old fashion way. What's a little radiator hose leak compared to that. Good to have a roll of magic tape.
I have used that "magic" tape or "rescue" tape before. works great except in high pressure applications. Love the stuff. Works great for adding grip to handles also.
"I got tape" is just a classic line.
Delos back at sea and once again the world is spinning in greased grooves 😊👍
Thanks guys!
What an amazing crew! Sierra is going to entertain you all - she is an amazing little person……
another classic sailing vlog - thank you
Fair Winds, Safe and Happy Travels!
Sierra has really grown. It seems like just a few months ago I watched Brian freaking out while trying to get out of that parking garage to get y'all to the hospital for her birth, and now she's talking! She's got so much energy.
Im glad the Jack fish turned out okay. It looked like a Jack Crevelle which I fought one day for an hour and ended up making Dogfood out of it! Lol
Y'all have a great, safe trip.
Sean
Yall are the greatest. Take care and be safe at all times, but have a blast!
Peace. Sean
We've just gotten started and the mantra for the day will be Have tape will travel!
Sierra is growing up so fast.
Conner is a good addition, he is good with camera work and shows his personality well
Captain Ron is one of my favorite movies ever. One of the reasons I love your channel so much! Thanks for reminding me to watch it later :p
Captain Ron is a MASTERPIECE 😁
Love the "Captain Ron" reference at the start! Had me laughing!! Cheers.
Hey Brain. So many years ago I remember finding your channel as you began sailing around the coast of northern Australia. I went back and watched the start of your adventures with your first crossing of the Pacific and became hooked watching your videos for years. It's so crazy to see you doing it once again. Congratulations and I wish you guys the best.
i dont know what it is but Delos and the channel has a whole different vibe when at sea. Peaceful, Rhythmic..
We feel it too, something so magical and special about being on passage, glad it comes across in the videos :)
if you have a ice cream scoop. next time you get a fish. after you made the filets. take the scoop and scrap the meat off the ribs etc. then you take that and make fish patties with it. like a crab pappy or salmon patty. Doing this trip with Sierra isn't a big deal. It's all she knows. she's content she has her bedroom and toys. she has the best of both worlds (land and sea)
Have to say I look forward to the weekly videos. Beautiful family and we are constantly introduced to great crew members. Love the adventures!
Awesome! Thank you!
This sail is the dream of my life, I would love to make that crossing.
I always look forward to your weekly episodes and I’ve been following for a few years now. I never thought of you all as actors until I watched you enjoy some fried Jack. 😊
