I am pretty psyched about the introduction of oat milk chocolate. Its nice to have an alternative to dark chocolate.
I've tried it in Canada a few months ago, it was awesome!
It felt too sweet to me but maybe the dark chocolate has changed my taste buds lol.
sounds gross
@@doginabox9621 lol yeah dark chocolate has changed my taste buds now, vegan milk chocolates taste weird to me
@@MdoubleHBget tf off of here and leave people alone. Cooked food is good for you… bye.
My theory on the Vegan vs Oat milk marketing. Alt milks (esp oat milk) are pretty popular in the US and it seems like a lot of companies are offering it to jump on the hype train. So, I think they're cashing in on the OAT MILK buzzword and they might also think vegan is too polarizing for a general audience. "Vegan? It's probably gross, let me just get the regular." vs "Oat milk? I love that in my coffee, let me try"
Have you always been so adept at moderating delicious hyperprocessed foods? Whenever I buy chocolate I eat the whole thing immediately; similarly for candy, chips, etc. I just can't have them in the house.
it's so fun to see european stuff getting to the US.. LOVE the vegan katjes and lindt treats 🤤🤤 lindt also has a cookie and a popcorn flavor
I live in Montreal, Canada and I absolutely love those vegan lindt salted caramel chocolate bars! Had 2 for the price of one in my last groceries :D I do think it's very similar to milk chocolate though! It just doesn't have the additional funky dairy signature taste that's typical of US chocolate but imo it does have the sweetness and taste I associate with milk chocolate. Had no clue it didn't state Vegan in the US though that's weird lol
Oh, happy to see Katjes made it to the US! I live in Germany (where Katjes comes from) and absolutely love them, the texture and flavours are so so good. In her we get many bag varieties and whenever I see a new one I get so excited. This just released the vegan advent calendar and I am looking forward to it!
Unfortunately they also make vegetarian candy so I always need to make sure what the label says since the symbols are so similar.
Omg the Lindt chocolate you get in Germany! They have (differently shaped) bars with salted caramel, cookie, sweet n salty popcorn and roasted salty almond flavours. All of them are SO good.
Germany in general has an abundance of vegan candy, the Katjes selection is incredible (the whole company is vegetarian but a lot is vegan). I recently went to visit Germany and half my suitcase going home was packed with Lindt and Katjes and other vegan treats lol
Katja is indeed freaking delicious. I love the pigs. Don't know if they are vegan. Love em tho. Am vegatarian anyways
Am not German but if you need something I can probably send shit to you if you pay. Am from the Netherlands. We have katja and some Lindt chocolate
@@dutchik5107 that's very nice of you but I'm German myself, I just live overseas but my family is still in Germany so I got my sources if I need anything 😉 I actually once made an order on the Katjes website and had it sent to my sister so she forwarded it to me 😄
I bought several of the Lindt oat milk chocolate bars, and discovered they were heat damaged and discolored when I brought them home. Rather than throw them out, I tempered the chocolate in the microwave, and added whole pecans to make into chocolate nut patties. They were delicious! Wish I could share a photo here, but it doesn't seem to be an option.
Oh my gosh so happy about the Lindt chocolate. My non-vegan mom’s favorite treat ever is the Lindt truffles. Hopefully she’ll like the oat-milk bar 🙏
I always find it so fascinating when you find stuff that we have in Europe - it helps me understand your taste better! The Katjes gummys are awesome, we have a ton of different flavours here. Also, we have "Hello Lindt", which is a brand of Lindt that does "special" flavours, and they have a few vegan ones that are just to die for! Salted Caramel, Popcorn , Nougat and Cookies and Cream are the flavours... I hope you get them too!
Great video! Many of Lindt's dark chocolates are also accidentally vegan and a lot less sweet than their vegan line 🙂 For Canadians, PC brand cheese puffs and jalapeno cheese puffs are to die for 🙂
I can’t get down with oat milk anything, especially chocolate, BUT I love the representation and availability of new vegan items!!! Thanks for sharing ✨☀️🧡🔆
Omg I love the Siete wedding cookies, they are literally addictive! Also Katjie's gummies are so good they're dangerous, I literally can't have them in my house or I'll eat the whole bag at once
Lindt hast lots of different vegan flavours in Germany. Five of the Lindt Hello brand are vegan now. My favourite is the Popcorn one. So delicious. Best vegan chocolate so far in my opinion. Katjes is in the process of veganising all their stuff, as far as I know. By the way it is pronounced "cut-yes". At least thats how we pronounce it in Germany :) I love the sour gummies, too. :)
OMG yes! German here too, I love the Hello stuff, it is the best chocolate hands down. Katjes is delicccccc too. We have some pretty good stuff here, I often forget that when I get jealous of the great vegan stuff that the US seems to have haha
The Lindt chocolate is so good and I had no idea the hazelnut one is not in America but I can confirm it is very good. I also like the iChoc hazelnut bar that’s also vegan!
@MdoubleHB you did read my comment right? I’m not the one to try your agenda on. Junk food for life!
I love the gardien breakfast links so much! The nuggets are okay, but compared to the beyond meat nuggets, they lack something in flavour (maybe it's seasoned better)? I love all these options that would not have been around years ago. I'm always excited to see new items at the grocery store 😄
I love your oranges 🍊🍊
I love Katjes! Here they have a liquorice-banana combo too, which I would usually hate, but in the gummy it's really good.
It's great to see european products making it over therr but can it please work the other way too? I would love to try some of these 😅
idk if you have an Aldi in the US but I picked up some Kevin The Carrot vegan gummies today (plain packet & a sour packet) and I love how soft they are omg!!
usually vegan gummy sweets are too hard for my liking but the Kevin The Carrot ones are perfectly soft, also the sour ones are actually quite sour and the sour flavour lasts a long time which is also a plus 😁💚
Edit: also they actually have a lovely strong taste of actual fruit which is rare in sweets for some reason
We have Aldi in the US. :). I love quite a few of their things
When you mentioned your mom and sister… I forgot you’re not a true walking chemical experiment 🤣🤣🤣
Hey Swayze! I was thinking that it would be very interesting if you did a video talking in depth about the philosophical arguments/movements related to veganism (effective altruism, consequentialism, etc)
Yay for gummy recommendation!! Squish no longer ships to the US. They do through some sellers but they don’t have everything 😞
I really like the Harvest Snaps version of Funyuns. They were on clearance so I'm not sure if they've been discontinued or if they were just updating the packaging.
Went to Trader Joes this weekend and our TJs doesn't have as many vegan options where I'm at and I was disappointed with almost everything I got. Oatmilk choc bars were waxy/hard, the oat ice cream sandwiches tasted like Playdo, the Boursin dairy free cheese...oh no! so I probably won't go for another 3 years! The kimchi and tofu are fine but I can get those at Kroger or Walmart.
That chocolate is AMAZING! Seriously so good. I liked the hazelnut and regular one.
$5 each bar though. 😬 (here in 🇨🇦anyhow)
I know I paid like 8 dollars when I first found them at Rexall and felt really guilty lol but other stores sell them for under 5, which I think is more what it should be
I made homemade fudgesicles with those Mexican Wedding cookies broken up in them..highly recommend!🔥🙌🤤
Love that shirt/color on you!!
have you tried the beyond chicken tenders? (not the nuggets) so good!
You should try shen Xiang zhen hot green peas! They’re dehydrated peas with an amazing flavor. I usually find them at my local grocery store but they’re also on Amazon.
It’s Very hard to find some good melty vegan milkchocolate, I’m curious though. Can’t wait to try it here in France. If you’re looking for a good milkchocolate, Vego’s hazelnut chocolate is melty, sweet and so good! Also Rapunzel’s vegan praliné chocolate is amazing but unsure if it’s available in the Us.
I already commented but the Mexican wedding cookies, me and my sister called them rum dough balls lol, are one of my favs too. My mom also made them when I was growing up around Christmas and my aunt made them this year for us. I think your right that those are something you gotta eat fresh.
Not gonna lie though I love sweet potato fries (specifically the tots) and like them more than regular fries. This bar I go to with my grandmother has the best ones I’ve ever had and they are covered in cinnamon sugar and SO good.
💫vinegar and ass💫 made me laugh so hard
Fiery Hot Peatos are my favorite. The only thing they are missing is the lime flavor from flamin hot limon cheetos, but they do have a nice citric acid touch to them that slightly makes up the difference.
Love these new product videos!
The hazelnut oat milk bar is really good, highly, highly recommend it!
Hidden Valley released "plant powered" vegan ranch, would love to see you try it!
I LOVE the Field Roast mini corn dogs, made in an air fryer!!
They're delicious! Such a great appetizer too. And so good with different mustards ☺️
interesting review of the Lindt choc! In germany we already have many vegan Lindt chocolate types, with different fillings and also plain. But to me and my omni family + partner the chocolate tastes just like intense high quality rich ("normal") chocolate, not much like oat or even like white chocolate at all! maybe they change the recipe for the USA? Anyway Lindt is my absolute FAV vegan chocolate
I tried the Lindt oat milk chocolate a while ago and I wasn’t so keen on it- happy to stick with Aldi dark chocolate. Same with whittakers oat milk choc we have here in Australia/NZ. I don’t find them sweet enough. If I want a proper “milk” chocolate I get a Vego bar (or Kresho bar but have to order these online)- so sugary and so good!
It is interesting that as a Dutch person I've never seen katjes in our supermarkets 😅 we've a brand called Katja (different packaging), so maybe derived from that hahaha. Also I hope you'll like rosemary in the future again, because it's so good! 🤤
It's the same! For some reason it's called Katja in the NL but Katjes in the rest of Europe 🤔
Have you had trader Joe’s Scandinavian swimmers?? Sooooooo good
I'm a vegetarian but I love those Lindt oat bars. I prefer them over the regular ones.
I haven't had the Buffalo, but the Bitchin Chipotle sauce is incredible!
Woohoo, a new video from Swayze 🥰
Ooo, I didn't know Morningstar had finally veganized their hot dogs. They've always made the vegetarian ones and continued with the vegetarian recipe even after they veganized their corndogs. I really liked the vegetarian MS ones so I hope they didn't change too much.
Walgreens carries the Katjes gummies as well! =)
I was skeptical about the Katjes gummies since they were being pushed in my algorithm by pretty young influencers which is not my style like at all. I'm very glad I bought em. Definitely the new standard for vegan gummies imo.
Great vibes 🎉
Katjes ❤! they got a huge assortment of vegan gummies here in germany, and they are so good 🤤! so much better than the gooey gunk made by Haribo.
but the ones you have look huge.
Before this video started I got an ad for hippopotamus, a barbecue restaurant chain, with long close-ups on a meat steak. I need good vegan news after this.
The Lindt chocolate tastes exactly like milk chocolate to me! Unfortunately I don't like milk chocolate.
oh amazing that you can get katjes. it's from germany and they have amazing stuff.
Im Dutch. I have never seen Katjes. I do know katja. Which is vegatarian and some vegan (now wasn't as a child. This means the pig faces don't contain gelatin. They are better now so soft. Remember when they changed it.)
It is the same vibe. Katja only has one non vegan candy, because that's a yoghurt gummy (it is delicious.)
Edit: I looked it up. According to Dutch Wikipedia it used to be the same company. Started here, started producing in Germany. Company split. Were brothers. Both started the transition to vegatarian and vegan in like 2006 (changing your entire catalogue takes time. Especially since they have always sold really well.)
The name Katjes is Dutch. Apparently they started with the classic licorice shape that's a tiny cat. Pretty hard licorice.
Katja doesn't mean anything in Dutch, its just a German girls name.
So makes sense their vibes and possibly products are similar. Not really direct competition as they are in different markets. Maybe their r&d works together sometimes. Or maybe Wikipedia didn't say that one owns the other. Probably the Dutch one owned by the German one
That’s interesting you didn’t like the Gardein sausage Patties! They are like the only thing g I eat in the mornings as a protein. I think they are so spot on. Equivalent to my taste buds to the beyond ones. Am I the only one?
If you can get your hands on them, you should try Katjes Sour Bands - those are actually sour😁
Covid redid all of my tastebuds so it's been "fun" to explore what I now hate that I used to love. Sometimes forcing myself to eat it helps and other times it does nothing. Thank goodness for mock meats because they're coming in clutch right now.
Trader Joe's has some really good, actually sour jelly beans that I really like. No gelatin, they might have bees wax or shellac though. I didn't check and already ate them all
Gardein has a lot of great mock meats one of my favorites are the Fish sticks 🍤
I finally tried nugo bars and they are so good. 10/10. Best protein bar I've tried.
I live in Germany and we have a Lindt Vegan Oat milk hazelnut bar, and I did not like it one bit. I LOVE lindt products but this one did not hit.
Try Trader Joe's buffalo dip. It's thick with good ingredients and yum.
I saw those chocolates when they first came out. I'm sadly allergic to oats. I'm happy that there are larger companies making more vegan options
You guys have way more in the us than here in nz :( we do however have am oat milk chocolate. Gardein we have but only there fishless fish, meat balls and original beef style patties
That I have seen
Sweet potato fries are too wet. That line just made me smile :).
I wanna say this before I forgot (I’m not even done the video) but 1. I love that you have a major sweet tooth bc sometimes I swear I’m the only “healthy” mostly plant based (not 100% vegan yet) that has a HUGE sweet tooth and I’ll see these recipes and it’ll be like an entire batch of truffles with 1 tbsp of maple syrup and I’m like how in the hell is that enough sweetness and is there something wrong with me lol
2. I recently got the frozen meals by tatooted chef and oh my gosh they are so good. They are 100% plant based, most of them have a good bit of protein (over 20 g) and they taste amazing. I’m eating the egg roll bowl rn and while it was cooking even my cats were going nuts and then they continued to try and eat it. So if my little obligate carnivores think it’s real meat that’s saying something lol. I thought people would wanna know I love those ultimate gardein tenders as well the ones in the black bag. I got my mom hooked on them and she still eats chicken at least once a week. I do the cooking so I refuse to cook meat most of the time so she’s forced to eat vegan meals lol. But she LOVES them and even prefers them to normal chicken tenders now.
3. I’m so glad you share this and help people eat a healthy balanced diet while vegan. It’s so important to have actual decent vegan influences to look up to and go to for advice so people don’t end up watching freelee or other fully raw bloggers and ultimately fail or not even start in the first place bc it seems undoable. Veganism is about morality and helping the environment so idk why ppl like freelee shame you for eating vegan junk food when you are still helping the animals. If she actually cared about animals shes should just be glad ppl are vegan.
I hope we get to have regular updates on the Hollow Knight progression
Katjes is a great brand, has been vegan for a long time! Btw it's pronounced "Cut-Yes" :D
They're a vegetarian company, not vegan but they do have a lot of vegan products 👌🏻
That's not how it's pronounced at all :')
@@Keijiko yes it is. How would you pronounce it?
@@Keijiko It's a german company, I am german, yes it is pronounced "cut-yes".
@@wa6184 Yeah you're right, sorry! I just remembered seeing their vegan labeled products for a long time
We really need more lime flavour things, lol.
My husband is not vegan and he loves the Morningstar hot dogs!
I was not really a fan of the Lindt, but Walmart has a Sam’s choice oat milk dark chocolate that is fantastic!
I don’t know if vegan milk chocolate is just bad or if I just don’t like milk chocolate anymore because I’ve been eating dark chocolate for so long.
I have bought vegan versions of snickers, Mars bar etc and I always feel like it would be better with dark chocolate. It just gets too sweet for me.
your question about the marketing tactic is correct. i think putting "Vegan" on a package in the US reduces sales on avg by like 30-40% because its associated with deprivation
yay
The oat milk chocolate isn't bad, but it doesn't taste like true chocolate to me. It tastes more like an Easter chocolate. I believe it's called confectioner's chocolate. Not enough chocolate flavor, too milky/sweet. If you like Easter chocolate though you'll definitely like the Lindt oat milk bar.
Katjes is pronounced like cut-yes. At least here in Germany. ☺️
I was excited about the Lindt Oat Milk Chocolate, however I don't believe Lindt is an ethical Chocolate brand. They say they are, but it's hard to find that clarification beyond their own website.
Straight vinegar and… ass
Ahahahahaha I dead 😂
L❤❤❤VE ALL Bitchn Sauces!!! I eat them with baby carrots. 😋
Oh I gotta keep an eye out for the lindt chocolate. I really like white chocolate but every vegan white chocolate I've tried has been absolutely disgusting so maybe this will do the trick
Lindt 70% dark and up is vegan. There is no dairy involved.
Pretty sure she knows 😉 but it's good they have some "milky" options for those people who don't like dark chocolate.
@@wa6184 I am sure she does, but maybe a lot of people who read these comments don't.Take care 👍
I agree on the gardein ultimate tasting yummy mostly
The chocolate is way too good
I get the Katjes gummies at WALGREENS!
We have the Hazelnut chocolate in the UK. I was SO excited when I found it but oh man... it tastes like nothing. It genuinely doesn't have any flavour.
Oh i'm in canada and tried the lindt vegan hazelnut and i have to say i did not like it. it was too sweet and tasted a bit cheap. I paid $8 for it though!
Rosemary tastes like pine trees.
I've tried Lindt Oat Milk Chocolate and Whittaker's Oat Milk Chocolate, unfortunately I couldn't get behind it. Taste is too plasticky and cheap for the price point.
Katjes is pronounced "cut-yes"
I would you to see you do a sugar free or gluten free challenge for a week.
Katjes means 'little cats'. Kitten = kitten in Dutch
I'm sad, I did not like either of the lindt chocolate bars. I had such high hopes. To me, it didn't taste like chocolate, it just tasted overly sweet. 😭
Fazer had vegan milk chocolate earlier
I got those gummies at grocery outlet too, they ROCK
That oat milk chocolate is so disappointing. I was so excited hoping that Lindt would actually make some GOOD vegan milk chocolate. But nope, it sucks. It doesn't taste like good milk chocolate (Milka, Lindt etc), but just tastes sweet and gross.
0:16 Don't share that with anyone who speaks Spanish XD
THE CHEDDAR PEATOS ARE NOT GOOD, they have such a strong smell right put of the bag, my friends and I all agreed, it's a lot
Having a baby really changed your taste buds.
The lightlife hotdogs are SO bland
Is there any chance you have ADHD? It's pretty common to get on and off food trains. I can eat the same thing for months on end then one day I never want to touch it again
Your SIX-year-old?? Oh gosh, I'm old. Legit thought your kids were just gonna stay babies forever lol what's up with that
i like the 70% and i believe 80% dark chocolate. i would not buy if they use oat milk. oats are unhealthy
