I’ve never seen Damon smile and laugh so much in an interview..ughhhh will this 25 year crush ever die?!
And the answer to this question is:
NO MATE KEEP ON LOVING!
nope
Definitely not
Keep on loving him!
yeS deMonS truly gorgeouS hndSoMe iSn,t he
Thom Yorke definitely needs to be next. That being said, I’m so glad Damon Got recognized here.
I can listen to this man for hours, what a beautiful mind.
Indeed 🌟
and accent, tone and speaking voice... I have spent months listen to every single thing he has created....
hard to believe the Geezer is 50, still holding on to those boyish looks
well, his hair is only like...20? 10? lolololol
Still sooooo yummy
aging well..
@@michaelsnow7252 like fine wine hehee
And with all he drinks too
I feel like Damon is like a mate i lost in a pub years ago, who i keep hearing about but never get round to meeting. Id love to hang out coz i feel the same attitudes to the world, like he feels about Bowie i feel about him. And Bowie. Much humble respect for the artist collaborator.
Me too
I could listen to Damon talk for hours
My guess is that he could too!
I like British speech so much. I am Russian, and it is difficult for me to distinguish American from British. but when I found out about Damon Albarn, I listened to his speech and understood how much the pronunciation is different. and realized that I really like the British language!
That dinner and jam with Damon, Paul Simonon and Paul McCartney must've been quite something...
must have been a bore
@@reindeer-o-stoole not really, or you were there?
his speaking voice.... damn
Damon Albarn is a Treasure to Music!
Didn't want this interview to end
This is so British. From the topics to the accent, the clothings and even the teeth.
Pleeeease, John Squire on this series!!! Not properly interviewed yet. I think Doran is the man for that task
My god, if they somehow manage to get John Squire on here it will be more than an interview it will be a genuine piece of history! PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
What a legend! This interview just isn’t long enough
I saw Blur live in -94. Damon looks the same! Impressive!
Can I just say he looks great for 50 years old ❤️
Still can’t get over the fact that this is dude does “Woohoo!” and “Windmill, windmill for the land”
Great interviewer, well thought out questions and got Damon very engaged (rare)
Damon is such a god to me is just really wierd for me to see him sitting there talking doing human things, I feel his voice inside of my heart everytime he talks.
Are you aware just how pathetic that sounds?
I saw the good the bad the queen in Blackpool and had tears in my eyes throughout, an incredible band. Damons energy is beautiful. Great interview 👌❤️
This man is a genius.
John bringing the correct Blur album for Damon to sign.
Blur - Gorillaz - Everyday Robots - The Bad The Good The Queen 👏
** Recognizing talent all the way from Los Angeles California , it was a pleasure and honor to tear to your Gorillaz tracks on Oct 20th
The background music gives me a feeling I'm in a hospital bed gasping for my last few breaths of air as the hospital lights overcome my sight and I fade into an echo.
I think this is my favourite interview of the series...as is always the case when Damon is involved! Not only is he one of the greatest songwriters of our generation he is such a fascinating interviewee. I didn't want tit to end!
I just love his creative mind, keep making music Damon!
I could have watched another hour of this. Great interview.
These chats are always really good, even when I'm not especially keen on the artist being interviewed.
Massive appreciation for John still shoehorning Fall questions in every chance he gets ;)
Love these. Many thanks to all involved.
Excellent interview. In Damon the spirit of Ray Davies will live on long beyond the passing of the master.
I don't know why when Damon started talking about David being one of his influences, I was so moved by the way he said it.
Sir Damon The Man That Is Albarn.
you gotta do Ian Paice from Deep Purple, Martin Gore from Depeche Mode, Vince Clarke from Erasure/Yazoo/Depeche Mode, Robert Fripp from King Crimson, Arthur Brown from The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Pete Townsend (The Who) etc
Just excellent. Damon is a complete hero...
Damon Albarn is a legend
What a great interview
Wow, need to hear that Erykah Badu collab ASAP
If he was that drunk Erykah probably doesnt want it released
Yes pleas
The signing of the records at the end!! 😭
legend
the masters series gives helps colour to a time that was before mine. John Doran is clearly held in high regard by the interviewees which brings out so much more from them. Long may the masters series continue!
An absolute King
Loved the atmospheric sound that accompanies the interview, kinda dreamy, fucking brilliant
Maximum Blaster dude I even asked Doran on FB what that music was and he doesn’t even know haha, he said my best luck was trying to read the comments to find out :(
@@arwaldc9056 it's the song Primadona by Audrey Ryan pal
@@Backs2Boredom THANK YOU hahaha
Why is Damon getting hotter and younger HELP 😱🔥😍😵🤤
Look up masahiro sakurai that is llin his 40s and he hasn't aged since he was 19
Plastic surgery
@@alfiekennedy1657 nah, He looked aged but good looking. People still good looking after 50. Life no ends at 20s
Alfie Kennedy no.. where'd you get that from??
Best interview what a hero
Damon is someone if Lennon & Macca have a child together with Bowie as his nanny while hanging out with beastie boys
you described it very well!
Damon is perfect 💜
Another Classic for the books!!!! Well done John! You were born to interview musicians of the highest caliber ol’ son!!!!!
As others have already said, PLEASE try to get John Squire on...or Reni, the most under-appreciated drummer of all time!
wow brilliant! thank you for this wonderful interview.
Brilliant
Brilliant...
br-brilliant....?
brilliant ...brilliant?
brilliant?!
good stuff. apart from the really annoying sound in the background.
Just let it pass over you. I love it, makes it feel like a dream.
Awesome! Damon Albarn is one of my favorite musicians of all time! Blur and Gorillaz are always on my playlists.
@@sratus I freaking loved it for the very same thing, it's dreamy and accompanies the interview perfectly, PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THIS EVER
so subjective. it's not too bad
Yeah, although it's grown on me it still sounds like something that should be playing in the background of a Salad Fingers video, it's kind of unsettling.
great interview
I Look Up To You Mr Albarn You'll Always Inspire Me In Life And Death
what a beautiful mind to pick
I remember John having a dig at Blur during the Dizzee Rascal episode so was surprised, but happy, to see this.
Wish this was longer and more about the music.
God, hearing "why was it time for you to come back after an 11 year break?" made me feel "old" for the first time. I'm not very old but I can remember when that first album came out, and 11 years is a long time.
Damon is the best Master in this whole series by miles. I mean, come on.
Sorry, Mick Head edges him out(and I love Damon)
@@Kkidzz You must have missed Johnny Marr in Chapter 4.
Cal Dowling you’re having a laugh surely
@@caldowling1415 Johnny lost the spark after The Smiths, nothings come close since
@smokin cheerios Noel Gallagher hasn’t made anything decent since ‘95. Even that was from ripping off old rock songs. He’s no master of anything
Good interview
I really really love you! / from South Korea
Nunca te mueras por favor Damon
I'm a French fan of Damon's and I've always loved British culture, I'm about the same age as he is. I can't help thinking that in some years' time, when the EU is definitely a thing of the past and we're all relieved it is, Remainers will feel embarrassed looking back at this post Brexit referendum nightmare bullshit. Just saying...
I love the way he has to dance about him saying he was off his nut in these "tricky" collaborations
Finally the man gets an episode haha
Plastic Beach is my favourite Gorilaz LP
Yaaaas
Does anyone know where the background music is from?
He talks about Brexit but forgets about Moderm Life is Rubbish which was the original Brexit Concept album.
Anyone against Brexit is a sellout
No Nass, it wasn't. It was a satire album about England. There was a love for England but also a distaste for the less desirable aspects of it.
The lighter in the hand... The constant brakes to laugh.... Is my boy high? Lol
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays throughout this in the background?
There’s even a performance and interview with Damon and Bowie here on youtube
Damon Albarn:What Do You Want To Be? Jared(Spirit):To Be The Greatest Musician But Me And God Have That Worked Out I Want To See You In Heaven (The Music)

Wish they let out the unedited version
Damon would be a great politician. He should consider it .
He's already involved in politics. "His" views on Brexit appear to mirror those of war criminal, Tony Blair's.
I really hope that collaboration with Erykah Badu surfaces one day...unless Damon was thinking of the song she appears on in Rocketjuice and The Moon, in which case it's already surfaced.
And also, speaking of Mark Smith and the Fall, I hope Damon eventually releases that demo of Glitter Freeze that had more of Mark's vocals.
lol dude its on youtube
Cool!
DAAAMOOON!!!! YEEEEEES!!!! also am I the only one that has 2D from Gorillaz pop up in their mind whenever listening to blur?
P.S. I frickin loooooooooove the Gorillaz!💚💙💛❤
This was way too short
never closed that fast "liam gallagher-the british masters"
Yes!!! This video is too damn long-overdue tho.
Whats the background track/loop name?
Wow i heard in a interview with Damon Albarn that he had at some point a falling out with David Bowie
Please try and get Thom Yorke on here.
Alex Pack
Surely one shallow pretentious twat in the form of albarn is more than enough!
Fucking gem of a man.
Damon looks like a Gorillaz character.
Such a fucking cool dude. Would love to get to chat w him.
🙌🏽
Anyone know the backing track at the beggining?
This is a great interview, but the constant drone in the background can piss off please.
I was expecting Damon to show up in this, too.
Ruth.E imagine they go to his studio just to interview Paul hahaha
@@Char10tti3 haha
Nut
Should have clocked the reflection in the piano.
Need to hear that collab with Erykah Badu - real shit
If he hasn't put it out then I'm guessing that it's either unusable or Badu has refused her permission.
Which accent is he using? Is it cokney? Posh? I'm not English and just qurious...
please get Morrissey on this show, would love to see John try and unwind him
north south divide... north just getting on with being, south still trying to prove it
Was that demon days playing in the background or am I just making my own auditory pareidolia
Thom Yorke definitely needs to be next (2x)
I really like the sober approach to this show, but the background noice is really an unnecessary touch
