hagler10033 wall of glass is a great tune though. I met him back stage in Sweden when oasis played in 2009. I stopped him. And he goes "what do you want!?" I told him our grand parents were neighbours in Ireland. Then he was sound. Chatted for a good five minutes. I had to cut it short because the boss was watching me slacking off taking to him.
hagler10033 I dunno. I like it. There's some tasty riffs, backing vocals with a gospel blues feel. Without a doubt we miss the oasis sound. But I reckon Liam's on the up in terms of solo success. The last three years has given him plenty of tune to think about the future. Just watched the Glastonbury set. The band he has with him are solid. The main element missing from both Liam and Noel's solo career is the esp sibling connection. Their vocal harmony and synergy. Without that there is at times a fair degree of lack lustre.

He's interesting cos he's both a barrel of insecurities, and self-belief. And how much of a contrast he is to Noel. He is totally unpretentious and a little brash. But charmingly non-judgemental and sweet natured. Noel is brighter, but also probably more of a cold bastard (at least to people outside of his family).

I think Liam once said he's the last of the old school rock stars and I'd have to agree. He had the band, the tunes, the fans, the drugs and the lifestyle AND survived to tell the tale. Not many modern day artists can claim that done all the above and be here now (see what I did there?). Definitely got his name in the history books.
Why this man is not acting, especially comedy is beyond me. Liam has a way with words few have, his brother is the same as well. It would be lovely to see the B.S. between them get resolved and the two land a cameo in a movie together being themselves....they would steal the scene...just a thought.
He is not a comedian he is just mancunian.. They all have down to earth chilled personalities.

Songwriting is a form of therapy, definitely agree with Liam on that. I respect that he doesn't really care where or how his 'solo' career goes, he just wants to do it because he feels it's his calling- which is rightfully so. Lots of respect for the guy.

What was he like in person? I’ve lived in north london my whole life and had never seen either of them ikr till I randomly saw LG walking down the street in Highgate a year or so ago. I was quite far away but his gait and apparel were unmistakeable. Didn’t get say hello to him tho

Admittedly his voice deteriorated after that (till recently) but the band were also so interesting cos of the constant tension between the bros and their outspoken behaviour, which was unlike anyone else in the public eye in the UK at the time. I love the interviewers relaxed style of questioning.
Everyone says that Liam was the bad apple in Oasis, but honestly the more interviews I watch of him and of Noel the more I'm convinced Noel was the real asshole, constantly having a go at his brother.
Yes, Liam has a in-your-face attitude, but he seems more genuine and good-hearted than Noel, who seems a bit more sneaky and mean-spirited.

I agree. I want to like Noel because he's very intelligent, a good songwriter, and guitarist. I like his music, but his recent interviews really shed a light on how delusional he's become. Seems like he's lying about almost everything.
What happened to Oasis can really only be understood if you've been in a band. Noel wanted to be the guy. He figured because he wrote the songs and started singing more, that he was the most important. But what he didn't take into consideration was the element of what "Star Power" is. People would rather see Liam sing Noel's songs, then Noel sing his own songs. Why? Because Liam is the voice, hence he is the star.
So true, but it’s sad cos any fans of the band know they were both equal frontmen. I’d buy a magazine w them to read as much as what Liam said as Noel said. Or seeing a gig equally for both of them. The formula worked perfectly. Silly egos have to get involved. Having said that if they hadn’t split up Noel might not have made chasing yesterday, imo the second best album he’s ever written
