I love how supportive she is to everyone else and how she always checks in on everyone... but it’s sad we don’t see anybody really checking in on her ya know? Like she had her moment crying alone in the tree house but Ricky went to big red for comfort. And sure “off camera” nini probably would’ve gone to kourtney but by the next episode she was all smiles and happy and pushing forward. I just feel like she swallows and hides a lot of her pain for the sake of others 🥺

Nina, Kourt, Ashlyn, Big Red, Carlos and Seb have the purest intentions and don't hide their feelings (Carlos is just a high class diva as he should be)
Gina and EJ are such good characters who have reasons for hiding their feelings but are learning to embrace them
Ricky needs therapy (he's sweet, just his brain that's fizzled)
Honestly, I would love to see Ricky in therapy, I feel like it would be a nice scene and a way to touch on something that might be a taboo subject for some people :)

@@pankeh2434 the situations were completely different. Dean said I love you, Rory didn’t say it back, Dean started yelling and broke up with her. Nini said I love you, Ricky didn’t say it back, Ricky told HER that he wanted to take a break. What was he expecting her to do? Wait around for when it was convenient for HIM to want to be in a relationship?
She was just kind of annoying to me, but she got a little better over time.

Nope. I liked her in the beginning. But second season she was getting worse and worse as a person. Nothing with Olivia to do. But her character became very self obsessed (except for few moments).

This also kind of shows how Ricky is one of the other best characters, but at the same time the worst character. 💀 He should have been more honest with Nini about his feelings. I guess no one is perfect, but he also could have expressed his feelings in a better way. At least so that he looked like he was considerate of Nini's feelings, too. Which we all know that he was, but he just messed up a lot.
Yes because they are so adult when in high School and have learned everything on how to express. I hope they ship Ricky "with that blonde girl" from North High in season 3.

Nini is not my favorite character, but I love her, she is so kind and genuine and she has the same name as me (Nina), which is awesome and Olivia portrays her so well, she is by far one of the best characters
I’m going to sound like the most annoying person I know but I’m going to go out and say it. Nini was the BEST character in HSM the series. Not just because Olivia Rodrigo plays her but the way she just kinda handled everything and who she was. About the breakup tho, this girl just pours her HEART out to a guy she’s known since kindergarten and does it in the most ADORABLE way and his response is “let’s take a break”. HOW DO YOU EXPECT ANYONE TO BE OKAY AFTER THAT. She was locked in her room for days, in the words of Kourtney “it was dark”. Even after that, she finds another guy who really just sees her as a star and I think he was more a rebound than an actual boyfriend. She still worried for Ricky and HELLO DID ANYONE SEE THE HSM PLAY?! The way she grabs his arm and pulls him while singing that ICONIC song. Helping him with his confidence AND THE CONFESSION AFTER AHHHH. okay so I will not deny tho, season 2 got out of hand. Although! we get the BEST song in HSM (imo) GRANTED! Basically just telling herself to choose between life at East High and Ricky or strive for something greater. I won’t lie. It was messed up knowing someone so long and NOT telling them you’re leaving or giving them a heads up or anything. That was bad on Nini’s part. However, she did try everything she could to make it work and even did the distance relationship but Ricky was just a mess without her and of course was dealing with the show and the rivalry school and his parents. LONG STORY SHORT. I feel Nini was a great girlfriend when she needed to be and was trying to be there for him but ultimately you kinda need to come to terms with the fact that he did hold her back because he just wanted everything to stay the same cuz he doesn’t like change (rightfully so due to family reasons and past experiences with it). Whereas she wanted the “out with the old in with the new” kinda vibe.They both played a part in the breakup but I think it was a necessary one. She knew where she wanted to be and he… didn’t. Can’t blame someone for that.
All in all I think people misinterpret Nini as the ungrateful and jerk girlfriend who abandoned her boyfriend with abandonment issues for her own selfish reasons. Hopefully I shed some positive light on that.

People just like to hate on the main character whenever there’s a show with a large cast. Especially singing ones with female leads. Rachel Berry from Glee, Tori from Victorious, etc.

Rachel is intentionally written as an obnoxious brat. that thinks everything should be handed to her.
I think the problem with all 3 of your examples is that their respective shows have to reinforce every 5 minutes how amazing they are. And the whole world revolves around them.
I know they are the main characters, but I think you can handle that a lot better without having it feel like they are above everyone else.
I really like Nini, seeing her come out of her shell in season 1 was great. But in season 2 it really felt like they tried to shove as many songs for her in as possible. And it´s honestly extremely unrealistic that she managed to get into that acting school with that mediocre acting performance during the musical in the season 1 finale.
@@Beny763 I guess that makes sense, but personally I managed to watch all three shows without being bothered by them. I felt like Rachel was written to be funny, and I had also felt bad for her when she was being cyber bullied by the cheerleaders in episode one. I feel like since the main characters are what the shows are centered on, they have to be given more opportunities in order for the show to go somewhere.
Eh I just didn't like her cause she got on my nerves a lot.
Ik. Rachel was sometimes problematic and annoying, but she had amazing character development, was good to her friends, and she kept the Glee club alive multiple times. Even when Rachel did terrible things, she would almost always try to make things right. Some ppl will hate her for being selfish but then they will defend characters like Santana and Quinn who were both almost just as problematic/selfish as Rachel. Tori from Victorious was not that bad. She did a few bad things, but she was mostly a chill and friendly person. The worst thing Tori did was kiss Cat's bf which she did apologize to Cat for and she let Cat punch her in the face. Jade however bullied Tori in ep 1 for no reason, stole a pint of blood from Tori that was supposed to help Robbie just bc Tori got the lead over her, and she faked a black eye to make it look like Tori hit her when she didn't. Jade did become a better person, but she never apologized to Tori for any of the mean things she did. Yet a lot of ppl loved Jade and hated Tori. As for Nini, she may not be super interesting or entertaining like Gina or Ricky or EJ, but that doesn't make her a bad character. She literally is so friendly and sweet and tries to help others. She did make some mistakes, like stealing Gina's stuff and not telling Ricky about Denver until the night before. She came clean about that thing to Gina though, and Nini did try to tell Ricky earlier but it was just hard bc she very much cares for Ricky.
