- This is my version of a catch and cook LOL.
Today I went down to Malibu Creek, California, to catch some invasive lobsters or crayfish (AKA crawfish or crawdads). We ended up getting a meal or two for the Mantis.My Peacock Mantis Shrimp is beautiful and packs a Punch. Watch till the end to see extended video of my Mantis Shrimp hunting.

It doesn't care. A bigger tank would mean cleaner and more stable water, but it literally just wants a place to burrow and some rocks for cover. They never leave their burrow unless looking for food or another shrimp to bone, then they go back home.
One of my friends is color blind and his parents got him a mantis to make him feel better, one day in class we talked about them cause they can see 16 different colors and one of my classmates just goes "this mantis can see more colors than you" to my friend while I'm just sitting there like "it can see more colors than you too tho..."

It might seem ugly but some fish/ animals prefer undecorated spaces for example some flower horns will lull themselves banging their heads on decorations so it just depends on the animal but yeah it is pretty ugly

Some people are so used to prestine display reef tanks they forget that nature is inherently "dirty" and only under human care, supervision and technology can we make it asthetically perfect. The algae on the back wall doesnt matter; it might actually be healthy.

I like how smart the mantis shrimp is. They truly prey on their targets. Notice how he struck the cray’s claws when approaching from the front, went after the main shell when attacking from the rear? He only wanted the meat from the claw first. As soon as he was done, that cray would’ve been consumed afterwards. His whole plan was to disarm the claws first. Very smart creatures for their size.
