@@coolice5786 I would think so. But since it’s claw is so small I don’t think it would try to pinch your finger. But I’m not sure. From what I read they use their claws to heat up the water to try to get their prey. I could be wrong though and I apologize if I am.
Imagine if mother nature had evolved humans with the ability to crush a bears head with a single punch, for the purpose of eating them on the daily, over millions of years, and then some alien tree hugger coming in and saying "this doesn't seem right" :D
The pistol shrimp can literally Thano snap, it’s powerful enough to rip water apart getting so hot, that it’s hot as the sun for a sec, as unbelievable as that sounds it’s real and incredible
For maybe milisecond i dont know because if we put the surface of a sun in a water the water would surely be dry even if we put the surface of the sun just 1 second in the water
mantis shrimp is way bigger and can punch with the force and speed of a 20 caliber bullet. The mantis shrimp is by far, way more powerful. And by the way it also, the mantis shrimp can also heat water to the temperature of the sun
if mantis shrimp were bigger, they would be fricking terrifying. just imagine hyper intelligent germaphobic-super strength shrimp chasing after you because it wants to eat your flesh
The mantis shrimp appears to be trying to hide at every opportunity. After a couple of shots from that pistol shrimp and he had enough. I think that the belt goes to the pistol shrimp, even though he is a fraction of the size of the mantis, he really packs a punch. It probably rattled the insides of the mantis, like a shock wave and if he had a towel, he would have tossed it in.
@@alwayjohnrallos7359 he got lucky because the pistol shrimp only attacked in self defense and would flee, but had no where to go since they’re in a tiny tank. That and all the openings it got in this video the stupid guys filming would fuck it up by moving shit around or tapping the glass.
The pistol shrimp requires pressure in order to shoot that devastating bubble, so in here he can barely hurt a thing sadly. The mantis was probably scared or intimidated
@@chairman4912 you sure about that 👀 because last I checked the force and speed causes a bubble that collapses generating heat up to 8,500 degrees Fahrenheit. I love mantis shrimp lol
@@KuroKamii94 oh damn, didnt know that. Sadly the surface of the suns temperature is around 9,900 degrees fahrenheit. Sadly the mantis is a thousand cooler.
@sidneycarter2983 putting 2 animals in a small cage to fight is not good content. Channels like this desensitizes animal abuse for people who don't think about it. What if this was the same video, but with dogs instead of shrimp? Wouldn't be such "good content" then would it?
“I didn’t think that was gonna happen!” I mean… what’d you expect? Mantis Shrimp are aggressive and highly territorial, not to mention one of the best eyesights of the animal kingdom. The Pistol Shrimp, when it shoots off it’s “pistol”, it can reach up to 8,000 F (About as hot as the surface of the sun!) around the area, creating a bubble too.
These videos seem heartless and inhumane. How can you raise a pet for that long and then try to pit it to fights to the death and endanger its safety. They were literally commenting on how intelligent of a creature it is in a previous video, and to dangerously make it fight other animals for no reason other than enjoyment is cruel.
how is it inhumane? this is how the mantis shrimp exists/hunts in nature. shit's dangerous you need to realize that death isn't cruel, it's natural. and we get to see a beautiful, intelligent, and powerful creature thrive
@@toastmaster7595 But the point is to make it feel like its in his natural habitat its not like a dog or cat Who Co evolved with us for thousand of years and Who share mainly the same habitat as human but a mantis shrimp is way totally diffrent.
@@SemraAust But it’s not like it’s in its natural habitat. The pistol shrimp was placed in the tank while the mantis shrimp was already there. The mantis shrimp had an advantage because this isn’t a natural situation. If it happened in the wild naturally, it would be acceptable. Now I’m going to admit, I don’t know much about these 2 animals, but putting animals in a situation where they have to fight isn’t humane. When it’s a natural encounter, it’s fine.
The reason the temperature went up is because when the pistol shrimp lands a blow it hits so fast it vaporizes the water around it causing the temperature to rise by a little (also for 1/4 of a second reaches the temperature of the sun)
@Scrubba_Ducky “The pistol shrimp is a remarkable creature about 4 cm in length and 25 grams in weight. Despite its small size, it can move its claws at a speed of 97 km/hr. The speed of the snap is such that a bubble is created consisting of vacuum. The internal low pressure causes a water pulse that immobilizes prey with an associated noise of 218 dB which is louder than a bullet, and reportedly a temperature of 4800 degrees centigrade which is similar to the surface temperature of the sun, albeit over a very small area.”

In fact, the pistol shrimp’s air bubble bullets when collapsing can reach temperatures of 4000°C and the mantis shrimp can punch so quickly that the water surrounding it boils.
yeah but the temp is for the whole tank not for the specific small point that reaches 4000c also this is just flat out a shit video considering there forcing these 2 animals to fight instead of catching it happening in the wild were its natural.

@@arimeister1200 This isn’t in nature though. There was no reason to make them fight. That’s putting both animals at risk just for views.
I completely agree. These 'men' are pathetic.

But the point is to make it feel like its in his natural habitat its not like a dog or cat Who Co evolved with us for thousand of years and Who share mainly the same habitat as human but a mantis shrimp is way totally diffrent.
Well, that sucked. Pistol shrimp was fighting WAY outside his weight class and we didn't even get to see the result of the fight.
The reason the temperature went up is because when the pistol shrimp lands a blow it hits so fast it vaporizes the water around it causing the temperature to rise by a little (also for 1/4 of a second reaches the temperature of the sun)
@Scrubba_Ducky it has quite literally been measured and proven by science. How dense can you be
@Scrubba_Ducky “The pistol shrimp is a remarkable creature about 4 cm in length and 25 grams in weight.
@Scrubba_Ducky know what this is? It’s a Stanford study. Maybe instead of challenging science that has been proven on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. You could go out and do some research on your own. You just made yourself look foolish
@Scrubba_Ducky No thoughts? Can I think for myself now?
