Doodles are especially prone to bad ears because they have continuously growing coats. Therefore, the hair in their ear also continues to grow if it is not plucked in a timely manner it turns into a mat like this one.
@RoversMakeoverOfficial I see, I've only had labs all my life and I don't remember any of them having any problems like this. My last yellow lab "Dylan" loved when I turned his ear inside out so to speak and gently rub the whole thing, he would make little happy noises and turn into my hand.
All dogs shed. It’s one of the reasons why dogs with what we’d consider hair have an easier time getting matted. They don’t shed like the normal double coated dog. Add that to the inconsistent coat mess of doodles, makes it even worse.
Doodles fur can sometimes be worse than the original breeds because the combination of different fur types can just lead to a much worse coat. People think non shedding and think it's easy - its not!
Oh man, poor baby. Ears like that, even the calmest dog I'd think of muzzling for their safety and my own. That had to be painful even before pulling it out!😢 thanks for being so good helping cases like this.
Gosh Mary Beth that was some amount of hair,, wax etc you got out of his ear. It seemed to be never ending. We know his ear will be sore but it will feel better when the irritation of removal goes away. I presume his other ear is the same. Poor dog. Thank you for helping him, he really needed you.

This should have been done under sedation at vets. I understand there’s no easy way to remove such a mess but some comfort and gentleness might have helped. The pain of the hair removal on top of an ear infection - just seems cruel without pain relief/sedation
@@KerryP-c8v exactly, groomers shouldn’t be going anywhere near a dogs’ ear canal if it’s infected and/or matted. The owners could have reached out to multiple vets and decided on one that is closest to their budget, and ideally a clinic that can offer a payment plan. I feel like people don’t realise how uncomfortable it may be for the dog and they don’t realise that ear plucking can cause even more damage to an already infected ear - so they don’t see any issue in getting it done during the dogs groom 😬
@@RoversMakeoverOfficial dogs are meant to have a bit of hair in their ears to keep debris and dirt out. I know this is a super old video but you’re not meant to pluck their ears till no hair is left otherwise they’re more susceptible to ear infections
I Bring my poodle to the groomer every six weeks and the last time I brought him home, he was shaking his head terribly. I generally will use an ear drop for the first couple days after grooming because he’s susceptible to ear infections, but this time I had to take him to the vet and he had to get put on steroids and a different Ear drop the vet said his ears was so swollen that he couldn’t even see his canal. What would they have done to cause this?
Wouldn't it be a bit perverted to cause a pain to a dog and THEN IMMEDIATELY be all sweet and pet him? I'm not judging the plucking in this very comment of mine (that would be a matter for other discussion), I'm judging your desire to see a dog being petted by the very same person that just seconds/minutes ago caused him pain. Petting him sometime later? Of course (but this video wasn't long enough for this). Petting him right before or right after, as if nothing happened? Perverted.
How does the dog get hair in his ear like that?

Doodles have some of the worst ear infections I’ve seen. Non shedding doesn’t mean non grooming.

I had deleted the channel and took about a six month break
Same here
That was amazing how much hair was in that ear.
Do you think this should have been a vet procedure? I would be hesitant with this.

I did. Find a vet who helps in extreme cases instead of putting them through more pain. Above all, be much more gentle and comforting to the poor dog!

Are these your new videos ... i enjoy watching your videos
That poor dog.😢
Oh wow. You are a great groomer. Thanks for filming
Poor dog, but also poor Sadie.
Poor puppy
Totally should of been done by a vet.
What's the video 📹 playing in the background marybeth?
What is the name of the powder please
I would have liked to see what shape the other ear was in...
Does that hurt? Like, are you pulling out his hair? How does that hair get in there?
Poor dog. I hope you let the owner have it. That's abuse

It was probably infected and groomer may have disturbed the infection when cleaning. Check ears too regularly.
@ no his ears were not infected. We keep a very close eye on him.
She seems very cold. I haven't seen her pet the dog once.Ripping that out must be very painful.
was the dog given something for pain?
t
A groomer isn't here to pet the dog, she is working and faster it goes, best is it for the dog
She’s explained this before but if she makes the dog excited, they can be harder to groom

Poor baby. He's being so good considering the state of his ears.
Shes just yanking and getting nothing which causes extreme pain!
She pulled out two long, pieces of matted fur and she was getting nothing? Oh please
Why can't the whole video be shown?
Wow!
He got a lot of matting in the right ear he never did the left
I did the other ear but did not film it. It was just as bad. This video is back from 2019.

Doing that with bare fingers.....???😮😮😮

Because it’s the fastest way to get it done and only causes very temporary pain

Cuz it needs to be done
That's ridiculous

That was just one ear. Was the other ear in the same condition?
Yes
Wow, poor guy.
I wonder how she will feel if any body c leaned her ear like this?
This was too harsh and intrusive. The ear doesn’t need to be squeaky clean, it’s a dog. Going deep to pull out a speck of ear wax is dangerous.
Cleaner the better. Anything left in there can cause problems.
You are hurting him! Stop already! He’s crying! This should be done under sedation! Shame 😔

I did read it. Not a justifiable excuse for rough handling and lack of compassion. It’s not the dog’s fault so try to be gentle is all.
This dog could have had this done by a vet where he could have been given sedation!
I know this poor dog must’ve been in pain because she’s very rough. I’m sure it’s hard to clean but no need to be so rough.
Why didn't you wet the hair. Surely you could have put some oil or something. Poor dog.
Wetting the hair or putting oil on it would make it slippery and unable to be removed.
She really just yanked it out?
Are you kidding me
