You’re a terrible, uncaring groomer. The pup deserves gentleness, caring, and a love. You just dump all this on him, bless him. The high pressure nozzle is way too much.
The horrible thing about this is, she will try to get rid of fleas, cut hair, but it needs a vet for meds etc. AND it will go back to home where it's most likely flea infested so everything she is doing will be for nothing. Forget she said she can't report a client, think she should be more concerned for the animal. He is going to be in pain and sick with the owners

Let's pray this is a start for recovery for this little girl. Hopefully the owner will take more steps at home to rectify the situation. Their home must be so flea infested. I would think the owner would be just eaten up by fleas too, which could cause a serious health condition for them. I know she is afraid to call animal control on the pet owner. To help this little dog and the owner, someone should call senior, elder protective services. I am picturing how bad their home must be. They need help. There are places that will help seniors with pets to help take care of the pets needs.

Que se dedique a otra cosa, no debe de tratar con animales, es una salvaje. Jamás se meten bastoncillos delgados en las orejas. Los oídos de los perros hay que limpiarlos con el dedo envuelto en una toallitas suave con unas gotas de alcohol , hay que pasar hasta que salga limpia, pero con suavidad. El bastoncill puede perforar el tímpano.
Nunca hay que mojar las orejas con chorro de agua a presión. Creo que está loca. Ese perro necesita curar la infección en un veterinario.

This was utterly heartbreaking to watch. This poor dog was scared and shut down. I can only imagine the level of neglect at home compounded by other humans being repulsed. She certainly wouldn’t be going home to a loving, caring environment.

I notice she is saying to the dog "I know" and comforting it. she pets it. It's in the way she handles it...I can see it in her hands she has soft hands...and is confident in using the clippers. That goes a long way. She is fast with both clipper and scissor work which is good for an ailing dog.

I am so surprised the dog is still alive, the owner being 75 yrs old is no excuse, if she can drive her car she can take the dog to the vet, makes you wonder what her home is like, and the fact she had family, Friends and Neighbours sit there and watch this little soul suffer, they are as responsible as she is!!!

If I were a groomer I'd be more worried about the dogs and the human than me losing a customer. This poor poor animal should NEVER be that bad. Imagine what the other dog looks like. No one will know if you report owners unless you say something about it. Please PLEASE from now on, think about the animals before you think about losing customers.

I think the point of saying that wasnt of I'd lose customers and money. The point is alot of these dogs would continue in this condition if not for free grooms. So if they fear reporting the dog will never be looked after at the groomers at all being a worse situation for more dogs. It's not about losing money but the potential to help other dogs
Keep a stock of Vicks vaporub. When you get a dog that smells that bad, just rub a bit on the space under your nose. It'll help cut the smell without impairing your work.
Coroners use this trick when handling decaying bodies.

You never told him he is a good boy! I would say if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! This poor old dog had no choice about his coat and fleas! He was neglected but being her age she probably can't afford grooming and someone else may be paying after seeing the shape he is in. Be sure to tell them if money is preventing them from getting him clean you will do it for nothing for the dog to stay clean. Her other dog has to have fleas too! Guide them to a good flea prevention. Drops or good collars. I use Soresto collars for mine. They are great! I'm halfway through and the only reassuring words you've said are, "Your Okay." Please talk sweetly to the animals! This one is old and sick. You're freezing him too. Be nicer! It costs you nothing extra. You must have something to spray on him for the smell. Sorry to be so critical of your behavior. I was a vet tech and had to shave many dirty stinky flea infested animals. Cats and dogs! If you don't want to be criticized don't put videos on You Tube!
I remember this one...I really think they knew it needed a Vet, but were too ashamed to take it in so obviously neglected.
Yeah there’s no way that poor little girl is still alive, unless she was re homed immediately and had intensive medical treatment. My guess is she passed within a few weeks of this video 💔

@@DawnMARKCUM-vn7gt there are organisations everywhere (definitely in the US & definitely in the UK) who will take a dog for you if you can’t afford to keep it in a healthy condition, or at least provide the dog with essential medicines & grooms for free. That’s what Marybeth’s free grooms were all about. In fact most of these grooming channels do free grooms for dogs who are in desperate need but the owners can’t or just don’t want to spend money on grooming.
Crazy get this dog half way clean and it has to go back where it came from flea infested house an Lord only knows what else.

Please talk to the owner about better care. Surely they love the dog. I had a precious dog and had to find another caregiver and it breaks my heart! I miss her terribly. Bathing and wetting a dog are two different things. You wet the dog twice with soap. I did not see any bathing. You need to use your hands and rub the soap in. Otherwise, I really do feel bad for this dog. God bless.

Eye contact and soft kind words/voice don’t require hugs. The thing is, I’ve heard dogs are very sensitive to the moods of those around them. If you are upset or angry, they will automatically think you’re mad at them and feel worse. You really have to try to suppress your own emotions, so as not to adversely affect them. We did on one of our dogs…at the tail like she was showing. We have 3 dogs. He was the only one having flea problems but we took care of it…and him as soon as we discovered it. And our dogs have never smelled bad…EVER!

My mom declined drastically between 70 and 75. It might also be a financial problem. Senior citizens have a VERY difficult time making it and love their dogs even if it doesn’t appear so. This is someone who is TRYING!!! Give them a break. You don’t know their situation. You don’t even know how long they have had the dogs! Maybe it’s been a day and they are getting them groomed! Don’t ASSUME until you hear the whole story
She said the owner is 75 and disabled. Key word, disabled. So IMO- Disabled seniors generally have a caregiver and considering the very poor shape this poor dog was in, the home must be a nightmare. If this owner doesn't have a caregiver I would hope this would be reported to Senior and Disabled Services. Then there's the problem of Case Workers being piled up with so many clients that it's impossible to manage properly. So therein lies the problem. We as a society really need to do better! I volunteer my time whenever I see a problem like this and get people on the right track. Maybe if more of us put in a bit of time instead of criticizing and degrading we wouldn't see so much of this. This is a societal problem. Just my opinion. Think about it...

This one made me cry. 2 years ago, my 18 1/2 year old Shih tzu was put down. She looked so much like this puppy. I had plans for the vet visit, but my friend and landowner was killed in a head on wreck. I felt such grief I could not lose my Emmy too. I did wait about 3 weeks, so she was in really bad condition. No fleas and no mats, but the weakness, thinness, blind and deaf, and just lost. I could not make her suffer any longer just because I was in pain. Hardest thing I have ever done. Felt like my whole world was gone. There is always a back story. No room for judgement. we never know what may happen in our future. She may be cleaning this baby before she says her last good bye. I put my Emmy through a groom for that reason. I do my own grooming. Fortunately, we had the luxury of doing it in short spells. No excuse for the fleas, but I understand the slowness for a groom. Do not agree, but understand. I am 70 and very physically disabled, limited income. It is hard. Love can be hard.
I was a groomer before I retired. I groomed many dogs like this. This baby is being so good while the groomer cranks his legs around and never has a sweet word for him. He probably has bad arthritis plus the other problems with his ears, yet he doesn't complain while he lies there freezing from being wet. Why not put a towel over him so that he's warm while this girl complains about his odor, fleas and mats. He can't help it. Why not make it a nice day for him. You won't see him again for a year if he lives that long.

Wrong, she even made a pillow for his head, patted him and asked if he was OK. That was a very very difficult groom. I am not sure you could have done any better!
It looks to me that she could have been a lot more gentle during the bath...its almost as if she is mad at the poor dog because he's in such bad shape. Hopefully the rest of the process will be done in a kinder way. Poor baby...
@@FirstReviewsMomyou know that fur babies pick up on tones correct? You also never know an animal’s full story. Just patting it a few times and giving it a pillow doesn’t make everything else that was done incorrectly okay. I showed this to 3 different top groomers that I personally know and one started crying from the mistreatment of this baby. She is taking all her anger out on the baby while she is talking about the owner. They have all dealt with dogs that have been as bad or worse than this and at least 1-4 times a week they deal with babies that have been sprayed by skunks.

This practically a medical procedure I feel like the kindest thing to do is get the cut done as quick as possible, shes gentle the whole time , the dogs not going to stop being scared so wasting time to comfort, it would just prolong. Think about it would you want a doctor to stop in the middle of a procedure for you to wait until your not scared anymore to continue or just have be done as fast as possible.
I think some people on here are over exaggerating the circumstances in this video. I don't see this groomer being mean, or abusive to the dog. She is trying to get it taken care of as quickly as possible, so her business doesn't get a flea infestation, help the dog get some relief and feel better, plus time is money. They can't afford to spend hours and hours on one animal at a time. All things considered, it went well. I can understand her frustration and commenting on the smell. The dog may have an infection from flea bites and thick matted hair. Some people have weak stomachs. Plus, be reasonable, she is narrating in her own video to give you her own perspective of what it is like in that particular situation. Describing all the senses. They don't have scratch and sniff videos yet! The little dog is being sooo good! It did deserve a bandanna. It was well behaved, no reason not to. That was a little selfish I have to admit, when hearing that comment. It would have cost only a few cents. The dog certainly didn't ask to be abused and be treated and cared for that way. Please don't take it out on the poor animals. I don't think you intentionally meant for it to come across that way. I get it, I wouldn't be happy either seeing the poor animal that way. Patience is a virtue. If you are going to be a groomer, unfortunately, sometimes there are going to be situations like this that require more patients, and understanding. Especially if you are going to publish videos. People will be more likely to use your services when they see you treat all animals with tender loving care. Their pets are their babies. They want to know they are in good hands. These animals that have been neglected, abused or abandoned, even more so, deserve the extra love and attention that they obviously aren't getting elsewhere.
*** TIP for anyone dealing with a flea infestation. I did this for someone I knew a few years ago that had fleas real bad, and had tried to get rid of them in their home and on their dog, but we're not having any luck. Use PURE PEPPERMINT OIL used for food. I always get the tiny Loraine bottles. They have always worked. I know people have tried different brands and aromatherapy versions and they don't get the same results as what I use. (The Lorain oils are used in foods, to make things like hard candy.) Make sure it is the PEPPERMINT flavor. Other flavors won't work. Some stores keep their Lorain oils behind the counter in their pharmacy dept. Don't get the artificial kind or the extract kind. Extract is not pure oil, it is a weak version and will not work. It has to be pure peppermint oil for it to work. The bottles are about the size of your thumb. Very concentrated. They are about $1.25 each. I usually buy it by the case (12 bottles at a time) and keep it on hand. Take two bottles and pour into a 16 -20 oz. spray bottle. Fill with tap water. Shake well, before and during use. Spray the dog all over with the solution. *(Keep out of eyes.) If the dog has a really bad case of fleas, spray the dog 2-3 times a day, until fleas disappear. When I did it,l was housing sitting for this person. I even sprayed my pant legs and shoes so they wouldn't jump on me. The fleas disappeared in about 2 to 3 days. Then once a week spray the dog to keep fleas from coming back. This is so much better than all the toxic chemicals used! Also, at the same time, after spraying the dog, take the same spray bottle and thoroughly go around the entire house, spraying floors, furniture, beds, closets, everywhere!!! Be sure to spray under the furniture. Again spray 2 to 3 times a day, until the fleas all disappear. Spray around your door entrances, windows, vehicles if fleas are there, kennels, pet beds, pet clothing, etc. Then take several cotton balls and soak with peppermint oil. Place cotton balls under furniture, in closets, rub cotton balls with oil and rub all along the inside of door frames, windows. Place soaked cotton balls in cabinets, dressers, closets and leave one in each trash can, placing between the can and bag. If you are concerned about the oil on soaked cotton ball being left, place on top of a small bottle cap or other small lid or container (just don't enclose it). I read an article about this several years ago. This will not only cure your flea problems, but will keep any bugs out of your home, and even small rodents. You won't see spiders, silver fish, roaches, fleas, bed bugs, house flies, nats, etc. Again, all chemical free, no harsh chemical smells, smells good, safe for pets and children. The only thing I read was, to not to put on cats, but you can put around the home and spray diluted directly on dogs. Then after you get whatever problem you have under control, just go around and refresh with new peppermint oil once or twice a month. I have never seen spiders, flies or any insects since I started using Lorain peppermint oil. I wish I had known about it years earlier when I had dogs. Fleas have been around for millions of years and one of the hardest insects to get rid of. Good luck!

As for myself, I will give the owner the benefit of the doubt. I had an elderly grandfather who was also disabled. He couldn't even get out of bed and walk under his own strength without being held under the arms or taken by bed to a hospital.

She said in an earlier video that reporting would mean losing a client. That is irresponsible. Don't just take their money help them help their dog. I feel the same as you, my opinion of this groomer is that she’s not the most patient.. and she doesn’t interact with her little clients very much to soothe their fear either. The reason I can’t view her videos anymore, this one just started in a line of other vids chosen for me. Sorry if other ppl don’t like it but I’m entitled to my opinion. It’s not the dogs fault that it was neglected.

Other than the groomer, what makes you think that little dog hasn’t had hugs and love? Senior have nothing but their dogs sometimes and they do the best they can. Is not always enough but if they didn’t care about the dog, they wouldn’t get it groomed OR take it to the vet. You may be trying to take away the one (or two) things that is keeping this owner alive. Don’t judge other people until you walk in their footsteps.

Poor dog.I had a Cocker and they are notorious for ear infections. That where the smell is coming from. He needs a Vet now! He must be in so much pain.

Unfortunately the house will be absolutely infested and littered with fleas and flea eggs EVERYWHERE! 1 flea will lay an average of 20-50 eggs a day and there were many, many fleas on that dog not to mention another dog for sure and possibly other animals living in the home that will all have fleas. That home will be absolutely seriously infested.

a bandanna would be nothing but a flea magnet in this case. unfortunately, the poor dog may have left the shop relatively clean but would be re-infested shortly after returning home, unless the owner was able to completely eradicate and maintain a flea-free home environment AND give all pets within the home regular flea + tick treatment, which seems highly unlikely given the circumstances. not getting a bandanna is the least of this poor dog's problems. hope that helps explain it.
The saddest thing to me is that this old dog could still be having a comfortable and happy life even blind or deaf if it was properly taken care of. Disabled or not this is horrendous and to think they have ANOTHER dog.
Maybe you can reach out to this owner and offer to do the 2nd dog for free. You know its suffering as well. Disabled and 72…. He’s probably living on a fixed income which is why he’s not grooming them regularly. This was a hard one to watch 😢

For folks who haven’t seen this before & are suggesting reporting the owner & bringing in a vet, this is a re-upload of a video that’s at least a couple of years old. I’d be *very* surprised if this poor little girl is still alive now. She wouldn’t have lasted more than another couple of weeks in that condition - she’d have already been anaemic at that time from such a massive flea infestation & you can see she hadn’t the energy to hold herself up for long. Bless her, the sweet lil thing.

Do you put any flea treatment drops on him/give him a tablet which last for three months?
One more thing, did you inform the owner to ensure the dog is on a clean bed after the groom? What if he just places the poor sweetheart back in whatever kennel/bed situation he has had the dog in without doing a clean up there? Fleas will appear again and the stench will return and that effort might be for nothing. Hate to think the poor dog has to sleep in a shitty smelling bed after a clean up.
You need to report this. A loving family would help the poor little dog who needs love and attention. Is that possible? They may not feed him either. If you care about that helpless little guy you will report them. Is he asleep? If he’s hungry will you feed him and give him water? I appreciate you doing this for this precious little dog. What about the fleas back at its home?? Can you give or recommend something so that this poor baby does not get reinfested as soon as it walks into its house?? This bath actually has to feel really good. You made me cry when you said you would put this poor puppy down if it was yours. I just lost the love of my life 8 months ago and I would change his diapers if I could have him back. And the owners age has no bearing on its care. I am so glad you cleaned out the ears. Poor thing actually leaned into your cleaning its ears. It is thin because the fleas are sucking all the life out of it. Such a good puppy. Just now needs to be loved and fed and kept clean AND FLEA FREE. But you have no control once it leaves your hands.
I would NEVER recommend your services to ANYBODY! If this is the way you treat paying customers animals, I can only imagine what you do to the homeless animals. ONCE you touched that poor dog and said “It’s okay” but you NEVER gave her any comfort whatsoever. You said yourself she was old and blind and you just threw her in a metal tub and started spraying her with what had to feel like a fire hose! And when you sprayed her ears, you probably caused her to have permanent tinnitus! I think it was a free groom. So should have been done with kindness and love just like any other groom. But she is the same with others I’ve seen. No love or compassion.

I dont know, severe neglect is really abuse. And theres really no excuse for it, i dont care how old you are if your dog is suffering because of your age, something needs to happen. There has to be cases where you do need to say something to somebody... maybe not to have the dogs removed, but possibly someone who can help them get the resources they need. There SHOULD be some kind of government assistance program or something like that to help make sure people can afford vet visits, spay/neuter, and feed their dogs well. We have it for people, dogs are special, they are family and they're worth it. Not judging you, I can see how concerned you were for this poor baby...
Actually there are programs for people that are on assistance to get help with their animals.
At first seeing this dog made cry because of how neglected it was. Then it made me angry. If the owner is able to drive the poor dog to you then he could have taken the poor baby to the vet to get flea medication. I am sure he could have worked some kind of payment plan there. All those fleas were sucking the life out of the dog.I have never seen a dog with many that many fleas on it. It was cruel.
