    Dr. G's diet has mirculously healed my Mom and my aunt's lichen planus, a serious autoimmune disease. I consistently read different books from renowned nutritionist all the time, but no one can compete with Dr. G. May God bless this phenomenal human.

    I was using the best Ceylon cinnamon, and I was using a lot, probably a tablespoon at a time in my protein shake for a few weeks. Well, suddenly from out of nowhere, I get a very bad UTI type of thing. I never get those. After wracking my brain trying to figure out where this came from, I am convinced the culprit was the oxalates in the cinnamon and possibly the tannins, which I am sensitive to. I stopped the cinnamon and self-treated the UTI, and it cleared up in a week. I should say that I'm not sure if it was an actual infection or just an irritation, but it was bleeding and hurt like hell!! Watch out for high oxalate foods, they cause many problems you would never imagine!

    Allulose is made from corn, breaks it down to starch and fructose, then converts fructose into allulose via an enzymatic conversion process using enzimes from a genetically engineered microbe. The corn is genetically modified corn. Allulose is not approved in Canada or European Union as it has limited history of use in food. Why would a heath conscious person want to use an artificially produced product?

    • @RingoBudha
      @RingoBudha 2 місяці тому +3

      Allulose is also a natural sugar that comes from Wheat, figs, and molasses. It depends on the product you purchase. The quality products will state "Molasses" and Non-GMO.

    Great episode, Dr Gundry! Question regarding your previous comments on turmeric and black pepper: If most of the mechanisms of action occur in the gut, would it not be better to consume _without_ black pepper to ensure it doesn't get absorbed in the stomach but instead makes its way to the gut microbiome. Thanks!

    I tried allulose and after one tsp. in my drink I thought my intestines were going to come out. Spent all day on the toilet. Didn't use it for a few days and everything was normal. Tried it again and same effect. My body will not tolerate it. I now use it if I have constipation but only about 1/4 tsp. The effect is that dramatic.

    Dear Dr. Gundry: I recently bought 3 bags of frozen okra as you reported to us the benefit of roasting it and eating that for a variety of reasons but most importantly it puts a mucosa or covering on our gut walls to help protect it in general and to some degree lectins. But just yesterday I found out okra is one of the foods highest in Oxalates like one of the top 3 like it has a ton of them. Do you think this still makes okra a good trade off? I also read this is true of spinach also and cooking it actually almost doubles the amount of available oxalates. I’m confused about this cause I believed cooking spinach and kale significantly lowers the amount of oxalates. Can u please clear these issues up for me?

    • @lvkd4072
      @lvkd4072 Рік тому +5

      I'm not sure about the oxylate content in okra but one way to get the benefits is to cut one piece of okra lengthwise and soak it in a glass of water overnight and drink the water the next day- all the mucus from the okra goes in the water and when you drink that it coats your stomach.

      You can eat food with calcium to balance the oxalate, drink plenty of water, lemon & citrus help to remove oxalates, even coffee helps to remove oxalates, I don't eat spinach, and kale, better moringa, arugula, water cress and dandelion. I eat sesame seeds and too much okra too, and sesame seeds is high in oxalates, but the benefits of sesame seeds is so good, for the joint, removed radiation from your body, for the brain and so more....My Mom gallstone was gone due to Milk Thistle and artichoke is almost the same as milk thistle...so you have a lot of solution for oxalate...(I think cooking lessen the oxalates, we eat okra for so many years and nothing happen....(Kale absorbs thallium in the soil - spinach - calcium in spinach is not absorbable by the body due to too much oxalate..
