Y&T was awesome! If you got to grow up anytime in the 50's through the 90's with all the golden classic cars, movies, music & concerts of the greatest era in pop culture, YOU were VERY blessed!🎸
I remember attending this concert in San Francisco in 1985. The crowd that night was off the charts. I can see myself in the crowd at the 1:49 mark for about a second. The 35 years younger version. I know this entire concert was filmed for MTV. Lita Ford and Twisted Sister opened the show. I do miss the 80’s rock. Most of the rock today is unlistenable. Y&T is still on of my favorite bands still today. Dave Meniketti is so underrated. His vocals and guitar playing is top notch and he is a rare talent!!!
I was at the next show in Bakersfield. Went a Twisted Sister fan left a life long Y&T fan. Y&T absolutely BLEW TS away and they opened after Lita. I do believe they headlined the Cow Palace though because that’s the ❤of their fan base. I don’t think TS was well received heard the battery story lol
God i miss the 80s..where are my metal- heads..the hard core ones that bought every rag..each album of our favorite bands and every often a treasure is discovered and for me Y and T were definitely one of those bands that got my attention and still holds a special place in my heart.

I don't understand. These guys have some of the catchiest choruses ever, great infectious riffs ,they've got chops, and a sense of humour too. How come they're not huge? No justice in life indeed.
OMG, that Night Flight graphic flooded me with memories from staying up late Friday nights, back in 1983..... Man, life was just more..... fulfilling back then. Back then, we engaged in life. Today, we engage in media. Its tragic.
All in all, Y&T:s In Rock We Trust is still one of my all time favorite albums, you just have to love it till the last day. Pure class from start to finish ! Have to admit, I´like Contagious and Ten as much, that was my Y&T era.
I remember back in January 1984 I graduated early from High School. Started working for Kruger and Sons Pickle/Relish Company. Y&T practiced for this album, "In Rock We Trust." They released it in August 1984. Listened to all their songs. I literally worked next door at Kruger and Sons Pickle on Saklan Road in Hayward, CA. They played so loud we couldn't hear the person on the other end of the phone. They played in a metal thin building that looked more like a shack. At 18 years old I was too shy to go over and ask if I could sit and listen. My boss and him, the road manager, I think he was, got into an argument about the noise. I loved it. 😊😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😂
We listen to this in the 80s. My brother in law use to take my sister and I to school in the morning! On a cassette recorded from all his albums! We heard this one every morning on his alpine stereo and booster! Pulled up in his 1979 black cutless ! All our hair teased up with hairspray! Hahahaha
I always loved them. Blues rock with great lyrics. We got to open for them once in Texas. I was walking back stage when Dave Meniketti walked past. I stopped and said "Hey your Dave Meniketti! That kicks ass!" He stopped and replied "I am Dave Meniketti. And it does kick ass!" lol he was so cool took photos with us and totally rocked the hell out of that show.

Unbelievable that I had never seen this video until today at age 51. That gives you an idea of how below the radar these guys were in Toronto, Canada where I grew up. Of course I knew “meanstreak” and “summer time girls” and a few others. Why they never made it to Mega stardom I couldn’t figure out. Great sound and Dave M on vocals can compete with any of the bands of the 80’s. Y and T’ s name might have had something to do with it. I’ve heard DJ s back then refer to them as “yesterday and today” others as Y and T. They were not really in regular rotation in Toronto so I’m thinking name marketing effed them in the A. This is one of the best (if not the best) line up of Y&T and the label made them fire the drummer for being fat! WTF?! Y&T never caught the break they deserved, such a killer band with an amazing sound. Love them.
Although their material took a sharp decline in quality and inspiration after the Meanstreak album, I'd still rather hear this ( back in the day ) than marble-mouth Eddie Vedder moaning about how his daddy didn't give affection... LOL

I've been kicked, I've been hit
I've been scratched, I've been bit
I've been pushed around, shoved around
Had it rough but it ain't enough
'Cause I never knew an angel could be so wild
I never felt love till I tried your style
Lipstick and leather
Black and red, oh yeah
Lipstick and leather
Rock and roll, baby
Made a mess of my head
I've been slapped, I've been blamed
I've been attacked and I've been chained
Yeah, you put me down, slapped me 'round
Long enough but love is tough
'Cause you're ready, willing, able to please
Somebody tell me why I'm down on my knees
I said, this must be love or I'm going insane
There's such a thin, thin line between pleasure and pain
Lipstick and leather
Black and red, oh yeah
Lipstick and leather
Black and red
The girl gets around
Red lips like a traffic light
But when the girl gets down
Leather love's gonna burn all night
Oh, lipstick and leather
Black and red, oh yeah
Lipstick and leather
Black and red
I've been kicked, I've been hit
(Lipstick and leather)
I've been scratched and I've been bit
You can knock me down, I'm gonna get back up
(Lipstick and leather)
Yeah, I had it all but it ain't enough
I've been scratched
(Lipstick and leather)
I've been attacked and chained
Driven down on my knees
And I'm goin' insane
Over lipstick and leather
Black and red
'Cause that rock 'n' roll, baby
Made a mess of my head
With your lipstick and leather
Black and red, oh yeah
But your lipstick and leather
Black and red, oh
Lipstick and leather
