I am a carpenter and have been using the 16 gauge Ryobi for 2 years and love it ,powerful, never jams, and huge warranty and no dragging hoses around 👍👍👍👍👍
I like the sound of it when it fires!!
Im glad
You showed us here in a bit.
I love the 18 gauge brad nailer and I been using the brushless line for my needs they have the power to get me through the day
Thanks for the review.
Great Video, and entertaining Godfather bit! Appreciate the through testing and review. Enjoying your content.
We have been using the 18g for shoe molding for 2 years and it works great. No problems at all. I just bought the 15g because the price can’t be beat. Got the store display for 139. I wanted the dewalt but for 139 I will stay with the ryobi trim nailers.
Just purchased one. I’m crossing my fingers it works great.
You will really like it H
Nice nailer, another Ryobi win👍
Definitely bro!👊
Over the time I switched most of my Ryobi tools for Milwaukee as I got more serious with my work, but the nailers are the one thing that I've never had the need to upgrade. I can't justify spending two or three times as much for something that's only slightly faster since the Ryobis haven't failed me.
Yet another example of former Ryobi user switching to Milwaukee. MYSELF INCLUDED. I've noticed that people that start off with Ryobi go both ways, either they buy more Ryobi like they are possessed or switch gradualy to Milwaukee. Insteresting.
I've had mine about a year now and really like it. I do wish it had a depth adjuster, but it really is rare that it miss-fires leaving the "head" of the pin exposed. Paired with a couple of my 1.3AH batteries makes it so light to swing around and no air hose! Perfect for trim moulding use.
They are awesome love my air strikes!!! Great video, TRZ!
Thanks Sick! Yeah bro, great nailer for sure👊
What's up you crazy mallard!!!! :)
Amos Cardoza Hey Famous!!!
Im sold Thank you. I'm getting rid of all of my pneumatic tools .
You will never go back Frank👊
Man, I would've never thought of the Ryobi but after this video I'm definitely considering it. I like the edge guide too
Yeah though that was kinda cool, but I don't think I've ever heard one person say anything negative about their nailers Slams
@@ToolReviewZone BTW I just started following you on IG too
I've been using my 16g and 18g Ryobi nailers for over 8 yrs. The batteries are finally giving up on me after all this years. I'm heavily invested in Porter Cable tools, so, i have over a dozen of their batteries. I purchased and adapter from eBay where i can now use Porter Cable batteries on Ryobi--love it.
wow that's great about the adapter
Great video
I had the 18 guage for about 6 months or so. I got sick of it either not sinking the nail properly each time or just refusing to fire. It's supposed to be maintenance free but I had to keep oiling it. I know own 3 Hitachi nail guns. They work flawlessly every time.
I have the Ryobi crown stapler. Works great no complaints.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback toblox!
Thank you for the info bro 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼💪💪💪💪💪
Haha you got it JR👊👊👊
Ryobi nailers are so good they keep discontinuing models when review sites show they outperform Milwaukee - P330 we will remember you
Well I'm not the Godfather, I am a 62 year old female, and I will receive mine tomorrow, and am excited to use it. Thank you for your video, as it will help me!
Haha, thanks for the comment Christine
I have been using the 18 gauge brad nailer and the airstrike stapler they are great.
Thanks for the feedback brother. I'm going to head up this week and get a few more. Love this thing!
I buy one today I I looking to buy makita because the name but I see the ryobi reviews and I pick up one at home depot I used about 150 nails and is working nice nice
Why! Why are there not like 30k subs already?! I just don't understand. I think it's Lowe's fault. They are paying off YT!
Awesome video! I don't know anything about the air strike nailers, but I can tell you, my 23ga pin nailers don't have bump feed either. Not really gonna want to be bump feeding/sequential on small moulding where precision is key. I love it! Might have to grab myself one to play around with.
Thanks @Tool Review Zone! You're a beast!
Lol, its definitely a Lowes conspiracy bro!!! Thanks for the comment buddy 👊👊👊
Just bought the finish nailer things pretty impressive. I'm pretty much all Milwaukee but didn't need to spend that much money on a finish nailer as I only use it a little bit.
Ryobi did a great job on their nailers 👊
You are a total fool and I love it. Best reviews man keep em comin
Lol thanks bro Haha
That thing is the best tool Ryobi makes, ands down, better then the 23 gauge, and that’s a solid one too
Ryobi nailers are the best kept secret. I have the 18g and it's sweet. Getting the 16gauge this week.
Awesome. I am going to pick the finish nailer up. Probably Way better than that stinking Makita
@@ToolReviewZone did you get that ryobi finish nailer? have you made a video on it?
I just hit the like button with my ryobi nailer...
HAHAHA, awesome. Thanks Denver!
I've had the 18g for awhile and love it. It's my go-to nail gun simply because it's sooo convenient. You see the Ryobi being used all over the place. If you watch DIY/building type shows they always seem to have that gun. I want the pin version next.
Thanks for the feedback Gore!!!
Just some suggestions on reviewing - besides just firing nails one after another into the same material try different types of material: plywood, pine, hardwood, etc. I’m in the process of making some pieces with hardwood and want to know if a pin nailer is right for me. Do you have any uses in hardwood?
I need this
I’m a makita guy myself but I have the 18 gage that I been using for a while! never had a jam and now I recently purchased the pin nailer love them both!
Lol great video. I just bought th 18 g nail. It’s awaome
Why did you need both??
Is this nailer still holding up? Any/many jams or protruding pins over time? 😁🙏
would you recommend this for flooring 3/4 in slats?
Is it good enough for basement wall framing? For 2x4 stud framing.
That's a nice pin nailer. What sucks is I picked up the Hitachi Pneumatic Pin Nailer a few months ago for $79.00 so I don't need one, but I'd sure like to have one since I'm already in the Ryobi platform. The price point at HD for the Ryobi is $139.00 tool only and $188.00 with a 1.5Ah battery and charger. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Clint!.
Thanks for the comment William!!!
Cabinet / coffin. Either way it could come in handy. Lol. Sounds like it is ready to go faster than other nailers
Absolutely bro! Hey, if the Godfather like it, who am I to judge
I bought the AirStrike 18Ga brad nailer and the 18Ga stapler shortly after they came out and I praised them to no end. When the 18Ga pin nailer came out, I immediately bought one - big mistake. The first one I had would not completely sink the pins no matter what the wood. I exchanged it for another one and that one did not work right out of the box. The third one I now have will not sink pins flush with hardwoods unless you press down on the head of the gun, then the anvil leaves a dent in the wood. Even when pushing down on the head sometimes the pin is proud making it impossible to remove and nearly impossible to sink by hand without damaging the finish. I went back to using my 20+ year old Senco air pinner.
Thanks for the feedback pro!
I've used their brad nailer and it is actually pretty damn good.
Do u have any plans on testing the Milwaukee 1 3/4" sds max rotary hammer drills....I would like to see it put through the ringer before I drop a 1k on it. Thanks hoss....
I'll see what I can do bro
They should have called this nailer the MC5, cause it ‘kicks out the jams’. I’ve never had mine jam a nail on me yet.
21st lol😍😀 to hit the LIKE BUTTON. Great review, Thanks for taking the time and effort to help us all.I've been a sub for awhile now and I haven't noticed very many Ryobi reviews until this one and then some other options came up at the end of the video.😍😀I'm a DIYer at best, having to do my own home repairs out of necessity. I'm 64 and got my 1st combo kit last Christmas. Do you know if Ryobi has a Nailer combo kit? Either the 16ga or 18ga with the 23ga with a battery and charger? I'm really wanting a Framing Nailer !!! I live in a mobile home without a garage so I need to build a workshop. Did you say that your friend donated the nailer for you to review? or home depot? or you bought it? Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and videos, Rodney
P.S. I'm looking forward to seeing more Ryobi reviews, as a DIYer and being on a fixed income I can only get a tool 3 or 4 times a year. That's why I asked about the combo kit. Thanks again
Hi rodney!
I believe that the nailers do come with the battery and charger kits. William just left a comment with the price a few seconds ago. This was sent over by the home depot for us to check out, and thanks for the comment!
Im looking to buy one of those 23 gauge cordless pin nailer and saw this video. You might have just sold me into buying this. Thanks for sharing. One question though... after using it for couple of months now, how is it doing? No jams? No problems? Would appreciate hearing from you soon. Thanks!
I love it spratly. I just finished up a kitchen with it an worked perfectly every pull of the trigger 👊
@@ToolReviewZone Thank you for the quick reply. I just bought one earlier from HomeDepot. I love it too!
Nice! Can I use this for fencing and building a cage? I like using a lot of 2X4’s while building my cages.
This is a pin nailer buddy.. If you use glue then yes you can..
Am I missing it or do Ryobi not do a first fix nailer?
Great video! I am a beginner. Which tool should I buy first, Brad or Pin nailer? Can’t afford both.
Brad nailer is a super versatile tool for lots of woodworking projects. I would definitely pick that up first before a pin nailer.
Funny vid mate
Thanks bro 👊
Looking to buy one and found your video. You might as well seek a career in selling tools. I'd buy ice from you if I was an Eskimo! Great vid! Wondering if yinz from the 'burg?
Hahahaha, thanks J. Appreciate the comment brother lol. And yep, originally from Da Burgh
@@ToolReviewZone Just arrived at the west mifflin Home Depot. Had to drive all the way from Butler! Not one store within 50 miles had this in stock! And at least 5-10 day wait ordering online! Your review must have had something to do with the high demand, lol.
Dayuuum, that's a hell of a long wait bro. It's definitely a great nailer. I used to hang in Butler. Moved to Ohio, but still miss my old stomping grounds J👊
Hello from Russia !!! I want to order ryobi p318 on eBay - we don't sell one like this .. Tell me, is there a spare firing pin for sale? And how does it behave after a while?
I didn't know the Godfather said that about the Ryobi tool, but I might have forgotten, I saw this movie many many years ago.
Yes, its definitely in there lol
In your honest opinion, which is the best cordless nailer, cordless jigsaw and cordless orbital sander? I'm in the market for these..
This nailer looks sweet I heard nothing but good things as well!!
I've heard that the Ryobi Nailers are the best out there, and this reinforced it for me. I love the Milwaukee D handle Jig Saw and I absolutely love the Dewalt Cordless orbital sander. I know those are all different battery platforms, but those are my picks
@@ToolReviewZone thanks bro!! I think you sold me on this nailer. I'm already on the Milwaukee platform so that jigsaw will work well.. wasn't too sure about their sanders yet, appreciate the info bro..
@@A_roN88 any time bro
Nailer Ryobi or Dewalt. Ryobi are great and cheaper then Dewalt. I don't think Dewalt has a cordless pin nailer. I have not seen a Ryobi framing nailer. Haven't heard anything good about Milwaukee. I like my 18ga. Ryobi.
The random orbital sander is hands down Dewalt. Everyone seems to recommend them. I was hesitant about getting the cordless. Was surprise how long it lasted. Brushless made a huge difference on the sander!
The jigsaw I would recommend Milwaukee or Dewalt. I got the new brushless Dewalt D handle. A friend got the Milwaukee. We side by side them. I'm more DYI & woodworking. He is HVAC. I would say what ever platform of the two you have batteries in is the one you probably will find best. The little differences were the Milwaukee has dust collection. I wasn't impressed with it and though it was a pain in woodworking turns. Dewalt seam to have a better blower and a bit less deflection cutting. Again I would say price and what batteries you already have will pick it for you. As for D handle or body grip that's a personal preference. Try seeing if stores around you have displays to get the feel of.
Good luck with the tool hunt.
The Ryobi 18Ga brad nailer is very good, but the gen. 2 Milwaukee is much better. The Ryobi *_brushless_* jigsaw is very good and appears to be a clone of the Milwaukee and RIdgid. The Ryobi orbital sander is mediocre, almost any major brand is better.
I have found the metabo 23 gauge pin nails don’t work as well in the ryobi pin nailer. Not sure why. They don’t auto feed well in it. Used Dewalt or porter cable brands and you will have no issues.
This is my 4th video and I have yet to see this do any thick hardwood molding. At least this has a hardwood but it's easy. Can It shoot its full length into hardwood cabinets??
Yeah, I've used it. That said, the new Milwaukee pin nailer just came out and it's fantastic. Much smaller too
From experience with the brader, the smaller 1.3ah packs don't work too great with airstrike. Hoping it will go on sale soon. Kinda strange the pinner costs more than the brader.
Yeah that is kinda strange. Thanks for the feedback tensazero
It's that way with pretty well all of the name brand pin nailers. For some reason.
Can i use my regular 18v lipo ryobi batteries i have already with this?
Yep
Would this be good for door trim?
Yup. Used it to install mine in the new studio 👊
Got Ryobi 18ga. nailer. It is fantastic. It is far cheaper then Dewalt. Far better then Milwaukee.
Thanks for the info John!!!
Better than the first gen. Milwaukee yes, the new Milwaukee 18Ga is a far better nailer.
Pro1er It is much better, but over twice the price.
@@huejanus5505 See the above comment from John Ploucha to understand mine.
Buy it now! Kapish!
I have the 18 gauge is awesome. But I’m looking for a ryobi frame nailer anyone know of it exists?
No, but Ridgid is coming out withbone this year
I am a kitchen installer and this is the best nailgun they all break every 2 years anyways why not get the cheapest one?
It does have bump action and you didn’t mention the depth setting??
It doesn't have bump
Tool Review Zone it does according to Ryobi ua-cam.com/video/7Q4a5T4P4HM/v-deo.html
Have you found it yet?
@@darrenhurrell That's the 18gauge not the 23 gauge Darren mate 👍
Big fan of the 18 guage but this is junk I bought it thinking it would be good cause the 18 guage was but it won't sink nails through a piece of laminate leaves them sticking out 1/8 everytime. 12 v Milwaukee is only pin nailer I've used that will actually work great on everything I just have all Dewalt and a couple ryobi tools I didn't want to have to buy into Milwaukee also
Man I wish Ridgid would come out with this. They have the 18 gauge and 16 gauge, but no 23 gauge cordless nailer
They might soon bro. I'll reach out and see if they have any plans
@@ToolReviewZone Sweet! Thanks bro.... Btw..... You freaking know the Godfather too!?!?
@@michaelleas hahaha yeah bro. Darth and and I actually played football with him in college 💪💪💪
@@ToolReviewZone Lol!! 😂😂😂
Has the guy in the tux got lock jaw
5:50 who needs glue at this point :)
It really seems bad. Old school dual hex jam clearing instead of a clasp, no bump fire, just really low end looking across the board to me. Now, ryobi is the lowest of the 3 main lines coming out of TTI, and it makes sense that it's not like the ridgid gun (they only have one AFAIK, 18g brad only, everything else from them is pneumatic). I think it defintiely has a place in the craft room or the once-in-a-great-while people, but this thing, I am really glad I bought into the ridgid stuff, despite kind of wishing sometimes that I'd gone with milwaukee. I can be totally wrong, it's not like I've had it in my own hand. The plus to me is that it is compact, it's for 23g stuff, it's alright I guess. The compact is a huge plus. The cost would go up with any of the missing features. I think it would have been okay with a clasp for getting out jams, that would be the thing that made me skip it if I were a ryobi user, but then, if it was my only option and not wanting to invest into another battery line, then I would have to get it.
Lmfao at the godfather dont forget to scratch your chin my son
Can’t see any videos if going on skirting??
I will admit, ( I have used the airstrike finish nailer, not sure it was the the Brad nailer used HERE,but may well be, looks like it) these are decent, I probably ran about a 1000' of trim with it.
I honestly do not remember it jamming, or at least having to have to take it apart to clear it.
That said, it was decent, but it is NOT DeWalt/ Hitachi/ Metabo/Makita caliber (make no mistake)
It has a huge unbalanced feel about it, ( the Fisher Price color , that's 🍎 and oranges, I guess)
I do not feel it is a professional grade tool, ( maybe with some refinements, I don't think Ryobi is vying for the pro/ higher quality market) if they do an angled finish nailer I consider trying it also.
But these would not qualify as my go to tools.
The only thing I hate about these tools are the obnoxious color. Not a big deal if it works well and is cheap. I'm on the Dewalt system but I'm not about to spend 200 on a 18 gauge nailer. I'll use a hammer before I do that. I'm a hobbyist not a professional tradesman m
You will really like these
Very soft spoken velociraptor LOL
First?
Yes sir Anthony... FIRST!
Awesome, I’ve been wanting this pin nailer since I found out about it. I have the brad nailer and it works amazing.
Spend the extra money. Ryobi products are crap and homedepot doesnt honor your purchase.
I bought a power washer that after 6 months wont stay running.
I bought a cordless drill that after 3 months the battery completely doed.
I bought a plug in leaf blower that one 1 of the 2 speeds even functions.
You get what you pay for folks.
Agreed. Not a huge issue if you’re only using them once or twice a year. Any more than that, you’re far better off paying tge extra $$ for a better made tool.
Piece of junk had problems ever since i purchased it. Like all ryobi products cheap you get what you pay for. I just tossed mine in the trash had it for 2 years used 3 times .
Great vid....But I just can't bring myself to not buy a Yellow version !!!🤔
Unfortunately, yellow doesn't make a 23g pinner. I bought this gun (my only Ryobi) and a $30 battery adapter on line, so I can use my dewalt batteries on this gun.
@@jamessimon7292 Yawn
@TundraJockey, go fuck yourself then. I was trying to let you know that there's an easy option to use the Ryobi with your DeWalt batteries. Sorry if I bored you.
I'm a DeWALT guys. But good luck waiting on them bringing this to life. And if they ever do hope it's in the 12v family. Can't go wrong with Ryobi. Their tool line up is amazing.
