My favourite Justin Wong moment is when he was moving from New York to California, and somebody recorded and posted a video of him dropping off his leftover canned and non-perishable foods at the “gamer house” where his all of old training buddies and rivals were gathered. So, it is a documented fact that he has _literally_ fed the community. 😄
This warmed my heart man! Hearing Justin reflect on those awesome moments is really inspiring, especially the story about his grandma. I remember being put on to Justin by a high school friend of mine, who has since passed away. I remember hanging out with him and out of nowhere he was like "Man you gotta see this kid justin wong, he's a beast" He was a big fighting game fan and I'll never forget how enthusiastic he was when he was talking about Justin. I'm pretty sure this was like right after the Wong Factor so ever since then, anytime I see a Justin video pop up on my feed, I think about my buddy who is no longer with us and his enthusiasm for fighting games.
Having lived thru this, I’m Justin’s age, and from LA. Always team Daigo, but the respect level and just the gratitude i feel for how much Justin has given to us fans and casuals, he’s my favorite FGC content person by a mile, and the respect and humility he shows at this stage is really wonderful. We should all strive to present ourselves like Justin and give to the things we value.
I remember the east vs west civil war, it hurt me when Justin moved to the west as he was my fav coming out of the east. But in the long run it did good to kinda blur the line between east and west and help bring our country together. Now people don't say east or west they say NA
