The best part about being a newbie in fighting games is that you slowly start to learn how *INSANE* plays are the more you understand how they work. The more you become familiarized with the fundamentals, the more knowledgeable you get in FGs, the more cool things you end up realizing in these clips you're watching. You can legit go back and realize just how nutty shit really is and its great.

Controller is mainly preference. The input with the most advantage is leverless but again it's not enough of an advantage to matter in the long run. Always play what you're comfortable with.
yes when you spoke about FGC having character it reminds me of the battle rap community, although battle rap is more widely respected its still this small group around the world that live and breathe it and just like the public might say the FGC is weird, sweaty and stinky, battle rap also gets talked down as "rappers that never made it" yet you have characters with unique personality and lore.
I found FGC last week and i've been binge watching vids, its a cool community, what stood out to me was the diversity, being connected as people by one thing we love is always great to see i also love competitive trash talk that i know wont turn violent or deadly

Capcom cup is for lack of a better term the suoerbowl or world cup for Street fighter. Capcom cuo your placement in tournaments through out the year is how you qualify. In tekken 8 you can't demote until yellow ranks. You don't lose points for losing until yellow rank, so everyone makes it there.
Punk plays all characters to a high level but Cammy seems to match Punk the best in 6.. He like characters that are mobile and that have great wiff punish abilities. He mostly played Karen in 5 who has similar characteristics to Cammy in 6.

If you like trash talking and fgc characters you should watch "the brilliant fighting game community" videos by crowbat. Also adrian riven and doublelift are part of fgc :)
Punk didn't choke in Capcom cup against idom, he was beating idom pretty convincingly and idom switched to poison. A character that was brand new and hardly anyone had the match up knowledge to fight against poison who surprisingly idom played at a very high level. It was a deserving win and a hard felt lost but y no means a choke ppl just love to hate on punk cause he's arrogant and cocky but everyone can't be humble that's boring and unrealistic.
His fights are not very exciting, he wins because he is better but he is not daigo either.
