De-mystyfing this problem feels so great, and the end result seems to the best looking mushroom log forest ive seen yet. while also being fairly simple to set up. Hurrah
I am deeply impressed by your research, dedication, intelligence, and ability to break things down in a way that even a dummy (me) can understand. Thank you for this.
I really like how you explained it now! Great, simple and effective design too. ^^ And if you need some game code investigation for a future video I'm always glad to help.
im going on my knees and making a prayer that mystic trees will be changed to work like fruit trees and give back 1 seed guranteed on chop down so i can relocate like the 20 i made, bro i never realized how much of a pain crafting them is untill i ran out of seeds, and as it turns out i also have the least efficient setup too so im in even more pain now. like cmon bro they already take so long to grow atleast let us relocate them god please.
New to your channel - what you're doing here is so cool! Gold isn't usually my top priority (I like trying to get the community center as fast as possible and often end up losing interest in the late game) but I love optimizing setups and having lots of processed goods.
I filled my quarry with 127 mystic trees and tapped them all. (MYSTIC SYRUP sells for 1000 each.) I dropped 1 mushroom log between each tree leaving a path to collect. I collect the mushrooms every 4 days I am making nearly 600k a week from it. I am now filling the train station with them as well. I am getting mostly purple mushrooms I have not been bothering to dry them and still I am making that much. Maybe now I will though
So glad you made this video, I was really wondering about optimal setups and you're the only person to do it so far. I hope you keep up with the great content!
Thanks so much for this info! To add, Mystic trees increase the output of purple mushrooms. One of my saves is a mystic tree farm. Just restarted a new play through. Fun but painful. 😂
the day i discovered the best "health potion in large quantities" was special - just make cheese, Large Milk will produce gold quality Cheese (225 energy and 101 health), you don't need as much healing as from an elixir and it's much easier to do
I wish mystic trees would drop a sapling when you cut them down, they are SO difficult to make (somehow I never have enough tree seeds) and I really want to move mine but can’t 😭
I've only done like 6 magic trees, I'd say about 80-95% of the time I get regular to silver quality magic shrooms, the rest is random. I'm guessing if I increase the amount of trees I'll start getting irridium quality at some point.
Yeah, there's always a chance to get iridium as long as you have at least one tree, but it starts pretty low and goes up as you add more trees in range. Mossy trees increase that chance even more. We calculated about 1.6% chance for iridium if you have 10 trees in range. That jumps to 12.5% if all of those trees are mossy. Hopefully that helps!
@@Kitadollx I see, thanks, so does mossy trees just affect the quality and not what gets produced then? Actually when you say mossy trees, do you mean actual mossy trees or just trees that have moss on them?
Yep, the mossy trees just boost the quality. They are counted as double in the quality formulas. These are just regular trees with moss growing on them, not the special trees from the green rain event.
Unfortunately, they just count as a sort of generic tree, which means they will favor common mushrooms. I actually did this for a small part of my mushroom farm on my seeds-only playthrough to run them through the seed maker. Normally, it's kind of the worst case scenario for moneymaking, but you can definitely make a case for doing it for theme/aesthetics 😊 Thanks for watching!
Because of mushroom type and quality, mushroom logs can easily beat a tapped mushroom tree with a good tree setup around it. Unfortunately, mushroom trees don't encourage the rare/expensive mushroom from the logs, so they don't really work well together either, unless you're going for common mushrooms for some reason. Kind of sad, cause thematically, they make a ton of sense together. Thanks for watching!
Mystic trees are by far the best, but you won't get them until kind of later in the game. Pine is 2nd on the list for money, but oak is a close third, with the added benefit of getting oak resin from tappers. I would go with oak until you are happy with the number of kegs you have :)
Yep, I think all of the ones I showed should be able to be repeated infinitely. I didn't extend mine to cover the entire quarry, probably because of lack of mushroom log ingredients at the time, but the pattern could continue. There are also some tiles underneath the flooring that can't have seeds planted on them, so the pattern has to align with that too.
wow, saplings giving worse result is kinda shocking to me. was it intended by ConcernedApe? i wonder. thanks a lot for redoing it all over ❤ i will be trying out ur layout.
Although I wouldn't have guessed either way, it would make sense if this were intentional. Considering that old and 'undisturbed' mossy trees yield the best mushrooms, it makes sense that saplings are a detriment
gold is not my number one concern with mushroom logs actually. I just like to play the game. I use them for energy refills while I am fishing and chopping down trees in cindersap. I only have 4 mushroom logs on my farm i just wondered what you were on about with the title.
Me not totally letting my trees run wild with mushroom logs randomly scattered around. 😂
Nice!
totally valid approach
This is natures way
I feel seen 😂 idk what I'm doing lol

That would be SO good, tea bushes drop saplings when chopped down at any stage now and it’s so NICE to be able to move my leafy fences
I got super lucky. I happened to plant mine the day before a green rain, so when I woke up 6 out of 9 were full grown overnight.
God seeing these videos in my feed is such a treat, great insight!! ^~^

I just found your channel and am enjoying it so much! Love the math (and also how cute your farm is)
Always good to make an update!
I’m so happy to see more and more efficient plans for this. I just started a new game on a VERY small modded map so space is key!
I filled my quarry with 127 mystic trees and tapped them all. (MYSTIC SYRUP sells for 1000 each.) I dropped 1 mushroom log between each tree leaving a path to collect. I collect the mushrooms every 4 days I am making nearly 600k a week from it.

I find it hilarious that Demetrius had a typo in his letter he sent while mocking your unprofessionalism. "... Messed up all of you math."

The covering up of the quarry was very unsettling lol
I knew it! I knew the mushroom numbers I was seeing were off! Thank you!
With my tapper farm, mushroom logs are craaazzy op
maybe not optimal but make a straight line pattern so it's easy to navigate with all those trees haha
Thanks to you and your scientists! :) Love the maps.
For me, mushroom type so I can make life elixir is most important

I strongly prioritize health potions , so I focus on Morels and Chantarelle´s due to them being the rarest
the funny thing is that you get more health/energy by just selling them and buying salads lol
@@bobjoe258 But Salads do not restore health to full, I like my health be restored in one go
the video was especificaly what i needed
*Takes out pen and paper* ...go on

Can anyone tell me what the green stuff is that she puts on-top of the tree seeds? Is it a fertilizer?
Yep. That's tree fertilizer. You get the recipe at level 7 foraging. It's so helpful for speeding up common tree growth! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this!

@@Kitadollx Gotcha, thanks.
this is a great setup!! i use mushroom logs for an easy energy source instead of cheese or cooked items :3
Has anyone ever tried mushroom trees as the foundation? I'm genuinely curious, but don't have the time or scientists to allocate. 😅
Unfortunately, they just count as a sort of generic tree, which means they will favor common mushrooms. Well, dang, I was hoping for something more unique. Either way, thank you your research, and all you do!
What about mushroom logs vs mushroom tree tappers?
Because of mushroom type and quality, mushroom logs can easily beat a tapped mushroom tree with a good tree setup around it. Super cool info!
And here I was just putting a bunch of mushroom logs around a single tree... I really need to step up my mushroom harvesting game.
Any updates on this topic as of late?
Bella's got me covered?
Does tree type affect the mushrooms is pine the best, or can this also work with the fruit trees
Fruit trees do not affect the mushroom logs

What if you have automate mod
Is the final design stackable like one above another, i see yours in the quarry doesn't quite line up with the image
