Best ring for combination is lucky rings; I have two lucky rings combined with an iridium band and burglar ring, and it turns worst luck into best luck, and best luck into 3x best luck. It's INSANE, and you'll immediately notice things get impacted by your massive, passive luck buff.
the digsite river method is the way to go! go on a good luck day, buff your luck if you want (i didnt need to), spend the day there and pan every time it pops up. if you get it then youre set, and if not reset the day and use your luck doing something else

Powerful on the pickaxe actually allows you to break all the rocks with one swing, which is pretty nice. Even an iridium pickaxe can’t break them in one swing without it
@@Arixandrine i mean, by the time you get to ginger island and are enchanting you probably have a few stardrops and a good food source so i would say efficient is still pretty bad
Efficient is pretty much a useless buff in late or even mid game. If you haven't upgraded your energy bar several times and virtually endless access to good food at that point, you're doing it wrong. I actually resent it, because it's a useless enchantment that still appears randomly and makes me grind for more prismatic shards to get the enchantments I actually want. Probably because I pretty much hate the deeper skull caverns, it's just tedious - and you need to go there for halfway reliable prismatic shard farming. 😂
@@ropeburn6684 I would agree with the skull caverns being tedious, but honestly, going in with 60 to 80 staircases, (you can farm them using jade in a few crystalariums and going to the desert trader on Sundays) a bunch of mega bombs, (I usually just buy the components from Clint and krobus if I run out) and on a good luck day, definitely makes it much more bearable. Really the only way I can actually tolerate it lol
I like enchanting my pickaxe with efficient. It makes the the soul sapper ring useless for mines/skull cavern/volcano dungeon runs, and if you use vampire rings with weapons with the vamprific enchantment in addition to that, it will make qi's hungry challenge so much easier.
We all know the best reskin of the Infinity Blade is the Rusty Sword. The monsters see that rusty blade, laugh, and then turn to abject horror when you slice their friend right out of space-time itself.
I really like the option to change the appearance of your weapon. I took an Infinity Gavel (the best mace/club) and gave it the appearance of the wooden club. Now I can run around Ginger Island as a caveman with grass skirt, bone on my head and a super powerful wooden club 😄
Great video. Just a slight correction. You can buy the galaxy souls as well with radioactive bars at the island trader on some days. You also have a rare chance in the dangerous mines to get one too. Keep up the good work and hope you don't mind the amendment.
It seems you also have a chance to get them in the Hard Skull Caverns, the drop I got in the Dangerous Mines level 1 while farming for the Radioactive Ores for the end of the month trade felt around the same chance for a Prismatic Shard monster drop!
Slight correction on the powerful enchantment of the axe and pickaxe, they actually increase the power level (2 for axe and 1 for pickaxe), meaning you need less swings to destroy something, which makes them actually quite better than the swift enchantment if you already use animation canceling anyway.
I _loooove_ the ring combination feature. I typically roll with Iridium+Lucky and Burglar+Lucky for better drops from basically everything. Combine that with a Generous Hoe and Qi-seasoned Lucky Lunch, you can get stupid amounts of Omni Geodes from the island dig site. Or combine it with a Qi-seasoned Pumpkin Soup for crazy monster loot.
I used to combine vampire and soul sapper as he suggests in the video but as mentioned in the tool section, I've found that energy isn't really ever an issue in the mines by this point and if it is, I can eat something. Now I combine the vampire ring with the slime ring and that seems infinitely more useful! Slimes can't harm me but killing them can give me life?? Yes please!!
If you have stardew valley expanded, Sophia sells aged blue moon wine that gives you an insane +7 luck! That with iridium + lucky and burglar + lucky AND magic rock candy would be absolutely insane

Exactly. No one is weaponizing the pickaxe. Powerful on the pick is honestly OP for farming ore when you don’t want to blow through your bombs. Unless you’re good at that slingshot shit which i most definitely am not.

If so, then for things that take two hits, it would only take one. And in that case the reduction in time is 50%. But for things that take more hits such as iridium or radioactive nodes, then the decrease wouldn't be as substantial, right? I could boot up the game and try it out myself, but I'm too lazy. I hope you can provide a faster answer. I would appreciate it.
This is more of an appreciation comment but rings in SDV is one of if not the biggest reasons why I love combat the most in the game, it is simple yet very diverse, you can come up with a lot of combinations, almost like you have a gun loadout in Warzone or something. Here's 4 rings (basically 2 combined rings) I use in certain situations. Day-to-day: Iridium Band, Lucky Ring, Hot Java Ring, Burglar's Ring = really great loadout esp. for people that don't frequent the mines or SC but still want amazing effects. Gives you great lighting and magnetism, damage boost, luck, more loot, and since Coffee or TSE u get from killing monsters with Hot Java Ring already has a significantly high chance, you will never have to worry about slowing down ever again. Combat-specific: A. 2 Iridium Bands, 2 Ruby Rings = very cheap and easy loadout for a straightforwardly good effect, I haven't checked yet if the damage boost stacking is multiplicative (meaning 10% x 10% x 10% x 10%) or additive, but either way it's a load of damage, it defo gives you a lot of breather when dealing with the dangerous version of SC. B. Vampiric Ring, Soul Sapper Ring, Iridium Band, Warrior Ring (alternative: Thorns Ring) = This is really helpful if you don't wanna bring that much food into SC or dangerous Mines, since u gain health and energy back by killing monsters, and if you went with the Thorns Ring alternative, it can be hilarious to see monsters die from reflected pre-mitigation damage and u heal from it. C. Ring of Yoba, Crabshell Ring, Iridium Band, Sturdy Ring = This is more aimed for players who haven't grasped the combat system well yet and just want absolute protection (or just want to not worry about enemies at all so this can be mining-specific as well). Gives u good defense, debuffs are less effective against you (like the slimes' -4 Speed slow), and if u get knocked out, you revive for 50% hp once per day. D. Warrior Ring, Savage Ring, Iridium Band, any ring of choice (sometimes it's Ruby Ring for me but it's really up to your preference) = This loadout makes killing monsters give you the definition of an adrenaline junkie: a chance for you getting +10 Attack from the Warrior Ring, and +3 Speed from Savage Ring for a few seconds. Mining-specific: A. 2 Crabshell Rings, 2 Lucky Rings = if you don't care about using your pickaxe and just wanna bomb everything, this niche loadout can be effective. +10 Defense (and assuming u have Dragonscale Boots) will mean regular Bombs only deal 1 Damage to you, and 5 from Mega Bombs. Good luck finding an extra Lucky Ring, but once you do you probably won't need to use Pickaxes at the end game with this loadout. B. Slime Charmer Ring, Napalm Ring, Burglar's Ring, Lucky Ring = This is for when u wanna just get loads of loot, and the combination of Slime Charmer + Napalm Ring means you pretty much have moving Cherry Bombs, the Napalm Ring also makes Crusader a bit obsolete towards mummies so if you're going for this loadout, make sure you don't have the Crusader enchant on your main weapons. Miscellaneous and Pacifism: A. 2 Iridium Bands, 2 Glowstone Rings = Salmence already mentioned the absurd amount of light and magnetism with this loadout, but this is actually also useful for radioactive ore farming. Just head to floor 1 of the dangerous version of the Mines, use your slingshot with Explosive Ammo towards any Radioactive Node u find, and you don't even have to move from the ladder to get the Radioactive ore because of the immense magnetism, then just leave the floor and repeat. B. 2 Amethyst Rings, 2 Iridium Bands = If you just want the satisfaction of knocking the monsters away to the rings of Saturn, then enchant your weapons with a 3 Amethyst for more Weight, have this loadout, and once your weapon hits them, they will be knocked away so far that they go out of aggro range. There's a lot more possible combinations which, again, is the biggest reason why I love the combat mechanic so much.

@@lnlonelyness2801 the stardew wiki helped a lot for me when I got into the later game in terms of rings and combos that just made common sense, like the vampire and soul sapper being a common sense combo. For me the hardest part has just been trying to find certain rings, like no lucky rings, no napalm, no hot java, no savage, ive never gotten these among some others and I've had really good luck days and included buffs and still nothing! So I'm aggravated with that part.
Powerful actually makes your tools do their job quicker, not do more damage. thy get +1 or +2 power, and that can turn a 3 chop stump into a 1 chop stump, or instantly break any rock in the game, as far as I'm aware, so i would recomand it.
You said you cant really think of a use for the crusader enchantment, but its VERY useful for anyone going for perfection, you need to KILL 100 mummies, not just knock them out, you can use bombs but I find that to be much more of a hassle than just using this enchantment real fast.
@@theendofthestart8179 But I get the materials as I dive.... Gold isn't as useful as Iron and Copper, and if you're killing mummies and serpents, you get plenty of solar and void essence. Saves a ton of gold, since you no longer have to spend tens of thousands buying them.

I find that the Crusader perk on the sword is very useful for farming cloth from mummies. Cloth sells for decent money, is loved by Emily, and is necessary if you want to craft all the clothing items.
This! I feel like cloth is like one of the most overlooked money maker in the game. Monster musk + burglar ring combo, run the pyramid floor and you guys will see my point - crazy amount of clothes by the end of the day. Even without the musk, I can easily get 15~20 clothes each run on average. 600+ gold each with artisan profession is no joke.

as for enchantment, if you are a fan of sword, i would prefer crusader enchantment simply because it kill ghosts way faster (sometimes it's very time consuming to wait for them to come close to you after you hit them, also saves you plenty of time when you are farming for omni geodes), kills mummies way faster (yes you can use bomb to farm ores aswell but again, it's time consuming to wait for the bomb to blow). vampiric is a great enchantment by book but in my opinion if you don't have many foods (cheese for example) to fill your heart bar and you rely on the lifesteal, i wouldn't really recommend you to dive into mines on the first place
I love crusader too! I hate having to deal with mummies otherwise. Crusader sword + slime charmer ring means the only monsters in the skull cavern that do any damage are the serpents which is just fine in my book
On the topic of enchanting tools, it can be slightly controlled. I don't know if the pattern is based by the day or if auto generated via seed. If you don't like the enchant you get on a tool, restart the day and enchant another tool. It will reset all other tools to a different enchantment! Saves a lot of shards this way :>
Mouseypounds stardew predictor lets you see what you’ll get if you upload your save. I believe it’s based on the seed and then just advances once with every successive enchant. Day does not impact it
7:18 you say powerful adds damage when you hit an enemy, when what it does is it adds 2 "Power Levels" to an axe, letting you chop trees in less swings.
Usually this doesn't matter, as with an iridium axe, it will only reduce the hits on hardwood stumps from 3 to 2, and hardwood logs from 6 to 5, HOWEVER, not everyone has a fully upgraded axe, and getting powerful is the same as upgrading your tool.

Powerful enhantment on the Pickaxe can be good for the skull caverns. Remember, it increases the tool's effect on its respective resources, which, for the pickaxe, means rocks take less swings to be destroyed. The wiki confusingly labels this bonus as "more damage to ..." when it's.. not, exactly damage in the way most players think it is. Powerful on the axe is a little silly though, I agree there.
I personally like having a singular crusader weapon. Not as my main weapon, usually a spare sword or something, but I like having it just so I don't find myself cornered by mummies in the cavern. Also the fact that it does double damage to said mummies, whom tend to drop cloths on death along with the profession to increase artisan goods makes mummies a surprise quick money maker if you like combat.
Just wanted to say that I loved the video, even if some of my other comments are hostile, I love that you went out of your way to talk about the other uses of cinder shards even though they aren't really related to the forge, Huge props and obviously you care about this game and the community, very based.
Galaxy souls can also be obtained in the dangerous mines, or during the Danger in the Deep and Skull Cavern Invasion quests. They're rare dangerous monster drops, sometimes even in big slimes. Be aware that you also need to kill 50 dangerous monsters for being able to buy them in Qi's walnut room. However, that's more or less just a technicality. They're really rare drops, and just doing Qi quests for buying them is the more reliable and faster method by far.
Immunity is the chance you negate a status effect like being slowed from the slimes. Not how long it lasts. Also the cinderclown shoes and the immunity band will get you +9 (10 being max). I like the mermaid boots the most.
So powerful is acutally good. It doesnt just increase power but it also gives more damage to rocks. So example is the rocks in the volcano take 2 hits with an iridium picaxe but with powerful it will only take 1. Its pretty nice.
Powerful on the Pickaxe also makes it to where basically any rock except for Iridium and Gem rocks break in one hit. I kept that one for that reason, because having to hit all the rocks in the volcano twice really slows you down.

I had two crabshell rings and also a slime charmer ring that I used when there were a lot of slimes. Also, I had the combat mastery with a frog trinket. My frog took care of a lot of enemies.
My favorite ring combos: Savage+Vampire I don’t like to use too many healing items because guess what? Cheese is worth a lot of money. Also, +2 speed makes you feel extremely powerful. Slime Charmer+Napalm Like, half the damage I take in the caverns are from slimes. Also, rocks go boom. That’s really it.
Small correction here: Powerful add +1 power level to the tool, meaning that a fully upgraded Axe can chop a tree in 1 hit instead of 2 (pretty useless if you ask me); but gives the biggest improvement to the Pickaxe, a 24hp rock (volcano) would require 5 swings from a iridium pickaxe, would fall to 4 with powerful. A node that requires 8 swings would fall to 5~6, and so on. I think you made a table on the Mining video, just instead of dividing by 5 (iridium) you do it with 6.
My favorite set up ring wise so far is the following. Light + Magnet and Vampiric slot one, Phoenix Ring + Napalm Ring. Everything blows up, Everything heals you, explosions can chain, and you're not totally blind nor do you care much about how close you are to drops. I've gotten well past floor 300 with this set up.
I can't remember where I got this idea from (either Salmence or Floydson), but a possible use for Crusader would be putting it on a dagger and using its special attack to fight ghosts, drastically cutting down on the amount of times they are pushed away from the player.
3:55 I know I'm super late but here's a small correction ( In case anyone new, like me, is watching this video ); You can actually get Galaxy Souls in two other ways. 1. " After killing at least 50 Dangerous Monsters [1], Galaxy Souls can also be purchased from Island Trader on the last day of a season for Radioactive Bar.png Radioactive Bar (10). " - The Wiki And 2. They can actually be a dropped item when killing said dangerous monsters. I found this out myself through my own playthrough, and now I have 2 Galaxy Souls as a result. ( Both I've gotten from the Mines with the shrine on )
Crabshell ring is op, I wore two crabshell rings and my space boots and just walked to the end eating only one salad on my first volcano run. Each defense point means that monsters deal one point less damage. They’d have to land like a million more hits to kill you, with 4 out of 8 of the types of monsters doing only one damage per hit. That’s why, for mines/volcano/cavern, I just wear two crabshell+iridium combo rings if I want to speed run it (actually for mines this is overkill, burglar is better, unless you just don’t care and are mining out gold from floor 80 while ignoring the monsters).
Nah i LOVE the crusader enchantment. The mummy floors in the skull cavern used to be my worst nightmare, but now they're a breeze. Esp in combination with the napalm ring, since mummies swarm you reliably instead of circling/bouncing like serpents or ghosts, you can save up on bombs by just going to the rocks you want to break, get swarmed by mummies, slay them quickly so they explode, and get both monster loot and staircases+ ore quickly. Mummies are by far the best monster to utilize the napalm ring with imo, so crusader is S tier to me
The Crusader enchantment allowed me to finish my mummy monster slaying goals, i naturally just walk away from mummies in the caverns otherwise since theyre pretty slow
Crusader enchantment is pretty great for skull cavern. not as good as artful, but it's worth keeping if you dont have enough prismatic shards to keep rerolling Also... Powerful is in fact the best pickaxe enchantment! it gives the pickaxe +1 power which is equivalent to a blacksmith upgrade level allows you to break rocks in volcano dungeon in 1 hit instead of 2, and break iridium nodes in 3 hits instead of 4
5:33 I love the haymaker. When using it on fibre, it has a chance of dropping hay and a 100% chance of dropping fibre. I repeatedly go to lvl 81 of the mines and get 100s of fibre amd hay by the end of the day. Im trying to get all of ginger island and the greenhouse full of 100% retaining soil, so im runnomg low on fibre. I have 84 animals ( 4 coops and 3 barns ) so the good chance of hay is very useful. Edit It would be especially useful in winter.

I don't have a mushroom cave so I can put the mushrooms in a seed maker to get mixed seeds. On top of that, I have 12 rabbits 12 dinosaurs 12 void chickens 12 blue chickens 35 pigs 1 ostrich. Or 84 overall. And I'm on 4 corners and I'm trying to make my farm beautiful, so I'm only using 1corner for farming.
i have my iridium band combined with my lucky ring so i have all the glowing / magnet ups as well as extra luck !! and then i typically have my napalm and burglar ring combined since i mine all the time and its good for blowing up rocks in skull caverns :^)
For me the combine rings is Iridium band + lucky ring : a very good one, and if you have two it gonna make game far more easier, the only down side is lucky ring is very hard to find and very based on luck Hot java ring + bulgar ring : gave you insane amount coffee, again only downside hot java ring only found in chest on volcano mine
Bro, you're sleeping on the Crusader enchant. There's nothing else in the entire game that lets you kill mummies with such ease, and the bonus damage it gives to them and several other monster types is huge. Equipping two hot java rings (combined with a burglar ring and 1 other ring of your choosing such as lucky ring) with the crusader infinity hammer can yield some seriously nasty gold per day in the skull caverns. Cloth sells for 600g a pop and all the coffee you'll get sells for a huge amount as well.
Slightly correction on powerful enchantment on pickaxe is not for attacking, but decrease hit on node/rocks example with iridium pickaxe, you need to hit iridium node 4 times to break, with powerful enchantment you only need 3 times,
I think I ran Iridium Band + Lucky Ring, and Slime Rancher + Lucky Ring. All that luck is super nice, and I just love not having to worry about slime damage for skull cavern runs. I ran swift on the axe and pickaxe because you can tear through things quickly,. Then I ran reaching on the hoe and watering can so that at the start of the season I could immediately for iridium sprinklers. Fishing I went with the extra level.
Pretty sure powerful on the axe and pickaxe allows more than just more damage in combat, it makes it do more damage to trees/rocks when you cut it down/mine it. Honestly might be the best one for each.
powerfull enchantments dont just make them deal more damage, but add an additional power level to the tool. So things like breaking rocks and cutting trees take less swings. still not as good as the other options but not as bad as they seem initially.

I don't know why, but I really like to struggle in the game. I'll do the infinite galaxy sword as I always like to go mining. Once you actually get all the stuffs and reaching so much early in the game, it would be boring after that. I won't get the bottomless watering can, as I barely use them also. 😂 hopefully concernedape will still update this, esp there's forging involve. His name is so addicting I'll be sad if he doesn't want to update it anymore.
How can you not recommend Crusader?! Killing mummies with approx 2 strikes and no bombs and the time consuming ghosts with 2 strikes is a huge deal. They drop expensive cloth (658g with artisan perk) and have a great probability of spawning a hole or ladder. For me it is a no brainer. Especially with the napalm ring which lets monsters explode it is great for console players who can‘t really play with the slingshot.
Powerful pickaxe also works on rocks. The regular rocks in the volcano took 2 swings til i got to the forge and now its much easier for me to treasure hunt to level 5 on my trips to the island. Cant say if swift would actually improve that.

according to math and not just some youtubers gut, it 100% depends on the level 5 and 10 choices you made for leveling. BUT, if you are going for max DPS on the special ability, level 5 scout, giving you +50% chance for crit, you can can pick Acrobat at level 10, halving the cooldown on the special move, this stacks with the artful enchantment, resulting in a 75% cooldown reduction, which is fast enough to always keep serpents at bay in the skull caverns. when going for this build, its good to know that the special attack on a hammer CAN NOT crit, so 3 rubies would be best, since you arent trying to swing the hammer normally. But if you are just using the hammer like a sword, you may want to go with fighter at level 5, giving you 10% more damage, and then brute at level 10 giving you 15% more damage, in this case, you need to think about what you are trying to kill, as dealing more damage than the monster hp, is useless, 3 rubies will turn you galaxy hammer from 70-90 damage into 108-139, and having a base speed of 2 is usually enough. But if you are constantly in the volcano mine, or the difficult version of the regular mines, you can do 1 ruby, and emerald, and then another ruby in that order to get a hammer with 101-130 damage and 5 speed instead of 2. Keep in mind that the galaxy hammer and the infinty gavel both have a base weight of 5, and most enemies will be knocked back enough that the bonus attack speed is USELESS, with obvious exceptions such as the lava dragons, who are stationary always. Why did Salmence say 2 speed and one attack? I will probably never know.

I have combined Lucky Ring and Burglar Ring - best decision ever since more drops from Mobs. Also hates Slimes so bad so I combined my Iridium band with the Slime Charmer Ring so I am invincible with slime attacks.
I had accidentally got a Vampiric fishing pole. Don't remember why I even thought to put the fishing pole in to see what happened, but I did and kept it to say I have a vampire pole.
Best ring combinations - 1) Iridium band + slime charmer Burglar + savage 2) iridium band + slime charmer Iridium band + burglar 3) iridum band + aqua Burglar + aqua This is a special build which requires you to get either the dragontooth cutlass or the dragoontooth club. Innate enchante them to get the +50 or +75 crit. Forge them with 3 aqua to increase critical chance. You will literally one hit every single monster in the game including the longest royal serpent as long as you crit. With this build you will crit every 2-4 shots guarenteed. Lucky ring is extremely overrated. Its a good ring, just not good enough, there are better options.
vampiric definitely IS good, but it only gives a 9% CHANCE to heal for about 10% of the monsters health. that averages to about 1% of enemy health healed each time, which outperforms the vampire ring in late game since most enemies have more than 200 hp (the vampire ring heals a flat 2hp per kill)

Powerful on the pickaxe actually allows you to break all the rocks with one swing, which is pretty nice. Even an iridium pickaxe can’t break them in one swing without it
Also efficient on the pickaxe is kinda huge if you're not super late game, it's by far the tool that drains the most energy out of all of them
@@Arixandrine i mean, by the time you get to ginger island and are enchanting you probably have a few stardrops and a good food source so i would say efficient is still pretty bad
Efficient is pretty much a useless buff in late or even mid game. If you haven't upgraded your energy bar several times and virtually endless access to good food at that point, you're doing it wrong.
I actually resent it, because it's a useless enchantment that still appears randomly and makes me grind for more prismatic shards to get the enchantments I actually want. Probably because I pretty much hate the deeper skull caverns, it's just tedious - and you need to go there for halfway reliable prismatic shard farming. 😂
@@ropeburn6684 I would agree with the skull caverns being tedious, but honestly, going in with 60 to 80 staircases, (you can farm them using jade in a few crystalariums and going to the desert trader on Sundays) a bunch of mega bombs, (I usually just buy the components from Clint and krobus if I run out) and on a good luck day, definitely makes it much more bearable. Really the only way I can actually tolerate it lol
I like enchanting my pickaxe with efficient. It makes the the soul sapper ring useless for mines/skull cavern/volcano dungeon runs, and if you use vampire rings with weapons with the vamprific enchantment in addition to that, it will make qi's hungry challenge so much easier.

Great video. Just a slight correction. You can buy the galaxy souls as well with radioactive bars at the island trader on some days. You also have a rare chance in the dangerous mines to get one too. Keep up the good work and hope you don't mind the amendment.

It seems you also have a chance to get them in the Hard Skull Caverns, the drop I got in the Dangerous Mines level 1 while farming for the Radioactive Ores for the end of the month trade felt around the same chance for a Prismatic Shard monster drop!
Slight correction on the powerful enchantment of the axe and pickaxe, they actually increase the power level (2 for axe and 1 for pickaxe), meaning you need less swings to destroy something, which makes them actually quite better than the swift enchantment if you already use animation canceling anyway.

I _loooove_ the ring combination feature. I typically roll with Iridium+Lucky and Burglar+Lucky for better drops from basically everything. Combine that with a Generous Hoe and Qi-seasoned Lucky Lunch, you can get stupid amounts of Omni Geodes from the island dig site. Or combine it with a Qi-seasoned Pumpkin Soup for crazy monster loot.
i have iridium + lucky and then burglar + slime charmer, simply because not worrying about slimes is a very nice thing

I used to combine vampire and soul sapper as he suggests in the video but as mentioned in the tool section, I've found that energy isn't really ever an issue in the mines by this point and if it is, I can eat something. Now I combine the vampire ring with the slime ring and that seems infinitely more useful! Slimes can't harm me but killing them can give me life?? Yes please!!
If you have stardew valley expanded, Sophia sells aged blue moon wine that gives you an insane +7 luck! That with iridium + lucky and burglar + lucky AND magic rock candy would be absolutely insane

I'm so happy I found this! I was really sad because I combined my lucky ring with the glowstone ring before I realized that there was an iridium band and now I can unforge them and create a better combination. I hadn't realized unforging was an option.
I like the slime ring cuz I don’t wanna be attacked by slimes, they can deal a lot of damage if they are purple slimes or tiger slimes

Exactly. No one is weaponizing the pickaxe. Powerful on the pick is honestly OP for farming ore when you don’t want to blow through your bombs. Unless you’re good at that slingshot shit which i most definitely am not.
@@Teejayx3 According to the wiki, it increases the 'power' by one for the pickaxe. Is it really any good? I assume it means one less swing. If so, then for things that take two hits, it would only take one. And in that case the reduction in time is 50%. But for things that take more hits such as iridium or radioactive nodes, then the decrease wouldn't be as substantial, right? I could boot up the game and try it out myself, but I'm too lazy. I hope you can provide a faster answer. I would appreciate it.

This is more of an appreciation comment but rings in SDV is one of if not the biggest reasons why I love combat the most in the game, it is simple yet very diverse, you can come up with a lot of combinations, almost like you have a gun loadout in Warzone or something. Here's 4 rings (basically 2 combined rings) I use in certain situations.
Day-to-day: Iridium Band, Lucky Ring, Hot Java Ring, Burglar's Ring = really great loadout esp. for people that don't frequent the mines or SC but still want amazing effects. Gives you great lighting and magnetism, damage boost, luck, more loot, and since Coffee or TSE u get from killing monsters with Hot Java Ring already has a significantly high chance, you will never have to worry about slowing down ever again.
Combat-specific:
A. 2 Iridium Bands, 2 Ruby Rings = very cheap and easy loadout for a straightforwardly good effect, I haven't checked yet if the damage boost stacking is multiplicative (meaning 10% x 10% x 10% x 10%) or additive, but either way it's a load of damage, it defo gives you a lot of breather when dealing with the dangerous version of SC.
B. Vampiric Ring, Soul Sapper Ring, Iridium Band, Warrior Ring (alternative: Thorns Ring) = This is really helpful if you don't wanna bring that much food into SC or dangerous Mines, since u gain health and energy back by killing monsters, and if you went with the Thorns Ring alternative, it can be hilarious to see monsters die from reflected pre-mitigation damage and u heal from it.
C. Ring of Yoba, Crabshell Ring, Iridium Band, Sturdy Ring = This is more aimed for players who haven't grasped the combat system well yet and just want absolute protection (or just want to not worry about enemies at all so this can be mining-specific as well). Gives u good defense, debuffs are less effective against you (like the slimes' -4 Speed slow), and if u get knocked out, you revive for 50% hp once per day.
D. Warrior Ring, Savage Ring, Iridium Band, any ring of choice (sometimes it's Ruby Ring for me but it's really up to your preference) = This loadout makes killing monsters give you the definition of an adrenaline junkie: a chance for you getting +10 Attack from the Warrior Ring, and +3 Speed from Savage Ring for a few seconds.
Mining-specific:
A. 2 Crabshell Rings, 2 Lucky Rings = if you don't care about using your pickaxe and just wanna bomb everything, this niche loadout can be effective. +10 Defense (and assuming u have Dragonscale Boots) will mean regular Bombs only deal 1 Damage to you, and 5 from Mega Bombs. Good luck finding an extra Lucky Ring, but once you do you probably won't need to use Pickaxes at the end game with this loadout.
B. Slime Charmer Ring, Napalm Ring, Burglar's Ring, Lucky Ring = This is for when u wanna just get loads of loot, and the combination of Slime Charmer + Napalm Ring means you pretty much have moving Cherry Bombs, the Napalm Ring also makes Crusader a bit obsolete towards mummies so if you're going for this loadout, make sure you don't have the Crusader enchant on your main weapons.
Miscellaneous and Pacifism:
A. 2 Iridium Bands, 2 Glowstone Rings = Salmence already mentioned the absurd amount of light and magnetism with this loadout, but this is actually also useful for radioactive ore farming. Just head to floor 1 of the dangerous version of the Mines, use your slingshot with Explosive Ammo towards any Radioactive Node u find, and you don't even have to move from the ladder to get the Radioactive ore because of the immense magnetism, then just leave the floor and repeat.
B. 2 Amethyst Rings, 2 Iridium Bands = If you just want the satisfaction of knocking the monsters away to the rings of Saturn, then enchant your weapons with a 3 Amethyst for more Weight, have this loadout, and once your weapon hits them, they will be knocked away so far that they go out of aggro range.
There's a lot more possible combinations which, again, is the biggest reason why I love the combat mechanic so much.

@@lnlonelyness2801 the stardew wiki helped a lot for me when I got into the later game in terms of rings and combos that just made common sense, like the vampire and soul sapper being a common sense combo. For me the hardest part has just been trying to find certain rings, like no lucky rings, no napalm, no hot java, no savage, ive never gotten these among some others and I've had really good luck days and included buffs and still nothing! So I'm aggravated with that part.

Powerful actually makes your tools do their job quicker, not do more damage. thy get +1 or +2 power, and that can turn a 3 chop stump into a 1 chop stump, or instantly break any rock in the game, as far as I'm aware, so i would recomand it.
You said you cant really think of a use for the crusader enchantment, but its VERY useful for anyone going for perfection, you need to KILL 100 mummies, not just knock them out, you can use bombs but I find that to be much more of a hassle than just using this enchantment real fast.
I would say keep Crusader on a backup weapon for Skull Cavern runs to use on mummy floors.

Crusader is nice for more casual skull cavern dives, since it makes getting solar essence for mega bombs while in the cavern much easier.

But I get the materials as I dive.... Gold isn't as useful as Iron and Copper, and if you're killing mummies and serpents, you get plenty of solar and void essence. Saves a ton of gold, since you no longer have to spend tens of thousands buying them.

I find that the Crusader perk on the sword is very useful for farming cloth from mummies. Cloth sells for decent money, is loved by Emily, and is necessary if you want to craft all the clothing items.

I feel like cloth is like one of the most overlooked money maker in the game. Monster musk + burglar ring combo, run the pyramid floor and you guys will see my point - crazy amount of clothes by the end of the day. Even without the musk, I can easily get 15~20 clothes each run on average. 600+ gold each with artisan profession is no joke.
Just bring a slingshot with explosive rounds, no need to pass on a better enchantment like vampiric.

as for enchantment, if you are a fan of sword, i would prefer crusader enchantment simply because it kill ghosts way faster (sometimes it's very time consuming to wait for them to come close to you after you hit them, also saves you plenty of time when you are farming for omni geodes), kills mummies way faster (yes you can use bomb to farm ores aswell but again, it's time consuming to wait for the bomb to blow). vampiric is a great enchantment by book but in my opinion if you don't have many foods (cheese for example) to fill your heart bar and you rely on the lifesteal, i wouldn't really recommend you to dive into mines on the first place
I basically always go for crusader, at least until the mummy Adventurer's Guild quest is done. No way I'm wasting all my bombs on mummies!
I love crusader too! I hate having to deal with mummies otherwise. Crusader sword + slime charmer ring means the only monsters in the skull cavern that do any damage are the serpents which is just fine in my book

On the topic of enchanting tools, it can be slightly controlled. I don't know if the pattern is based by the day or if auto generated via seed. If you don't like the enchant you get on a tool, restart the day and enchant another tool. It will reset all other tools to a different enchantment! Saves a lot of shards this way :>

Mouseypounds stardew predictor lets you see what you’ll get if you upload your save. I believe it’s based on the seed and then just advances once with every successive enchant. Day does not impact it
the very first enchant i believe is guaranteed to be either crudader/vampiric, not 100% sure on this
I recommend Lucky Ring + Iridium Ring. +1 Luck is nothing to scoff at.
7:18 you say powerful adds damage when you hit an enemy, when what it does is it adds 2 "Power Levels" to an axe, letting you chop trees in less swings.
Usually this doesn't matter, as with an iridium axe, it will only reduce the hits on hardwood stumps from 3 to 2, and hardwood logs from 6 to 5, HOWEVER, not everyone has a fully upgraded axe, and getting powerful is the same as upgrading your tool.
Powerful works the same for a pickaxe :) so late game nodes like cindershards, iridium, and radioactive are going to take 1 less swing

Powerful enhantment on the Pickaxe can be good for the skull caverns.
Remember, it increases the tool's effect on its respective resources, which, for the pickaxe, means rocks take less swings to be destroyed. The wiki confusingly labels this bonus as "more damage to ..." when it's.. not, exactly damage in the way most players think it is.
Powerful on the axe is a little silly though, I agree there.
I personally like having a singular crusader weapon. Not as my main weapon, usually a spare sword or something, but I like having it just so I don't find myself cornered by mummies in the cavern. Also the fact that it does double damage to said mummies, whom tend to drop cloths on death along with the profession to increase artisan goods makes mummies a surprise quick money maker if you like combat.
I try to get crusader on a dagger I wouldn't otherwise use and then switch back and forth depending on what kind of floor it is

I have the crusader enchant and I love it bc it rlly helps with those annoying ass mummy levels. I hate getting crowded by them.
Galaxy souls can also be obtained in the dangerous mines, or during the Danger in the Deep and Skull Cavern Invasion quests. They're rare dangerous monster drops, sometimes even in big slimes. Be aware that you also need to kill 50 dangerous monsters for being able to buy them in Qi's walnut room.
However, that's more or less just a technicality. They're really rare drops, and just doing Qi quests for buying them is the more reliable and faster method by far.

Powerful is actually useful for pickaxes as it minimizes the amount of hits you need for rocks. I've found it quite useful.
Immunity is the chance you negate a status effect like being slowed from the slimes. Not how long it lasts. Also the cinderclown shoes and the immunity band will get you +9 (10 being max). I like the mermaid boots the most.
You can reskin boots as well in the sewing machines
So powerful is acutally good. It doesnt just increase power but it also gives more damage to rocks. So example is the rocks in the volcano take 2 hits with an iridium picaxe but with powerful it will only take 1. Its pretty nice.

Powerful on the Pickaxe also makes it to where basically any rock except for Iridium and Gem rocks break in one hit. I kept that one for that reason, because having to hit all the rocks in the volcano twice really slows you down.

I actually reached the tenth floor of the volcano on the first try. (Second year of my first playthrough.)
I had two crabshell rings and also a slime charmer ring that I used when there were a lot of slimes. Also, I had the combat mastery with a frog trinket. My frog took care of a lot of enemies.
My favorite ring combos:
Savage+Vampire
I don’t like to use too many healing items because guess what? Cheese is worth a lot of money. Also, +2 speed makes you feel extremely powerful.
Slime Charmer+Napalm
Like, half the damage I take in the caverns are from slimes. Also, rocks go boom. That’s really it.

Small correction here:
Powerful add +1 power level to the tool, meaning that a fully upgraded Axe can chop a tree in 1 hit instead of 2 (pretty useless if you ask me); but gives the biggest improvement to the Pickaxe, a 24hp rock (volcano) would require 5 swings from a iridium pickaxe, would fall to 4 with powerful. A node that requires 8 swings would fall to 5~6, and so on.
I think you made a table on the Mining video, just instead of dividing by 5 (iridium) you do it with 6.
I really like my combo of the slime charmer and vampire rings.
My favorite set up ring wise so far is the following.
Light + Magnet and Vampiric slot one, Phoenix Ring + Napalm Ring. Everything blows up, Everything heals you, explosions can chain, and you're not totally blind nor do you care much about how close you are to drops. I've gotten well past floor 300 with this set up.

I can't remember where I got this idea from (either Salmence or Floydson), but a possible use for Crusader would be putting it on a dagger and using its special attack to fight ghosts, drastically cutting down on the amount of times they are pushed away from the player.

1. " After killing at least 50 Dangerous Monsters [1], Galaxy Souls can also be purchased from Island Trader on the last day of a season for Radioactive Bar.png Radioactive Bar (10). " - The Wiki
And
2. They can actually be a dropped item when killing said dangerous monsters. I found this out myself through my own playthrough, and now I have 2 Galaxy Souls as a result. ( Both I've gotten from the Mines with the shrine on )
Crabshell ring is op, I wore two crabshell rings and my space boots and just walked to the end eating only one salad on my first volcano run. Each defense point means that monsters deal one point less damage. They’d have to land like a million more hits to kill you, with 4 out of 8 of the types of monsters doing only one damage per hit. That’s why, for mines/volcano/cavern, I just wear two crabshell+iridium combo rings if I want to speed run it (actually for mines this is overkill, burglar is better, unless you just don’t care and are mining out gold from floor 80 while ignoring the monsters).
Nah i LOVE the crusader enchantment. The mummy floors in the skull cavern used to be my worst nightmare, but now they're a breeze. Esp in combination with the napalm ring, since mummies swarm you reliably instead of circling/bouncing like serpents or ghosts, you can save up on bombs by just going to the rocks you want to break, get swarmed by mummies, slay them quickly so they explode, and get both monster loot and staircases+ ore quickly. Mummies are by far the best monster to utilize the napalm ring with imo, so crusader is S tier to me
The Crusader enchantment allowed me to finish my mummy monster slaying goals, i naturally just walk away from mummies in the caverns otherwise since theyre pretty slow
You can also get Galaxy souls from the danger in the deep quest from slimes
Crusader enchantment is pretty great for skull cavern. not as good as artful, but it's worth keeping if you dont have enough prismatic shards to keep rerolling
Also... Powerful is in fact the best pickaxe enchantment! it gives the pickaxe +1 power which is equivalent to a blacksmith upgrade level allows you to break rocks in volcano dungeon in 1 hit instead of 2, and break iridium nodes in 3 hits instead of 4

I love the haymaker. When using it on fibre, it has a chance of dropping hay and a 100% chance of dropping fibre. I repeatedly go to lvl 81 of the mines and get 100s of fibre amd hay by the end of the day. Im trying to get all of ginger island and the greenhouse full of 100% retaining soil, so im runnomg low on fibre. I have 84 animals ( 4 coops and 3 barns ) so the good chance of hay is very useful.

You could just plant fiber seed, 250 seed for 1000 fibers, no need for any mine diving or watering

I'm trying to get all of my ginger island farm and greenhouse filled with 100% water retaining soil, so I can't afford 1 clay, 5 sap and 1 mixed seed to make 4 fibre seeds. I don't have a mushroom cave so I can put the mushrooms in a seed maker to get mixed seeds.
On top of that, I have
12 rabbits
12 dinosaurs
12 void chickens
12 blue chickens
35 pigs
1 ostrich.
Or 84 overall.
And I'm on 4 corners and I'm trying to make my farm beautiful, so I'm only using 1corner for farming.
Powerful makes it take less swings to break open rocks or trees depending on the tool you are using
i have my iridium band combined with my lucky ring so i have all the glowing / magnet ups as well as extra luck !! and then i typically have my napalm and burglar ring combined since i mine all the time and its good for blowing up rocks in skull caverns :^)
For me the combine rings is
Iridium band + lucky ring : a very good one, and if you have two it gonna make game far more easier, the only down side is lucky ring is very hard to find and very based on luck
Hot java ring + bulgar ring : gave you insane amount coffee, again only downside hot java ring only found in chest on volcano mine
Bro, you're sleeping on the Crusader enchant. There's nothing else in the entire game that lets you kill mummies with such ease, and the bonus damage it gives to them and several other monster types is huge. Equipping two hot java rings (combined with a burglar ring and 1 other ring of your choosing such as lucky ring) with the crusader infinity hammer can yield some seriously nasty gold per day in the skull caverns. Cloth sells for 600g a pop and all the coffee you'll get sells for a huge amount as well.
This video was very helpful. However some people have managed to predict enchants on the stardew valley predictor.

I think I ran Iridium Band + Lucky Ring, and Slime Rancher + Lucky Ring. All that luck is super nice, and I just love not having to worry about slime damage for skull cavern runs. I ran swift on the axe and pickaxe because you can tear through things quickly,. Then I ran reaching on the hoe and watering can so that at the start of the season I could immediately for iridium sprinklers. Fishing I went with the extra level.

the best reskin for the infinity blade is probably the meowmere so that you can have the look of the meowmere with the infity blade damage and buffs
Add 3 defense gems to a dwarf dagger and keep it next to ur food, come in clutch if you get nuked by a ton of mobs.
5:38 crusaders is recommended because it killsmummies without them reviving, and making it not use bombs to kill them completely.
powerfull enchantments dont just make them deal more damage, but add an additional power level to the tool. So things like breaking rocks and cutting trees take less swings. still not as good as the other options but not as bad as they seem initially.

I don't know why, but I really like to struggle in the game. I'll do the infinite galaxy sword as I always like to go mining. Once you actually get all the stuffs and reaching so much early in the game, it would be boring after that. I won't get the bottomless watering can, as I barely use them also. 😂 hopefully concernedape will still update this, esp there's forging involve. His name is so addicting I'll be sad if he doesn't want to update it anymore.
How can you not recommend Crusader?! Killing mummies with approx 2 strikes and no bombs and the time consuming ghosts with 2 strikes is a huge deal. They drop expensive cloth (658g with artisan perk) and have a great probability of spawning a hole or ladder. For me it is a no brainer. Especially with the napalm ring which lets monsters explode it is great for console players who can‘t really play with the slingshot.
Powerful pickaxe also works on rocks.
The regular rocks in the volcano took 2 swings til i got to the forge and now its much easier for me to treasure hunt to level 5 on my trips to the island.
Cant say if swift would actually improve that.

u dont just get galaxy souls by buying them, but in the "danger in the deep" quest, i got all 3 galaxy souls without buying a single one
My go to is slime charmer ring + lucky ring and iridium band + burglar's ring
Man, I disagree the prt of not recommending the Crusader. most of the time Mummies just bundle up and destroy me.
You can also get Galaxy Souls from the Island Trader at the end of every season.
You can also get galaxy souls spawning from killing Qi slimes during the dangerous mine quest! That's how I got all of them.
question: if ur using galaxy hammer should u use emeralds for faster attack or rubies for more damage
Personally I’d go with two speed enhancements and one attack

according to math and not just some youtubers gut, it 100% depends on the level 5 and 10 choices you made for leveling. BUT, if you are going for max DPS on the special ability, level 5 scout, giving you +50% chance for crit, you can can pick Acrobat at level 10, halving the cooldown on the special move, this stacks with the artful enchantment, resulting in a 75% cooldown reduction, which is fast enough to always keep serpents at bay in the skull caverns. when going for this build, its good to know that the special attack on a hammer CAN NOT crit, so 3 rubies would be best, since you arent trying to swing the hammer normally. But if you are just using the hammer like a sword, you may want to go with fighter at level 5, giving you 10% more damage, and then brute at level 10 giving you 15% more damage, in this case, you need to think about what you are trying to kill, as dealing more damage than the monster hp, is useless, 3 rubies will turn you galaxy hammer from 70-90 damage into 108-139, and having a base speed of 2 is usually enough. But if you are constantly in the volcano mine, or the difficult version of the regular mines, you can do 1 ruby, and emerald, and then another ruby in that order to get a hammer with 101-130 damage and 5 speed instead of 2. Keep in mind that the galaxy hammer and the infinty gavel both have a base weight of 5, and most enemies will be knocked back enough that the bonus attack speed is USELESS, with obvious exceptions such as the lava dragons, who are stationary always. Why did Salmence say 2 speed and one attack? I will probably never know.

I have combined Lucky Ring and Burglar Ring - best decision ever since more drops from Mobs.
Also hates Slimes so bad so I combined my Iridium band with the Slime Charmer Ring so I am invincible with slime attacks.
I combine my iridium band with my lucky ring I don't know if the lucky ring is actually doing stuff but it's nice to have the extra space
1:30 is wrong, thats not how the emerald works, its 2-3-2 not 2-2-3.
id really hate to see someone mess this up, as every sword ive ever enchanted has had the 2nd enchantment be an emerald.
Powerful adds damage when breaking things, not fighting enemies. It reduces the number of hits needed to down a tree or stump or rock.

Just got to the forge, right at 1:50am. Had no idea what it was and was not prepared.
I had accidentally got a Vampiric fishing pole. Don't remember why I even thought to put the fishing pole in to see what happened, but I did and kept it to say I have a vampire pole.
Best ring combinations -
1) Iridium band + slime charmer
Burglar + savage
2) iridium band + slime charmer
Iridium band + burglar
3) iridum band + aqua
Burglar + aqua
This is a special build which requires you to get either the dragontooth cutlass or the dragoontooth club. Innate enchante them to get the +50 or +75 crit.
Forge them with 3 aqua to increase critical chance.
You will literally one hit every single monster in the game including the longest royal serpent as long as you crit.
With this build you will crit every 2-4 shots guarenteed.
Lucky ring is extremely overrated.
Its a good ring, just not good enough, there are better options.
vampiric definitely IS good, but it only gives a 9% CHANCE to heal for about 10% of the monsters health. that averages to about 1% of enemy health healed each time, which outperforms the vampire ring in late game since most enemies have more than 200 hp (the vampire ring heals a flat 2hp per kill)
