I loved it when Paul Lynde was given a question about Zsa Zsa Gabor and while he was stalling Eva said, "Careful"... And Paul said, "Yeah. I know it. I was all ready with my answer. Then I remembered you were here."
    That was my favorite moment.

Wally Cox was an amazing actor, very intelligent man, very physically fit and one of the loves of actor Marlon Brando’s life. He died of a heart attack in Los Angeles, on 15 February 1973, at age 48 just a little over two years after this episode aired on 2 November 1970.
Godfrey Cambridge also died of a heart attack in Los Angeles. However, Cambridge died just a little more than two years after Cox (November 1976), and Cambridge was still five years younger (43) than Cox at his time off death.

Australian TV stations did not broadcast any official equivalents of this "Squares" game show in the early 70's. We didn't have colour broadcasting back then and fewer than 8 channels per capital city meant less choice of viewing. There were similar short-lived "Aussie" versions (i.e. Celebrity Squares/Personality Squares which aired around 1967-69, 1975-76, 1981), but nothing in 1971.
So it is with enormous gratitude that I say THANK YOU for this video, and to re-live a piece of history that would otherwise be forgotten. :-)

Unfortunately and very sadly, Eva and her fourth husband had separated that fall. She filed for divorce the next year (1972). Her divorce became final in June of '73. Then she married her fifth and husband three months later.
When I saw in the papers that she had filed for divorce, I never knew this. In fact, I didn't even know that they had separated. And in her mother Jolie's 1975 autobiography, I read that he was seeing another woman for a year right behind Eva's back! And poor Eva was just simply crushed!
So that means in 1971 for Eva, Green Acres and fourth marriage both came to an end in the same year.

This is from an era when people cold actually afford to own homes. They later had to adjust the prizes because washer/dryers, stoves, carpet and light fixtures would be useless to apartment dwellers. Also cash prizes had to be increased and prizes lowered because contestants increasingly had to pay taxes on all of those things as the IRS considered them income, which meant selling their prizes to pay the tax on them.
