@@SirJo_ The second episode is actually from SAO Progression, not the main novel series, I think, which means that it's being written years after the original story. And besides that, beta testers was described later (well, book 22 I think, so it's even later than SAOP) to have knowledge about how to do many of the early quests. Due to the non linear design of the game, and that there's no question giver indication until you actually trigger the quest, that's a big advantage. Not to mention there's the concept of Cardinal system, which would detect and fix exploits automatically, and high level players would usually exploit the game until the mechanics is getting fixed, which also brings a big advantage comparing to mid level players. So basically, beater is real, and Kirito is indeed one.

this is insane. Considering Full Dive was made possible in 2022 (in SAO) and we are sooo close to is now in 2021 blows my mind at how accurate? that timeframe is. Sao was basically a fortelling of the future of VR thats so damm crazy to me since that what the author wrote it to be. i cant wait to own a full dive rig whenever its out.
For the Augma, they first need to realize enough of VR to create something like the Maticuboid (I think it is called in SAO.). For Full Dive VR like SAO to be possible, that step first regarding that Maticuboid needs to become a reality first. There's actual true promise regarding that machine for medical use and once it's done, only then can we use the findings for Full Dive Virtual Reality, and when Full Dive VR is complete, that's when the Augmented Reality revolving around the Augma will come to life.
Imagine the technology in 10-15 years, i’ll be in my 20s at that time and god damn. If they’re already working on full dive vr headsets in 2021 imagine 2030.
The pace at which technology is progressing since 2010 to now is so slow compared to the last 50 years before 2000. The likely hood of seeing an actual full dive at consumer price wont be till 2040 at the earliest if at all. This is more than just programming. There is still so much about the brain that we dont understand before we evem get close to attempting full dive. Its crazy how people think full dive could be here as early ad 2030...
The facial demonstration at 6:10 is AMAZINGLY good. If they can do something that accurate with the hands I'm actually gonna believe its possible Half-Dive can come in this current decade
Someone here said that this is a lot like the gamecube era of VR technology, and I just gotta say, I'm proud to be here to see it all starting out. I've been following VR for a while. I was always interested in it since around 2014 or so, and it all kept going from there. Eventually in around 2018 i got my first VR headset for myself, and it's probably my favorite gaming appliance that I have. It's been a great past couple of years, and an absolutely outstanding couple of months for VR, and I'm really excited to see where this goes from here. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to eat a full course meal or go on a roller coaster ride and feel the gravity lift my cheeks, strain my bloodflow, and feel my stomach drop, all in VR. I'm pumped to see where the future leads us, and glad to say that I was here when it began.
yea the Augma is more believable (because it uses retinal projection for sight instead of magical brain lasers) but still just a product of science-fiction at this stage. I'd like to see it sometime soon tho!

I would actually say it's a downgrade to VR, it's the step in the right direction, but like, laying down and staring at a screen while moving your feet doesn't seem like it'll be that fun, not to mention the neck pains.

well at least it is some news finally besides what all other companies do. but would you want to full dive into the world of sword art online if it was possible in real life?
Looks cool, particularly the touch gloves (though they look a bit bulky and will need a few years to slim down lol). Love seeing VR get more and more advanced. Pretty sure some health and safety laws will prevent the whole "turn off motor functions" gig since there's a horrifying number of drawbacks to that, but otherwise this looks like a nice step to more interesting gameplay, especially for cockpit simulators.
Imagine you are in the game just playing and suddenly you feel yourself not getting any air and suffocating but before you can even exit you loose all air and pass out.
As someone who has personally had many out of body experiences and lucid dreams. I KNOW the brain can use motor functions while the body is naturally paralyzed during sleep. I know consciousness can interact in environment without the need for any external input. The vividness of some OBEs is indistinguishable from reality. So mind awake body asleep. If there was some way we could use this phenomenon of the human brain and develope an interface we can access in the subconscious, I genuinely believe that is possible with a BCI like neural link. Probably hundreds of years off but I genuinely think if we want FULL DIVE, that will be the way we do it.
well there's already some test using you brain neuron's to tell what to do like a simple game using your brain to play so its possible I just found that vid in yt sometimes ago

Don't get me wrong, the half dive is amazing. But it's not a bci (brain computer interface) which is the premises of the full dive tech. Now, if it used bci for basically anything I would agree, but its not. Its just a high quality headset with a bunch of haptic accessories that you use laying down.

As i was hyped something struck my mind... Most of us anicipating this gear are at least 15+ years old. So at times a full dive gear exists well be in our 30s-50s, we might have the money to buy this gear by then, but do we will have the cognitive abilities to handle such thing? Or will we be overwhelmed by sensory overload that only children who grew up with it can overcome? Will we be the new boomers unable to handle the newest technology, with the ultimative fate of having to annoy our grandchildren for tech support?
that is a good question indeed but keep in mind we grew up with tech and i think it will be easier for us to keep up compared to the generation before us that didn't
Not so much a "dive" as a normal VR headset but made for lying down with some fans strapped on and internal surround sound system. The feet controls are not immersive, just necessary. I find normal walking way more immersive than using feet controls. Haptic and sensory feedback can be used on normal VR as well. I'm not saying it's not a good product. It is quite innovative and finding new ways to use VR with comfort is a great and admirable pursuit.
I think that the closest we'll get to fictional vr stories would be ready player one. Maybe with neuralink eventually we could get a full dive technology, but I think that would only be paving the way for something like the matrix.
@@VRelityThat would be necessary, because many of us who are interested in the development of this technology have myopia or astigmatism because we will spend 20 hrs / day in the metaverses lol.
SAO took place in 2022, and we are already this far in 2021, meaning a full dive might be out next year. Coincidence? I think not! SAO was actually just an animated version of the future! If a full dive SAO does release next year though I am not hesitating to play it, even if it does trap you in the game.
Its be nuts if someone was actually developing SAO all these years and have also developed full dive gear waiting to be released on the year of the fated, 2022.
this tech is getting crazy, right now its mostly speculation or prototypes but imagine 5 years in the future it might be normal for everyone to wear AR glasses. wouldent it be funny for teachers having to confiscate glasses so they dont watch relity videos in class?
If I guess full drive technology may come within 2 or 3 years then not only games to play. It will help to cure may diseases. Just i wish they don't misuse this technology. By creating war Androids or trapping the people.
If someone makes an IRL sao i wouldn't even care if I get stuck in it. Also, how cool would it be to have a game like Overgeared or all the other video game manwha
This sounds extremely revolutionary, thuogh I do have one question on how it functions. The whole reason current VR headsets require users to stand is to have the full 360 degrees of turning available, but while you are laying on your bed, there is no possible way to turn around, or even look up / down as much as normal. I'm not sure how they would fix this besides having a manual way to turn your character around in the game, but I can't imaging it would feel as natural as normal VR headsets. Anyways, this looks super cool and I'm sure it will be an incredible and new experience regardless
Would You Full Dive into SAO if there is no LOG OUT button?

Eventually in around 2018 i got my first VR headset for myself, and it's probably my favorite gaming appliance that I have. It's been a great past couple of years, and an absolutely outstanding couple of months for VR, and I'm really excited to see where this goes from here.
True that and yes vr is evolving quickly. Would you also want to full dive into sword art online ?

Imagine you are in the game just playing and suddenly you feel yourself not getting any air and suffocating but before you can even exit you loose all air and pass out.
well i hope that wont happen my friend
As someone who has personally had many out of body experiences and lucid dreams. I KNOW the brain can use motor functions while the body is naturally paralyzed during sleep. I know consciousness can interact in environment without the need for any external input. The vividness of some OBEs is indistinguishable from reality. So mind awake body asleep. If there was some way we could use this phenomenon of the human brain and develope an interface we can access in the subconscious, I genuinely believe that is possible with a BCI like neural link. Probably hundreds of years off but I genuinely think if we want FULL DIVE, that will be the way we do it.

Definitely wont be getting it, nice progress though.
