Imagine being a grown ass adult and wanting to censor somebody because your little feelings got hurt.
They aren't acting like adults, that's the problem.
@@Superman-xr1oh There is a serious problem with arrested development in our society. And I’m not talking about the delightful TV show starring Jason Bateman 😂.
And over jokes! Things like calling a politician a "Karen!" To this guy, it's unforgiveable lol
@@branboom3342 -- He's also a liar and a hypocrite. Does anyone really believe he gets so butthurt about all the insults people level at Trump? I'm betting he relishes them. I'm betting he's said such insults himself.
I agree
ahh the ole "I support freedom of speech... but only if it's speech I like"
indefensible position that a surprising number of people hold. Spooky
My dude .. someone called a multimillionaire politician with tremendous power, someone who votes for wars where bombs rain down on kids .. .. .. a “Karen.”
Obviously that insult was way over the line.
We must defend Elizabeth Warren’s stellar reputation at all costs.
I mean raining down bombs on third world villages is regrettable, sure. But there’s no need to say words like “Karen.” Words are the real violence.
I condemn hamas but…
And unfortunately how Musk is actually operating as opposed to what he promised.
I was thinking the same thing
"What a rare gift we have here in America; to disparage the powerful. I'd rather 100 men disparage me openly in their true assessment, than one man bite his tongue in my presence for fear of my power to silence him." - Martin Van Buren (1839)
I have never before heard this quote by Van Buren.
"86% of the people on the internet believe something to be true if you provide some numbers or statistics for your statement." - Abraham Lincoln
@@axel_r_ “99% of the people on the Internet will make random, and somewhat cryptic posts in response to comments they either like, or don’t like.” - Me
@@axel_r_ "What you just said about the internet is not true...nor has it ever been."- Socrates
I am unfamiliar with, nor can I find, this quote by the former president (or anyone else, actually). The closest I could find is this; "There is a power in public opinion in this country - and I thank God for it: for it is the most honest and best of all powers - which will not tolerate an incompetent or unworthy man to hold in his weak or wicked hands the lives and fortunes of his fellow-citizens." I do agree with the sentiment, however.
This is the problem today, too many people are too busy being insulted and offended than they are being productive. This young man has a very good grasp of our basic rights to free speech.
Critical Thinking is not taught enough. Also, microplastics bleed-off testosterone, hence why men are acting and reacting poorly according to how men should be: Stoic, powerful, calm and loving men thrive.
Douglas Murray has a great quote along those lines - "imagine how much we could achieve if we didn't spend so much of our energy worrying about how not to upset people"
@@HAZMOLZ I think trying not to be annoying to others is a pretty fine life goal. It's hard and it's useful. SO many people are annoying for the sake of it and just don't care. Weak people.
I'm in my 60s and am truly amazed at how sensibilities have become so delicate. How will people cope if and when hard times come?
They won't. When. You hear xxxxxx died from this year to this year, (from war or famine, or WEF killing squads, or whatever happens) you will know who died.
Been wondering the very same thing while watching this video. I think it is much more complex problem. I'm only speculating but I think the reason behind it is humanity not being able to cope with the evolution of the internet.
A lot of people feel lonley, have no interests, and live in the internet space. Because they are lonley they are vulnerable, and look for other people online to create communities. The problem is that those communities are superficial. They don't lead to human interaction. All they do is give false sense of belonging and solidarity.
One of the easiest these days ways to "belong", is to be offended by the common enemy. Elon's tweets, Trump's BS, the fact that Ryan Gosling got nomintated for Barbie movie and female director and main actress did not, some comedy special... Once you are offended with a bunch of other people, you can grab pitchforks and tiki torches and march together against...someting. It's easier that way than trying to form real relationship with real people. Back in the 90s if something offended you, you would have told your friends or family or no one and move on. These days people go online and become keyboard warriors. And once they find likeminded people...everything escalates.
I'm 40 and I honestly don't remember when was the last time I was....offended. Sure some things piss me off, or iritate me. But to be offended...is such a...sad way to live. If I don't like something I remove it from my life.
I'm 50 and just found this channel. I'm amazed at the patience of the guy. I'd be working really hard to bite my tongue and not say something harsh... even now I'm trying to not say something that might hurt the students feelings in case they watch these clips.
So I'm censoring my comments to save the feelings of a person that wants to probably censor my opinions.
I really want to say put your big girl/boy pants on, pull them up, zip them closed, and come out and enjoy the real world of different opinions and personalities..
The best nights out were the times we went to the pub and met people with opposite views and we debated all night in a loud and rowdy way. No hurt feelings, no fights, just great conversations that sometimes changed my opinions or gave me better understanding and hopefully the others felt the same..
Some people even ended up marrying those people they met and disagreed with... 😂
I think a good recession is overdue. When it comes it will help recalibrate the work ethics of the younger generation.
It's the same old circle: Strong men make good times -> good times make weak men -> weak men make hard times -> hard times make strong men....

We have a problem in America and it evades most of us. The left and right have very different angles of approach but the end result is the same.
The problem in and of itself is that many Americans seem to think that the means justify the ends.

Growing up during those decades had it’s trials and one of those was learning to grow thick skin and not be so soft as to allow someone else to effect us. The fact that people allow another individual’s opinion to have such an effect is astounding to me. We have way too many beta males and females in this society. On the bright side, my kids have been raised to have thicker skin and understand that they ultimately have control of their own life and their own success.

After listening to the video a couple of these, I want to ask this question as delicately as possible … I don’t know how to phrase it:
Does this guy doing the interview teach the developmentally disabled?
I mean, it all makes total sense if that’s the case.
People will think I’m just being mean, etc, but I truly feel for the developmentally disabled, and I feel like the person off camera might have a disability.
Some people will probably chime in with “His disability is he votes Blue ” but I’m not kidding here.
When I was 9 years old, I understood how the world works better than the guy off camera. But having these basic things explained to him is making him writhe until he finally goes 🤯
I seriously think the narrator needs to clarify this detail: Is this narrator a teacher who specializes in “special ed” for people with disabilities?
Listen to the video again, and you’ll see it all makes complete sense if the person being interviewed has a disability.
English is his second language. That might be why.
@@lawbulb unfortunately, the fellow off camera seems to have the same mentality as a lot of the people on the left who thinks that one saying "mean words" should be punished and that being offensive should be illegal. @@deeh5126 And of course, one can still freely insult Orange Man; which indicates they are completely insincere, and they are cry-bullies.
Feeling upset when someone insults you is giving that person control over you to control how you feel. People dont really offend others, people allow themselves to feel offended.
Imagine being so viscerally offended because someone insulted a powerful politician (Elizabeth Warren).
It feels like this person being interviewed holds his favorite politicians up as if they are gods. He literally reacts as if “Allah has been insulted.”
This … not because he himself was insulted … but rather because **politicians** he sides with were insulted.
But he says he’d be this upset if you insult anyone. Is he upset at Nancy Pelosi over what she has said about Trump? Does he seethe at the sight of Pelosi? Does he denounce her?
I say this, not to make this into a “Team Red” vs “Team Blue” argument.
I’m just betting that if he feels so strongly about Elizabeth Warren (the benevolent, the merciful, blessings and peace be upon her) - that he probably has someone he doesn’t mind insulting.
Trump, McConnell, Greene, Kavanaugh … I bet he has chuckled many a time when those people are called “dimwits” etc.
But he claims he’s upset when anyone is insulted. What about people who have insulted Elon Musk?
I have a feeling he’s being deeply disingenuous. That he’s fraudulently representing his position, in order to clutch his pearls and “score a few points” against those he disagrees with.
But perhaps he’s being sincere. Perhaps watching someone insult Trump puts him into the exact same emotional situation. That’s even more terrifying. If such a person exists, then no amount of sunscreen can protect that sensitive skin. I’d rather he were just a disingenuous fraud, trying to ‘tone police’ people who he doesn’t agree with.
It's a thinking error as well. Good point.
Well said. Wisdom 👍

I enjoy your attempt at dialogue with someone who clearly decides using emotion as a primary factor instead of logic. One quick point (if I may): saying we live in a "Democracy" technically can only embolden small thinkers like this TEACHER, as a pure democracy can quickly turn into mob-rule, which more closely aligns with an emotional state, rather than a logical state. The constitutional republic in which we live (while definitely not perfect) has at least some checks and balances so a majority minority cannot jingoisticly push our government to act against the true will of the people. One that can only be vetted through a painstakingly long process where long term outcomes can and should be weighed prior to decision-making.

That’s a TEACHER?
Man, I have to be even more grateful than I already am for my parents. They taught me young that “sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me”.
This is teacher is great and much needed in this time. Young people have no idea how much they need him..
You definitely a gem in our society. Please keep it up.
Thank you for your content. I subscribed this evening.
That teacher's voice sounds like he is on the verge of tears all the time.
He got a terrible shitstorm over him about JK R. Even though these videos may be staged, he must be under tremendous stress and pressure.
These people know deep down they’re wrong. The body reacts to the truth.
His mind hasn't fully grown up.....
@@LadyGodivaBelgiumthey’re not staged
@@LadyGodivaBelgiumI’m pretty sure OP meant the off camera teacher sounded like he is constantly about to burst out crying, not Warren.
This man must be protected at all costs. He will likely not have a job at that institution much longer. I hope he Jordan Petersons himself right into speaking gigs and gets fully funded to continue calmly dismantling the backwards thinking inside academia.
The “teacher” off camera is not Someone I would EVER want to stain my kids minds with his spineless drivel. I applaud your patience dealing with these weasels
The student is off camera. The teacher is on camera.
Sir, you earned my Sub. Great Job...its amazing how far common sense can take you, but so many so called smart people have none.
The obtuse continuously leave me in awe.
I am so sorry I quit school in 9th grade. I'm 71. If I could go back, I'd join the debate team.
I appreciate you more than I could ever express. Thank You Sir.
Well done Warren. None of us are perfect. None of us have perfect thinking. We are all prone to congnitive dissonance. The best we all have are the facts available to us because subjectivity is unreliable at best, treacherous at worst.

a young man openly engaging in critical thinking
fantastic!
Warren, you are an asset to your generation and to be commended for your patience and lack of condescension. I would hope your abilities will be put to great use in the next 30+ years. Live long and prosper!
Lack of condescension especially, and this can often be difficult to do as emotions can over, kudos!
2:58 thats a concept many need to be taught. Its very important to be capable of holding two truths at the same time, in the same mind
“If what you say is true, how do you explain my feelings.” - the debate
Subscribed!! Hang in there, you are doing a great service for society. Unfortunately you are also paying the price for doing this great service. Do not allow the same people ruining society, to get you down. 50% of us love your work, but the 50% that fear you are also the most aggressive, and will lash out at you.
… that kid reminds me of my 60+ year old father.
Thank you for encouraging these kids to think critically, we need more teachers like yourself.
We need more teachers like you in the world. I hope you scale and reach the masses - God speed!
It’s like he’s trying to explain democracy to a five year old. Dude can’t fathom a world that exists beyond his own feelings and opinions.
This gives me hope. Critical thinking it's the key to understanding how to understand. Over generalizing has become the default view towards philosophy, making contemporary thought over simplified. It's not complex, but the availability of luxury has made any reasonable affect labeled as challenge in the eyes of too many power hungry situations
My spouse and I had this “teachable moment” visual exchange when we realized we were presented with that “priceless moment” where the parent-child conversation moved to a whole new level. I’m grateful to be in sync with a spouse who valued critical thinking - I’m in awe as I watch my grown kids parent at a whole new level. Some of my favourite exchanges were, “you must have a reason for saying that; can you tell me what it is?”. Or, “ why…x5”. Or the statement, “just because you saw it on tv, doesn’t make it true!?”. Families today are missing out on the most amazing (sometimes very loud) dinner conversations.
Where did you find your unicorn spouse?
@@jasong9774 Your comment is in conflict with your profile.
@joecitizen7463 how so?
@@jasong9774 Please explain your comment
@joecitizen7463 an attempt at humor. Your post seemed focused on praising your spouse's uniqueness or at least less than common. I do notice, unlike the approach you taught your children; which is great, you are not applying that here. You implied something negative without cause and put the onus on me.
This is so refreshing, thank you for teaching the youth to stop and think and allow other side to express their opinion. These days they just want to shut the other side down. Just like a marriage, society needs true communication.
This was another teacher he was interviewing 💀
It's like he's asking, "so people are allowed to hurt my feelings and not be arrested???", and he stunned that the answer is indeed, "yes". 😂 I wish you were a little more direct with this kind of thing, but still love that you're able to pull out just how they think people and society should be. People like think uprise settled issues that they weren't present for, or belive their FEELINGS overule reality. I hope that at the end of speaking with you that people understand that they don't control objective TRUTH. The way they FEEL, is not LAW by logic or even by nature.
I had an illusion that just shattered, that teachers today were like my teachers back in the 80's and 90's. But when I hear the voice of the challenger in this debate i notice the emotional tonality, and it's the same as in young people. It renders every responses emotional and thus to a degree a judgemental. To have a successful discussion under such circumstances takes a very mature respondent, and I have a hard time believing most young people have that maturity. Could this be an aspect of how cultural Marxism have got manifested in the school room?
Yes. It's just my opinion, but I think it's pretty clear that one path to instill the brainwashing we've seen over the past 10 - 15 years requires soft and inexperienced people who've never had to suffer. Fill them with self-esteem and teach them to stare inside themselves for answers, and you've got a whole little army ready to fill up with whatever holy crusade you choose.
I know it has been going on longer than that, I'm just counting the current little empty heads rolling out of universities.
Life is about compromise otherwise nothing gets done.
Not everything is open for a compromise. If I legitimately posses something and you want to take it from me I’m not gonna agree that it’s ok if you only take part of it. It’s in my possession andI possess rights that are non negotiable
@@michaelryan2416 I think he was just generally speaking. Life is never black and white.
@@chicksgrowtoo oh I know and agree just playing Devil’s Advocate
@@michaelryan2416 I get the devils advocate part. I know there are absolutes in our society where compromise has no value such as murder and slavery. I’m just pointing the overall decay of modern society is rooted in our inability to listen to the other side, because we are so blinded by our triableness from all the content we consume from social media that people accept as fact only because it aligns with their ideology. It feels that society has lost the ability to look at issues from both side and pick the best solutions even if they come from people they don’t necessarily agree with.
@@evilldead6824 thank you
You need your own show Warren, you are awesome and correct!
I love Watching debates like this because there's always the person who knows how they're gonna bring it back around and make their point. He was trying so hard not to grin at the beginning of this video. Commendable composure, but not perfect 😂
Ok, now you got it, the Constitution is that all people are equal in the town square, the democracy is picking a side
Every year a new generation of students enter college and announce to the world "Everyone before me has been doing it wrong I'm here to show you the right way" and every year teachers have to wait for them to grow out of that stage in their development. Some people never do!
Yep. Some people never do. Then they become teachers!
Maybe clarify your statement to “this teacher”.
I hadn't appreciated the other person in the conversation was a teacher until re watching this, I thought it was a child hence my initial comment. Realising he is (or hopefully was) a teacher makes me sad for students today. You can hear in his voice the off screen 'teacher' just wants to get his own way like a child, and is frustrated that he cant get what he wants. He lacks the intellectual ability to understand he is wrong, and does not have the verbal ability to defend his position. We all think society is getting worse each generation I think the off screen teacher is doing his part in proving that fact.
Second comment because i just want to say thank you for not playing the game. You see it for what it is and adress everything plainly and to the point. "Whats your point?" You dont just let him say things and then try to defend against nothing, you make them state a point instead of repeating phrases and they ALWAYS shut down. Because if the take a stand they cant move around it anymore.
How do you keep so calm (at least on the outside)? What is your support system? And thanks, I really like and enjoy your videos!
Love your discussion! Would like to see it uncut to learn more about the other guys context and so on.
Big thanks for your great videos!
Noted!
Great idea, but if you knew how many people ramble and get off subject you would understand why it’s edited. 😢
Just found your channel from the Twitter/X post. Enjoyed & appreciated the way you were able to engage your student into thinking about not only the question he presented to you, but also in the manner you were able to get him to think using his own critical thinking. It was very cool. The viewer could hear the change in his voice as he was working through the thought process. In that 1 interaction the student learned & has a new tool to utilize in life. Good luck to you Sir & your students. They are fortunate to have a teacher helping them explore the thought process & not just memorization.
Thank you for reminding me not to take the rage bait and have a well thought out discussion.
I’ve said for a while - just because you don’t like someone doesn’t mean you discount everything they say and do. You can not like someone but still agree with things they may say. In fact, when you listen to others amidst disagreeing with them, it forces us to challenge our thinking & the beautiful side effect for ourselves is growth and evolution of character & self. Another huge benefit is when we apply this principle we learn how to listen to understand on a whole different level instead of listening to respond. Followed up with leading by example with grace and compassion? It deflates the sails of ignorant hate, on both sides
Great stuff here. Came from X where I encouraged more people to follow this guy. Needs more subscribers here as well.
I love the ending here. This kid just doesn't like someone and so doesn't get that he should be allowed to exist. And the ending is so good in where we land with that.
He's not a kid though, he's a teacher, with a child's intellect and emotional fragility.
@@alihenderson5910 I meant the kid off screen, wait isn't the guy on screen the teacher???
“It’s better to put on slippers than carpet the whole earth.”
The unseen opponent simply wants him to be wrong on something, anything, so continues frustratingly trying to find that; but when frustration drives you, errors are made. Warren's clarity of reason was never muddled here by those attempts.
Saw the mini epistomology lesson with the student asking about JK Rowling's "bigoted" views. Subscribed... WITH the bell!
